About Jazmine

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.Meet Jazzy and Jazmine! This mom and daughter duo are the cutest little things. Found in the streets of Tijuana, this poor mama cat only had one surviving kitten who was approx 6 weeks old when rescued in January. They were rescued and had ringworm and parasites. After treatments and being caught up on medical, they are now ready for adoption. Mom seems to be a little protective of her baby so we separated them and mama Jazmine will be going to our cat adoption center at the PetSmart in Clairemont sometime in February while her daughter, Jazzy, stays in her foster home in Carmel Valley. To meet one or both of these girls, please submit an applicaiton online at arwob.org Jazmine would likely do best with her daughter or as a single cat. She is currently in a foster with adult cats and dogs and she is a little 'spit fire'; She is ready to rock and roll, but quickly fizzles out when you tell her to not start anything. She then starts to play on her own like a complete kitten, you should see this girl play! Its the cutest, funniest and most rewarding treat seeing how this young adult cat (who could be a little younger than the estimated age because she is missing some front teeth) and just had a rough life surviving the streets, probalby having litter after litter. She is goofy, silly and too cute to see hopping around like Manx kitties do. She is a total lap cat and purr monkey although she can also have her isoalted and independent times. Very clean girl who uses her box without a single accident.Jazzy's foster mom says; She is a spunky littly bunny that bounces and pounces playfully chasing balls and ball toys are her favorite!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.Meet Barbi! This poor mama was rescued along with her kittens who ended up having to be bottle fed because mama herself was pretty weak and debilitated. She is much better now, but we need a foster ASAP for her to be away from her babies so she stops producing milk knowing her babies are around her. The kits are approximately 6 weeks: bottle fed, but also eating food on their own. They won't be available for adoption until the end of April, but for now we need a couple weeks for mom to recover and stop producing milk so she can be spayed and adopted. For now, we are looking for a foster or foster adopt family for her. If interested in either, please submit the adoption application on line and let us know if you'd like to foster until she is ready for adoption!    barbi love humans and likely would do well with children. this girl is big and tall but svelt, a gorgeous girl! she is very loving with people and has done well with cats she meets around home, stays clear of dogs paths in the home but doubt she will becokebest of friends with either dogs or cats. Maybe once her mama 'instincts' aren't so strong   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.Bear is such a wonderful cat! He needed rescue help when we were made aware of his situation having lived for a whole year in a veterinary hospital in a kennel at a vet hospital in Ensenada. We can't understand why the staff didn't seek help with this wonderful cat much, much sooner and allowed him to live a depressing life. Sadly, he wasn't the only cat. We also took Teaberry with the same story and the same situation at the time we exited Bear.Since he lived most of this time in a kennel secluded from cats and dogs, we had no idea what we were going to encounter behavior wise and to our surprise and excitement this little guy is just AMAZING!He was chirping and saying hi to ALL the cats at Casa de ARWOB from Alonzo, Handsome, Sophie, Wiki, etc etc from adults to kittens, and females and males with different personalities. He just walks by them and says 'Hola!'He is not playing or grooming other cats, but he mingles and hangs around them. He has zero problems with dogs and is excellent with litter box usage. He looks like a big boy and he was VERY stocky when he arrived, but all the walking around seems to be helping him and although he is full grown he doesn't look so big anymore. If you are looking for an easy going, chilled easy to get along with kitty, then you have found your boy!He could be the only cat in the home or share his home with other animals at home  Submit an application today @arwob.org to schedule a meet and greet in the 92117 area.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.Meet Vanilla, Ben and Jerry!Note from his foster on 3/31/2020:'I wouldn’t say hypoallergenic but he hardy sheds. I have some sensitivities to pet dander and it hasn’t been bad with him. If someone has a legit allergy then he’s likely not a good fit. If it’s more of a sensitivity then he’d be fine. ' UPDATE 3/26/2020 Ben is an adorable low-riding small breed with a twisty tail and the most expressive ears!  He is all puppy so will need patient adopter who is prepared to do potty training, basic training and socialization with other dogs and people. He's been doing great in his crate and sleeps through the night with minimal noises. He does shed, but not a lot - would benefit from weekly brushing. Ben would do best in a home with another dog or kids over the age of 8 to keep up with his playful personality and establish boundaries for him.    Ben is my name, and playtime is my game!  