About Princess

Hi, I’m Princess and my story begins about a month ago, when P4P received a call pleading for my life. I was abused and not socialized before being dumped at the vet to be euthanized. Fortunately for me, some wonderful people decided I deserved a second chance and started making calls. P4P saved my life and they are doing all they can to find a foster or forever home, but so far they have not been successful. I know I don’t make it easy for them, but I’m just a young puppy who doesn’t know better and was never given an opportunity. Due to my past, I can be shy and anxious at times and I only trust nice calm dogs. Also, some people scare me, especially men, but once I get to know them, I’m ok. If you know anyone that can help me become the great dog I’m destined to be, please let them know about me because I’m desperately looking for them. PS: I’m 8 months old, I love to run, play and jump! I’m a great jogging and hiking partner, but you do have to remind me that I will be ok if rowdy dogs or strangers come near me. Princess is temporarily staying with P4P volunteers because they are worried putting her in boarding will destroy all the positive progress she has made and intensify her distrust and lack of confidence. However, if she can’t find a place for her soon, we won’t have any other options, but to send her back to boarding. So please, we urge you to share her, so she can find the great family she deserves! If you are interested in our sweet Princess please complete our adoption application located on our website under "adorable adoptables". Thank you, The Passion for Pitties Family

**ADOPTER NEEDED ASAP** This little cutie pie is 3-year-old Bella. She was brought into the San Diego Humane Society on 1/2/2020 for emergency boarding and was absolutely terrified and distrusting of shelter staff. Within a couple of days, though, Bella warmed up and started happily greeting her new friends at the front of her kennel with her favorite raccoon toy, waiting for pets and love. During her dog-to-dog intros, she’s done very well, caring more about her handler than the other dogs, after a bit of excitement during the initial greeting. Since arriving at her foster home, Bella has turned into a happy-go-lucky dog. She is an adult dog that has the spirit of a puppy without the mess! Loves belly rubs and to be next to you. She takes a little bit of time to warm up, but once she does its kisses and love all day! She plays fetch and loves other animals and will shake with joy to play with them. This can be a little intimidating for her foster cat siblings, but Bella has shown only love. Bella knows sit, stay and come, so far. She is also learning to be crate trained, but prefers much more to sit with you on the couch and eat snacks. Bella tends to resource guard when she has too many plushie toys around her, but has no issues at all with just one or two. The staff at the Humane Society thinks she had puppies shortly before arriving to the shelter and that she may be guarding small toys seeing them as her babies. Please help us get sweet Bella into a safe, loving forever home! If that home isn’t with you, you can still help her by liking, commenting, sharing, and pledging (just comment “pledge” and the amount you’re committed to donating once we find a home for her)…every little bit helps! If you’d like to adopt Bella, please fill out an application at www.passionforpitties.com under the “Adorable Adoptables” heading. show less

Meet our darling Dolly!! We fell in love with this girl years ago before Passion for Pitties even existed. One of the rescue members used to volunteer at the shelter where Dolly was dumped years ago at her young age of 5 back then. We had found her a loving home and then we received a call from the adopters son advising us that Dolly was not being treated well. He informed us she was being dumped at his grandmother's and they were tying Dolly up on a short lead and leaving her in a tiny yard by herself. There was no way we were going to let that happen to this sweet girl. Needless to say, we found a loving foster home and Dolly is now again living the life of luxury along with 3 dogs and 1 cat :-). Dolly is a precious 11 year old and deserves all the rest of her days living care free and loved. She is wonderful with ALL people, big and small. Dolly is amazing with ALL dogs and loves puppies and she's even wonderful with kittens and cats. This girl has NO prey drive. She's a lap down, coach potato and would love nothing more then to explore with you. She used to live on a farm and would run around with all the animals with no worries. Dolly's right eye does not make tears, so she is on an ointment and needs "no tears" eye drops daily. She does has incontinence from time to time. Dolly does have a heart murmur but it is not severe at this time. This sweet girl is also partially deaf. Dolly is the perfect dog all around. If you are interested in our darling Dolly please complete our adoption agreement located on our website under "adorable adoptables'". Thank you, The Passion for Pitties Family show less

