Chai was found stray, age 3 years. At 36 lbs is a great medium sized dog who does well with other dogs, he is well mannered when he meets them or passes them by on a walk. He plays well with his foster sister who is 60 lbs, and holds his own. He is not fond of high energy young dogs in his face and too much constant energy. He needs an active stimulating home and would do well with another nice dog of equal or larger size, as he may exhibit some separation anxiety if left home completely alone. (He is a bit of a velcro dog with his people, but finds comfort being with his doggie buddy). Chai does well on walks and hikes, he does tug at the leash which can be managed through consistent training. He is not a barker, except out of excitement during play. He knows basic commands, yes, sit and come. Chai is not crate trained and does not like being confined. He has been getting used to normal household and street sounds, earlier he was afraid of vacuum and cars and now has been fairly desensitized with both. He may be a bit shy when meeting a person for the first time but does not take long to acclimate. His new people must use extreme caution with open doors or windows as he is a very quick escape artist. Chai really enjoys his backyard play and hang time, and many times does not want to come inside unless there's a high value treat offered. All in all, with some patience, consistent and loving discipline, he is a great dog. show less

SPECIAL NEEDS Tiny Goosie was abandoned on the side of the road by her family who no longer wanted her, and now a happy new life has sprouted. Goosie is looking for a calm, stable home where she can settle into a routine, and enjoy her golden years with someone who is home all or most of the time, and with special needs dog experience with ability to make her their priority. She should be the only companion animal in the home as she guards her resources so may lash out at other animals. She is house trained but may have accidents due to her age and medications. Her age-related health challenges have improved through prescription diet, supplements and medications (arthritis, early stage renal disease, liver imbalance, tooth tartar, heart murmur) - she remains a feisty girl despite deafness, blindness in the left and partial sight in the right eye. She enjoys short 10-20 minute walks but due to limited mobility needs to be carried for curbs, stairs and uneven terrain as she may stumble and fall. She loves cuddling and napping with her people when it suits her, playing with her toys, and her treats! Riding in a crate or carrier in the car is best and helps to calm her during short drives (which she finds stressful).
