*ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED* This pretty girl is 4 year-old Allie. Sadly, Allie is losing her home because her family is moving in a few weeks and they can’t take her with them. 😔 We’d love to bring Allie into our rescue, but we need a committed foster or adopter first. 🙏 Allie is AMAZING with people, including infants and elderly/fragile individuals! She’s a little shy when she first meets someone new, but gets over it quickly and wants to be best friends. 💕 She’s currently living with a 3 month-old baby and two disabled great-grandparents. Allie has been nothing but sweet, gentle and attentive to all of their needs. 😇 Her only challenge seems to be living with other animals, so she’ll need to be the only fur baby in the home. Allie loves hugs, walks and her toys. ⚾ She’s almost always smiling and often does an adorable, goofy pibble sit that will make you want to adopt her today. 😍 She promises to be the goodest girl when she gets a new home and will surely fill it with happiness and love. Are you ready to adopt her yet??? 💜 Please help us get Allie into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. Don't forget, Passion for Pitties is a 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax-deductible!…every little bit helps! This handsome stud is 2 year-old Bruno. Bruno’s story is an all too sad one. He was found wandering the streets of Tijuana until a good Samaritan intervened to give him a shot at a better life. The wonderful people at Passion For Pitties were so kind to take me into the rescue and now I spend my days with my lovely foster family. My foster is still getting to know me, but I have settled in quite nicely since arriving home. Sweet Bruno is extremely affectionate and gives lots of licks as well as enjoys receiving pets! One of his favorite things to do is lay on top of his foster dad’s foot while he works on his laptop (his foster dad that is). He is dog friendly and does great with his other doggie siblings. Bruno is still settling in to domestic life and so his zeal can be a little intense, since he is still adjusting to his new world, but he continues to do well with meeting new people and new dogs. Bruno knows his name and will come when called. He is also potty-trained. Will also require some basic obedience training, which he should learn very quickly, as he has a strong desire to please. This is what we know about Bruno at this time and will update as additional information comes in. Please help us get sweet Bruno into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. Meet uber-handsome 7 year-old Buck! 😍 Buck is a rescue favorite who is sadly returning to us for the second time. Sometimes despite everyone’s best efforts, it’s just not the right fit, so we’re determined to find his perfect match and make this his LAST forever home. 💙 Buck loves people and does well with large, submissive, dog-friendly female dogs. 🐶 Cats, small dogs and animals, and babies are a no-go for Buck 🚫 but he does amazing with older kids (12+)! His favorite pastimes are chewing on bones and toys, playing ball, and goofing off outside. He is very mellow when at home and likes to lay his head down on his foster dad’s lap. He sleeps right through the night without any fuss. He knows all his basic commands and is potty-trained and crate-trained. Thank you in advance for your interest in our Buck! Please help us get Buck into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. ***ADOPTER or FOSTER or FINANCIAL SPONSOR NEEDED ASAP - needs rescue by THURSDAY, 10/8 🆘*** *Extended until Monday 10/19 at 2:00 PM - PLEASE HELP* Meet adorable Dutch. Dutch is around 5 years-old and was dumped by his “family” on 8/20/2020. 💔It was clear upon intake that Dutch was fearful and had little to no training. The shelter believes that he was left in the backyard on his own for a significant part of his life, likely as he came out of puppyhood and became difficult for the family to handle. So rather than work with him, they let his fear and uncertainty around new people get worse until they decided to abandon him. 😠 Dutch shouldn’t have to die because his former family failed him. Please help us get him out! 🙏 Dutch has been selective with people since arriving at the shelter and will require a dog-savvy family who will be patient with him as he learns to trust again. He’ll also need training and appropriate socialization, so for now, he needs a home without other animals or young children. This is Dutch’s last chance. 💔 Please help us give him the life that he very much deserves. 💕 Please help us get sweet Dutch into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. Don't forget, Passion for Pitties is a 501(c)(3), so all donations are tax-deductible!