Home life is pretty great; there are toys to play with, comfy places to snooze, and lots of snacks. I love following my foster brother around, taunting him, and sneaking his toys away. My foster dad has been teaching me some new tricks, such as how to walk with a leash, sitting and waiting. He thinks I'd really enjoy training classes as I am very eager to learn, especially when treats are involved! My foster mom says I'm a busy-body because I can hardly sit still- there is just so much to explore!   My foster family is still learning things about me, but what they do know so far is that I love playing with squeaky toys, treats, walks and playing fetch. I've also discovered some stuff about myself, such as I do not like celery or rain, and that I am a big fan of sunshine and getting dirty. Though my foster family is great, I would love a forever family with another dog or some older kids for me to play and grow with. I'll need someone who can be patient with me, teach me, and laugh at my silly puppy personality!       What breed are these guys? who knows! They are baja blend adorable mutts! Ben - must be a small terrier/poodleJerry- long legged, extremely curly coat and medium size teen who could be said to be a medium labradoodle type or standard poodle BUT MUCH SMALLER expected to be in the mid 30 pounds when full grown. Vanilla - likely a poodle/terrier mix that looks much more like a medium scruffy terrier at approx 35 lbs already full grown. All these 3 friends were rescued from a home in Tijuana when their owner moved out of the city and neighbors reported dogs left in the patio for weeks. An indie rescuer took them from yard and quarantined them for us while we vaccinated and made arrangements to transport to SD. They have never been inside dogs or have had a normal leash/outings life but currently are boarding and have learned to walk on leash and are HUGE socialites towards people and other dogs, The boys are cat frienly and Vanilla could be fine, but also has shown some interest, she could be ok with cats as long as supervised to be corrected. They sleep well in the crate BUT they (especially Ben, followed by Vanilla and sometimes Jerry) can be a bit vocal/whinny like most terriers and small breeds so a home vs apartment life may be best as well as someone who is home often with short stints outside of the home or have time/experience to help train and adjust them into a schedule at home to learn how to be home alone in their crate during day not just at night. NOT house trained and the boys are still young teens so we anticiapted still chewing stages since they love to play with toys and other dogs. If you'd like to adopt or foster please submit a dog adoption application online @arwob.org to schedule a meet and greet in the 92117 area READY FOR ADOPTION AS SOON AS FRIDAY 3/13 ALL up to date on medical and healthy. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.UPDATE 4/3/2020 from his new foster family who lives in downtown little italy ei he is used to apartment  living (but used to be fostered with several dogs and cats in a home at ARWOB headquarters) '......Beto is a VERY good boy! He’s good on leash, is mostly potty trained, comfortable in his cage (no whining) as he goes in without hesitation. He is very well-behaved around other dogs and just wants to play with them! Also he’s a major cuddle bug! He will walk over to you and melt into you asking for cuddles and loves to lay his head on your chest and lap.   His favorite thing to do is play fetch. If we are busy, he will often toss his tennis ball around by himself.  He does seem to instantly be comfortable around women but will warm up to men.  He sometimes will get startled easily by loud noises but seems to get to used to them quickly (TV and Air conditioning for example).  Overall he is a VERY happy and cuddly....' _________________________________________Beto is a very handsome shep/lab mix currently 40lbs and approx 7-8mo he is  not very tall but pretty heavy boy who will likely grow to be in the 50-60lb range when full grown, Beto was rescued in the Ensenada, Mexico area.Like all large breed pups he is very sweet, goofy and outgoing. He will need an adopter who has time to excercise, socialize with dogs and people and sign up for dog training immediately to make sure he is well trained and socialized during his transition into a new home. He is learning to be crate trained and can be vocal the first few minutes, slowly adjusting to it and resting through the night in crate. Like all pup is not house traiend or potty trained. He is great with dogs and people and silly around cats.  Beto will be available to meet forever homes and go home starting friday 2/28 in the 92117 area code and we can only schedule meet and greets with adoption applications submitted online on our wesbite @arwob.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.Meet Mandy and 'the Toms'!In February,  we received a plea to help a pregnant cat who was begging for food from people walking by the street in Tijuana. There were also two young Toms hanging around with her for a few days. The good sam thought perhaps they were a previous litter of hers and we mentioned we would take the trio into the group.  Mandy and big Tom were easy to grab and place in carrier but little Tom was a bit shy and hesitant with people. The people who rescued and transported them to San Diego to be received by ARWOB,  said nothing about them and when we received them we realized we actually may have 2 toms who are feral and they would need to be sterilized and released. However, we knew to give them time to make sure it wasn't just the stress of the change. We sterilized the 3 kitties and had them in foster. We realized Big Tom has his smart streets of seeking human attention the minute he hears food, and, like all strays,  they survive by being friendly, sweet and flirty. Mandy and little Tom also have this behavior, but more subtle.  