 You will never feel lonely with Amelia in your home! She is looking for someone to follow around for the rest of her years. Amelia is an easy addition to most any home; she is happy to just BE. She is happy to be with YOU, she is happy to be around other pets, and she is perfectly happy napping the day away in solitude. As a small yet older lady, she holds her own. At the dog park, she silently demands respect from even the biggest dogs. She enjoys making the rounds and greeting all humans and canines alike. She kept up with her 2-year-old foster sister on her daily walks and occasionally even nudged her along to keep moving and stop sniffing so much! She has no trouble finding her way upstairs but does need some help getting back down them. Amelia is housebroken now that she's on a basic bathroom schedule. She may need a refresher once in a new home but she catches on quick! She evens knows to whine a bit when she's gotta go to let you know.  Amelia doesn’t do much jumping anymore, so she spends most of her time low to the ground in any available dog bed. She'd be happy to be your lap buddy on the couch or bed but will need a lift. She hops willingly into your arms, ready to go wherever you are going. She loves soft foods and treats that she can munch on her with her limited teeth. She doesn’t know any fancy tricks, but a yummy treat can motivate her to learn.  Babadook is a goofy boy who came to PAWS after wandering around on the streets. He loves to run and play with other cats and even dogs! He's an easygoing guy who won't ask for tons of your attention, but does love getting cheek and chin scratches, is always there for you if you need a cuddle buddy, and is never opposed to being picked up and carried around.  Babadook does have a history of seizures which means he needs to take a pill twice a day, but his foster says he's truly the easiest cat ever to medicate—he puts up no fuss whatsoever! Other than that, all he needs is bloodwork once or twice a year to make sure that he's healthy. As much as his foster parents adore him, Babadook would love to find his own forever home, preferably with other cats for him to run around and wrestle with! While some people might not think this is very classy, it's part of my charm and you'll soon grow to adore my cute habits. -Being alone is one of my least favorite things. Have I mentioned I'm needy?  -The cone of shame was my life for weeks and I hated it. It made it difficult for humans to pet my magnificent cheeks. This amazing cat has tested positive for FELV, or feline leukemia, and is looking for a special home.  Bev, also known as Big Mama, is equal parts sassy and sweet! This petite lady has beautiful, big, green eyes, curly whiskers and the softest fur for miles, which will come as no surprise since she’s a perfectionist when it comes to bath time! After a life on the streets, she is ready for a home that can give her all the unconditional love she deserves. Bev will do best with an adopter who has had experience with cats, and as an only pet so that she can embrace being queen of your castle. In foster care, Bev is proving to be quite the chatty Cathy—she lets out the cutest little chirps when you talk to her and when you pet her. Bev lets you know where she likes pets, and where she doesn’t; go with gentle pets on top of the head, cheeks, neck, behind the ears and beneath the chin, minding her mouth as it might be sore! When she’s looking for some company, she will hop up next to you on the couch or bed for a nap, but she will quietly retreat when she’d prefer some time to herself. Bev has stomatitis, a condition that causes sores and inflammation inside the mouth. To help manage her symptoms, she has had most of her teeth extracted (all but her canines) and is currently on a wet food only diet, which she isn't complaining about! (Her foster moms think she could be the next face for Friskies—come on, just look at that gummy smile!) Bev is also FIV positive, a virus that weakens the immune system (Note: FIV-positive cats can live normal lives, both in quality and duration. They just need to be monitored for infections. Recovering from some eye surgery, he may look at you kinda funny at first (his foster likes to call him Little Squints) but that won't stop him from running right up to greet you, looking to be pet. Boris loves to find the softest materials in the house and will curl up for day-long naps (his personal favorite is a fuzzy blanket on his foster parent's couch, which he frequently steals off the pile to spread out on).  