Bruce's foster dad says he is the very definition of play hard, nap hard. This cuddly pup loves playing fetch and throwing his toys around, but snoozes hard when it's time to relax. You will notice his bright eyes, shiny coat, and eager-to-please demeanor right away. It's hard to believe sweet Camden had a 'ruff" start to his short life, being chained up outside, with a few injuries, including a broken leg! That has not hindered his happy disposition! Camden is full of puppy energy, and playfulness... going for walks on his leash nicely, rounding up toys to chew and play with, playing with dogs and people who will give him ALL the attention his little wiggly body can handle! Meet Chance. This guy is a white pit bull mix. He was left extremely emaciated on the doorstep of DAS and Dallas Pets Alive swooped in to give this boy some much needed loving and saved his life in the process. Even though he was severely neglected in his past, you would never know it, other than his weight. He is super affectionate towards humans and he likes to be around people at all times, following you around everywhere. He is sweet natured and very playful. He gives everything to his humans. He is 100% loyal to you and just asks that you love him unconditionally in return. He has the sweetest face and is already super adorable. His foster parents are working hard with the vet and resources from DPA to get him back to a healthy weight. He is getting healthier each and every day. He is currently working on housetraining, but he is very smart and is getting the hang of it. He gets along amazingly with other dogs. He obeys commands and knows "sit and "come. Hoppy (the teen boy) is very outgoing, likes to engage in play, loves chewing cardboard and wood, LOVES sweet potatoes, and will snuggle for periods of time. He also enjoys licking his foster mom. He is generally litter box trained as long as one is available and he knows where it is. However, like all bunnies, Hop cannot be left to roam unattended as he also loves leather, woodwork, plastic toys, furniture, and electrical cords. This sweet girl is looking for a furever home! She is one of a kind! At first, she may take some getting used to her new Mom or Dad and surroundings, but once she gets comfortable her personality is something else. She doesn't meow much but makes the most adorable chirping noises. She's not the biggest fan of being picked up but will come to you when she wants cuddles and pets and will bury herself into your lap or the side of your leg as close as she can get. Her tail has a mind of it's own, whipping around almost like it doesn't have bones. She has been able to stay with one of her brothers that we have been fostering as well, so she would have no problem going to a home that will be shared with another cat. Hi! My name is Leo! I am the most handsome, dapper gentleman you ever did see! My foster mama says I am a social butterfly, but I am most definitely a cat; so she's really silly! I love to talk and tell you about my day, and especially to beg you for treats. Yummy! I enjoy sleeping next to my foster mom and chilling out next to her while she watches TV. I also really enjoy playing follow the leader with her around the house. I haven't yet met dogs or kids, but I'm such a friendly boy, I'm sure I could get along with just about anyone. My foster Mom tells me I am FIV Positive (I guess that means I'm happy or something?) Leo III has tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), a condition that weakens a cat's immune system. FIV is only transmitted through blood transfusions, serious penetrating bite wounds, or intercourse (but of course all DPA cats are fixed!). Other cats cannot get FIV through casual contact with an FIV+ cat. It cannot be transmitted to humans, dogs, or any other pets in the home. This is by no means a death sentence, and most cats with FIV can live to spend many long, happy years with their families, but it does mean his immune system is weaker, making it extremely important to stay indoors, stay up to date on vaccines and preventatives, and be fed a balanced diet with regular vet visits. They can live their entire life without ever coming down with any symptoms of FIV. As long as they are not exposed to any other virus or bacteria that their weakened immune system can't handle, they can live healthy, normal lives! Found living in a feral cat colony by Dallas Animal Services, Mina was deemed too young and itty bitty to return to this environment, so she is now living it up with her current foster family! Mina is gradually getting more comfortable with humans and other animals, slowly coming out of her shy, timid shell. She is great with using a litter box, taking to it right away! Mina does fine with small dogs, though she prefers to hide from them rather than play. However, she loves the company of other cats, getting along swimmingly with her foster family's current feline. Percy, a 6 and a half year old, 12 lb chihuahua mix, is proof that all lives are worth saving! He was very feral, hovered in the corner with his face buried behind another house mate at the shelter. You probably would not have known he was there if you did not look close enough. Percy had no clue what it was like to encounter normal social interactions with humans or be loved. Since coming into foster care Percy has gone from a scared baby in the corner to going on what was most likely his first walk ever! You can bet it was not as quick as putting a harness on and heading out the door. It was an intentional work in progress meant to help build his confidence. This gave him the confidence