You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Janice (janice.frazier@sbcglobal.net) for more information about this pet. Online Adoption Application › Loving and adorable, but very special needsBriar is outgoing, loving, playful and loves life.  He purrs close to non-stop and head butts you for loving.  But he had a perianal hernia and GI tract complications since he was rescued as a bottle baby.  Multiple attempts to help him with vets locally would work for a while, but finally we had to take him to UC Davis vets for another surgery.  This created quite a large vet bill for the group, requires special food, and significant care.Any donation will help significantly, towards his bill, and his on-going expenses. Please help us fund this little guy - - never seen such a trooper in a little kitten, he won’t give up; help us make sure we don’t have to!    THANKS for helping!UPDATE Nov 5 2015, working with the vets we have come up with a mix of canned and kibble to help  Briar's poop firm up some so he makes the litter tray more and has gained some weight in last months.  He had stalled at about 5lbs, but with the mix of canned and kibble we've got him up to 6 lbs.  Also we had a scare when he plugged up with a hairball in rectum - with work we got it out.  But now he gets every meal hairball treatment gel till shedding season is over, and we have trimmed his beautiful tail (sadly) so he will not ingest the long 4' tail hairs.   Still he's a wonderful, happy, beautiful cat!    UPDATE Dec 14 , he is gaining weight and is now up to 4lbs at 6 months of age, yeah!Update Jan 15, 2016- at Vet check he was 4.8 lbs (yeah!) and is now got Royal Canin Mommy and Babycat kibble, as well as canned IAMS intestinal plus food to eat, both easy to digest, so poop a bit more consistant timing and firmer .Update March 6, 2016-  After trying baby kibble with Briar and finding it was a very fine balance to keep him from getting too firm of poop, we have started him on Metamucil in his canned food at the recommendation of UC Davis.   So far we find that is nicely helping to manage the really loose stool.Update Sept 20, 2016 - Briar is much better on Meatmucil and gained some weight as he's able to not have the food just run through im!  Though he still doesn't always make it to the litter tray its much firmer poop and easy to clean up.   He's just a total love bug and he's worth the work! Update August 2017We have him on a diet of canned food mixed with metamucil and it does a realitively good job firming up his stool but sometimes he still can't make the litter box so he does have his own lineoulum floored room.  And he does get out to hang out in the house when we can watch him to clean up after him if needed.  We did have a scare earlier this month when he had a bout of colitis but the Vet said that can hit any cat and figured it was an isolated instance and so far she is right!Update January 2019 Its a new year and briar is already 4.5 yrs old, wow time flies!  We have worked out a specific food for him mixed with metamucil and he is doing much better about getting to the litter box now.  Still sometimes has accidents but we are pleased that it is somewhat better and if you are looking to help support him the food is Fancy feast (Gravy Lovers chicken feast in grilled chicken flavor gravy).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.THIS animal listing is a COURTESY LISTING - not a 13th St Cat Rescue animal.See information about whom to contact in bio THANK YOU Casey Jones is a gorgeous long-haired flame-point kitty with amazing blue eyes.  He is fixed and chipped.  Several years ago, his right-rear leg and several inches of tail were amputated due to very severe injuries.  He doesn't usually let that bother him, and he gets around fairly well.  He needs to be an indoor-only cat, though.   He weighs less than eight pounds, in part due to the missing leg, but he is also a relatively small kitty.  He is an adult, at a guess somewhere between 6 and 8 years old.   He is talkative, but does not have the typical low-pitched Siamese voice.  He is particularly talkative when you are handing out chicken-flavored Temptations treats, or when you are putting down his wet food, which we usually mixed with extra water for him to lap up.  We re-introduced wet food when our vet noticed his weight was going down; it went back up again with the wet food added back in.   He generally does not like to sit in any human's lap, but he does like to sit right next to his people after he warms up to them.  He would often curl up on the couch next to me, or in a kitty bed right next to the couch.  He likes being brushed, but mostly on the cheeks and not on the belly where he can sometimes get mats.  He can be picked up, but usually he gets unhappy after a short period and wants to be put back on the floor.  He purrs when you pet him, and loves head scritchies.   The reason we are unable to provide a home for him is that he needs to be an only cat.  He simply does not get along consistently with the other cats in our household.  We have not had him around dogs or children, so we do not know how he acts around them.  I suspect he would like children, as he tends to approach us when we use higher-pitched voices, but that could be wishful thinking on my part.   He is good about using the litter box, and prefers it to be clean.   We would love to see him get into a loving home where he can be the only cat. Contact info would be this email address, damp_dave@yahoo.com .  I would put any inquiries through to his foster mama, Pat, who has him now.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

