About Awesome AUSTIN--video!

*AUSTIN is on The Rescue Train. If you are interested in adopting AUSTIN please fill out our adoption application by clicking this by clicking this LINK. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the "Adopt A Dog" page. For more information please email us at info@therecuetrain.org* -- Awesome Austin was only seven months old when Hurricane Harvey hit Texas. He boarded The Rescue Train in November, with 62 other survivors and airlifted to Los Angeles. He arrived emaciated with treatable medical conditions and post-traumatic stress. After several months of TLC in a foster home, he’s happy, healthy and homeward bound! Austin is a medium to high energy Labrador/Vizsla/Hound mix, 2-year-old (born 1/2017), weighing in at 55lbs. He’s got supermodel eyes the color of a sunset and the softest fur in town! He is an exuberant pup, yet has sweetness to his soul. He would do best in a mellow environment that still allows him to be active. Austin can be goofy when he plays and it’s hilarious to watch him. He loves to run and throw his toys in the yard and for that reason he would not be a good apartment dog. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body but because of his strength and enthusiasm, we do not want to place him in a home with small dogs or small children. If he were to live with another dog, it should be a calm dog his size. Our dog trainer thinks Austin has a wonderful temperament and is going to be fabulous dog if someone will continue to work with him. Whoever adopts Austin, needs to be committed to providing him with structure for the first couple of months so he can settle in. He would do best with an experienced large breed dog owner that has had intermediate to advanced dog training experience. We have crate trained him so that will help this process for an adopter. He is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. If you can open your heart and home to Austin, please fill out our application. He is ready to WAG HIS WAY INTO YOUR HEART! Don't forget to check out his video on this page! -- *APPLICANT MUST BE AT LEAST 21 YEARS OLD* *APPLICANT MUST LIVE IN THE LOS ANGELES AREA* PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT OWN A FACILITY. Our animals are in private foster homes. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please fill out our online application. Or check our mobile adoption schedule on our home page.

To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the "Adopt A Dog" page.* Meet 3 pound Tuti! She's an Olympic level snuggler looking for a forever home with a huge heart. This delicate dog has been diagnosed with encephalitis which is an inflammation of the brain that caused seizures and left her blind. She needs a little more patience and love than your typical dog, but she gives that love right back with her super sweet cuddles. To read more about her condition click here: Encephalitis In Dogs She's extremely quiet and she tends to spend most of her time in a small soft pen, where she's perfectly happy. If you feel like putting a Muffin's Halo (a bumper for blind dogs) on her now and then, she's happy to explore outside her pen, and when she's relaxed you can throw her into a Bjorn while you're doing errands around the house. We believe she's only a few years old, and her condition does require regular medication to ward off seizures, but it definitely seems to be improving ever-so-slightly over time. Adhering to a strict medication regimen and special diet seem to have helped Tuti beat the odds thus far. The cost of her medication & food is approximately $250 per month. The vet is still tweaking her meds and are trying to taper her off one of them so the cost may go down a little. We are looking for someone to be this girl’s angel and give her a home and the love and care she needs to live out the remainder of her life. We would have to have a crystal ball to know what her life expectancy is. Our vet does predict it will be cut short but we believe in miracles. Tuti has fought so hard and come so far, please consider giving this sweet girl the forever home she so deserves. If you have the love to share with such a wonderful little sweetheart, in her way she'll absolutely love you back. -- PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT OWN A FACILITY. Our animals are in private foster homes. Applications are required PRIOR to meeting one of our animals and are used to set up a safe and successful adoption. Please don't be shy and answer the questions thoroughly. To learn more about our entire process please visit www.therescuetrain.org and click on the "Adopt A Dog" page. For more information please email us at info@therecuetrain.org* Hi! I'm Roxi, the happiest, wiggliest, most affectionate 4 year-old Lab mix, who wants nothing more than a family to call my own. I got on The Rescue Train when my family had to move to a place that wouldn’t allow me. That was very hard and I miss them but I feel so much love here on The Rescue Train as I wait to meet my FURever home. I'm eager to meet you, because I know you'll find it hard not to fall in love with me. When I first boarded The Rescue Train, I was quite timid and insecure. But my foster dad, Aaron, took me to obedience classes so I could turn my frown upside down. I have now blossomed into a more confident, happy-go-lucky girl who LOVES belly rubs. While I still may get a little shy with new people and settings, I am quick to warm up and make everyone my new best friend. Look at some of the tricks I've learned in my obedience classes (see video). I was born with a funny little curve in my nose. It causes me zero health issues and The Rescue Train volunteers tell me that it makes me extra adorable (seriously, it's endearing!). I don't have a mean bone in my body, but due to my size (53 lbs.) and enthusiasm, I should be in a home without small children as I could knock them over to kiss them. I also need an owner who has large-breed experience because I’m pretty strong. Ideally, I'd love a secure yard where I can run around and you can play fetch with me (hint hint). If I were to have a doggy sibling, it should be a calm male that is similar in age and size. I have been patiently waiting for you, and I know you're out there! I'm the total package- loyal, endlessly loving and eager to please. Won't you consider making me your new best friend and family member? --- PLEASE NOTE: WE DO NOT OWN A FACILITY.