Candy is a sweet treat! She is 6 pounds of love that has come a long way from the underweight and scared chichi brought into the shelter. Today she gets super excited for her next tasty meal. In between meals she likes to go for a nice jaunt outside, (if the weather is right) or stay swaddled in her blankets next to the space heater, show off how high she can actually jump during her occasional zoomies or might even do her "Candy Dance" for you. Inside, she likes to perch for comfort- on the top of the couch, a throw pillow, any pile that keeps her higher up and sometimes curls up into a ball on your lap.    Candy should live somewhere quiet and comfortable, where she can be around people and have her own space. She doesn't mind her cat friends in the house and vise versa.  Meet the Colonel! He's most famously known as a super sweet cuddle buddy that just wants to put his head on your lap. He’s great on walks and loves saying hi to everyone he meets on them. The Colonel is also a very smart boy who likes to figure out the secrets of the universe and conquer every puzzle feeder known to mankind.  Despite being so young, Colonel's a fairly low-key guy - a couple good long walks a day and some toys at home to keep his brain busy work just fine for him. Once he's had his fill of activities for the day, the Colonel likes to fall asleep for a nap by using his favorite humans as pillows. The Colonel has a significant heart murmur and an accompanying heart condition that he takes an easy daily medication to manage. He definitely does not let his condition get him down, though! He's as happy and cuddly as any young dog, and brings smiles wherever he goes. Colonel can join a home with kids as young as 14 who understand he has some limitations in how active he should be (although he'll make friends with kids of any age)! He's curious about other dogs and fairly respectful around them, and could live with a calm canine companion.  Hi, I’m Columbus but my foster moms call me Pluis! Pluis is Dutch for “fluff” and I am indeed a gorgeous 15 pound ball of fluff! I love spending time with my 4 foster mommies, but I am currently looking for my forever home. I am a super cuddler and will always accompany you on the couch or closest fuzzy blanket. While a couch potato at times, I also enjoy playing with my fabric ribbon. Sometimes I can be a little too playful and give you a little scratch or bite—but I promise it’s all in good fun.  Crabby Snax is a very affectionate adult cat who would love to spend the winter asleep on your chest! This smaller-framed guy was abandoned by a previous guardian in not-so-great shape. He is very grateful to be inside, well-fed and loved, and he lets you know it by running to the door to greet you and snuggling into your arms.   In his foster home, he has been content to sleep and cuddle, and hasn’t been a big player, though that might change when he gets into a home of his own!  He is great on car trips to the vet, and hasn’t shown any signs of aggression toward his foster mom’s resident cats and could live in a household with multiple cats or be purrfectly find taking up all of your attention! He’s a pretty quiet guy, though he does make little chirps when you bring him his dinner.  Dolly is a laid back girl who enjoys people and other polite dogs. She's an outdoorsy gal who enjoys long walks on a leash, and doesn't mind if you dress her up for the chilly weather! She likes to take a nice slow pace and enjoy just taking extra time to check out the world around her. She is house trained, but also has no issue using puppy pads as a back up, and if you've been gone for a while she always welcomes you back home!   Emily is the sweetest! This wonderful lady loves to be petted and purrs like a freight train. One of her cutest habits is rolling around on her back to show you her bunny feet and belly. She is fine with being picked up, but prefers to sit next to you as opposed to on your lap. Emily prefers relaxing to playing and likes to gaze out the window, or snuggle up with you while you enjoy a cup of tea and a good book. She will greet your every morning with and adorable little trill and chirp!   In her foster home, she has been friendly to everybody she meets. It is a relatively calm and quiet environment, though we have no indication that she wouldn't do equally well in a home with more noise or children. She has not met her foster mom's resident cats ("because they are ill-behaved monsters"), but she would likely be fine with another cat with a proper introduction! Emily is considered a hospice case since our vets suspect she may have cancer, so PAWS is focusing on palliative care (providing relief from the symptoms, pain, physical stress, and mental stress at any stage of illness) for Emily to keep her comfortable. This special girl has so much love and joy to give!  Are you looking for a super sweet cat who is also low maintenance? Enchilada is your guy! Check out his video to see just how loving and cute he is!  