Allie is a happy, friendly, playful and lovable girl. She is great with other dogs and with everyone she meets! She's a companion who can snuggle with you to watch tv or go for a jog. She's perfect for any home! I am a female black lab mix, and I am a little over a year old. Here's a few things about me: -I am fully housebroken. -I come inside when called from outside. -I prefer to be indoors with people. -I am spayed. -I am crate trained, but does fine not in one. -I know my name and respond to it. -I know a couple of tricks like "sit and I am working on "leave it -I love car rides. -I am not afraid of storms. -I tolerate baths very well. -I am dog-friendly, but seem like I would also do fine as an only dog (more pets and snacks for me!) -I don't seem to have a lot of interest in chewing things I shouldn't, but I do like my dog toys. -My foster family thinks I must be part cat, because I love to rub along people when walking past them like a cat. I am currently located in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. Anastasia is about 3 years old and weighs 60 lbs. She's a gentle & loving sweetheart. She enjoys being close to you for pets and cuddles. This love bug deserves a place to call home. Can you make her your forever snuggle buddy? My Name is Anastasia and my foster mom says I am a pretty awesome dog. I am a mama and had a litter of puppies not too long ago, so I am very very patient ( human mamas can relate :) ). I am a pretty laid back dog, my foster mom is impressed how calm I am around other dogs and cats. I pretty much do not care about cats so I don't chase them at all. I am housebroken so I know how to take my business outside the house :) I love long walks - since I was in a kennel for a while I get a little excited on the leash and pull slightly but my foster mom said I already got better at that. I am a little scared of cars so I might stop for a second when a car passes by. I LOVE PETS AND CUDDLES :) So I might ask for them on a regular basis :) I cant wait to meet you !! Com'on, I know you can resists my eyes :) I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Watch my Video!!!! https://youtu.be/-_nigAl6jf4 Bree is a female, 3-year old American Staffordshire Terrier weighing about 50 lbs. She is a very pretty girl and very lovable! From one of Bree's staycation foster moms: "Bree is the sweetest dog you'll ever meet! Everyone that meets her falls in love with her instantly. She's a muscular girl, but don't let that fool you! One woman who met Bree during a walk said, "you're just a marshmallow, aren't you?!". And that she is. She's going to be the type of companion that gives more than she receives. She definitely wants a human to take care of. Bree is very intelligent and tries her best to communicate with you. She may have had some trauma in her past and gets startled easily. Being in the kennels stresses her out and she barks at other dogs as they go by. However, once she is outside of the kennels, she has no problems walking past other dogs. Bree walks great on a leash and sits quietly in the backseat during car rides. She enjoys hiking in nature where she likes to sniff at everything! She also enjoys lounging on the couch and cuddling in bed. But beware! Her cuddles are very intense and she'll lay right on top of you! She also is very content laying on a blanket and enjoying a bone. Bree will not be a "pet". She will be your companion and friend. Will you be the one who brings her into your family?" show less

Charlie Brown came to me when he was about 9 months old and it became clear very quickly that he had been badly mistreated by someone already in his young life. He was extremely skittish and untrusting and I worked very hard with him to bring him along to where he is now. It makes me so happy to see how far he has come along. He has blossomed from a scared, sad, little dog into a happy, trusting, and extremely affectionate companion. He is still wary of new people (especially men), but quickly warms up and wants to be petted by everyone. He thinks he is a lap dog, and if you will let him he will get up on the bed or couch with you and snuggle for hours! He also loves other dogs. Playing and running in the yard with his buddies brings out the puppy in him! He deserves a home with someone who has the time to give him all the love that he craves and I know that he will be an amazing friend. I am currently located at San Antonio Pets Alive!, and I am in a foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of the additional dog who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. My shelter name was Coho, but because of my amazing blue eyes, my foster family is calling me Sinatra. I'm 3 months old and full of energy. I'm still learning the do's and don'ts of living in a home. I'm really snuggly and I like to chew on toys and stuffed animals. I'm working on crate training and I don't like that.. I talk loudly if I think I'm being left in there. My food and water are in my crate and I'm okay with that as long as my door is open. My foster family is trying to convince me that the crate is my friend. I sleep soundly in my bed when its on the floor and I know my foster family is near. I don't really think I'm going to be a big guy. Currently, I'm a little guy at 8 pounds. If you would like to know more about me, please let my friends at San Antonio Pets Alive know by clicking the dog adoption questionairre button. If you would like to apply for adoption, you can click on the apply for adoption button. Neither one of these options commit you to anything. Hi, my name is Helix. I was raised as a single kitty, and while I love playing with my fellow foster kittens, I really love getting attention from my humans. I bond to them very strongly and ask for attention constantly. Don't worry, I keep my fur very soft so they enjoy petting me and I will always run after a toy when they want to play. I know how to make