About Champ

Meet the new champion of your heart, Champ! This handsome boy came to us when his previous owner could no longer afford to care for his daily needs. He had a rough start at the shelter, he was very nervous and took awhile to adjust. But, now that he is a little more comfortable here, his amazing personality is starting to show. However, Champ will do best in a quiet home and needs to be given lots of time to adjust. He also needs to be the only pet in the household, as he isn't the well socialized with other animals. Champ is a complete family dog. He has a good history with children and would love to be a part of your life. So, if you're looking for a sweet boy to complete your family, then look no further, as Champ is sure to be your boy. Advanced due to need of patient and gentle guardian who will give him time to adjust to new home; recommended household without other animals; scared of thunderstorms and fireworks; due to possible dog reactivity, quiet area recommended, ideally with back yard. Potty trained; good history with children.

Pay the Piper, and call the tune, for this little miss is waiting for you! Say hello to pretty Piper! Piper came to us as a very pregnant mother all the way from Alabama. Piper raised 8 beautiful puppies, who have all found terrific homes. Now, Piper is ready to find her home as well. Piper is a VERY affectionate girl who is quick to bond with most people. She loves cuddles, and wants to be a lap dog, despite her size. She greets us every morning, with a wiggly run to the door, and some play bows. She has become very comfortable in her temporary home, so she will bark when new people enter the room. We are hoping that this is just a shelter behavior, but if not, she is easily won over with treats. Piper seems to do very well with other animals. She has had lots of playtime with various puppies, adult dogs, even some cats during her stay with us. Piper is housetrained, and likes going outside for walks. She does easily get spooked, so a quiet neighborhood would be best. She likes chewing on Nylabones, and will occasionally play with toys. She is a "stuffie" shredder, so squeakers beware.Piper does have some allergies, that cause her to be pretty itchy. We have had luck with grain-free lamb, and the medication Apoquel (about $75 a month). Her new owners will need to monitor her diet, as she loves food, and will help herself to any food she can find (as her cute curvy waistline proves). She will require regular veterinary care to manage her allergies; this could be expensive. Piper lives in the manager's office, where all her office mates adore her. We think she will fit into a variety of homes. So if you think Piper is as awesome as we do-please ask the front desk to meet her. Special Medical. show less