Enchilada is a loving guy all rolled up in a wrap of affection, and covered with a sauce of shyness! He takes a few minutes to warm up, but once he does, he just loves a serving of cheek rubs with a side of shoulder scratches. All cheesiness aside, he is SO cute when he's asking for pets, and does somersaults while you're petting him from excitement for more! He even hops up to rub on your hand if he hasn't seen you in a while.  He likes other cats, but would also be happy as the only cat. He's getting the hang of kitty communication with the other cats in his foster home. He is very playful and enjoys chasing them in games of tag. His other favorite toys are little mice and fuzzy things he can play with on his own. She was diagnosed by our vets as having Cushings disease (develops when their body overproduces the steroid hormone, cortisol), but she doesn't let it slow her down at all. She takes pills every day to keep her stable, and is looking for an adopter who can keep up with her medication and continue to help her on her weight loss journey. Because Gordita is choosy about her animal friends, she'll do best in an adult household as the only animal. In exchange she'll repay you in hilarious antics, tons of personality, and adorable pig-like snorts every time she sniffs things!  Hi! I am Phoebe, a former singer-songwriter and author of the smashing hit “Smelly Cat.” You might have heard it on that friendly human's show. I’ve decided to retire from the music industry and am now looking for a loving home where I can pursue my new passion: yoga! To be honest, I still sing a few notes every now and then, but my hit song reminds  me too much of my days at the shelter, so please don’t ask me to sing it – I am onto better things now.  Prepare to meet the sweetest duo you'll ever see, Pumpkin and Figaro! These bonded brothers are learning what the good life is like in a warm house with snuggly blankets and snuggly humans. Fig is a large tuxedo gentleman who wishes playtime would never end. Toys are definitely the way to this goofy kitten's heart (he also says a few chin scratches wouldn't be the worst). Fig is a class clown who will make you laugh until you cry with his bumbly antics. He's not the most graceful kitten but he makes up for it with true heart. Little Pumpkin is a petite orange boy who purrs like a machine and wants to be loved so badly, but still sometimes gets nervous. He'll come to you for pets then suddenly become scared and skitter away- but he can't help himself and always comes back for more! Pumpkin will streeeeetch right next to you to give you tummy access because (don't tell any of his friends) he secretly loves belly rubs. This tough guy is all marshmallow fluff on the inside. These two would do best in a calm household with an owner who will be patient and give them the reassurance they need to come out of their shells. They've been much politer to the resident cat than he deserves and should do fine with other friendly cats with a proper introduction. Pumpkin and Fig have already blossomed so much in foster care and have made their foster mom so proud. They will make the sweetest, funniest and most loving companions you could imagine.  Meet Shaquille, a talented man who was found in the parking lot of PAWS' Grays Ferry clinic. Just like his namesake, he demonstrated impressive running and dodging skills, before going straight into the net. Nowadays, he's more of a retired athlete who spends his days lying in the windowsill of his foster home, though he still enjoys the occasional workout with his toys and scratching post.  Shaq is a bit of a shy boy who might run away and hide at first, but if you wait for him to come to you (and maybe offer some tuna) he will let you brush him and scratch his head endlessly.  He’s a pretty chill guy who would do best in a calm home with people (and even cats) who will be patient as he adjusts to his new surroundings. Shaquille has kidney disease and is considered a hospice case. We would love to find him a forever home that can provide him with the care and comfort he needs in the time he has left.   Suwa is a sweetheart! He was found as a stray in Philadelphia with a burn on his back—the vets suspect someone may have poured boiling water on this little guy. All that aside, Suwa is healing up very well! He still has a few vet checks ahead of him, but is ready for a family! Suwa loves to cuddle, especially at night. Even when he is playing alone, he loves to be in the same room as his people. Suwa also loves watching cars and birds out the window. Suwa is very vocal boy, with a non-traditional meow. If you love a gravely baritone, he’s the boy for you! He sometimes gives gentle love nips, and would probably be best in a home without young children or with experienced cat owners. This beautiful cat is great at using the litter box, and loves toys that squeak. He has had a hard life, and is looking for a loving home to give him lots of attention. He just wants to nap near you! Rolling over for belly rubs is her signature move—she loves belly rubs so much! She will sleep in bed with you and chit chat with you throughout the day (although a chatterbox here and there, it isn't her intent to wake you up!) She can be shy at first, but once she knows you want to be her friend she will warm up right away.  