Meet Aaliyah, or as we like to call her, Ali. This sweet little gal came in to the Society when she was only a few days old. As an orphan, Ali didn't have a mama cat to take care of her so she was fostered with a member of our team. Her foster mom had to wake up every 2 hours for the first few weeks just to bottle feed this gal - and it was well worth it! Ali has grown up to be a spirited young cat who enjoys fetching, snuggling, and the company of feline peers. She is currently in foster care while we work to find her a forever home. Ali is a special needs adoption as she is experiencing "chronic diarrhea" on and off her entire short life. Our veterinarians suspect this may be a lifelong condition. For that reason we're looking for a very special adopter to make her a part of their permanent household. Iconic as a god from ancient Egypt, Anubis is a special dog, worthy of his namesake. He is very energetic and playful, and loves to play with toys. He is good at entertaining himself- tossing toys for himself, then chases them until he gets bored, and moves on to the next exciting thing like doing zoomies. He can be nervous with hands coming over his head. He has a history of being friendly with unfamiliar dogs, and even engaged with the fake dog briefly. He does have a rough and tumble play style, so other dogs should be equally matched. He is a bit of a bulldozer, so a house with older kids, or adults is recommended. Meet Bear! This dog totally lives up to his name. He's 76 pounds of muscle, and is a pretty active dog. He loves to chase toys and play fetch, and will drop for next to be tossed. He will need a lot of daily mental and physical exercise, which will need to be more than walks. He likes food and treats, which will be beneficial when it comes to training. Bear will do best in a home with a yard in a quiet area, as he will likely be dog reactive when on walks/in yard. He has not been socialized around other dogs, and will chase small animals, so most likely would do best as the only pet. He is recommended to go to a home without small children due to large size and jumpy behavior, which has potential for knocking small children down. Bear appears housebroken, and is reported to be crate trained. Hi I'm Bonnie! I'm a neutered male Flemish Giant mix rabbit. My owner surrendered me to The Anti-Cruelty Society because their landlord doesn't allow rabbits. My owner said I love people and free roaming around the home. Flemish Giants are one of the largest rabbit breeds and the breed's nickname of "Gentle Giant" definitely applies to me! Beautiful and petite Carmen came to us when her family moved to a new home. She is shy with strangers and does need some time to trust new people. Once she warms up to you, though, she is an utter sweetheart. She loves to be pet and will run alongside people to rub on their legs. She seems to be mostly playful when she's on her own for now but she does enjoy interactive play with bug-type wand toys. Carmen adores other cats! In fact, having a friendly cat companion really helped her to come out of her shell with us. It is strongly recommended that Carmen go to a home with at least one other cat who can show her that people aren't too bad. She also needs a quiet home in order to ease her transition. Carmen is enjoying hanging out with her new human friends in an office at the shelter; please ask a staff member if you would like to meet her. show less

Get your daily fruit quota with this Chikita Banana. This girl is a lot of fun, and is always ready for a new adventure. She was brought in when her family no longer could afford her care. She has lived with kids before, but will need a house that is equipped for her high energy shenanigans. She seems to enjoy the company of other dogs with matching play-styles, and loves play group time. She is very affectionate and cuddly with everyone she meets. She can be jumpy when first coming out the of the kennel, but she does calm down after a few minutes. She will need to be crated, or confined when left unattended, as she has been reported to chew on inappropriate items when left to her own devices. show less

Meet Clark! This sweet bun was born in our care and has been hand-reared by Society staff and fosters - making him an exceptionally outgoing, social boy. Clark is adventurous and loves meeting new people and exploring new spaces. He's not afraid to jump up on a table or climb through a cat tree if it means seeing some new. Unlike most rabbits, Clark is very easy going when being handled. He even enjoys sitting on laps for pets. He's incredibly treat motivated and will do almost anything for a strawberry or apple cube. Clark is working on his litter box skills but is catching on quickly. A home where he can roam free, in a rabbit-proofed space, would be ideal for this kind boy. Clark has lived with our resident cats and will do fine with a bunny-friendly feline. He is pretty spooked by dogs. As with any adolescent rabbit Clark will need positive reinforcement training to help him learn what is and is not appropriate for chewing. Providing him with apple sticks, natural bamboo toys and digging boxes will be key to keeping him stimulated and out of trouble. Come by to visit Clark in person today! Cheeks! Coop has the most squeezable cheeks ever! Coop is an interesting dog-he likes treats (can be grabby with them), and getting pet. He loves being around people. He hasn't learned any commands yet, or how to use the stairs without trepidation, but we love him anyways. He does appear housebroken. He has a history of guarding rawhides