Volunteer Coordinator - Receives new volunteer applications, screens them, makes contact with the new volunteer and provides them with general information on the rescue and passes their information to the appropriate person. Fundraising Coordinator - Seeks out, plans, and executes fundraising events on behalf of Speak. Filters through email invitations from outside sources to put on a fundraiser, or works with the core group of volunteers on putting on our own. Events Coordinator - Manages getting Speak signed up for local events, filling out any forms needed, fees paid, etc. and ensuring that an adequate number of volunteers attend the events. We are considering having both an IL and MO event coordinator. Foster Home Coordinator - The main point of contact for the foster homes for any questions or concerns that they have. This person will field a lot of questions / concerns and will be a “go between” for foster homes and other people. Putting together a foster packet for new homes with contact info, pointers on how to help their fosters get ready for success in their forever homes, how to get good bio pics, how to do introductions with their dogs, etc. and any emotional support needed as fostering ain’t easy! We want both our pups and our fosters to be successful because we can’t do it without our foster homes. Adoption Coordinator - Responsible for getting and editing bios and pics from foster homes and subsequently posting on Petfinder, Adopt A Pet and other locations as needed. Will need to keep apprised of when dogs are no longer available in order to remove adoptables. Assembles package for volunteer finalizing the adoption, including resources for tips and training, adoption agreement, vet records. Grant Writer - Actively seeks out available grants and writes them on behalf of the rescue. Will work with Board to have access to all required documents. Transport Coordinator - Manages all transport volunteers and communicates directly with them. Works with other transport coordinators when applicable and also plans transport routes and manages them when they are running. This can be very exciting and rewarding. Someone will help walk you through your first couple of transports. Local Pup Express Driver - Able to pick up pups for vet visits and get pups to their foster homes or find volunteers able to fill in when needed. Weekday availability needed and close to Collinsville. Intake Coordinator/Records Keeper - Making sure new dogs are entered into the database, along with all required documents (i.e. owner surrenders, health certificates, shelter transfer docs). Responsible for keeping all current adoptable dog records up to date and active. Receiving medical alerts and making sure all the dogs are following our medical protocol. Keeping ‘adopted’ animal files for the current year and then moving them to be stored. Will work closely with Foster Coordinator. Microchip Registrar - Responsible for registering our dogs and transferring chip information when pets are adopted. Application Processing Team Members - Processes applications from start to finish. Check vet references; contacts applicant with questions / concerns and denies them if /when necessary. Conducts background checks; verifies property records; contacts landlord, if applicable; holds initial phone interviews. Contacts foster homes with approved applicant’s information. Person doing phone interviews should also do a follow up phone call to applicant/adopter to assure their experience is a good one and all is going well. Technical Director - works as a liaison with online vendors (petstablished, petfinder), manages online accounts, website updates, emails and newsletter distribution. The director will handle the technical side of social media and will require assistance from the social media activist as well as the Graphic Designer. (Filled) Social Media Activist - Writes posts and generates attention on all social media outlets on behalf of the rescue. Will work with the Technical Director and Graphic Designer, as well as the Newsletter Editor. Graphic Designer - Creative and artistic person able to design flyers/artwork for events, fundraisers and t-shirts. Newsletter Editor - Oversees publication of our quarterly newsletter. Also, writes thank you appreciation notes to donors. Emergency Recovery Lead (Safety Manager) - Hopefully this person is never needed. If a dog becomes lost, you will need to quickly take steps to get the dog’s info and pic on social media and lost and found dogs groups, Craigslist, Lost and Found Dogs website, as well as calling the local animal controls, creating and faxing flyers to shelters and vets; and putting together a search team in the area. You do not have to leave your house, but your role is critical as a home base. Occasionally sharing info about safely transporting dogs, how not to lose your foster dog, dealing with fireworks, etc. Check with foster homes upon intake to be sure each foster dog has a microchip, tag, and martingale collar. Training Support Admin(s) - Person(s) willing to start a FB support group and field questions about training, post videos, tips, etc. for our fosters. Alumni Facebook Group Moderator - Responsible for adding adopters to a Facebook group. You will field questions, enjoy updates, tag Speak members, be able to share on-line resources, etc. Also, monitor posts to keep any advice helpful, drama-free and supportive. Public Awareness Ambassador - Responsible for making certain we are educating the public about double merle awareness. Assembling materials, setting up events with schools, libraries, camps, etc. to introduce our special needs dogs and talk to people/children about them. Benefits Coordinator - Person who seeks out discounts and free items which will benefit our foster homes, pups, marketing and fundraising efforts. Will be responsible for providing any necessary documentation, letters, etc. in getting Speak signed up