Meet Tony, formerly known as Piper. Tony is an extremely loving, lively, silly, and easygoing boy. His favorite thing in the world is to cuddle (but he will let you know if he’s not in the mood) and his second favorite is to play! Tony loves all kinds of toys and becomes quite the aerial acrobat with wand toys. He has the warmest snuggles and the loudest purrs. Tony isn't picky about his environment, is curious, confident, and loves to explore. He especially enjoys a window with a view. Not only is he a clean and well-mannered roommate, but he also wants to be your BFF! You will never feel lonely with Tony. The best things about him are how much love he has to give and how easily he takes everything in stride. He is not easily phased by changes in the environment and loves meeting new people. Tony is FIV+. FIV stands for feline immunodeficiency virus, but all that means is his immune system doesn’t work as well as it should. He is in great health and his condition doesn’t slow him down at all or prohibit him from living with other cats. FIV+ cats can live just as long and healthy a life as a non-infected cat as long as their owners keep on top of their health (and teeth!) – which ANY good pet parent should be doing regardless. Uncle Horace was surrendered because his aging owners could no longer physically care for him, and he came in overweight and with irritated skin. He's presently on the mend, and would love a new forever home in which to live out his golden years with people who have lots of time for him! Horace doesn't mind most same-sized, polite pups, although he'd prefer a home with older, gentle kids. He is presently being treated for Cushing's (occurs due to abnormally high levels of the hormone, cortisol) at our clinic, and is kept stable with regular bloodwork and easy-to-give daily pills.  Yin & Yang are a curious pair of sweet long-haired black 6-month-old kittens. Easygoing and cuddly, when together they love to play and cause some mischief. Big brother Yin is about 6.6 lbs and little sister Yang is just over 4 lbs.  They are Leos to the core — warm-hearted, independent and brave, always embracing others with kindness, rarely making a peep and never raising a claw. They will thrive in a home that is calm and allows them to set the rules. These guys are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. The inseparable pair were found in Blackwood, NJ and transferred to PAWS in mid-January. They are currently in the care of a foster family — with kitty brother Kovu and pup brother Bean — learning to coexist with other animals.  Meet Zapp Brannigan, a handsome little orange guy who likes lap time almost as much as he likes nap time. He likes other cats that can match his energy, and loves any and all toys—especially wand ones and laser pointers that can get him jumping and running! Zapp was found as a stray this past Spring and was sick for quite a while, until PAWS vets determined that allergies were prompting his perpetual illness. Zapp is much more stable now on a hypoallergenic diet, and his adopters will need to keep him on that strict diet to avoid relapse into illness again. Zapp's hobbies include doing pigeon impressions, soliciting head pats, and playing tag with the other resident and foster kitties in the home. He's very food motivated (so guard your human snacks!), and toy motivated, so if you need him to do something for you just butter him up with those sweet, sweet bribes.    Zuma can’t wait to find her forever human to give her attention to. She love snuggling and getting scratches, playing with strings, and being all around adorable.  Zuma (female) is the most adorable black kitten her foster mom has ever seen. When she's not playing tag with her brother chasing each other around a basket, she’s eager to explore to find the best new place to nap.  She loves to chomp on strings and chase mouse toys around.  She is used to hearing a dog bark but haven’t had much interaction with other animals yet, she is not chatty and her foster mom thinks they could get used to other pets.   She will require 2 more rounds of shots the weekend of 3/1 and 3/23 (paperwork and details will be provided to adopters, and there is no charge for taking the kittens in for these final visits).