…every little bit helps! Hello everyone! My name is Etta and I am a sweet loving 8 year-old Pittie! My name is Etta and I listen pretty well when my name is called. I’ve had plenty of experience with puppies of my own. Because of this, I am very CARING of my 2 ½ year old foster brother Dallas. He and I gently play together a few times a day, often times playing tug-o-war with the toys, which I am perfectly fine with sharing. If I am done playing before Dallas is, I gently start to tell him I’m over him and may even voice it a little bit, but never get aggressive. I LOVE to sleep on my fluffy bed next to my foster mom while she works during the day. We have a routine down to where if I get up, I typically need to go pee and as long as she listens, I don’t have any accidents in the house. Plus, I have a nice size yard to play in and get lots of exercise there. Walks are great too and will typically listen when told to ignore something, but I do get excited when I see someone or another pup that I want to play with. So, I am working on that! I also love my 17 year-old human foster brother. He will play with me and pet me and let me give him all kinds of kisses! We all usually have play time outside in the evening til we are all pooped out. I even like to lay on my Human Foster Brother and sit on his lap. I don’t get on the couch or beds unless you ask me to. When its bedtime, I will go into my crate no problem and sleep there through the night. It’s nice and cozy! Oh, I also love to go on car rides! We go at least once or twice per day. Starbucks trips for puppaccinos are my FAVORITE! I will climb up into the car no problem, but sometimes need assistance with getting out. I do have a tumor on my back leg, which will be getting removed in August. It doesn’t really bother me much, but it does get in the way of things. For the most part, I’m a pretty chill girl that loves to be by my foster mom’s side. I do bark a bit when I hear noises outside that indicates someone might be there, but I just want to make sure everyone is safe! Other than that, I do howl and bark a little when I want attention or when she leaves me at home, but will eventually settle down. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting my forever home! ***ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED BY 10/1/2020 🆘*** *UPDATE – Committed Foster Located – 10/4/2020* We now have a committed foster for Gypsy. All she needs now is her forever home! 💔If you’re interested, please submit an application ASAP; we can’t do anything without an approved app on file. 🙏 This beautiful girl is 5 year-old Gypsy. 😍 Gypsy lost her mom about 2.5 years ago 😪 and had been staying with another family member since her mom’s passing. Unfortunately, that family member didn’t want Gypsy and upon dumping her at the shelter on 8/6/2020, she made some very harmful accusations that were denied by other members of the family. Sadly, the shelter was required to make Gypsy available by rescue-only, which means that she hasn’t received the exposure or chance at being saved that she very much deserves. Gypsy needs to be the only animal in the home. No children or children 12+ are preferable until she receives training and acclimates to her new home environment. She’s a sweet, playful girl who struggles with maintaining her excitement, so she’ll need an active, dog-savvy family who will be dedicated to providing Gypsy with the proper training, socialization and guidance that every dog benefits from. Please help us get sweet Gypsy into a safe, loving forever home! If you're unable to help by adopting, sharing this post or donating is always appreciated. *ADOPTER OR FOSTER NEEDED ASAP* This adorable, smiley boy is 2 year-old Happy. Happy has been in and out of the shelter several times in his young life due to his humans’ lack of experience and training...this is likely to be Happy’s last chance. 💔 If we can’t find him a foster or adopter, there’s a very good chance that he won’t make it out of the shelter alive. PLEASE READ ENTIRE CAPTION FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Happy has been wonderful with everyone at the shelter, but two of his previous families have stated that he can get protective of people in the family. The families didn’t know how to stop that kind of behavior, so they allowed it to continue unaddressed until they decided to dump Happy back at the shelter and now Happy’s life is in the balance. 😔 Happy has never hurt anyone or even come close; he gets defensive and fearful so he just needs a patient, loving family willing to work on his confidence and socialization skills. He doesn’t deserve to languish away at a shelter until he’s euthanized because his humans have failed him. At this time, Happy needs to be the only animal. He lived with a baby in his last home and did great with her 💕, but she was one of the people that he was very protective over, so until he receives more structure and training, older children would be preferable. Happy is currently at Front Street Animal Shelter in Sacramento. Approved fosters/adopters may have to provide transportation, but the shelter is willing to help in any way that they can to ensure Happy gets another chance at a long, HAPPY life. 💙Please help us rescue him before it’s too late. 😔🙏 Please help us get sweet Happy into a safe, loving forever home! This adorable guy with the bunny ears is 1 ½ year-old Jamie. 😍 Jamie’s story is an all too familiar one. He came to the shelter as a stray and sadly no one came looking for him. 😪 He was becoming increasingly stressed at the shelter, but we were finally able to pull him and now he spends his days with a loving foster family until he finds his forever home. His foster family is still getting to know him, but he has settled in quite nicely. Jamie looks like a muscly macho man, but enjoys nothing more than chest scratches and snacks! His manners are really good with all the training that he has received and would most benefit from a dog-savvy family who can help him to continue becoming the polite gentleman he was destined to be! 