About Oreo

Oreo is a sweet, friendly, cuddly cat dreaming of finding her furever home. She is very easygoing, friendly and affectionate, and she loves curling up in a good drawer. She's just an all around sweet, friendly, affectionate cat who is going to make someone very lucky! She gets along with other cats, as well as dogs. Adopt one cat/kitten and get a 2nd one for ½ fee. Felines do better in pairs or even more than two. Some of our kitties are bonded pairs and will need to go together to their purrrfect home. Of course if you only want to adopt one then we also have kitties who can be adopted alone. We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption. Adoption Fees for Cats and Kittens: $50 for one and $75 for two This includes vetting, UTD Vaccinations and spay or neuter We ask that you fill out an adoption application before you meet our animals. You can download it here: http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt Please note: We are not a shelter. Each animal is fostered in an individual home, and we do not have a kennel or facility that you can visit and see all the animals. Before you visit our animals, we ask you to go through the application and brief phone interview process. We will then schedule a meet and greet with the animal and their foster parents. Every adoption starts with a 1 week sleepover, so before finalizing we can all make sure it's a perfect fit. We are all volunteers and do this in our spare time, we do not have set hours and we answer all calls and emails as quickly as we can. Thank you so much for your interest in our FUR Babies!

Harper, is such a sweet, loyal and loving dog. She loves to be the center of attention and to be snuggled. For the most part she is very calm and low key, occasionally she will get a crazy spurt of energy and run around all excited, but those moments are few and far in between. She doesn't often bark but she does do this exited growl like sound when she's trying to let you know she wants to eat or go outside. She loves spending time outdoors and a fenced in yard to give her that freedom would be the ideal situation. She's amazing with children! She is very motherly and protective over them and always makes sure they are safe, she absolutely adores the kids. She can be a little shy with men, but once she knows she's safe, she's just as comfortable with them. Harper was one of several strays living at a business downtown. When we rescued her, she was living under a trailer and she was in very bad shape. She had 2 broken ankles, and open wounds all over her body. The broken ankles healed on their own, and by the time we got her condition stabilized, we realized she was pregnant. She had 7 adorable puppies, and they have all been adopted. She's now ready to find her furever home. Harper is heartworm positive, and FUR will cover the cost of her heartworm treatment. She's scared of mops, brooms or anything with a long stick (probably due to the abuse from her past). She cowards or runs away and hides. She's not a fan of loud noises and will nervously run away. She's very in-tune with human emotions and always seems to know when she needs to give extra love and moral support. She'd make a great dog for someone that needs emotional support. I think her rough past makes her more empathetic to humans emotional needs. She's such a wonderful dog. To have gone through all of the awful things she went through, and to come into her foster home and fully trust the children and family not just with herself but with her litter of puppies is beautiful and a perfect example of the huge loving heart that she has. She's an incredibly special dog! We start all of our adoptions with a one week sleepover, so you know everything there is to know before finalizing the adoption. Adoption Fees for dogs/puppies 6 months old or older: $150, $225 for under 6 months. This includes vetting, microchip, UTD Vaccinations and spay or neuter. We ask that you fill out an adoption application before you meet the puppies. You can fill out an adoption application here: http://www.floridaurgentrescue.com/adopt show less

Paxon is a 4-year-old treeing walker coonhound learning to adjust to “normal” dog life (aka cuddles, treats, toys, and unlimited human affection). Paxon is crate and potty trained. He is very quiet and likes to sit back and observe. He is a very gentle soul that enjoys spending his days napping. Paxon gets along well with other calm dogs that let him have his own space when he’s feeling scared. Living in an actual home is new to him and he’s beginning to understand that household items and noises aren’t anything he needs to be afraid of. Walks and car rides require guidance and being alert (with a harness AND slip lead) but he is starting to enjoy that good dog life with all of the smells/play and none of the hard [hunting] work. Paxon will thrive in a home filled with love, patience, and an understanding that he’ll take a little more time to open up. He’s such a sweet pup and will make a great companion!
