My StoryI am a gentleman who loves to go out on a walk, but I don�t need to get anywhere too quickly. I love to have a good time and play, but I�m ok with just hanging out if that�s more of your thing. I have been at my current place for about 6 months now and I�m really looking for a change of scenery. I know a couple of commands in Korean and I am very good at �sit�. How many dogs do you know that are bilingual? Also, have you seen my eyebrows? Handsome huh?My Perfect MatchMy last relationship ended after 5 years so I am really looking for somewhere to call home again. Atlas is a really special guy. He gives off a wonderful positive, sweet energy and always has a smile on his face. He enjoys meeting new people and doling out kisses and hugs. His favorite past times are running agility courses, going on hikes, and playing with his toys. He`s an active guy who also knows how to chill. Atlas would make a great Austin out and about pup. He likes going on adventures, is figuring out swimming, relaxes at coffee shops, and likes picking out his own toys on trips to Home Goods or Lofty Dog. He`s not reactive on leash which makes for a pretty easy about town companion. He really is the sweetest boy with so many good manners.Other notes: He doesn`t guard his food or toys, goes into his crate willingly and never barks when we leave for short periods of time, and even hops into the car on his own to go for a ride. Also, I`ve taken him jogging and he really loves it + is never out of breath when I am. And, as we all know, he is a cuddle monster - just needs to be touching you whenever possible. Bear is wonderfully crate trained and house trained. He loves treats and toys and still has lots of puppy energy! He can be reactive to other dogs and people on walks, but has lots of potential to learn better walking manners, and walks best in a harness with a toy in his mouth! Miss Bella is a spunky sweetie. This little girl had a rough life before she arrived at the Austin Animal Center. Now, however, she is receiving the best of care through the Classic Canines foster program. Bella appears to be somewhat visually impaired so she might appreciate a lower-traffic home. Still, she manages well around her foster home. She is currently living with other doggie foster-siblings and gets along well with them. Bella wants you to know she is very house-trained. She knows to go to the door and bark to let you know she needs to go out! Bella likes to play with chew toys, but what she really loves is to be around her person. Bella greets her people at the door when they come home and she enjoys a night-time cuddle. Hello all! My name is Bella and I have a few things to tell ya. Lots have people have told me I`m a good girl and have used words like cute, beautiful, cuddly, calm, funny, sweet and easy (going) to describe me. People say I`m a sweet old girl who wants to snuggle and be loved on. I`m slow-paced, generally calm, and happy to lie around on soft things near good humans. I`m good at letting you know when I have to go potty, and I don`t mind being in a crate and am easy to walk on a leash. You should adopt me if you`re looking for a laid back companion dog that generally only barks when I need to let you know someone is at the house, and is confident and independent in themselves to be content just chilling (but won`t turn down a good snuggle session either). Birdie is one of our favorite dogs! Just read what all her volunteer fans have to say about her!`LOVE this girl!! Birdie just makes me laugh, especially when she`s so anxious for a belly rub she hardly lets me leash her up!! Birdie is very affectionate and a joy to walk. She takes treats gently and is so happy to be with me every time I see her. She loves the play yard, although much of the time she just wants to snuggle and get her belly rubbed! A sweetheart!!``During her ride to Fox News, Birdie was calm in the car. On set, Birdie politely greeted the anchor and producer, and sat quietly on the couch next to me during her segment. She was very treat motivated and offered her belly for rubs. She needed help loading into my car and did some whining on the drive but rode nicely. At the park she was friendly to all people and non-reactive to all the dogs on the walk (8 dogs total). We kept a distance between dogs, but she never pulled, barked or was bothered by nearby dogs. Meet the Golden Girls - Blanche, Rose, and Sophia! These three lovely ladies arrived at the shelter after being abandoned in a rental unit. But they aren�t letting that get them down! This bonded trio depended on each other for emotional support in the shelter and now that they are in a foster home, they are really hoping to go to their forever family together. Blanche, who appears to be the oldest, is so loving and outgoing. Like her namesake, she just can�t control her wiggly, shimmy when she is so excited. Her tail moves like a fan behind her at all times! Blanche loves kisses, cuddles, and just wants to be in your lap. She loves to snuggle under blankets if she doesn�t have you to cuddle with. She is so caring that when Sophia banged her head, Blanche was there to lick and kiss her boo-boo.Sophia is a cheeky little love who often sticks her tongue out. It matches her personality! Sophia LOVES to zoom past you and dare you to touch her as she speeds by. She is fun-loving, game-playing, very active, and often takes on the role of protector of the trio. When it�s rest time though, Sophia would love to share your lap, too!Little Rose has the sweetest face. She�s happy to let the other two take charge, but don�t let her initial shyness fool you. Rose does the cutest twirls when she is excited. She is very mellow and is slowly coming into her personality, learning what it means to be loved. He is crate-trained. Bobo is working on his