About Guero

Guero A218743 Guero is a 1.5 year old spayed male who came into the shelter on 8/24 as an owner surrender. Handling 8/30: Handling: This Guero’s second time at the shelter this summer. He came in as a stray and was returned to his owner in July; that same owner brought him back because of “landlord issues”. Well, Guero is just as handsome and silly as ever - but understandably a little confused as to why he’s back. Guero is easy to leash up but definitely pulls a bit once outside. He allows for handling all over and takes treats nicely. Look at that face! He’s such a looker, he makes you just want to smush his little compact body. Per his owner, Guero lived with other dogs - but here at the shelter Guero has been very dog reactive. It’s something we will contribute to work on, but for now Guero should be the only animal in a home. But look at that smile?! What else could you need?

Sheila A219639 Shelia is a 10 year old spayed female who came into the shelter on 8/10 as a stray. Handling 8/29: Handling 8/24: Handling 8/15: Handling 8/12: Handling video: Leash Test: Leash Test: Leash Test: Leash Test: Oh Sheila! Life keeps handing her lemons and she keeps making the best of it with a smile on her face. Sheila came to us after someone tied her to the gate at the shelter. She was found early morning but who knows how long she was out there, maybe all night, hopefully much shorter. Sheila is an older gal, with aging ailments and some things that seem more neglectful. She’s suffering from a bad infection which medical is trying to treat but she’s still very uncomfortable. We definitely think she wasn’t on the street alone and that someone who knows her tied her up. But this dog is the sweetest no matter what hardships life handed to her. Her little tail wags so fast when she gets attention and she gives little kisses if she’s allowed (which is always with her shelter buds). Sheila knows commands like sit and paw but her legs are rigid and shaky making it hard to show off. She’s very hungry and still gentle taking treats. She allows handling all over and is a dream on the leash, never pulling even though she’s incredibly potty trained. No matter how long we’re outside she goes right back to her kennel. Sheila is senior perfection! show less