sad eyes and ask before jumping on a lap and I just learned about napping in fresh laundry. I am good at the vet as long as I'm getting the attention I deserve. I take a little bit of time to get used to people I don't know, but I love my foster family very much and can't wait to get to know my new family and home. Good with cats: Yes, very polite Good with kids: older kids Good with dogs: will hiss, but he is young and will likely adapt needs lots of companionship I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Hope is a female, 2-year old Labrador Retriever blend. She is a complete sweetheart! She is great with other dogs and loves to play with them and loves her toys too. Hope was saved from euthanasia at the city shelter by San Antonio Pets Alive. Hope had been shot and had a severely injured hip. She was also malnourished. She went to a San Antonio Pets Alive foster home to gain needed weight. Once her bloodwork improved, along with gaining 15 lbs and energy, the veterinarian cleared Hope for surgery. She underwent a Femoral Head Ostectomy (FHO) - an orthopedic surgical procedure that helps restore pain-free mobility to her damaged hip due to the bullet that was found. She is recovering wonderfully and now looking for her forever home! Updates from her foster home: - She is a great eater and doesn't bark- she's a quiet one :) - She has learned to walk on a lead well, and she loves sleeping on her bed or in the sunshine - Her sight is not restored, but she does follow hand claps and comes when her name is called- very well! - She is housebroken and enjoys relaxing in her kennel. - She gets along great with the dogs in her foster home and would do wonderful with a "guide" dog friend of her own! I am currently located in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. Jill is a super sweet girl with loads of energy. She is a typical playful puppy. Eat , sleep play, repeat. Jill was one of three siblings I fostered together. She loved to play with her brothers and run around exploring the house. Since Jill's brothers were adopted she has really blossomed and developed her own personality. She still sleeps through the night and takes multiple naps during the day after playing hard. Jill is current on her vaccinations, and since she's had her third vaccination we have been working on outside potty training. She is doing very well. With each passing day she is getting better. Jill is going to be an amazing companion for some lucky family. She loves to be where we are and will follow us around with one of her stuffed toys. She plays and runs with my dogs. And has become friends with our small dog, Jill will carry her toys upstairs and they are often found just hanging out. We have discovered she loves water, and had her first interaction with a hose. She was so funny to watch. We have started leash work too, she's not too fond of a collar Jill is much better on a harness. It will just take time and practice and patience. Jill is really an amazing pup, she is sweet and smart and lots of fun. Jill is looking for a family to call her own... is that you? I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Jackie has been an amazing foster dog. She's very social, does great with kids, adults, and other dogs. Jackie does like to rough play and can sometimes be a little too rough but listens well when is told to be gentle. She vibes well with her human. She does jump a little but she it very tender when she does. Small dogs tend to be a little scared of how forward she is but once she understands not to play rough with one she won't both doing it again. I've taken here on hikes, runs and dog parks are her favorite. She loves meeting new dogs and gets a little anxious when she doesn't get to greet them. So far I haven't had a chance to socialize her with house cats but she does bark and chase neighborhood cats if they come in to our yard. Jackie definitely loves the outdoors and being out of the house and enjoying nature is her calling. I am currently located in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. Leroy is a 3-year old Chihuahua/Dachshund blend. He recently went on a Stay-cation - to learn more about Stay Cations, please visit https://www.sanantoniopetsalive.org/stay-cation/ The following is what Leroy's Stay-Cation foster parent has to say about him ... "Leroy is a little sweetheart in a cute, compact package! He's a scruffy, long, low-rider who probably has some dachshund DNA. He comes off as a bit shy at first, but trusts very quickly and opens up with a smile within minutes of meeting you. When you give him belly rubs and scratches, he instantly melts! He did excellent with dogs and humans, both big and small, on his foster staycation. He is a dream on a leash, no pulling whatsoever. Leroy joined his temporary foster mom on a long hike-and he was a great sport about it-but he seems like he would much rather be rocking the lazy, Netflix/nap life. He will be a great cuddle buddy!" Watch my Video! https://youtu.be/so3oJGrXCt8 Sekhmet is the name of an Egyptian warrior goddess, and this fella certainly lives up to it! Originally thought to be female (hence the feminine name given) I'm a feisty, yet handsome boy looking for a human friend who can handle my attitude! I was rescued with no mama and no siblings. I grew up spoiled and would prefer an adult home by myself. My human friends say that I have "single kitten syndrome. Don't know what it is? Google it! I'm a super cuddly boy with my adult foster human but may nip a little. I do well with other cats, and dogs, but they need to be able to handle me. Please don't put me in a home with young cats, small cats or elderly cats. My friends of choice need to be able to handle me and accept my rough-housing as a token of my friendship. I'm not quite sure that I would do well in a home with young kids. I need to go to an indoor home only. Oh yeah...and I love to talk. In my pictures, I'm