house-training skills with frequent breaks. Kid & Cuddy are a bonded pair of dogs looking for a home where they can stay together! These dogs arrived at the shelter, and it was apparent how connected they were to each other. They spent several months at the shelter, watching people walk by their kennel, until one day they were taken home by a foster parent! Their foster dad is learning so much about them! Cuddy (the lighter female) is calm and gentle, while Kid (A778151, the darker male) is bit more spunky. They are both total couch potatoes! They LOVE to lie in the sun in the backyard. When they are inside, they are usually on the couch, napping or simply watching you do your thing. They are potty trained and know how to use a doggie door. They walk nicely on leash and don`t react to other dogs they see on walks. But maybe most of all, these two lovebirds LOVE to sleep! They can be caught napping at any hour of the day, and they are always happy to sleep in so you don`t have to worry about them waking you up too early. Davey is the best of everything! He is friendly, playful, confident, affectionate, quiet, and silly. In the home he loved to lay right next to you on the couch or in bed. He loves to take naps! Outside, Davey is more independent and loves toys and tennis balls (his favorite)! He will find a spot in the yard and roll around in the grass and then bask in the sun. Davey went on a sleepover with one of his favorite volunteers, and they said `Davey was so much fun! I gave him a bath in the front yard and he did great! He received a massage from someone who is licensed and fell asleep during it. If he sleeps with his person, he will stay in bed until they decide it�s time to get up. Meet Diesel! This sweet boy spent a month in a foster home who loved him dearly. They wanted his future adopters to know this``Diesel needed some time to warm up after spending almost 3 months in the shelter but he did so very quickly. We have two pups and the bond that they have created over the past month has been beautiful to watch. He is a gentle giant, a sweetheart, and will steal anyone`s heart that he gets to spend enough time with. He requires some work and training but the investment you get back when you put in that time with him is indescribable. We opened our home to Diesel but now our hearts will always we be open to him as well. He loves to cuddle up with you on the couch and is perfectly happy being part of a dog pack. It will be one of the hardest decisions in our lives to bring him back after fostering him and if we had the space to keep 3 pups we would have absolutely adopted him ourselves. Felix is a master at the litter box and has a soft meow but isn`t very chatty. He is friendly, affectionate and likes to be held. Shelter staff has found him to be a big love bug. Even though he doesn`t have his front claws he still likes to stretch and scratch at something - more often it`s your shoes. Felix needs a cat savvy adopter or a foster who is willing and able to speak his language and give him the time to help him gain really good cat manners. Heddy is a bit of a tough nut to crack since she`s still figuring out how she feels about humans and is mostly very shy and wary, but she shows a ton of promise as a very caring and gentle addition to a family. She`s not at all aggressive and is obviously a very gentle animal. She loves playing with her canine friends and it`s enjoyable to see her getting so much out of their wrestling matches. She very much seems to want to be able to love and interact with her human family but just hasn`t finished figuring out how to do that and to establish her full confidence level in that role. If given a lot of patience, care, and a calm environment, she will definitely continue to blossom over time into a heart warming addition to a family that loves her. She also has an adorable tail that curls up and around into a complete circle when she is feeling confident. And she doesn`t mind living with cats! Once you`re in the inner circle, he LOVES to get pets and sit next to you on the couch. He also makes a great running buddy and has great leash manners! While he needs time to warm up to strangers (especially men), he is a smart boy and a quick learner! He stays at home by himself and doesn`t get into stuff he`s not supposed to. Kid & Cuddy are a bonded pair of dogs looking for a home where they can stay together! These dogs arrived at the shelter, and it was apparent how connected they were to each other. They spent several months at the shelter, watching people walk by their kennel, until one day they were taken home by a foster parent! Their foster dad is learning so much about them! Cuddy (A778148 - the lighter female) is calm and gentle, while Kid (the darker male) is bit more spunky. They are both total couch potatoes! They LOVE to lie in the sun in the backyard. When they are inside, they are usually on the couch, napping or simply watching you do your thing. They are potty trained and know how to use a doggie door. They walk nicely on leash and don`t react to other dogs they see on walks. But maybe most of all, these two lovebirds LOVE to sleep! They can be caught napping at any hour of the day, and they are always happy to sleep in so you don`t have to worry about them waking you up too early. He is finally able to frolic in playgroup, go on long walks, and cuddle with a doggy roommate.Leopold`s medical journey will finally be complete once he`s adopted and can undergo heartworm treatment (which we`ll cover). People are Mamas` favorite. She wants to always be nearest them if she can and her favorite pastime is napping at her owner`s feet. Mamas enjoys long walks and even occasional jogs. When she visits a dog-friendly restaurant or bar, she will likely position herself in the best spot to meet the most