To join our band, the following requirements must be met: 1. Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, and have a valid Massachusetts driver’s license with no moving violations in the last two years. 2. RnR requires a minimum of a three-month commitment, up to eight hours per month. 3. Volunteers must read and comprehend detailed policy and protocol information and remember and follow rescue rules at all times during their assigned shift. 4. Human interaction is a requirement of all volunteer roles. Volunteers must always communicate professionally and respectfully, with understanding that they are representing Rock n Rescue’s mission, goals, and animal welfare ethics. 5. Volunteers must be comfortable around dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments/behaviors. 6. Volunteers must understand and fulfill all responsibilities of their roles independently. 7. Volunteers may choose to serve in an administrative capacity only, in which case driving and physical capability are not required. Volunteers involved in Transport/Rescue, Animal Care/Husbandry, Fostering, Adoption meet and greets, and Training must be physically capable of and willing to drive, stand for several hours, lift dog crates/items up to 50 pounds, and walk/care for dogs of all sizes (unless otherwise arranged with an RnR board member).