Hi! My name is Duke! • I’m approximately 5 years old. • Weigh in at a trim 57 lbs. • Handsome fellow with a beautiful smile just for you! • Love being AFFECTIONATE and around people, though prefer females. Hey, I’m a boy.  • Also adore children and match their energy well. I can be pretty enthusiastic, so please remind me not to jump up on you. • Very athletic, so I would do well in a house with a yard where I can run and play ball. • Love to play with other dogs. However, would do best with a dog of my own size. No cats please! • Potty trained as well. Like all dogs, just need to be let out regularly and learn your schedule. I was rescued from the shelter as a stray, so I can be shy at first and need some time to warm up to people, especially males. However, with the right leadership and guidance, I can learn to be the confident dog I was born to be. Will you be that leader for me? I am a sweetheart who really wants a family to help me become the best dog ever. Unfortunately, I just didn't get the opportunity to learn early on, but with my intelligence, personality, and training, I will be a wonderful companion, and the most loyal dog ever! Please help make my forever family wish come true. I really am such a good boy! Meet our handsome boy Eddie "Vedder"!! Here's a special one for a special family :-) We rescued Eddie from the Humane Society in Monroe, LA so they would have room to rescue some of the Harvey Hurricane dogs in desperate need. We are part of the San Diego Rescue Coalition, so several rescues all jumped on board and we took 144 dogs in need! They all road to San Diego on large rescue buses. Eddie is a professional cuddler so if you are someone looking for a snuggling dog you just might want to consider our boy here! All this sweet boy wants is to lay by your side and get all the love you are able to give he is such a love bug! He would be good as an only dog in a loving family and good with children that are a little older just because he's a big boy and needs stable legs but he's great with all people big and small :-). Eddie good with other dogs, we do prefer him to be in a home with one mellow dog or as an only dog. No head strong dogs for our Eddie please, he needs chill. Eddie says no cats or bunnies pretty please ;-) We do prefer Eddie to be in a home as an only dog since he does prefer people to other animals overall. The family that adopts him will be one lucky family and in your own way you would be a family that has helped save at least 1 Harvey Hurricane dog in need and that's a BIG deal :-) If you are interested in our Eddie please complete our adoption application located on our website under "adorable adoptables" www.passionforpitties.com show less

