Well hi everyone, my name is Bentley! My owner left me at a shelter and said he would return for me, but he never did. The great people at CEBR heard what a handsome, lovable hunk I was, and the next thing you know I’m enjoying the good life with my foster family! I am 8 years old, about 55 pounds, fixed, and all caught up on my vaccinations. I had roundworms, but the vet gave me medicine for that! My back legs don’t work like they should, but I can walk and take a few stairs with no problems. I’m going to start physical therapy soon so I can regain full use of my back legs and romp around like my foster brother Charlie! I can be a stubborn bulldog at times (I know, what a shock!), but all I really want to do is chew on a good bone and snuggle with someone. I can get a little feisty with my bones, so I wouldn’t have any young children around. I get along well with other dogs so far, but I might want to chase a cat! I’m good about going potty outside and I sleep all night without barking or whining. If you’re looking for a lovable, squishy-faced bulldog who will follow you around like your shadow, likes snuggles and head rubs, and have a good supply of bones to chew on, then I’m your boy! My name is Butkus. Yes, I am named after the greatest linebacker the Chicago Bears ever had! I am a two year old Bulldog/Boxer mix. My former family had to move and they could not take me with them so they surrendered me to animal control where CEBR came to my rescue. I get along great with my foster sister, Maple. We play and she steals my toys, but I like her, so I let her take them and then I go get another (which she also steals). My former family had some small kids, but I tend to get excited and at times, would get a little rough. I would be best in a home with children that were at least 10 or older. I know some basic commands like sit, stay, lay down, and time for bed. I am usually a pretty good listener. I am completely potty trained and sit by the door when I need to go out. I have not had one accident since I came here. I am good when I am home alone as long as I am NOT in a crate or cage. I get extreme anxiety when I am in a crate. I am also going to need some work with walking on a leash. Before my foster parents, I had never been on a walk. I was just out in my fenced yard. My foster parents are working with me, but I really don't like the harness or that leash. I am going to need my forever family to keep teaching me. I do have some issues with my paws and sometimes get sores and lick them. My foster mom has been wiping my paws and applying some antiseptic and they are doing much better. I am not used to being taken care of like that, so I tend to get nervous. I love to snuggle on the couch, sit in the sun, and play with my foster sister. I love chasing squirrels and running around the yard. I love running after a ball and am learning to bring it back so you can throw it again...and again...and again. I am going to make some family extremely happy. After all, I am extremely good looking, and any dog named after a Chicago Bear is a keeper, right? Hello, I'm Dubbie, a three and a half year old hunk, with acres of wrinkles topped by my noble block-head. My tail is going all the time and my snorts are the sweetest. I like to keep fit, I'm great on a leash, stairs up and down are a breeze, and I like a good growly wrestle with my dog buddies. I didn't spend much time with other dogs, but I'm good with my foster siblings and was a gentleman at the CEBR anniversary celebration. When I was brought into my previous family, they had a little girl that I loved very much- so I'm good with kids. I take treats gently, but may be clumsy too muscular with very small children. My absolute favorite thing to do is accidentally roll a ball under the sofa or coffee table and then go about a dramatic retrieval. Chewing is the best, and I need lots of options- balls, antlers, bully sticks, or murdering and de-stuffing squeakies are all fun. I also enjoy furniture, footwear and other home items, so you'll need to keep a close eye on me. Edges of furniture and cushions are my favorite. It's understandable that sometimes I need to be in a crate, but if you give me blankets (I don't chew those) and a water bowl, I can spend a few hours or sleep overnight there. I need a bit of help with my manners. I know sit and will usually come when called, but sometimes I can't help myself and put my paws up on tables and try to steal things. Really, I'm looking for cuddles, play, attention and being included in your life. Chest and belly rubs are the ticket to my heart. I'll even sit around and watch you scrub the floor just because I want to be near you. Care: Dry eye-- eye drops once a day, perhaps prescription ointment in the long run keeping an eye out for yeast and bacteria in extra-deep paws-- Likes: chewing play-- he COULD get to fetch with a little work walks cuddles seeing what the humans are up to being outside and sniffing around Dislikes: vacuum cleaners things that sound like vacuum cleaners If you would like to donate to Dubbie's medial and physical therapy care, please go to our website at http://shopcebr.com/products/donation. Hi - I’m Lincoln. Rumor has it that I was six - seven months old when I