We couldn't release these 2 young boys back to the streets of Tijuana knowing Big tom would be a wonderful home kitty being loved on and playing like a kitten as he loves to play with his feather toys and enjoys being petted, but also cautious about it or through short patterns of petting.Little Tom is still shy/not as interested in people's touch, but easily approached and touched for pets. We think with someone with more time to focus on him and practice approach and petting would be great. He purrs like a maniac when being petted, but he really doesn't love to be picked up. When placed in carrier, no problem, but lap cat he is not. Big Tom, however, loves to be next to you and is a total goofy character..... Mandy, well Mandy is perfect in every way! :)The 3 were in a foster at first with several cats and dogs and they ignored them although the boys would see other cat interactions, Mandy would prefer to be the only cat or only with 'her Toms'.They would be fine with dogs, but would likely ignore them after the safe introduction.Mandy would be great with kids.Big Tom would love to play with toys and kids Little Tom would likely want nothing to do with them if they approach him.Mandy has always been a love. She loves to seek human attention, is low key. but very sweet, and now she is coming around and playing beautifully with her cat toys. Mandy chirps like a mama would and the boys come running to her for attention.Anyone interested in adopting 3 kitties? The 3 are now fostered in the same foster home as the only pets in the home and Mandy could be adopted as the only cat while the Toms would be great if adopted together. Adopters can submit an application to adopt online at arwob.org Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less

Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application. These 5 puppies are adorable siblings who were rescued from the streets of tijuana on 3/20/2020 when a couple volunteers where walking the streets and noticed all these pups running around, they offered them kibble and all were eating desperately and very friendly approached our volunteers of course picked them all up and off they went into rescue. Their mom is a dark brown small chi/terrier mix who had an owner, she wanted the pups gone as it was evident from them being on the streets not being cared for and sadly she did not approve giving us the mom for adoption but we are hopeful we can get her spayed to prevent further litters. Not sure of dad but they certainly look like chiwennies, low riders and there are 3 boys and 2 girls (one of the boys has a poodle type face)They will likely grow to be in the 15-25lb range so in the smaller breed size. They are crate trained and sleep through the night 8hrs. They love people, kids, dogs and cats :)The pups will be sterilized mid april at which time they can be adopted. For now, we are looking for a foster to adopt family they can care for them while they have their spay surgery or adopt after their spay surgery. Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.Meet Chloe!Chloe was rescued from the streets of Tijuana Mexico in February 2020 as a very thin dog who was scavanging the streets searching and roaming to find food, she was spoted by a volunteer when she noticed she was being chased off by another dog from the trash bin she was finding her food from and the volunteer picked her up from the streets and took home into rescue. After a couple of weeks of no response to social media about 'found dog' or the local are where she found its safe to say no one was looking or interested in finding this poor sweet pup/teen. She has an amazing social loving personality and can be 'wearry'/ observant at first when she is meeting new dogs or people but responds very easily to soft talk and kindness and she lights up the whole room when she starts moving those amazing latina hips!! Careful, that wagging tail can be dangerous! ha haShe was tested with cats with no issues, great with dogs but a little standoffish when she first meets a couple of them. Crate trained and does well in the car, like all med/large breeds she would be an excellent exercise partner. She looks a bit like  a retriever/ collie/pit mix with very small body frame (compare to the bully breeds so she doesn't really look like one)Would love to find a foster or adopter for this beauty and we would be happy to set up a meet and greet once an adoption application has been submited on our wepage at arwob.org and we would schedule a meet in the 92117 area. She was 7lbs the first week of march and approx 3-4months old, so we think she will be in the 15-20lb range when she is full grown and will be a small breed dog. She looks like a itty bitty mini irish terrier mix but likely a chihuahua/terrier (likely has some poodle giving her the wiredhair look) as she is adorable! Like all pups great with all and needs an adopter with time to do house training and house training, etcTrixie is fostered in san diego and is crate trained to meet her the first step is to submit the adoption application online arwob.org so we can schedule a meet and greet in the 92117 area hopefully she can find a home before Saint Pattys!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. show less
