About Roo (Courtesy Post)

Adoption Fee: $30

Roo thinks he is a typical kitten.  He runs, wrestles, and chases toys.  However, his front limbs are deformed.  He thinks he can jump up and down things even though it ismuch harder for him so as a kitten he will have to be watched closely.  Eventually he will learn how to get around the house.  He has always been cared for and very loved, and now he needs a forever home.  He is very loving and gives great hugs.  Roo loves other cats.  A very cat-friendly small dog may be okay, but not one that would get too rough or chase him. He cannot get out of the way quickly and cannot defend himself. And truly he loves to be the center of attention. Roo is afraid of children.

Please Note:  A Courtesy Post designates that Roo is still in the home of its owner and not in a Muddy Paws foster home.  This means that our exposure to the dog is limited since we are only assisting the owner in finding a new home for their pet.  If needed, we will put you in touch with the owner if you have questions.

The suggested adoption donation for Roo is $30, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our animals in rescue.  If you would like to welcome Roo into your home, please begin by submitting the adoption application found on this page.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  If you would like to learn more about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue, or donate to our dogs, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com.  We invite you to visit our Facebook Page, and when you visit, please don't forget to Like our Facebook page so that you won’t miss any information about our dogs and events!

Al, (birthdate approximately 4/01/2017)  is a Shepherd mix looking for a new home. He is pretty nervous and would prefer a home without children under the age of 12. Al would also prefer to be the only dog in his new home, but will absolutely need the proper introduction if you have resident dogs. Al would also enjoy a large fenced in yard and owners who are patient and consistent to help him work on manners and leash skills. If you feel like this sweet boy is speaking to your heart, please fill out an application today! The suggested adoption donation for Al is $350, which is TAX DEDUCTIBLE, and goes toward providing supportive services to animals in the home, as well as the high cost of vetting our dogs in rescue. Anubis is a sweet Chihuahua mix, born May 2019.  She wants to be friends with every human, cat and dog, even if they don't want her in their space.  It is dificult to teach her tricks and comands because she can't calm down enough so she will need a patient owner.  She is leash and potty trained and can get herself up and down from furniture, but has trouble going down stairs.  She has the dangerous habit of chewing plastic so she needs to be closely supervised.  She has had one litter of puppies, but will be altered prior to adoption. The suggested adoption donation for Anubis is $450.  We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE.  Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes. Information about the adoption process:  All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION.  Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the dog’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match.  If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the pet.  The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver. Please Note:  We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter.  We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each dog, based on the dog’s needs.  If you and the dog are not a good match, we will help you select another dog, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months. Astrid, a 1-year-old cat, had kittens, born 4/8/2020.   Astrid, the mama cat, is a small little mama. She takes a while to warm up to new people and spaces, but she is very cuddly when she wants to be. She is a little skittish around loud people and noises, and she does not seem to enjoy dogs, but she has only heard one from the other side of the door (and hissed). She is very vocal about wanting attention. She has never bitten or hurt anyone.
