My Story Frederick is his name but he also goes by Fred. He is a black & white border collie mix, approximately 4 years old and weighs 55/60 lbs. Like most border collies, he is very high energy when he is outside because he loves to play. He can be a little rough though as he loves toys and jumps hard and that an be a little rowdy in the house but usually calms down pretty quick. He would be great in a home with another high energy dog as he would love someone to play rough with him. He isn't mean at all though. Not long ago he had an encounter with a rattlesnake. He such a sweet guy that he didn't even want to hurt the snake, he just wanted to play. Well, that got him 2 days and nights at the vet's office. He pulled through with flying colors but his tongue has a few places on it where the tissue died from the bite but that does not stop him or interfere with anything he does. Even when bitten, he was still trying to run and play with his toy blocks with his mouth and face all swollen. He is 100% better today and happy to be able to play with his blocks again. He's not all rough and tumble. He loves attention and affection and particularly likes snuggles. All in all, he is just a big teddy bear and will be a fabulous addition to any family. My Story AKC REGISTERED GERMAN SHEPARD DAM AND DAUGHTER These two gorgeous animals were surrendered to a high-kill shelter as they were from previous litters and had not been "bought". The animal control thought they were far too wonderful to let sit in a shelter and called one of our rescues to see if we could take them. They have just been in the foster home a short while but Lady Elizar does not seem to have any medical or behavioral problems that we can see. She is still a very playful girl, fine with all the other dogs, large and small but. When Umbreon barked at the cat she joined in but again, she did not try to chase it or go over to see it. (and was the same with the cows in the backfield!). If you are interested and need more cat testing we would be happy to do so Also, they have only been exposed to older children but we will be happy to test with younger children if needed. She is a very affectionate dog with people. She loves to be close to you and hug you and have some people affection. She will snick your sandwich if you leave it unattended for too long though! She is heartworm negative, up to date on all shots and is ready and waiting to meet her new family. Please write and ask us for an application on Lady Elizar. My Story Monk is Located in Winchester Tennessee. The facility's name is Animal Harbor. Monk Is believed to be a 3-year-old American Bulldog/American Pitbull Terrier Mix. Monk is neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and UTD on all shots. He has had some rough patches in life. He ended up in our local Animal Control where he spent almost 6 months. We went to pull some dogs, saw him and fell in love. He got his name because our Adoption Coordinator said his soulful look reminded her of a monk. Monk has had it rough since coming to our facility from having a severe happy tail that resulted in his tail being docked to being brought back after being starved and displaced. We have since sent him into a home where they gave up on him after a week. Simply put Monk needs someone who will be with him for the long hall. He is full of energy. He loves his food. He is a dog that would need to be fed separately from everyone else because he does resource guard. This is due to his past home hardly feeding him at all. We would love for Monk to have a huge yard and a family who will allow him to be a part of their life and not just thrown in a pen. He deserves 100 %. Monk is super dog-friendly. Small children are probably not a good idea simply because Monk does not know his size. He is a big boy and very well may knock them down by accident. Monk will need to have someone who is willing to continue training with him. We feel in order for him to succeed this is a key element.
