Meet Adam TatG (made an amazing comeback from scrawny to svelte, but doesn't make a great first impression due to awkward initial shyness, he's like the Kristen Stewart of dogs) Voted Most Likely Too: I clearly win Most Photogenic doggie at all the adoption events, but I sure wish the prize was a family and not just constant applause. Likes: Dog parks, car rides, going on sniffathons, relaxing in bed, cuddles, being your shadow, other dogs, people, supervising your bathroom visits...stealing your food from the table when you turn around (pretend you did not read that last part). A goooood back scritchin and full body massage, but who doesn't? Age/Weight/Breed: I am a SILLY Billy, but my name is Adam and I am a Dogo Argentino/Pitbull mix. I only weighed 40 pounds when I was picked up from the City of San Antonio shelter, but now I am back up to a hunky chunky 85 pounds. I am somewhere between 4-5 years old. Best Skill: Doing zoomie spinny circles, it is a complicated move, but I am very goodest at it, the best really. Life Tip: When you can't find a pillow, use another dog's butt, dog butts are very soft and make great pillows. Favorite Clich: You know that ole clich, you cannot judge a book by its cover. I totally agree. To truly judge a book, you need to nibble it, chew on a few pages. When I first got outta the shelter, I was very hungry and chewing on everything, but I have stopped that nonsense, as long as you give me TOYS! Activity Level: I would thrive in a home with a yard for play time, but also a huge couch for my cat naps...er uh, dog naps in my case. I am strong on a leash, but Foster Mom says I am NOT "the worst she has experienced. Socialability: I am in a Foster Home with other dogs, but did do slow intros. I do great at public places like dog parks, but I become more protective when at home. I am shy at first with people, but if you exchange treats for my love, I will take that trade and then you get to see my goofy ball side. I have been a good boy around kids. So far the only command I know is SIT. I hope you know the command for rubs, because when I roll over to show my belly that means rub it. Big Ask: I am very happy to have my second chance at a home after being dumped and 40 pounds at the city shelter. I want to be a good big boy for you and I will be very loyal and loving. Will you adopt me? Local adoption fee $200.00 (within Texas) Out of State adoption fee $400.00 with transport out of Texas show less

Meet Anna JuM Kermit the frog says it ain't easy being green, but it's even harder being a black dog. And as if that wasn't enuff, it ain't easy being Anna either. Case in point. I'm sure y'all herd of a little ditty called Frozen right? It's a movie for human puppies, children, children is the word. There were two girl stars in that motion picture but who do all the lil human chicks wanna be for Howloween? Elsa. Elsa. Elsa. With her porcelain skin and shimmer turquoise gown. Whelp!!! What about Anna? She exists, she helped, she's brave. Notice the Annas of the world folks, you need us! I'm a lil lady dog, with a 30 pound body and I'll put every ounce of that dirty 30 into my 100 yard dashes when I black swan dive into your arms. I love hugs. Love 'em. I'm listed as part Corgi part Lab, but who knows! You don't have to be pure bread to be a silly loaf, you can be full of muttsterious ingredients and be a Wonder bread! I'm a favorite at rescue camp due to my go get 'em attitude. I willingly walk on leash and am crate trained. I have good recall and will sit for a hot dog, it's a wiggly sit but at least I'm trying to contain myself. I'm fun with other dogs. I keep up with the long legged big dogs when they gallop through the pasture, I don't let being a miniature pony throw salt on my game. Speaking of salt, let's throw some on the ice and melt away the frozen to make way for Anna banana the wonder bread dog. **Local Adoption Only Local in the State of Texas 200.00 show less

Meet Bailey DM, I am a beautiful happy go lucky Bulldog/ Boxer mix weighing in at 78 pounds of playfulness! I am also 4 years old so I still have many many years of fun and activities ahead of me! I'm a unique girl. Everyone to me is kinda meh, okay. Dogs, well I prefer the smaller dog to the bigger dog. Most of the time I don't really wanna be with the dogs. I'd prefer my human. I had an altercation with a big ol' English Mastiff so maybe that's why I'm not a fan of dogs. When someone twice your size comes at you... you back down! Same goes with cats. I don't mind their company. They hang out where they like, I leave them alone. I don't want to chase or play, we more just observe each other from afar. I love my human. If it's a big family I tend to pick one special person and stick to them like glue. Because of this if a big family wants to adopt me I suggest you all come at one time so I don't make attachments right away before getting to meet the whole gang! I do fine with kids, the kid in my Foster Home understands and respects dogs so I don't mind her but I think I'd prefer an adult only home for now. I am a very smart girl! I know a lot of commands like, SIT, NO, STAY, KENNEL UP, and BED! With more practice I am sure I can learn more fast. I love my crate, it is second best to sitting next to you on the couch and watching TV. Yes, I do actually sit down and watch the TV. I enjoy that time with my human, and who doesn't like a good afternoon show with your human next to you scratching you all over. I am potty trained, crate trained, and know commands! What's better than that. Small disclaimer... I LOVE my food. So Foster Family has to regulate how much I am fed each day. I can not be free fed because I will just eat and eat and eat... Maybe that's the reason I'm almost 80 pounds! But a simple cup and a half in the morning and a cup and a half in the afternoon gets me by for the day full and happy. I am so smart I will alert you to when I need to use the restroom. I become very playful, jump on you or simply sit by the door and give you the stare until you let me outside to do my business! There is so much more about myself I could tell you but if you are interested I suggest you apply and my Foster Family can give you a full run down on me and all my fun doggie characteristics! Basics: Female, Bulldog/ Boxer mix, 78 pounds, 4 years old, crate trained, house trained, okay with dogs, good with cats, loves her food can not be free fed, needs an experienced dog owner, knows basic commands like sit, stay, no, kennel up, adult only home show less