he needed join his foster siblings and start learning how to just be a dog. He now goes outside with confidence, is potty trained, uses the doggy door, enjoys sunbathing on the patio, meal time with the pack, playing with the other pups in the house, and so much more! Percy has had many "firsts over the past couple of months. Each one are the result of his hard work. They show how far he has come and how far he can go with a family that will continue working with him. Percy is still learning how to be a dog. He is still shy to sudden movements and is still working on trust. He will come to you and sniff in a calm setting but is not open to being handled yet. Percy is good with dogs; untested with cats but would most likely be fine; older kids would be ok but smaller kids would probably make him too nervous. Hi, my name's Sir Floofs but my foster mom calls me Gulliver (more on that later). Though I ama bit of a giant, I truly am the gentlest. I love snuggling and watching The Office with my foster family - my favorite character is Andy Bernard because he's a lot like me: a little goofy, totally loyal, always down to party, but happy to chill. In my foster home there are four senior pups: three Jack Russells and one black lab/Blue heeler mix - I was really excited to meet them! Foster mom said that when she first introduced me to the Jack Russells it reminded her of when Gulliver from Gulliver's Travels met the Lilliputians - hence, the name Gulliver. I let them sniff me and when I offered to play with them, they obliged - I was SO happy! I am very gentle with them (don't forget I'm about 10x their size!) and when they get too tired and want to stop, I am happy to snuggle up by the Christmas tree. I like treats and toys, but my most favorite thing in the world is being with my pack - both furry and human. When Santa asked me what I wanted this Christmas, all I could think of was what I want most in this whole world - a furever family! I would do great in any home except perhaps one with smaller children as I am not fully aware of how big I am and I do love to give gentle hugs, which might be a bit too much for the smaller kiddos. Thumper was picked up as single mother and her tiny baby at Dallas Animal Services. Thumper is reserved and clearly was not handled with love previously. She has come around in her foster home and is warming up more and more to her foster mom and 4 year old. She was also underweight before and much prefers her new life of fresh vegetables, fruits, timothy hay, and rabbit food on a daily basis. She has stopped nipping her foster mom and even learned to permit some snuggles and kisses! She is a beautiful girl who took great care of her baby and deserves to live out her life loved and unafraid. Although she is older and bit more mature, like all bunnies, Thumper cannot be left to roam unattended as she enjoys chewing leather, woodwork, plastic, and electrical cords. Thumper currently reside with two small dogs (18 lbs each) and a three-legged cat. Occasionally they go out in soft grass in an x-pen. show less

Say "Hi" to Twinkie! Just like one of your favourite all time desserts, Twinkie is deliciously wonderful, in a lot of ways! She is a small 12 lb blonde chihuahua, (of COURSE similar to creamy filling of a Twinkie!) with the added cuteness of one floppy ear, and one up right ear! Twinkie has been an excellent foster, she is the consistent calm in a house with toddlers and other dogs. She is full of energy, in spurts, is learning to walk on her leash like a pro, and gets along great with the other dogs in foster household. She has done very well with all children she's encountered, ranging in ages 1-5 yrs. old, Twinkie mostly loves to be close to her humans, snuggling, touching and cuddling any part of body she can touch! She listens when her name is called, enjoys chew toys, and can hold her own when it comes to rough house-playing with bigger dogs. Twinkie could best be described as a true companion dog, and will do best in a household with a family who is home more frequently, or has other dogs to keep her active and content. This little girl can be a little tart Twinkie at times too! A fenced yard must be checked, because she likes to try to chase any animal around perimeter, be it cat, or squirrel, and even tries to escape to chase! She can bark when meeting a new face, coming into "her home", but makes friends after 5 minutes. Twinkie is crate trained, but usually sleeps in an open crate in the laundry room, snuggling with the other dogs. This sweet girl is ready to meet everyone and find herself her "furever home", whether it's in a house with secure yard, or an apartment with owner who has time to dedicate to Twinkie, as much as she is ready to dedicate to them! show less

Meet the affectionate Yu Darvish! He is a very cuddly cat with a sweet disposition. He is in a loving foster home waiting for the right family to come along! Yu is an active cat who loves treats and the occasional spoonful of wet food. He also loves little toys that look like mice. He comes right to you for cuddling and lots of pets. Loves to play on the cat tower and with various toys in his space. Pretty active, but would benefit from some more dedicated playtime. Very sweet, but timid until he's ready to get to know you. He gets along great with other dogs and cats and currently lives in a foster home with cats. Yu likes to cuddle up with his humans and sleep with them in the bed. He can be shy at first, but warms up quickly! An ideal home for Yu would be one with other animals to keep him company and with people who like affectionate kitties!