😇 Although he has walked nicely alongside other dogs, in the home environment he would need to be the only dog. Hello everyone! My name is Kenny and am a SUPER handsome stud! I wound up at the Chula Vista Animal Care Facility because sadly my human family decided they no longer wanted to care for me. I’m not sure why, since I would never abandon them! The wonderful people at Passion For Pitties were so kind to pull me from the shelter and now I spend my days with my lovely foster family. My foster is still getting to know me, but I have settled in quite nicely since arriving home. Below is a little bit more about me: • I’m approximately 9 years old. • Weigh in at a svelte 90 pounds. • Overall my demeanor is quite calm and I’m very well behaved. • LOVE people and am a crowd favorite whenever I’m out in public! • Enjoy nothing more than spending time with my foster family and soaking up their AFFECTION! I will cry if we are not together. Who would have thought that a big guy like me would? • GREAT with all dogs, big and small. However, don’t like it when bigger dogs show aggression towards me. • I’m adventurous and always up for a car ride! • Going for walks is another favorite activity. • Am potty-trained and know some basic commands like “sit” and “down/off.” Also know “go to bed.”:) Please help us get sweet Kenny into a safe, loving forever home! This gorgeous girl is 7 year-old Mocha. 😍 Mocha arrived at the shelter as a stray on 06-15-2020 where she was found fending for herself alone in a field. 😔 Mocha looked to have been out on her own for quite some time before ending up in the shelter, as she had long nails, was very thin, and had a few cuts and scrapes on her legs. She was so scared and unsure of her surroundings that it took about 10 days before shelter staff could successfully even get her out of her kennel, 💔 but once they did, she became a totally different dog! Her little tail wouldn’t stop wagging as she happily greeted everyone she met and allowed all kinds of handling as the staff loved on her and did their exams. Mocha knows a couple of commands which leads us to believe that she was once part of a family, but due to being on her own for so long and/or no other formal training, she’ll need a strong handler who can help her learn polite doggie manners. 😇 Mocha will also need some work on being around other dogs, as she’s currently too excitable and doesn’t understand boundaries, so she’d do best in a home without other animals or small children for now. Once she’s had some basic training and safe, appropriate exposure, there’s a good chance that with the right family, she’ll eventually do well with other dogs or kids. 💜 If you would like to adopt our loving dog Mocha, please fill out an application at www.passionforpitties.com under the “Adorable Adoptables” heading. show less

This gorgeous, smiley girl is 4 year-old Orchid. 😍 According to her paperwork, this is her THIRD time in the shelter in her young life...she deserves so much better than this. 💔 Orchid is a bit uneasy with excessive human contact, likely because she hasn’t had much, if any, positive interactions with people outside of the shelter staff. ☹ However, she’s still very sweet and social and in a loving environment, we’re sure that she’ll turn into a cuddle bug in no time! In fact, Orchid has already made herself right at home with her foster family. She has become a Velcro dog that LOVES to give tons of kisses! Orchid LOVES toys and treats and did excellent when she met a rude, pushy dog at the shelter so we feel that she’ll do well with other respectful, dog-friendly dogs. 🐶 She still needs to learn manners and appropriate boundaries, so she’d do best in a home with kids 10+ and no cats or small animals. Puma is a 3-year-old stud muffin! After being adopted a few months ago, Puma was, sadly, returned to us. Since being adopted and then returned to us, his confidence has taken a pretty major hit, making him very nervous and untrusting of strangers. We don’t know much about what happened during his 2 month-long adoption, but we do know that he endured several significant and stressful changes in a very short time and learned that to deal with scary situations, he can be scary himself to back people off. Puma is NOT aggressive and he doesn’t want to hurt anyone; he just needs to re-learn how to cope and relax in uncomfortable situations. His current foster is doing an AMAZING job helping Puma and we’re confident that with continued training and the right family, Puma will be back to his happy-go-lucky self in no time! We just have to find a patient, loving family willing to put in the effort that Puma deserves to get him there. Puma LOVES balls! He’ll fetch and even drop the ball for you. He also tears toys apart, but won’t eat the stuffing. He goes into his crate with no issues, especially when you tell him to “hit the hay” and once he warms up to you, he LOVES to cuddle and give kisses! One of his favorite things is to have his belly rubbed. Please help us get sweet Puma into a safe, loving forever home!