Meet Bailey, I am a female Basset hound mix. My foster mom believes I am half Basset hound and half German Shepard. We do not know my exact age since a nice lady's husband found me when I was a pup as a stray, but I could be anywhere between 1-2years old. I am pretty heavy and strong and haven't learned my own strength just yet. Which is probably why the small dogs don't like me too much. When I get excited I do like to jump, which my foster mom is trying to teach me not to do, but I can't help it when I'm just so happy to see you. I was an outside dog before my foster mom took me in so I haven't quite learned that it isn't okay to pee in the house, but I am learning to go on the pee pads. I'm also not use to being left alone in a crate or in my own room, so I will cry and whine because I want attention and belly rubs but after a few minutes I just give up and go to sleep. My foster parents are teaching me the command sit and how not to pull on the leash during walks. I do love my evening walks. I can't walk for too long but 10-20 minutes would be perfect for me to get my energy out. I would love it if I could go into a home with a dog my size or bigger for me to play with and a yard for me to roam around. I also love kids and I'm very interested in cats. Please consider me to be your forever pet! Basics: 1-2 year old, female, Basset hound/ Shepard mix, good with dogs, kids, cats, enjoys walks, working on basic commands SIT, learning how to walk better on a leash, working on crate and potty training Local adoption fee $200.00 (within Texas) Out of State adoption fee $400.00 with transport out of Texas show less

Meet Biggie Smalls NR Name: My name is Biggie Smalls emfursis on the biggie if you are a Chihuahua, but emfursis on the smalls if you are a Great Dane. It's all relative. Relative to my brothers and sisters, I am size huge, they are 4 lbs, I am 15 lbs. We all came out of a 10 pound Momma. Birthday: October 7th is the day the that shall forever be the commemuttration of my entry into this world. Favorite Song: Hypnotize by the Notoriruffs BIG, his nickname was also Biggie Smalls. Poppa been smooth since days of underroos. I don't know what it means, but I like it because I am also smooth. Breed: I am a "little husky according to some. But I am not a Husky breed. I am a Texas sized chonk of a Chihuahua at 15 pounds, nevertheless, my Momma is indeed a Chihuahua. I was just bigger and brighter than your average Chi, practically walking at one week old. Three Words To Describe: Adventuruffs, curious and brave. Brave except at my first adoption event, the actual biggie dogs were a little scary at first. Favorite Things: People, attention, rubs, food. People holding me and rubbing me and feeding me food. Like a Grecian god getting grapes thrown into his mouth as ladies surround him with fans made of leaves. Except switch out the grapes for pepperonis and the fans with leaves for human hands rubbing me. If that sounds cool to you, put in an application for me! Basics: Biggie Smalls NR- male, DOB 10/7/2019, 15 lbs, Chihuahua/Terrier mix, tricolor, good with dogs, good with kids, curious, adventurous, smart, loves people and attention Local adoption fee $250.00 (within Texas) Out of State adoption fee $500.00 with transport out of Texas show less

I am finally ready to be adopted, but they would like to keep me adopted nearby San Antonio, so that if there are problems with continuing my training, you will have helpers nearby. Exercise and teaching me your human words so I know exactly what to do in all types of situations will really help me feel comfy. I make a show of bravado to prove that I am the alpha dog, but if you have a keen eye for dog body language, you will see that I am really just a scared little guy. I need a confident owner that can make me feel secure and perhaps another laid back tolerant stable dog that can show me the ropes. I am a lanky guy, a Whippet/lab mix, about 3.5 yrs old, smart smart, so I will need YOU to keep me happy and occupied. In return I offer you the only thing I one, my loyalty. You cannot stick a fork in me or throw me against a wall like a piece of spaghetti to see if I am done. I am a work in progress and might not ever be completely done on my training, so if you like projects, I am a project type dog...Why? Whelp, I was adopted as a baby puppy and then later returned. The rescue ladies are not sure what happened in the in between time, but I came back a litteral train wreck and did not want to interact with humans or dogs. The God's Dogs Rescue volunteers knew it wasn't my fault that I had anxiety so they have been working on my social skills for the past few months. I have made leaps and bounds; soooooo farrrrr from where I started on day one. I was full of angst like a High School rom com, but now I am only full of hotdogs and the occasional bout of anxiousness. I have learned that not all humans and dogs are out to get me and, in fact, some even have very good things in their pockets for me to eat. If you want to have a real deal rescue experience, I am a great choice. GOD'S DOGS Rescue, in San Antonio TX, does not have a shelter - ALL of our dogs are raised in foster homes in the San Antonio area. Each dog comes spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations that are appropriate for their age, microchipped, heartworm tested and on current on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE OF $200.00 FOR LOCAL DOGS AND $250.00 FOR PUPPIES. ( Local is in the state of Texas)! Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. IF THIS IS AN OUT OF STATE ADOPTION, TRANSPORT TO YOU is included in the adoption fee of $400.00 for adult dogs and $500.00 for puppies. We transport all over the country!! show less
