~~Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat the pet for whatever symptoms present during the initial exam and follow up exams.~ Health: Alpine was turned into the animal shelter with a terrible injury to his foot.  No one seems to know what happened to his foot but it was left untreated for 10 days.  When he made it to our rescue, we noticed he smelled like a dead animal so gave him a bath but realized the smell was his rotting foot.  We took him to emergency room for immediate pain relief.  The next day, they amputated his dead foot.  There was no other choice. X-rays revealed that the bone was literally sticking out of the skin.  A couple of months later, Alpine continued to not gain any weight and had issues with vomiting.  After several tests, he was finally diagnosed with Megaesophagus.  This is a disorder of the esophagus that fails to propel adequate amounts of food and liquid from the mouth to the stomach.  So Alpine has a special highchair that he sits in to eat his meals.  That's really all there is to it and he looks adorable in it.   ***** Temperament: Super sweet little boy with a great personality despite his awful past.  He is fearful of men at first but he does warm up to them eventually.   Cheese helps speed up the process.  He loves playing outside, rolling in the grass and sunbathing.  He loves toys and going for walks!   He walks as if he still has four feet.   This sweetheart deserves a better life than what he's had so far.  Please be that person that makes the world a better place for him.   Where did he come from:  left at animal shelter with mangled foot.  Adoption: ***** $541.25 ($500.00 fee + $41.25 required 8.25% sales tax)***** Weight: 11.02 lbs. He loves to run around with the other dogs. He is a big cuddle bug. He is a larger pom but don't let that deter you, He is sooo cute and adorable. He is more sturdy than his smaller counterparts. Armani would love a family to be active with. Would make a good lap dog or walking partner. -- Where did he come from: He was surrendered to our rescue because his family was moving into an apt and couldn’t take him. Weight: 6 pounds ------- DOB:  4/12/12 ----------- Color: brown, tan and white ------- Health: Bean has a grade 4 heart murmur.  He is not on any medication but he may require meds in his future as he gets older.  Heart murmurs are very common in small breed dogs.  --------- Temperament: Fearful at first but will warm up to you and be sweet.  He loves to cuddle and go for car rides.  He likes to be snuggled up in blankets.  ------- Adoption Fee: $216.50 ($200.00 + $16.50 required 8.25% sales tax) ----- If you want to adopt me, please e-mail: info@recycledpomeranians.com ------   E-MAIL INQUIRES: Please be patient with us! We're taking care of a lot of kids! The foster kids AND our own. Plus, we have families, homes and even full time jobs. We're giving meds to the sick kids, playing with the healthy kids, and loving on all the kids as often as possible. We're doing their laundry, trying to teach them manners and taking them on walks. In other words, we're just a little busy but we'll return email inquiries just as fast as we pawssibly can. ------ ADOPTION FEES: When you see the adoption donation amounts, we'd like you to know that 90% of the time the donation amount DOESN'T EVEN COME CLOSE to covering that kid's dogtor bills. Most of the kids have a minimum $500 vet bill that we pay out of our own pockets. But the impawtant thing is to get these kids the medical care they need and help them find the pawfect family. That's our top pawority. (Sorry, I just can't resist using "paw" whenever I can!) show less

Bubbles has an enlarged heart Although we do our very best to make sure your new pup is in tiptop health before adoption, things could drastically change a month later.  Since we don’t have a long health history of your adopted dog, we can only treat her for whatever symptoms that present during the initial exam and follow up exams. - - Health: When Bubbles first came into our rescue (early 2018) a benign mass was removed from her neck. She also was successfully treated for heart worms and numerous parasites.  This girl was very sick when we first received her.  *****On April 24th, she was diagnosed with an enlarged heart.  She is on Lasix and Enalapril twice a day for the rest of her life. Initially it was difficult to administer her medication. She now enjoys her medication when it is put into a small bit of liverwurst and offered as a "treat".  *****    No other obvious health issues have been diagnosed. - - Temperament: She has only been used for breeding, so she is more comfortable being with dogs than people.  It will take some time and patience for her to learn that people can be nice.  If you decide to adopt Bubbles, I hope you will consider that it will take some time before she becomes the lap dog you might be hoping for.   Bubbles has been seriously mistreated her whole life.  She is not going to trust you immediately.  Please don't apply to adopt her unless you are very serious about putting in the time it will take to help her adjust to a "normal" dog life.  ----------------------------------------------------------- She has never bitten anyone but she does run from you when she is outside and she will back herself into a corner when you reach for her inside.  When you reach down to pick her up, she will throw her front paws up in the air and it almost looks like a small child reacting to someone picking them up.   It would be funny except that she does it out of fear.   I believe it will take a very long time for bubbles to relax and enjoy being part of the family. She will not be easy but it will be very rewarding when she comes to you for a treat and to enjoy some ear scratching for the first time. Update 7/1/2019 Bubbles still retreats if you go to get her; however, she is starting to come and laydown and relax near her foster family daily especially if another dog is already there. She likes to be on the sofa and bed and will use dog steps to get up and down from the bed.  -------------------------- Bubbles knows how to use a doggie door.  She is crate trained as well.  She is walking very well on a leash hooked to her collar or harness.  She likes the harness the best and it's the safest way to walk her.  She is most cooperative when walking alongside other confident dogs but she will walk by herself too.  She will just be more on alert.  Where did she come from: She came from puppy mill closure.  It was a really awful place. —— Adoption: $324.75 ($300.00 fee + $24.75 required 8.25% sales tax) Weight: 9 lbs. These were surgically removed. She was covered in fleas and so much filth she wasn't white anymore. She was treated for a bad UTI and is now on special urinary food. No obvious issues found during vet exam----- Temperament: She is the sweetest girl! Very loving to her person but with otherwise avoid most people until she gets to know you. She worships my husband and tolerates me (hehee). She must be kept a close eye on as she can easily dart out a door or get out a hole in the fence or climb over a fence. She can get over or through the majority of my pet gates in the house.  She is sweet sweet sweet. She grooms very well but not the biggest fan of the sprayer in the shower. She is all around pretty perfect and the sweetest girl considering what she has been through. ------- Where did she come from: She was a stray running the streets for a couple of weeks when someone contacted us to help catch her. Our volunteer set a live trap to catch her and within an hour she was caught. ------- Adoption: ***** $541.25 ($500.00 fee + $41.25 required 8.25% sales tax) ***** Weight: 8.2 lbs.
