About Jackie (Has Application)

Adoption Fee: $395 for Adult Dogs and Puppies

Name: Jackie
Suspected Breed(s): Bully mix
Gender: Female
Age: 6 months old
Weight: 30 lbs
Personality: Gentle, playful, friendly, adventurous, goofy, smart, affectionate, trainable, a snuggler, funny, shy, energetic, and protective.
Observations with Dogs: Jackie loves to play with the resident dogs in her foster home and is learning to greet dogs while out on walks.
Observations with Cats: Might try to play, but given her young age, a savvy cat should be able to train her.
Observations with Kids: Untested
House Training Progress: Occasional accidents if she isn’t let outside frequently.
Crate Training Progress: She sleeps in the crate overnight and occasionally during the day and does well.
Location: DC area foster
Rescued From: Bladen County, NC
Additional Information: Meet Jackie, an adorable pooch who lives for belly rubs, giving kisses and playtime. She would be a wonderful, spunky addition to the right fur-ever home! Jackie LOVES playing with her canine foster siblings and can also entertain herself - zooming around the house (accidentally flinging toys around), chasing her tail, or by settling down with chew toys. Jackie does wonderfully with other playful dogs, but she is a little too lively for senior dogs. After she decides playtime is over, Jackie will often flop down on the ground in an exaggerated fashion and recharge for her next adventure! As a young pup, Jackie needs lots of exercise, and her favorite way to burn off energy is on doggie play dates. An affectionate gal, she cuddles with both her canine foster siblings and human parents when settling down and often uses them as pillows. Jackie is wary of new people entering the home, but she warms up soon enough. Jackie is also very smart and trainable and is on her way to learning basic obedience! Jackie gets startled by loud noises, so she’s working on building her confidence on leash around construction and skateboards. Apply today to get a best friend for life!

City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. We focus on local adoptions in DC and the metro area of Maryland and Virginia. CDR&CK has a thorough adoption process in order to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model).

Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter (unless specified). We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam prior to adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDR&CK. City Dogs Rescue & City Kitties is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us.
Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis.

Most cats and dogs will have a house training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.
