About Moosh

DOB: 7/11/13 I’m Big!  I’m Bad!  I’m Moosh!  Not only am I devilishly handsome, but my personality is a treat that can’t be beat.  I am confident, smart, curious, attentive, and probably just a little dog in a big cat’s clothing.  If this sounds what you’re looking for – read on.   Ambitions?   To be adopted by someone who has an excellent sense of humor and to perhaps, visit Mars.  (I will always keep you laughing.)  Turn-ons?  Laps, boxes, soft toys that I can bat around, kisses from head to toe, and staring lovingly into human eyes.  (I want to be your love muffin.) Turn-offs?  Singing YouTube babies and car-rides.  (‘Nuff said.) Hidden talent?  I can jump 3+ feet into the air to catch real AND imaginary bugs and toys.  (Try me.)  The way to a human’s heart?  Cuteness, persistence and when all else fails – throw yourself in front of them when they are walking and block the path (or sit on their head).   (What can I say?  I can be a bit…er…demanding.)  I don’t necessarily need another cat around for company but I’ve been with others my whole life and would do okay with one or two!  I was rescued with my siblings and my mom from a parking lot when I was just hours old.  Sometimes black cats don’t find homes right away and I’m still waiting for mine.   If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting him, please click here to email his foster parent. If you are unable to send an email to the foster parent through the link included above, please contact us and let us know what kitty you're interested in.  You may also fill out our adoption questionnaire to speed up the screening process.  Be sure to name the cat in the CAT PREFERENCE field at the beginning of the questionnaire. DOB: 8/30/16 Yes, I know… I’m quite a looker. My name is Ada and I’m an awesome Anatolian Shepherd mix, though I am not nearly as big as purebred Anatolian Shepherds. I am only about 55 lbs. I have lovely big brown eyes and a very expressive face. I make my foster mom laugh with all the funny faces I make.  While people who meet me for the first time admire my gorgeous looks, my foster mom says my personality is even better. I am a very good natured, calm and mellow dog. I love going on walks, getting pettings and curling up next to my humans.  My foster mom says I’m very smart. Though I’d never seen one before, I (and my doggie friend Olympia) figured out how to use the doggie door in about 2 minutes. My foster mom says that is a record and in all her years of fostering no other dog was able to learn it so quickly. And of course I am house broken. I was rescued from the streets of Istanbul. The lady who rescued me flew me to LA and got me into foster care. I know I am very lucky for that and I hope my luck continues and I find a forever home to call my own - one where I can give and receive lots of love and affection. I am good with kids, cats and other dogs too. If you are interested in me or my friend Olympia, (CF9101), please click here to email my foster parent. DOB: 4/2013 Anabel just came back from a 2 year adoption, through no fault of her own. She's overcoming the resulting shyness very well. Originally found in the street, she thrives on love and attention, purrs, sleeps and cuddles with her foster mama, and comes running to greet you at the door. She's exceptionally large, especially long, and with her striking markings and big eyes we believe she's a good part Bengal. When she lived here before she would stand up, put her paws around the round doorknob, and open the door! She can be an only cat, but with careful introduction should be able to accept a companion. She's not an alpha cat at all. We want to be sure that, after all the changes she's been through, her next adoption will be the last. She loves young foster kittens If you are interested in learning more about this kitty or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 7/15/18 Angel was a bottle baby so she likes to cuddle, albeit on her own time. She has quite the sassy, quirky little personality. Three of her most adorable traits are the adorable chirping sounds she makes when she talks, her huge owl-like eyes and her ability to play fetch. Angel absolutely loves to chase the cat wand and laser toy with her human and she is quite content playing alone with her cat toys while her human is at work. She would be okay in a single-cat household or adopted into a home with existing pets. She is good buddies with Ebony (CF8832) and Beauty (CF8831), so if you are looking to adopt 3 fur babies, they are a fantastic trio! You are invited to meet Angel (and her buddies) and see for yourself what a silly, sassy, gorgeous girl she is. DOB: 5/14/2012Arwen is a gorgeous little brown tabby and white girl with soft golden eyes.  This sweet girl was rescued from death along with her 4 less than 1 week old kittens.  