people. She has even been known to walk up to perfect strangers at other tables to nap at their feet. Mamas has never met a person she didn`t like and the kids on her street know her by name because she is so gentle, warm, and loving towards them (gives lots of kisses). She has even done well at the office, too! She has never had an accident inside the home and she asks for permission before joining you on the bed or couch. She doesn`t bark much and doesn`t have an overwhelming presence (jumping on people, getting rowdy when guests enter the home). That`s not to say she doesn`t have a warm welcome when her owner walks in the door. She does laps around the house when her caretaker arrives home after a day of work to show her excitement that you have finally made it home. Overall, Mamas is a wonderful companion and would be the perfect touch to a home that is missing a little extra love and personality! It remains a mystery as to why someone hasn`t adopted her yet! Mariposa`s hearts delight is to play with treat-based toys and go for short walks. She gets very excited to see the leash. She gets along with dogs, small and large and nothing seems to rattle this girl. If you looked up `happy go lucky` you will see a picture of Mariposa. She loves car rides, naps and following her people around the house. Mariposa recently experienced some medical neglect but she is well on the way to recovery thanks the Classic Canines program for sponsoring her care. She is house trained and crate trained although she doesn`t need to be crated and doesn`t mind at all being left alone. She does well with children. Peedee loves nothing more than to follow you and cuddle. He has lots of energy and loves to play with his toys but will also settle down for snuggles and Netflix. He loves his daily walks and is great with cats. He loves other dogs and would do best with living with another dog or regular playdates. Peedee is very comical and will make you laugh all the time. Sweet senior Penelope was brought to the shelter after her owners moved to a new place that didn`t allow her because she looks a certain way. She lived with 2 kids and another dog. She was potty-trained, stayed in a crate, and knew all the tricks (Sit, Stay, Down, Come, Heel). Many months later, and she has been sitting at the shelter waiting for an angel. She has great leash manners and isn`t reactive to other dogs on walks. She also rides great in the car! She recently go to go on a sleepover and got GREAT marks! She did zoomies when she got to the house and explored all the things. Seems house trained, no accidents at all. All she asked for were for some belly rubs. She snoozed on the couch while the humans watched TV. Penelope does this grunt thing which is pretty adorable. She was seriously so easy. Penelope is easily managed and would make the perfect addition to a family. She just wants love and will give it in return. This bonded trio depended on each other for emotional support in the shelter and now that they are in a foster home, they are really hoping to go to their forever family together. Blanche, who appears to be the oldest, is so loving and outgoing. Like her namesake, she just can�t control her wiggly, shimmy when she is so excited. Her tail moves like a fan behind her at all times! Blanche loves kisses, cuddles, and just wants to be in your lap. She loves to snuggle under blankets if she doesn�t have you to cuddle with. She is so caring that when Sophia banged her head, Blanche was there to lick and kiss her boo-boo.Sophia is a cheeky little love who often sticks her tongue out. It matches her personality! Sally lives in foster with 2 humans, 2 cats, and a passive large dog. Sally is well mannered in the home. The initial adjustment required some patience and understanding. He trust is earned over time. Efforts made to bond are completely worth it because she loves with her whole heart and does bond quickly with her people. Though Sally has a little age on her, she has lots of energy for a dog her age - she enjoys walks but doesn`t require them unless there is no yard space. And speaking of that, she can live in nearly any home environment. She loves exploring around outside with a happy wagging tail. She equally enjoys a good snooze and can saw some logs with the best of them! Sally is also familiar and comfortable with a crate. A letter from Sam`s foster family:`Sam`s favorite thing, by far - is to give kisses! So much so that we have to say `Okay, no more kisses for now!` We have timed it - he will kiss you for over 2 minutes straight if you let him. He absolutely loves to cuddle and be by your side. He loves to sleep in the bed if allowed, but is just as happy on a dog bed next to you. He loves playing with his foster siblings- who are 15 and 30 lbs less than what he his. They like to play rough. And to be honest- he takes a minute to learn to love a new dog. But once they slowly meet he becomes the submissive one in the friendship. Our 1.5 year old pup loves to pull on his collar, although we don`t allow it, he just sits there and takes it. He is the sweetest dog to humans too- sometimes he gets a bit excited and nibbles, so would do best with older kids or adults, but I have never met a more loving dog. He loves walks- but also loves his sleep- a lot. He wouldn`t have any issues living in an apartment. He runs in our back yard at times but usually does his business and comes back in right away. He stays in a crate while we are at work during the day with no problems. He has no food aggression at all and LOVES his chew toys- which he kindly gives up if one of our bratty dogs takes it from him. We joke about trading in our 2 dogs for him. We are only allowed 3 dogs per our HOA, and we do not want stop fostering- otherwise we would claim him as our forever pup in a heartbeat.
