About Polly III
We dare you to take the Polly Challenge! We bet you won't be able to meet Polly and NOT fall in love with her within 30 seconds. It's impossible. Polly is a tiny girl 3 year old girl weighing just 9.5 pounds. With her cute little docked tail, we think she is a Toy Fox Terrier which is great because she has all of the spunk and playfulness of a terrier and all of the cuddly sweetness of a toy breed. Polly first showed up at Dallas Animal Services as a stray in April and was adopted. She was found stray again a few weeks later and when DAS called her new adopters, they never came to get her. We can't understand why not one but TWO families let Polly slip away from them because she's a perfect little doll. Polly is 100% potty trained and crate trained. She loves playing with her ball. She will play with it by herself, but likes you to throw it for her. She lives in a foster home with a man, woman, 11 year old girl, 2 resident dogs and 1 cat... and she gets along with everybody. She doesn't interact much with the dogs or cat but doesn't dislike them and we think that in time, she will learn how to play with other dogs. Due to her size, Polly would do best with older children. Polly has a short coat that will only require bathing but not grooming so a bath every few weeks will keep her looking sharp. Polly had her teeth cleaned in June and three were extracted so her dental health is A+ now! Polly is a low to medium energy dog, but enjoys a daily walk. She will be your constant shadow and when a lap opens up, she takes advantage of it! Polly has heartworms and will undergo treatment in July and will be available for her new home in mid to late August... but don't let that stop you from applying for her NOW! She is worth the wait. Polly III is available for pre-adoption only at this time, as she is heartworm positive. Heartworm disease is a non-contagious and treatable condition in dogs, but is fatal if left untreated. For more information about the spread, treatment, and prevention of heartworms visit: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/dog-care/heartworm All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption.