in the home, but didn't show that during his assessment here. Coop hasn't had much exposure being part of a family, and seems that he spent most of his time alone in the yard, or in the basement. Coop isn't to fond of being in his kennel, so he may bark when you walk by, or put on the breaks when it is time to go back in, but try not to hold that against him. Daily mental and physical stimulation are a necessity for a happy dog and owner. Teenagers often test limits, so it's important you set clear boundaries and expectations from day one. They are usually eager to learn, so training classes are highly recommended. Daily positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviors is important as well. He appears to be housebroken, and loves treats. He can even catch a treat flying in the air! He knows sit, touch, paw, and is a quick learner, eager to expand to vocabulary. He is very athletic and energetic dog, and will need active home. He may even be a good running buddy. Jonny can be a bit jumpy, so he is recommended to go home without small children. This is due to Jonny's energy level, and risk of knocking children down. He does appears to have high prey drive so a home without cats or small dogs is recommended. Kaiser is a dog trainers dream! He is smart, and so eager to learn new skills. He would likely fit into numerous types of households. Kaiser is very sweet, and a happy-go-lucky guy. He's strong and active, and will need physically capable adopters. Though he's an adult, he's still quite goofy and playful; he'll need plenty of mental and physical exercise, and could use some brushing up on basic manners. He can be vocal when he sees and interacts with other dogs. He has been in playgroups, but he can pretty rude and physical with the other dogs. It appears that he may not quite understand how an adult should interact with other dogs, therefore adopters will need to help him practice a more appropriate approach and actively work on better his overall dog manners. Introducing the handsome Mabu! Mabu came to the shelter when his owner became ill and could no longer care for him. Mabu is a talkative fellow who can sometimes meow rather loudly - but that's just because he has so much to tell you! He's loaded with personality and one thing for certain -- you will never be lonely when Mabu is around! Lovable and entertaining, Mabu is certainly one of a kind!Along with his many wonderful attributes, Mabu does have some pre-existing medical conditions that are not yet affecting his well-being, but of which his adopter should be aware, as they may require treatment at a private vet. Among them are a heart murmur (Grade 2 of 6), with mild heart enlargement, as well as the beginning of some declining kidney function. Mabu is a wonderful cat who was clearly very loved. We are hoping to find him a home where he will get plenty of love and care, and in return, he will show you what an awesome guy he is! We just love Mabu here at the shelter, we hope you do too! Say hello to this lovely boy, Mack! He came to us when his previous owners had a change in lifestyle that did not include him. Mack is a very sweet boy who enjoys a nice, calm pet and maybe a few tasty treats, too! However, Mack was quite stressed here at the shelter, so his true personality won't truly show until he is settled in his new home. It might take a little work for Mack to learn to be comfortable with you, as he can be very shy initially. He has been noted in his previous home for guarding, like stolen items and rawhides. Because of this and Mack being a shy boy, he would do best in a quiet, adult only home. Give Mack a chance and he is sure to win your heart over with his sweet, calm demeanor. Once we were able to win Sarah's trust we got to know a little bit more about this sweet girls personality. She is a busy little bee, and doesn't seem to keep her focus on one thing for too long. She may not have had positive experiences with dogs in the past, as she does seem leash reactive. Her new owners will need to help her work on that. She is still pretty skittish, and may do best in a quiet home without a lot of foot traffic, or other animals. She is very affectionate, and likes the attention of people. I want to be pet by everyone I see on the street - sometimes so much I'll jump on people. I am still learning what it means to have good manners, luckily my foster parents have me on the right path!Whether indoors or out, I make very little noise, so I'm perfect for folks who want/need a quiet dog. In fact, I prefer a quiet home, too, since loud noises can make me anxious. My perfect owners will have a calm home, with no other pets, and ideally an enclosed yard. They'll also be patient, since I can get jumpy and mouthy when I'm over stimulated. He's curious and enjoys batting around fun kitty toys. Along with his many wonderful attributes, Smitty comes with an immunodeficiency virus called FIV. There is no treatment required to halt or diminish the infection, however, as a new owner there are several ways to manage his health in the future. Zilla lived outside majority of her life, so she has not experienced a lot of socialization with people and other dogs. She is not housetrained yet. She is nervous when you first met her, but quickly blossoms into a fun dog who likes to play with toys, and run around the room. Zilla has lived with a cat before, who she occasionally chased, but also slept next too sometimes.Advanced due to poor socialization with people and dogs; need of patient guardian; adolescent training; most likely not potty trained.
