About Gavin

Meet Gavin! He just arrived at CARE last week. he has only been in his foster home for a few days but has already settled right in. This little guy knows he belongs in a family and we cant wait to find him the perfect one . Gavin is from a large litter of 9 puppies, we dont know much about his past because he was left at the shelter in a plastic tub without any parents (look through his pictures to see the one we took when he was getting dropped at the shelter). We were told his mom was a Chihuahua blend but are unsure of the father, because of his current size we think Gavin will be medium size when he is full grown. If you think Gavin is meant to be part of your family and you are interested in learning more and speaking with his adoption coordinator and foster mom to learn more about him please fill out an application at www.caretx.org/adopt. This dog was rescued from a kill shelter or the streets and has been evaluated for medical and temperament to prepare for a forever home and is in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas* and is ready to fly to its final destination once adopted. The adoption fee of $850 covers spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, health certificate, and air transport. Please email Emily at adoptions@caretx.org if you have any question. * CARE rescue is in San Antonio, TX where we have a serious pet overpopulation situation. CARE is a non profit 501c3 rescue that has been saving lives for over 9 years and with your adoption, we can help save even more deserving urgent adoptable pets! We fly our pets to approved adopters all over the US, especially in low kill and no kill markets where there is a demand for rescue pets!

Meet Penny and Chester, this sweet bonded pair found found themselves in the shelter after their owner passed away. CARE was able to pull them from the shelter and place them in a foster home together, we believe they have been together their whole lives. They are around 10 years old so splitting them up would be heartbreaking. Their foster tells us that they are both very sweet and do good with other dogs and cats. They are both low to no shed. They are hoping to find a patient adopter with a heart big enough to love them both in their golden years! If you would like to find out more about Penny and Chester and speak with their foster family please fill out an application at www.caretx.org/adopt and CARE will be in contact with you soon! Meet Chevy! This little guy came to CARE from a rural shelter in a place called Goliad, TX. He is a quiet well behaved 6 month old little pup who is very happy about having a future with a loving forever family! We arent quite sure of Chevy's breed mix but we think he may have some Dachshund in the mix because of his long body and short legs. Since coming to us Chevy has been in a forever home with his brother Rocket and a few playmates and he is settling in very well with family life. Out of both brothers Chevy is the most outgoing one. He loves getting human attention and cuddles. If you think you may be the perfect forever family for Chevy please contact us! He is hoping to find a home with a patient adopted who will let him decompress from all the changes in his life. His foster mom thinks that he would do best in a home that has another calm dog to keep him company! She describes him as quiet and low key, he is doing well with his crate training but potty training is still a work in progress. This playful, fun loving pup is about as happy as they come. He loves exploring the world aka the yard at his foster's home. Meet Keelan, this 2 year old Min Pin/Chihuahua blend is the perfect lap dog size at 11lbs. He is a happy dog who is ready to enjoy his life out of the shelter. His foster mom tells us that while he does okay with other dogs he really just prefers people over dogs. He would do just fine in a home where he is the only dog getting all the attention! He is the perfect companion dog and just needs to find the right fit for a family. Keelan has shown some skill in jumping fences so he will need a home with a tall fence.