Online Adoption Application › Gorgeous dog-like kitty!Charlotte is a pretty, petite brown tabby with white tuxedo front and white paws. She is a very loving, friendly, active, playful cat, and loves to cuddle with you. She likes frequent playtime and especially loves little puff balls that she bats around then carries with her in her mouth.   She's a bit of a 'dog-like' cat that likes to be near you and greets you at the door when you get home, and will often follow you around from room-to-room. Her favorite places to be scratched are around her head and ears, and she enjoys kitty massages. Charlotte gets along well with some other cats and gentle dogs too, but may prefer being an 'only' cat so that she gets your full attention, as she is so bonded to people. She had bloodwork and a dental done within last year and is in perfect health. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › So Sweet Honey was her First Name Demi is one of the many cats rescued from an apartment complex in San Jose. Demi came up to the 13th St Cats volunteer asking for pets before being fed. The decision was made to rescue Demi when she tried to get in the volunteer’s car and leave with her. Demi loves all kinds to toys, mice being her favorite. Interaction with humans engages Demi nightly. She will sit under the bookshelf where the wand toys are kept waiting and silently asking for play time. She loves being petted and sleeping next to her foster. Demi is slowly getting used to being picked up and cuddled. This task will require patience from the adopter. Demi has the cutest vocalizations when asking for food and treats. Street cats know to be quiet so Demi doesn’t have much experience talking. She makes sound like a soprano frog, “reebit, reebit.” Demi gets along with other cats, older and younger. She loves company and is affectionate and docile. It is best that she get adopted into a house with multiple cats and/or people. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Sweet and Gentle Believing Franny to be a feral cat, she was trapped with her kitten at an apartment complex in San Jose. When taken from the trap she was found to not have a feral bone in her body. She found it amusing that we went to all that trouble. Franny is a sweetheart. She loves to be petted and scratched. She quietly sits and watches her humans and the cats around her. Franny sleeps in her own bed and doesn’t crowd her foster parents. She is learning to play but being a mom came too early so she had other things to learn first. She now likes wand ribbon toys and has been seen batting stuffed mice around wondering why they don’t run. Franny has the cutest vocalizations when petted. She makes sounds somewhere between a high pitched “ha” and “heep.” Franny gets along with other cats, older and younger. She would be fine with others but may prefer being a single cat. Franny tested positive for FIV. She shows no signs of it being an issue.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. We're two cute little siblings, with a LOT of love to give, and we're sure you'll fall in love with us. As newborns, we were rescued, bottle fed and fostered by the lovingly volunteers at 13th st cats. We loved our time there! When we were ready for adoption, we went to the adoption center, but then something happened…  we started having intestinal issues, and then were rehomed to a different foster. Our new uncle and auntie took care of us, helping with recovery. It has been some fun 3-4 months at their home, where we stay together all day long and play whenever we can. We love to play catch, chase each other, play kitten wrestling, mess around with our cousins' toys (yep, our foster family has other cats, too, and we're slowly getting their confidence), until we finally get tired and look for a warm lap to cuddle and purr. We get along very well with other pets and kids. We'd love to be adopted together, as we live under the same roof since we were born. Online Adoption Application › She's a honey yet full of energy and strong personality! She comes when called! This kitty is a sweetie - thus the name!  But don't let the name fool you - she is very full of energy and a strong will.  And, while very cute with her little white throat spot too, she's game for anything!    She is so happy to greet you, she'll climb your leg if you let her (we of course are trying to train her to do so only when we want!).  And even comes when you call her name. Originally rescued from the SJACS when she was fixed as an itty bitty, she was not thriving; with the right oversight in her care and feeding, add a little love in there too, she bounced back to be the happy but opinionated kitty she is today! Outgoing and curious, she has a strong personality and would be a good addition to a family with plenty of time for her and lot of knowledge of cats.   She is totally fine with gentle dogs, and will be OK with the right feline companion, one also energetic and ready to play.  She will show better at the foster home than at a fair, so please do the application on line and we will review and set up home visit, so you can see her wild and crazy self!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. He adores attention and human companionship.  He a very handsome young man w/ a muscular build, a shiny and sleek coat, piercing yellow eyes and a heart of gold.  Joey is full of purrs, head butts, kisses and conversation.  He is a very good conversationalist and also a great listener!  He is best suited for a single cat home, indoor preferred, and will easily integrate himself into anyone's lap and family!   Joey's background definitely pulls @ heart strings.  He was abandoned at a horse ranch and left to fend for himself against coyotes, bobcats and harsh winter weather.  Thankfully he found shelter in the ranch's hay barn and caught the eye of a family who cares for the the barn cats.  This family quickly realized Joey had been battered by his new surroundings and approached him w/ carrier in tote.  Joey was willingly placed into a cat carrier and taken to the vet for immediate care.  He has healed perfectly and is currently being fostered but is waiting for his forever home.     Joey is a 2 year old, neutered, tuxedo male.  He is currently up to date on all shots and has tested negative for feline viruses.  For more information, please contact 408.410.6450 regarding Joey Tuxedo.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

