About Margie

Merry Margie! This happy girl is an eight-year-old pit bull, very brave, and very loyal. She would love the perfect forever family to live out the rest of her years, but for now she's thriving in a loving foster home. Margie is housetrained, good on a leash, and good with other dogs. She used to be solely an outside dog but is loving her new indoor lifestyle! She is a snuggly girl who loves being wherever her people are, and she loves being around other dogs! She makes friends very easily. She is also very smart and learns quickly. Her foster mom's favorite thing about her is her soft coat and sweet tail. As for an ideal home, Margie would do well in a moderately active home. She'd be fine by herself or with another dog, just no cats! She prefers just humans and other pups. Margie deserves the perfect forever home. Could that be with you? Apply to adopt Margie today! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. The standard minimum donation for dogs over six months to seven years is $200, puppies under six months is $250, dogs eight years and over are $100 unless specified otherwise. Hi, I'm Bailey... AKA Freckles! I'm a 60lb lab mix who was rescued from the mean streets of Dallas. I couldn't have been more excited when I left the shelter... no really, my foster mom and dad said they've never seen a tail wag harder! They didn't know this at the time but I LOVE to wag my tail. If you look at me, I wag it. If you say my name, I wag it. If you smile at me, I wag it. If I had to guess, my doggo love language would be tail wagging. Anyways, enough about my tail and more about the rest of me. Not to brag or anything, but I'm extremely adorable... I'd say my best physical features are my freckled ears (hence the nickname) and golden eyes. But if we're being less shallow, I'd say that my contagious smile, playfulness, and my eager to please attitude are my best features. Oh, I should throw potty trained in there, too. While we're on the topic of what I'm good at... I'll go ahead and tell you that I even know some commands... but the problem is, I just get so excited that sometimes it takes me a second to stop wiggling my bottom to actually sit! How can you blame me when there's a treat in my face!? Speaking of treats... I. Love. Bones. They are my FAVORITE. I could chew on those babies for hours. When I'm not chewing on bones or loving on you, I really enjoy going on walks and runs to get all my energy out! I may be at the wise ol' age of four years old but I still have a little bit of that puppy energy left in me. So if you like to do that.. or even like to just play fetch (yes, I'm good at that also) then you'll love having me around! After playing, I like to take nice little naps... whether it be in my comfy kennel or plopped down on the floor. I don't discriminate on napping locations. When I'm napping I'm usually dreaming of my furever home. It usually includes a yard for me to roam or play fetch in, no other pets (I'm what you humans would describe as a "people person"), and an owner that's ready for a new best friend. I've never really been around kids but I LOVE humans so I don't think a tiny human would be any different. Now I like to picture myself as an honest dog so I'm going to be upfront with you about being heartworm positive. I'm starting on my medications and will be better than ever when I'm done! The great news is that everyone says it's not a big deal, I can still be adopted, AND that Dallas Pets Alive will pay for the treatment! How amazing, right!? If you're interested in making my dreams come true... all you've got to do is file an application and speak to a Dallas Pets Alive adoption counselor! Can't wait to meet you and give you one of my famous hugs! This pet is available for pre-adoption and may not be officially ready for adoption, as it is still undergoing medical treatment. Depending on the medical status, a Meet and Greet may be put on hold until they can safely participate in a meeting with potential adopters. In some cases, this pet may be able to move to its forever home while it is still under the medical care of Dallas Pets Alive. If you are interested in learning more, apply now and one of our Adoption Counselors will discuss the options available so you can bring home your new furry family member! Applications are processed in the order in which they are received; please be aware that this pet may have interested applicants ahead of you. Do your beastly days of summer need a beauty to make them sweeter? Dallas Pets Alive has someone sweet and kind who's looking for much more than this provincial life. Meet BELL! Bell is a beautiful black lab mix who, at four years old, is already potty trained and ready for her forever castle. Bell is the perfect social distancing companion--she's content to curl up at your side when you're inside, but she's always game for an outdoor adventure. Much like her human namesake, this princess isn't crazy about being cooped up in the crate; she'd rather be allowed to roam the castle and explore. She has impeccable manners, though, and her soulful brown eyes indicate a wisdom far beyond her four years. Her spotted paws and her soft ears make Bell the ideal snuggler, and she's extremely affectionate with her humans. Whether you're going for a run or ready to Netflix and chill, Bell is the beauty you need by your side. She does get a bit anxious in the car, but with lots of love and patience, you'll be able to see something there that wasn't there before--a sense of security for this beautiful girl. The love between human and dog is a tale as old as time. Write your love story today; apply to adopt the very special BELL! All Dallas Pets Alive adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon adoption. An A+ student in the classroom and a thoughtful Netflix partner, BODHI is looking for someone to give him a new life. This sweet pup's name means "awakening" or "enlightenment," and nothing could describe his incredible personality better. BODHI is a 6-year-old yellow lab mix with the love of a puppy and the maturity of an adult dog. Potty trained and crate trained, Bodhi actually enjoys relaxing in his crate during the day! Although Bodhi loves a good, long stroll around the neighborhood to discover new sights and smells, he's also perfectly content to curl up next to you on the couch and stare at the TV with his big, brown, soulful eyes. Bodhi does well with fellow dogs, but could be just as happy in a home where he's the sole canine. He enjoys a good bone on a lazy afternoon, but he's not wild about stuffed or squeaky toys. And, while Bodhi will play with other dogs, he also reaches a point where he's ready to relax on his back with all four paws in the air. This loving lab mix is the perfect combination of affectionate and independent, curious and content. He's happy to explore and happy to chill, pleased to discover and adventure and glad to come home. If your home has space for an enlightened canine, do your family or yourself a favor and apply to adopt the amazing BODHI today! This pet is available for pre-adoption and may not be officially ready for adoption, as it is still undergoing medical treatment.