saying "good morning to foster mama! Mark has received one set of vaccinations and is set to be neutered and microchipped before this ad hits the website! Once he is neutered, Mark will be ready to go home to his fur-ever family. Will that be you? Mark would need two more rounds of vaccines to be able to put his precious "paws on the ground", so for now, he and his siblings use potty paper and use it pretty well. Want a best friend who will love and cherish you regardless? Look no further, you will be instantly hooked by Mercy's sweet expression and demeanor. She has so much love, affection, and companionship to give to that someone special. Despite human neglect, she has shown nothing but mercy and love towards every person she's met. Her name fits her perfectly, she truly is the sweetest, most loving dog. I promise you will be her everything. She is happiest when sitting with you and cuddling. Don't let her current looks fool you, Mercy loves every person and kid she meets. You should see her face and excitement when you come into a room! The way she wags her whole body and prances to greet you. She just wants to spend quality time with you, whether it's sitting with you, next to you, or walking beside you. She's a perfect combination of a couch potato and active. She loves to run and play in the backyard and just as happy to be in your lap. She also likes to play fetch, go on walks, play with toys, and sunbathe. Mercy is well-mannered and well-behaved. She is great on the leash, knows basic commands such as sit, no, down, come, shake/paw, and is kennel trained. She's a people pleaser which makes training and corrections a breeze. She is very in-tune to what you are asking of her. She is one bright lady! With treats Mercy is eager to learn, so we are currently working on wait, lay, and potty training. She's one quick learner! With consistent trips outside her accidents are nonexistent. She is being trained to ring a bell when she needs to go outside. This dog loves absolutely everyone, well except for some dogs. A meet and greet would be best if you plan to add her to a home with an existing dog. She's a mix of working breeds and therefore would prefer to chase cats vs. be friends. But other than that, she loves everyone. Mercy is up-to-date with her shots, preventatives, dewormed, and is spayed. She is roughly 40 pounds (should be closer to 45 - 50lbs). This sweet lady needs a little extra TLC. She was found malnourished and is currently being treated for mange; nothing a little medicine and TLC won't fix! Mercy deserves far more than what life has given her. She is longing to make that special person the center of her world. If you can give her a furrever home, then you can give her a miracle. Are you that special, furrever person? I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home. By adopting me, you not only give me a new leash on life; you also save the life of an additional pet who can be rescued from euthanasia and placed in foster care. Oakley is friendly & lovable dog that loves to run, chew on his large toys, & play tug-of-war with any dog that will do so. He loves on any sofa, love-seat, or bed. When he meets new people, he will get excited, bark for a minute, but then try to jump up & lick their face. Walks, jogs, & exploring are his favorite activities. When he sees the leash, he will start to whine & wag his tail as he heads for the door. Oakley is crate trained & housebroken. He loves to chew apart stuffed toys, but he also thinks cats & kittens are stuffed toys, so I do not recommend that he be around them. He is large & medium dog friendly (not sure about miniatures), but needs time to warm up. Oakley will eat any dog treat you toss in the air & that he can catch in his mouth. Oakley is the perfect companion for a person that has an active lifestyle. I am currently located at San Antonio Pets Alive!, and I am in a foster home. Reiny-Reina, (R16 Reese SAPA-A-44374) Hey guys! You found me: I am here!!! I am Reiny, the missing piece of the puzzle that will make your family complete! I will amaze you and at the same time melt your heart. Unfortunately I was stepped on as a baby, but please don't let my missing eye fool you: I am one tough little girl who likes to play and eat with my foster-family cats! I am very good at using the litter box and have not had an accident since I was a few weeks old. I am read to meet you to see if you will be my new family! My ideal family will always have people around: I am very needy and if I don't see someone, I cry until they come and get me. Because I require lots of attention, I need a furry friend (I would prefer no dogs). I am fearless and have a lot of energy, but also need daily cuddles! My foster's goal for 2019 is to make sure I am in the best home!!! Thank you for taking the time to consider making me part of your family. Bottle-baby kittens make the best cats! Hello...my name is Sadie. I was living on the streets of San Antonio. It was hard living out there trying to raise my puppies on my own. I was really scared but I was finally caught with my pups and we ended up in the city shelter. My pups have all found homes except for me. I'm scared and luckily found a foster family to help me relax, enjoy the good life and is patient with me. I'm starting to come around. I got on the sofa and sat with my foster family on the other side. I love to be petted but just unsure of everything, still. My foster mom tells me I'm beautiful everyday and how special I am. Hoping to maybe find my forever home and can bond with them too. I'm going to be a loyal/loving girl, I just need a little time. It still amazes me watching the other dogs interact with my human foster mom....not something I have ever seen. I'm not too big at 40 lbs. I'm all legs really. Hoping there's someone out there who will fall in love with my sweet face and give me a chance. I am living in a San Antonio Pets Alive! foster home.