I am still a kitten at heart and like to play for hours with my toys. I especially like foam balls and hunting down my squeaky mouse and bird.  I even play fetch, liked to walk around carrying the balls and brings them to my foster home to toss like a dog. I really enjoy all the attention that I can get; I love to sit in your lap and will purr loudly so you know how happy I am. I enjoy being close to my foster mom so I can get my chin scratched, back rubbed and like to keep her company so I am always in on what’s going on in the house. I am litter box trained, use a scratching post, I like sleeping in my cat bed, on a soft blanket, or on my foster moms bed. I am a very well behaved kitty, with good kitty manner and a wonderful disposition. My dream home would be preferably with a family as the only cat because I enjoy lots of attention. I would like being housed with one of my kittens, as I do play and enjoy their company now that they are old enough to be on their own. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.I found Mini as a kitten on the University of Tel Aviv Campus is Israel 13 years ago. Since then she has moved with me to Ann Arbor, MI and Sacramento CA - she is quite the traveler and is bilingual. Mini was born with Cerebellar hypoplasia, a mild form of brain damage which means she is a bit wobbly and cannot jump (so she can't go on the furniture :) ). Her condition does not require any special medical attention or medication. Mini doesn't know she is an extra special cat, she loves to run around, will ask for you to pick her up and hold her and is very affectionate and sweet. She is quite talkative. Mini has lived with Snoopy for most of her life. She is OK with dogs and kids and will probably do OK with other cats as well. She loves to go outside, but needs supervision or a well fenced yard, since she cannot defend herself. She uses her litter box well. Mini has a history of crystals in her urine, so it's best if she eats food formulated for urinary tract issues. Mini is a long haired black cat. Due to a medical emergency, I am forced to leave the US back to live close to family there. It breaks my heart that I cannot take my cats with me this time. I hope I can find them a good loving home that will enjoy then as much as I do.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Munchkin has three favorite ways to spend her day-starting off with chasing the Go Cat wand feather toy, then napping as much as possible, and then when not doing one of these two things, she loves to chill and observe the activity around her! She loves to just watch!  Munchkin will find a safe place just on the edge of the goings on of the day, where she will spend her time napping, taking in all the commotion in the room, all, while we think, contemplating life and seeing how silly everyone around her is acting. As busy and taxing as this kind of life is for her, she still will somehow make time to hop down and chase the wand toys on a string! Munchkin could be considered to be on the shy side, but probably more cautious and watchful than shy. She likes to be out on the cat tower at the edge of the room for the day, perform her strenuous duties, while still making herself available for nice pets and an occasional treat. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Affectionate, friendlyHer name is Nova (she also goes by BoBo) and she has been a great cat. Nova has been spayed and vaccinated and I give her a Flea/Tick prevention every 30 days. She is a curious cat who loves to play, chirp at and watch birds outside, bask in the sun or be outside, and is a big time cuddler at bed time. She is not the type of cat who likes to be held and will come to you when she wants attention. She typically wants attention while you are sitting or lying down. Once you start petting her, she cannot get enough of it! She loves to just be around people and has been compared to a dog for how frequently she will simply follow guests and people. She is not skittish and definitely not one to hide, even from strangers. Nova has lived with another cat and dog before, in which they became great friends and I assume she would be friendly to other cats/dogs as well. She has good litter box habits and prefers a covered box. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Loving, beautiful, lap catPatches' owner has become very ill and can no longer care for her. Her friends are in desperate need of finding a loving home for her cat, Patches. Patches is currently at her owner's house by herself. The friends go over everyday to feed her and clean the litter box but she is very scared and hides under the bed. Patches is a spayed 9 year old Calico cat. She is shy with strangers but is a lap cat with her owner. It will take her a few weeks to assimilate to a new environment and owner but after that she will become very affectionate. Patches would do best with an middle age to older owner, preferably a woman who has no other cats in the house. That is the environment is currently living in. Once Patches is comfortable with her new owner she will cuddle, sit on your lap and you will be able to pick her up. She is an indoor only cat, uses her litter box, weighs about 12-14 pounds, and is a very pretty medium hair Calico, She has had her rabies shot. We have her on Purina 1 Indoor Cat Food. We don't want to put Patches in a shelter but time is running out as her owner's apartment needs to be vacant very soon. Patches would be a great addition to single pet home. She is a love. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Adores Being PettedZozo was rescued as a kitten in 2005, this girl was raised by her human dad for 12 years until she was sadly kicked out of the family through no fault of her own. Being a family friend, I took her in and have been getting to know her and looking for a new family.    She is definitely a senior who knows what she wants in life. While she might seem reserved and a bit grouchy when you first meet her, once she puts you firmly in her friend circle, she is simply adorable   Not exactly a lap kitty, Zozo still *adores* being pet and being near her people. Head rubs are rewarded with endless purrs and surprisingly strong head bonks. While not a fan of being picked up, she’ll tolerate it for a little bit. I was told she used to sleep on her dad’s chest and that he used to use her as a pillow, so once she loves you, I think her tolerance for cuddling is pretty high. She is also a really good conversationalist if you’re looking for someone to chat with. Zozo is a huge fan of sun bathing and food. Her stomach is definitely a way to her heart.   Best in a home without dogs. She kinda hates them. Has shown herself to be cat tolerant. Has lived with an infant and toddler, but I don’t consider her child friendly. She will avoid them.   This senior darling was pretty neglected in the last few years and deserves a loving forever home and people to call her own for keeps. Honestly, I love her and her unique personality, but my house is full.   She uses the litter box like a lady, had no current health issues and has a sense of humor.   Please ask me any questions. She has her own Instagram page at #myzozoproject.
