Charlie is fed twice daily and is on a nutritional diet of grain-free, salmon/fish based, kibble and wet food with the occasional rotisserie shredded chicken used to reward good behavior. Charlie is on monthly Credelio flea and tick pills used as a preventative and prescribed by our vet. We use positive-based training and Charlie thrives with attention, redirection, patience and affirmative acknowledgement. Charlie is not a barker but will let you know if someone is at the door. He takes his job of “mini security guard,” seriously. He is a pleasure to have around and easy to love. Muffin:SF,4y,13lbs, Terrier X

Miniature Pinscher

Muffin is a sweetie! No added calories! MUFFIN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Muffin Best Guess for Breed: Terrier blend Best Guess... show more

Muffin is a sweetie! No added calories! MUFFIN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Muffin Best Guess for Breed: Terrier blend Best Guess for Age: Between 3 - 4 yrs SEX: Spayed female Approximate Weight: 13 - 15 lbs., full grown Gets Along With: Most small dogs and kids so long as they (the human kids) receive supervised patience and proper training. Currently Living at: LA area foster Muffin is Looking For: A family to provide long walks and hiking trips to the beach or dog friendly places. Muffin can't wait to gallivant around town meeting your friends and family and is excited to start obedience school to learn her best manners. She still has a lot of “puppy energy” and will need plenty of exercise. Are you looking for an exploring buddy? Maybe a cuddle buddy too? What My Foster Says About Me: Muffin is doing really well and is a very sweet and happy little girl. She's been good with our small dogs and thrives on human companionship and playtime. She's getting a lot of exercise and attention, and is very content to snuggle and relax with “her humans,” after dinner. She does really well in the crate overnight and has good table manners. She still has some puppy behavior (e.g., jumps up when excited, tries to get up on furniture), but she's easily redirected to play with her toys and jumping is minimal. She’s getting better with pulling on the leash on walks. She's a very sweet playful dog! Your new pup will need to work on their housetraining, getting to know your floorplan, backyard and areas where she is allowed to relieve herself. She will also need to go to obedience school so she can continue to grow into a well-socialized canine citizen. TO ADOPT: The adoption donation includes the cost of medical vetting, grooming, her food, microchip, transport and a robust care package. Muffin recently had her teeth cleaned by our vet too! If you are interested in adopting Muffin, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at: KenMarRescue.org Ken-Mar Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Sonya:4y,IT Gryhnd,MinPin

Italian Greyhound

Here to steal your heart, Sonya needs a forever home! Miniature Pinscher/Italian Greyhound blend. Age: 3-4 years Spayed Female, 15-20 lbs., full grown. Ok w/gentle beings human+K9+ESA certified. Trained: knows Sit & Fetch. Apply online: KenMarRescue.org Adults only (or older, gentle, teens ok). Homeowners with a secured yard in the greater So Cal area. We do home checks on all adoptions. I’m Looking For: Sonya here, ready to steal your heart! I’ve had two families since I was born and now a third with my foster family. The first family thought I was a nice puppy and invested hundreds in my training. I even graduated as a Certified Therapy Dog. But once they had a human baby, they focused their attention elsewhere and gave me up to their friends. I did very well at my second home, but the older male dog started dominating me and I really didn’t like it to tell you the truth. So my second family asked their vet for help and he recommended Ken-Mar Rescue. I’m ready to meet you and find my happily ever after! I’m looking for a family who will appreciate all that my years of training have to offer. I am used to riding in planes, trains and automobiles as an Emotional Service Animal and am a very good ambassador to rescued dogs everywhere. I know many commands including Sit and Fetch. I am so excited to start exploring my new forever neighborhood, dog friendly places, go on long hikes and new adventures with my forever humans. So what do you say? Is it my lucky day? What My Foster Says About Me: Sonya is an adorable, sweet-hearted dog. She's hasn‘t had any accidents in the house, is easygoing with all the small, gentle dogs she lives with here in foster care. She loves people and she has a strong urge to give everyone hugs! She is gentle with her human interactions and stays back from the squirrels, lizards and other garden inhabitants. She is a little wary of the resident garden gnomes (lol). Sonya likes toys but is not a heavy chewer and has not chewed anything. She thinks of her sock monkey as her baby. She's very obedient and is a great little watch dog. If you say, "NO!" she listens. She's classically trained and she's conscientious. This may be because of her Therapy Certification Training and because she’s never known street/stray or shelter life as she’s only lived in homes before. Sonya walks well on leash and comes with a robust care package, dog apparel and pet bed. Sonya is housebroken but needs to be given ample time to digest her food and to have a bowel movement in a designated area in the back yard or when on a walk. Showing her where you expect her to relieve herself will, of course, be up to you to teach her for the first few months or so. Sonya does not come with a pre-programmed smartphone application embedded in her brain of your home’s floorplan (lol). Sonya is crate-trained at night. TO ADOPT: The adoption donation for Sonya includes her food, grooming, medical/vet (she recently had complete dental cleaning), vaccinations, spay, microchip, flea/tick Credelio treatment as prescribed by our vet for all of our orphans, and transport. If you are interested in adopting, please complete the online Adoption Questionnaire at: KenMarRescue.org Ken-Mar Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption.
