About Gem

Adoption Fee: $175 for Cats and Kittens

Name: Gem
Suspected Breed(s): DSH/Tuxedo
Gender: Female
Age: 2 years
Weight: 8 lbs
Personality: Sweet, friendly, playful, loving, independent, easygoing, patient
Observations with Dogs: Unknown
Observations with Cats: Good with cats
Observations with Kids: Untested, patient demeanor
House Training Progress: Good litterbox manners
Location: DC area foster
Rescued From: Roane County, WV
Additional Information:

Gem is a very sociable, easygoing, and intuitive cat. She does very well with people and other kitties. She has not yet been observed with children, but based on her friendly demeanor, it is presumed she’ll be just as good with kids as she is with adults.

Sometimes Gem will follow you everywhere, and sometimes she’ll go away on her own for a while, only to be all the more affectionate the next time she sees you. Gem enjoys watching birds, and she’ll let you know if anything interesting happens by meowing and making cute little chirping sounds!

She is a beautiful black and white cat with an almost perfectly symmetrical tuxedo coating. Don’t miss your chance to adopt this kitty cat, she’s a real gem!

City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first served model).

Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Cat specific: Rabies, FVRCP, Feline Leukemia vaccines. They are tested for FIV and FeLV.

Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

We also update our Facebook page daily with new cats and dogs.