The shelter had planned to kill the entire family but they were spared and brought to foster care just in the nick of time.  Arwen was in desperate shape, little more than skin and bones, and unable to care for her kittens.  She was weak, scared, and depressed.  The 4 babies were sent to a bottle feeder where they flourished and Arwen spent a solid week being syringe fed as she lacked the energy and motivation to even eat.  Time brought healing and as Arwen began to put on weight, she also began to take an interest in life again.  Arwen has made some tremendous strides forward and her progress in her new foster home has been lovely to experience. When first rescued and brought back to health she was really afraid of hands. She was always very happy to see her foster mom and would roll around asking for pets, but she was still afraid of human hands.  After a couple of pets she would swat at the hand with just her pads, no claws.Arwen is now out and about playing with the other felines in her foster home. She has four playmates, and she loves them all! She has never, even from the very first time, hissed or growled at another cat. Even at the adoption events that are stressful in nature, she has never hissed at another cat. She is very playful and runs around with the 6 months old kittens, (it's a good match- she's a small cat!). From time to time the two neighborhood feral cats come in to say hi; they're all friends and Arwen is very curious about them.  Plus, it looks like sweet little Arwen has found herself a boyfriend- at least he thinks so!  It's endearing to witness. It's easy to see that the guys would like her; she prances around being light on her feet when she walks and run! She no longer is afraid of hands, as long as the hands don't make quick, rushed, and erratic movements, she loves, loves, loves to be petted, and she will purr up a storm if you let her.  She is still afraid of an erect body and a human body coming towards her, but even here she has changed dramatically with each passing day. Especially if she's up high on a cat tree or kitchen counter or the like, she has no problem with a body walking towards her. As a matter of fact, then she seeks out your hand for pets! Lately, Arwen has started to really want the human presence. Instead of running away, she has followed her foster parent around from room to room in the house; not glued to the heals, but all of a sudden she has appeared in the same room. Her foster mom was positively surprised the other day when her roommate told her that Arwen had come into the kitchen and rubbed against her legs, even though the roommate was fully standing up making tea. Later when the roommate was on the couch, Arwen came up next to her and rubbed her head against the roommates hand. Arwen needs patience, love, and understanding as she continues to recover from whatever made her so terribly scared.  Arwen would be best suited in a calm, quiet household where she can feel secure and safe.  If you're looking for a kitty who is low maintenance, but is a good playmate for your cat, Arwen would be your cat!  Arwen would not do well with children at this point in time, and wants a dog free home. Arwen is fixed, tested for FIV/Felv, microchipped, dewormed, flea treated, and up to date on vaccines. If you are interested in learning more about Arwen or in adopting her, please click here to email her foster parent. DOB: 7/13/13  Astro is a sweet, affectionate and beautiful short haired black cat with a white locket on his chest and another white patch on his belly. He also has an adorable snaggletooth which you can see in the photos.  Astro is super people-oriented and is looking for a loving human family to call his own. He loves to hang out on the couch, half on the laps of his people to watch TV. He is active and playful, but also likes to take long afternoon naps under the covers. Astro had a good life for several years in a home with a female cat, but was surrendered when the family got a dog. Astro would do best as an only pet or in a home with a submissive female cat. DOB: 5/13/19 Our adorable Astropop is your typical fun and happy-go-lucky teenager. Like most teenage boys, he has two loves in life – hanging out with his buddies …. and food! The hanging out part usually involves good-natured playing.  His buddies are so important to him that we’d love to see him in a home with another feline who has the same energy level as he does. His love of food is just as cute … the minute Astropop hears a can or bag being opened, he makes a bee-line for the sound to see what delicious morsel he might get!  He’ll even try to steal everyone else’s food! Astropop also has the sweetest meow we’ve heard in a long time – it’s actually a little squeak.  Very endearing.  In fact, that sums Astropop up perfectly – his sweet personality, adorable face, and gorgeous eyes make him irresistibly endearing.