Hi! My name is Gracie! • I’m approximately 9 years old. • Weigh in at a trim 60 lbs. • Pretty lady with a beautiful smile just for you! • LOVE my humans and am happy to snuggle on the couch and be lazy when inside. • Playing in the backyard is so much fun and I get the ZOOMIES when you first let me out. • One of my nicknames is “Miss Piggy” because I snort when I smell the ground.  • Really love going for car rides and will rest my head on your shoulder the whole ride! • Also adore children, but would be a better match if they are older. • Love to play with other dogs. However, I need to be the only dog in the home. I’m a diva! • When asked to sit, I will slide my front legs all the way out until I am flat on the ground. Isn’t that super cute?! I am a senior special needs dog with a neurological condition which causes me to have diminished feelings in my front legs. However, I am still as happy as can be and can walk, run and jump. While I have a wonderful human family that loves me so much, I also have 3 brothers and 1 sister doggie siblings. My doggie siblings and I are just not getting along like we used to, so my humans have made the heartbreaking decision that I would thrive again once I’m in a new home. I am a sweetheart that would love to have a family that has a warm place in their hearts for me so that I can live out my days with love and comfort to be my goofy happy self. Please help make my forever family wish come true. I really am such a good girl and will be the most loyal dog ever! Hello my name is Hunny girl because I'm sweet as Honey ;-)!! I'm a wiser lady, with some extra love on me (ok so I need to loose a few pounds don't we all ;-)). My foster mom and her son stepped up to take care of me so Passion for Pitties could rescue me from the shelter. It was cold, scary and had really hard floors I don't know why I was left there but I'm happy too be in a warm home filled with love. I wasn't able to exercise as much as i needed, they rarely took me out of my kennel so i am a bit out of shape, but don't be mistaken. I'm a trooper!!. I love my walks in the park and I'll keep up with you don't you worry. My favorite thing is my people both big and little. I spend my day sunning myself out in the yard, and coming in and checking on my little person and his mom. I sometimes nap with the little dogs in the house and I also like my naps while foster mom fusses in the kitchen. I love to watch kids play in the park, it makes my tail wag :-) Walks are the best, mom says I'm great on a leash, nothing phases me as I love my walks, and i stay close to my humans and I love car rides!! Make sure you keep an eye out for me as i will push myself exhausted don't let me over do it. Cats are not my favorite, so no felines please. I'm great in the kennel, but would love to be by your bedside at night. If you're home I'd much rather be by your side and with the doggies. I love to be pet, and within arms reach of you. If you're searching for a love bug like me within arms reach....look no further I'm your GIRL!! If you're interested in our Hunny Girl please go to our website under "adorable adoptables" and complete our adoption application. www.passionforpitties.com All Passion for Pitties dogs are altered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Hi my name Is Jolene. I'm a 4 year old beautiful redhead :) And don't tell anyone (it's a girl thing) but I weigh 65 lbs. Up until November 7th of this year I had no idea what love was . I will always remember that day because I brought 10 puppies into this world and I met my Foster dads. When they picked me and my babies up my whole world changed. I finally got to see my first glimpse of love . I had know idea what a hug was or what even being caressed felt like. At first I thought why are these guys showering me hugs and love, it felt so foreign. I thought I liked it and really......didn't want them to stop. Finally after about 2 weeks something strange happened. When my dads would hug me my tail would start to move, it felt right but it was a little strange. As the days went by I started feeling more and more secure with my dad's and my surroundings. My dads are teaching me how to walk on this crazy thing they call a leash. I don't really know what it is but it seems to be OK. They say they are proud if me for not pulling them around and they keep telling me I'm doing good and they keep giving me these things called cookies. 2 days ago when dad asked me to sit and I did, I thought he was going to go crazy. He kept hugging me and kissing on me .... wow, I like this. I know now how to get cookies and hugs :) I follow my Dad's around the yard and finally get to feel what it's like to be part of family. I love humans now. Also I have to tell you sleeping in a warm bed sure feels nice. I never really had that before so I'm so thankful my dad's make this possible for me. However… they put me in this crazy thing called a crate. At 1st I hated it really hated it I even tried to eat my way out of it. But they kept reassuring me it was a nice safe place, and it's starting to grow on me slowly. I had my Foster Dad's send a letter to Santa Claus for me. All I want for Christmas is to know I'm getting my very own family. I want a family that can be patient with me and continue teaching all the cool stuff this world has to offer. I need to be the only Dog because I have so much to learn and so much love to share. I promise if you give me a chance, I'll make you proud to call me your girl. Sweet Jolene If you are interested in our lovely red furred gal :-) please go to our website under "adorable adoptables" and complete our adoption application to begin our process. www.passionforpitties.com Thank you in advance for your interest in our Jolene. Please meet Pinky. She’s about a year and a half old and 65lbs of pure kindness. She loves to meet new people and her submissive nature bodes well with other dogs. Her hair is dark chocolate brown which is contrasted with her white paws, white tail tip and beautiful face and belly markings. Speaking of belly she loves belly rubs and all types of affection. She likes to be close to her human and loves cuddle time and sleeping in. Her snoring will let you know when she’s in a deep sleep. She enjoys being with other dogs and will ideally find a home with siblings of similar size and energy level. Her medium intensity play style with other dogs generally lasts about 20 minutes and is typically followed by an hour or two nap. Pinky is potty trained and knows some basic commands. She is eager to please her family. She is not much of a barker and really not much of a guard dog. She’ll be the first to greet the mailperson and anyone else she encounters. She is content with chew toys and seems to know what should be chewed on and what shouldn’t be. She is excited to go on walks and will pull a bit on the leash. She is open to more leash training and wants to please her person with good behavior. She also does really well on car rides and enjoys going to new places. Interested in our Pinky?! We don't blame you ;-) Please go to our website under "adorable adoptables" to complete our adoption application to begin the process. Thank you, Passion for Pitties family show less
