About Sammy D6526

We rescued Sammy in 2016 from an over-crowded Bay Area shelter. Sammy is friendly loves gentle attention and takes treats gently. He has very expressive ears and beautiful tail feathers. Sweet Sammy seems like one of those boys that would follow you everywhere! He is very polite and especially loves having another playful dog in the home. He is a love. Watch his shelter video by taken volunteers! Sammy was adopted to a local loving home in Aug. 2017. He was a very happy well-adjusted dog here in California. He has always been great with other dogs. Unfortunately his loving owners had to move to Texas and Sammy was returned. The loud Texas thunderstorms and constant neighborhood construction noises made him fearful. Update: He is now doing much better in his local Bay Area foster home. Loud noises/the delivery truck/bicycles can be a distraction but Sammy listens to correction and settles. He truly wants to please. Sammy would be happiest with another playful dog unless the home can exercise him and take him out for dog socials. He is well-behaved for car rides and on leash at our showcases. Sammy wants to bond to a person and will be your best friend! Adult home. Kids 12 yrs+. He is doing great at his local foster home and is a sweetie! Sammy is patiently waiting for that loving Bay Area home.YouTube: https://youtu.be/eRHqIST_WIg

Their mom is Minnie Terrier mix 13 lbs. We rescued her when she was very pregnant from a shelter. At her foster home she gave birth to 6 puppies (5 females & 1 male Disney Litter) on 3/22/20. Dad is unknown. Anna (see my Instagram post!) is a good eater very affectionate and wags her tail the most. She is very happy and sweet. Adorable with blue eyes. She is the runt of the litter and has a wobbly walk at 6 weeks old. We were told by our vet to watch her for now to see how her rear legs develop as she grows. Anna at 7 weeks old is showing signs of cerebellar hyposplasia neurological disorder. She loves going into the yard to play and get fresh air/sun. These puppies were all raised in their foster home with a backyard. They need homes with attached yard to play and have quick access to potty business. Need puppy supervision and training with someone working from home or only gone short hours under 3-4 hours as they age. Young puppies have to go potty often and chew things that may harm them. All are social and lovable. Kids 8 yrs & up only. FAQ 5/19/20 Update: Our vet confirmed. Sadly she has Cerebellar Hypoplasia. There is no treatment. We can only hope that as she grows she learns to adjust and the symptoms do not get worse. Dogs with this can live long lives but need extra care and supervision. Update from foster home: Zeke has come along way. When we got him he was so starved you could feel his ribs and hip bones. It's taken him a long time to trust but with his abusive last home that is what is expected. Ezekiel loves his little squeaky toys (doesn't squeak them) just loves to carry around the house and when done carries them inside his kennel. Kind of a little toy hoarder. He also loves playing with his foster home's little female dog. Very adorable personality. Zeke would be great in a home as an only dog or with another small female companion. He would do best in a home with one person preferable; female since the male was the abuser in his last household. Ezekiel needs to learn that he is safe and feels loved. He does well at temp. vacation foster home (very experienced) with another gentle male dog and loves his walks. He will need an experienced one person adult-only home. NO KIDS since he may nip. Zeke also tries to guard his master. This will take an experienced home that knows to put Zeke away when he exhibits this behavior—most commonly when visitors come to house. He is content being somewhere by himself when guests are visiting. He prefers quiet routine walks around neighborhood. He is fearful at new and busy places. We are looking for a home with someone that is willing to work with him in the situations he is fearful of; public etc. show less

Frankie came into FFR on 6/8/11 for our help to find her a new adoption home. Frankie is a very special dog. She comes from an abusive past and has flourished despite her past treatment. She is very curious yet cautious of new experiences. She does have high prey drive to other dogs and needs to be on leash at all times for control outside of her home. She has learned to play with toys and sleep in her crate. She is very smart and tries to avoid when she knows it’s time to do something she doesn’t want to do so we are working on her obedience manners. Frankie hasn’t had a lot of attention in her short life so she is very reluctant to let you stop petting her. With supervision she ignored the foster home's cat & fine with same size male dog. Frankie needs a very experienced pack leader guardian to train her. Adult home. No kids. **If you can't give her a home but can donate to help with her boarding care and training we greatly appreciate it. Please be sure to note that your donation is for Frankie. Update: Frankie is doing great at her trainer/boarding home. She went out for a social walk at a park and streets and she was great meeting new people. She ignored other barking dogs but did bark at dogs at a store. She needs a forever very experienced home. Best as the only dog to continue her training. We are paying for her boarding with a trainer/boarding home. show less

She is friendly with people she knows and active. Good with other dogs she knows but can be dog dominate with some dogs when she was at doggie day care or strange dogs on walks. In her temp foster home she was not good with female GSD that was off leash and ran up to her. Katniss needs a very experienced guardian to guide and continue her training. She had a mild ear infection which was treated and she is fine now. Needs experienced guardian for training and exercise with no other dog and understand that not all dogs are social butterflies. Katniss is loyal and bonds to her guardian and prefer to be the only dog. No dog parks. Katniss would be a great best friend and hiking buddy! Prior to temp. foster home. Katniss was doing great at her boarding & trainer's home. She is smart loves people attention and been well with their other dogs with trainer supervision. They have high GSD training experience to watch body language and their GSD are trained. In a temp. foster home she adjusted and affectionate. Loves her home life relaxing hanging out with her people toys treats uses a doggie door and large yard. But now she prefers to be the only dog and good with people she knows. Loves treats and know 'Sit' command. With visitors she needs time to warm up and trust. At their home she barked at visitors at door. They are not as experienced and do not feel comfortable to train her due to her strength. They are frail and cannot leash train. May need to use gentle leader or no pull harness. She is a brave GSD. She needs a adult home for basic quiet walks routine home with backyard and experienced/confident adult guardian with GSD. show less
