Name: Bruce Banner (an Avengers reference for those of you not in the loop on Marvel) Suspected Breed(s): DSH/Tabby Gender: Male Age: 5 years Weight: 15 lbs Personality: Sweet, friendly Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Good with cats Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foster home Rescued From: Bladen County, NC Additional Information: Bruce Banner aka The Incredible Hulk, the big Green Avenger! This Bruce Banner is more like his human namesake than their alter ego. He is a big cat but worry not, he won’t turn into a big green fighting machine and stays in his sweet, lovable cat form. Bruce is incredibly smart, with multiple PhDs, so you may catch him occasionally conducting an experiment or two to answer his latest query, like how small a shoebox can be and still fit a cat. But aside from that, Bruce is ready for a relaxing life, full of head scratches, cat toys and cuddling. He gets along with others and is currently hanging out with his buddy Steve Rogers aka Captain America! Who’s ready to give Bruce the relaxing life he deserves? He did save the world a couple of times, right?! Bruce is an absolute sweetheart (and a big doof) and is guaranteed win over the hearts of anyone in the household. He LOVES attention and loves to cuddle so he constantly chases you around for pets and climbs on top of you when you're laying down. He's a great lapcat and would fit into any household without a problem. __________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. He will have your back any time aliens or giant robots attack and he will do his best to destroy Hydra. Steve was surrendered with his fellow Avenger brothers because his owners could no longer afford him and they did not have access to cryo-freezing until better times come their way. Steve is a good guy and he's also quite handsome. His favorite colors are red, white & blue, and he loves big band music. His foster wrote to us: "Steve is a big softie-in body and spirit! He LOVES pets and cuddling and will chase you around with those big green eyes of his and try to get you to pet him. He's a sweetheart and a lap-cat. He can be a bit shy for the first few days, but once he comes around, he will shower you with love." __________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Her owners moved without her, leaving her alone with no food and water in her house. The landlord found her and felt bad, so kept her, until the landlord's death. The landlord's mother then took Butterscotch in, but she recently was moved to assisted living and Butterscotch was brought to the vet's office to be euthanized. The vet asked them to surrender Butterscotch instead of euthanizing her, and the rest is history. Butterscotch is on her way to DC to find her forever forever family. Name: Cole Suspected Breed(s): Siamese Gender: Male Age: 2 years Weight: 10 lbs Personality: Friendly, sweet Observations with Dogs: Fine with dogs Observations with Cats: Good with cats, but plays rough Observations with Kids: No small children House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: DC area foste home Rescued From: Roane County, WV Additional Information: Cole is a beautiful, sweet, talkative kitty patiently waiting for his forever home at City kitties. He is super easy going, adapting to new environments in a breeze. He gets along well with his furry siblings, but likes to let them know who's boss. His dominant personality is part of what makes him great, but he would need proper introduction to other cats (if any), and would be best if he can keep his king status. He is a playful kitty who loves to play. However, he is still learning his strengths, and that his little paws are hiding sharp tools. So we think he would do best in a family without small children, and who can teach him manners with love and patience. __________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Name: Dia Suspected Breed(s): DSH Gender: Female Age: 1 year Weight: 8 lbs Personality: Playful, Curious, Smart, Independent, Easygoing, Friendly, Adventurous, Shy, Affectionate, Energetic, Vocal, Gentle Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Unknown Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: Arrives in DC 12/1 Rescued From: Bladen County, NC Additional Information: Dia is a little midnight beauty whose favorite genre is film noir. Embodying the classic Hollywood glamour, she reenacts her three favorite films daily: The Big Sleep, when she curls up in her favorite spot for an independent hibernation; The Prowler, when she plays her heart out and runs her zoomies; and The Big Heat, when she just wants to snuggle with her humans for some cozy relaxation. Like the little starlet she is, Dia is desperate for her public’s attention, but will pretend she is not, in fact, following you around wherever you go. Quirky and a little rambunctious, Dia takes direction well and all human costars report that she is a pleasure to work with. Her credits include “Chasing Her Own Tail: A Dia Story,” “Enjoying Scritches on My Head,” and, the 2018 hit documentary, “Will Play for Fun, Treats Unnecessary.” Recent paparazzi reviews say, “Dia is hard to photograph but is a 10/10 cutie in person. Anyone would be lucky to have her as a leading lady.” __________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. Name: Dillinger Suspected Breed(s): DSH/Tabby Gender: Male Age: 5 years Weight: 9 lbs Personality: Affectionate, sweet, easygoing, curious Observations with Dogs: Unknown Observations with Cats: Okay with cats after proper introduction Observations with Kids: Unknown House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners Location: Arrives in DC 11/10 Rescued From: Smyth County, VA Additional Information: Dillinger is a special guy who deserves a special family. He is sweet, affectionate, and low-key, but if he could write his life story we’re pretty sure it would be a page-turner. At some time in the past he suffered a spinal injury, but it’s not keeping him down. He climbs stairs and gets up on the bed just fine, but he walks with a wobble and would rather take it easy than get into mischief. Dilly can be a little shy at first and likes to approach you and rub against your legs or climb up for pets and cuddles once you’re sitting down. He has the sweetest small meow; sometimes it is even silent. Quiet and gentle, Dilly will thrive in a home where he can take life at his own pace and be appreciated for his warmth and wiggly charm. __________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application.