came in from a puppy mill, but the vet thinks I’m actually between one and two years old. I’m tiny – under 30 pounds – and I’m more the size of a Frenchie versus an English Bulldog, but I’m definitely the latter. After a multi-hour drive from the country I’m now in the city and working on getting fully healthy so I can find my family. I’m getting there; I’m already gotten over roundworm and giardia. Since I’m so small you can easily pick me up, and I’ll try and bury my head in your shoulder. If you’re sitting on the couch I will try to find the spot where I can fit, whether that’s with my chin on your lap or my head behind your back or in the crook of you arm. Because I’m so small and adorable, when I’m on walks everyone stops to say hello. I’m still a little nervous around strangers, but I quickly warm up to them if they scratch behind my ears or on my butt. I’m not scared of new dogs either, but I prefer to ignore them at first until I can figure out how friendly they are. I do love my dog roommate though, and want to play with him and give him dog kisses every chance I get. I’m really smart too. I love food and treats and am working on patience whenever I know food is being prepared for me, which I’m getting better at it. I’m an escape artist and will patiently test any fence, crate, or barrier that keeps me from cuddling with you. In fact I would rather cuddle with you than run around in the yard or outside – as soon as I’m done doing my business I just want to go straight back in to snooze next to you on the couch. I’m fine with longer walks but it’s just to be near to you. My ideal home would be with some people that would let me hang out with them most of the day, with lots of sunlight – I love to snooze in the sun, and will wake up every hour or so to follow it across the floor. Dog brothers or sisters would be fun too, but I’d be fine being alone as well – more love for me. I really just want to be close to you as much as possible. As soon as I’m fully healthy I’m looking forward to meeting my permanent home. If you would like to donate to Lincoln's care, please go to our website at http://shopcebr.com/products/donation. Hi my name is Roxy and I’m a 64lbs cuddle bear who loves to snuggle! I will let you pet me, hug me and give me kisses for hours but you better not try and stop because I will keep asking for more! I love to eat but need to lose a couple pounds and will need your help with this. My foster mom keeps telling me “let’s go on a walk Roxy” but I’d rather stay home and take naps so I play heavy dog and have her drag me outside… Thank god there are not stairs here because I don’t do well with them! Like I mentioned my favorite activity is snoring and I love to get comfy on anything soft. I was taught that it is okay to use the restrooms inside on training pads or blankets, foster mom is working hard on this with me but I will also need your help and patience to house train me. I am a little bit of a hoarder when it comes to toys, I love them so much I steal them from my foster brother Charles and save them in my bed for later. I have a strong voice and will make sure I am heard when I am not happy (like when Charles is on MY chair, too close to foster mom or plays with the toys I want). I am finally okay with sleeping in my crate which foster mom says is a big step for me. Overall I am just a love bug looking to join a family who will have the time and patience to train me on the little things and show me how fun walks can be! I love them hoomans and cannot wait to meet you! If you would like to donate to Roxy's care, please go to our website at http://shopcebr.com/products/donation. Hi folks! My name is Scooter (foster Daddy calls me Scoot-Scoot). And yes, my name is due to the way I walk, which is more of a scoot due to my front legs. See, I was born with deformed front legs which were never fixed, and over time arthritis has set in and they are locked in position. I also have displaysia in my left hip, and my spine has some issues as well, but that doesn’t bother me one bit. When I want to go, I just scoot my way to where I want to go! Either that, or I just plop in place, roll on my side, and wait for someone to pick me up, which isn’t too hard since I only weigh 38 pounds. Most of the time I just want to snuggle in my soft, fuzzy, warm bed, or on a lap! Because of my legs, I need to be in a house with no stairs and an easy way out to do my duty (which I am very good at), or you must be willing to carry me. I make cute purring noises (foster Daddy calls them little piggy noises) when you do carry me! I am used to being an only dog and I will bark when any of my foster brothers or sisters get too close, so I would do best with someone who just wants one cute, lovable bully. I’m up to date on all my shots, and the vet also fixed my eyes and my teeth (I do better with soft dog food, thank you). As far as we know, I’m about 7 years old and my previous owner loved me to death but could no longer take care of me. All I’m looking for now is a home with lots of love for a special bully boy! Trust me, one time with me and you will fall in love forever! If you would like to donate to Scooter's care, please go to our website at http://shopcebr.com/products/donation.
