One word best describes our Angella. SWEET. If you need another word to describe her, it would be SWEETEST. This angelic young cat arrived at CCR from a downstate pound, with her four babies in tow. Angella was a stellar mom, whose gentle disposition was evident from the start. She would be a wonderful family cat for a household with respectful children. Angellas kittens have all been adopted and this momma is ready for her forever. Though we generally prefer to adopt in pairs, we think Angella will be happiest as a solo cat. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt Angella contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone. Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home. CCR adopts to homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs. We do not ship cats or kittens. No exceptions. Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you! show less

Maybe he's so joyful now because he knows what it means to be homeless. Maybe he simply came into this world with a stellar temperament. All we know is that, ever since we pulled him from our local animal control, our sweet Barisic is one happy cat! Barisic is gentle, good natured, and easy going. He lives in a foster home with a school age child, so we can guarantee that Barisic will be your perfect family pet. He'll wait patiently as you drink your first cup of morning coffee, and greet you at the door after a long day. Yours, not his! We suspect he'd even tolerate wearing antlers for your annual holiday card! Barisic is positive for both FeLV and FIV. That's the risk we humans impose on cats who are allowed outdoors, or worse, who are abandoned outside altogether. But Barisic is grateful for the life he has now, and we're confident that he plans to enjoy it as long as possible! We don't know what the future holds for Barisic. Cats who are FeLV positive can remain asymptomatic for many years. What we do know is that giving a home to a cat like Barisic will earn you a place in this wonderful cat's heart. And that's a gift that you'll cherish forever. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. Buster, a young, sweet and photogenic boy! Buster is bonded with his brother (from another mother) Mica. They are two peas in a pod, the perfect companions, they spend their days grooming each other and watching traffic wiz by out the window. Buster makes the perfect furry headrest and can often be found sitting on the couch cushion behind his foster moms head. A quiet guy, Buster does have a cute little Meow he lets out every once in a while to say thank you. Buster is reported to have the softest fur ever, now is your chance to test this out for yourself! Buster and Mica are ready to meet you! Cassia has a best friend, Dulcie, thick as thieves they are! Both girls were rescued by CCR from shelters in southern Illinois, and in desperate need of love, Cassia had large mats in her fur. They both bounced back fast and realized they were meant to be family. Cassia, the older sister by one year, is a little more mature and knows right from wrong. Cassia is affectionate, she loves to cuddle up with you and roll on her back for belly rubs. She requires to play 'blanket monster' on the bed with your feet, at least once daily. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt Cassia and her friend Dulcie, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. Chantilly is the sweet girl you've been waiting for! This playful girl loves hiding in boxes, being up high to scope out her surroundings and bringing her human 'prey' to their feet as a gesture of love. She is trusting and loving, making her self at home in her foster home in 15 minutes, ready to take a nap by her foster dad's head. Chantilly is a classic beauty with her long fluffy tabby coat. Foster mom reports she loves human contact and would probably do very well with children, though she is looking to be a solo kitty so she can be the center of attention. We would like to place her in a home where at least someone in the house is home most of the day, she will not do well in a home where her parents work outside the home for 8-10 hours a day. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt Chantilly, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. Charlie and his kin Honey (we aren't sure if she is his mom or sister) were rescued after months alone, their owner went in to assisted living. We are thankful for the neighbor who helped to feed them and alerted us of their case. Understandably, Charlie is a bit timid of noises and will need some time to warm up to his new home; but his foster mom reports he is a love bug and loves to sleep next to her. He loves to play, as well as purr and headbutt to show his affection. They are both good with other cats. Charlie and Honey will make a great addition to a quiet home, they are a boded pair and will be adopted together. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt Charlie and Honey, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well being of the cats and kittens in our care. If you are looking for the perfect cat, then your search is over! Colby is such an outgoing guy! So social and sweet! He is the perfect couch and bed buddy! Honey and her kin Charlie (we aren't sure if he is her son or brother) were rescued after months alone, their owner went in to assisted living. We are thankful for the neighbor who helped to feed them and alerted us of their case. Honey is a dilute tortie, and follows the tortie stereotype of being a bit sassy. She is not a lap cat, but loves to sleep next to her foster mom. They are both good with other cats. Honey is very playful and trainable, her foster mom has taught her to highfive and waving bye bye is in the process! Both cats mind their own business, but Honey does love attention and she will reach out and tell you when she is in need. Charlie and Honey will make a great addition to a quiet home, they are a boded pair and will be adopted together. Hunter is being adopted with his mother Nova, they are affectionate towards one another and like wrestling. The cat, the myth, the legend—meet Ichabod. And let us tell you, he’s got a whoooole lot of bod. Big in size and personality, this adult male is hot stuff and he knows it. Don’t let his suave exterior fool you… You just might wake up to him snuggling up to you in the night. Or walk into the bathroom to find him taking a nap in the sink even though he doesn’t quite fit. Ichabod enjoys being in the same room as his foster mom and will even rotate to make sure he can see her at all times. He also makes a great secretary by sitting on her desk while she works! He is obsessed with his fishing rod-style cat toy. He will leap at the sight of it and immediate reports for duty whenever he hears its jingle. Ichabod LOVES a good brushing, pets, and looking out the window. We think Ichabod would do well with another friendly, easy going cat. As a young male, we would like to place Ichabod with a male cat of similar age who is cat friendly. We will not place him in a home where he will be a single cat. Meet Parker, a sweetheart of a cat! This young girl was rescued by a Chicago cop, who couldn't ignore the hungry little cat that kept making appearances at an abandoned house on the officer's beat. Parker is full of energy and personality! She loves her feline foster brother, and insists that he shares his bed with her. Parker is tolerant of her canine housemate, although we can't say that they are truly friends. And of course, Parker loves her foster mom too. Playful, funny, loving and sassy - that's our Parker! We plan to place Parker in a home with at least one other like minded, feline-loving kitty. If you would like to meet and possibly adopt this amazing feline, contact Cindy: (773)203-0215, or email: cindy@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
