Meet Arbie, a gangly, lovable hound who loves to play, loves to chase and be chased (by people and bumblebees), and run in her fenced yard. She’s an active girl and will gladly exercise with you in the mornings and evenings. She does well on a leash, but will sometimes shy from loud noises, so it’s best to have her secured with a loop leash or harness. She has enjoyed obedience training, and knows Place, Sit, Down, Wait, Come (not great at come when there are no treats). Her favorite reward is lots of scratching! Arbie also loves her puzzle toys (most smart dogs do!), and we try to make sure she has one or two of these a day, as she loves to chew and use her nose. Arbie is housetrained! Will bark to go out (sometimes bark a lot to go out!). And when she goes out, it’s great to have a place within her fence that she is allowed to dig. Also, she would appreciate a few bushes to provide what she thinks is a good hideout. Arbie loves running around in our yard on a long 30’ leash, but she does not get to roam free, as we worry that a loud noise would send her running in an unsafe direction. Arbie was a stray we adopted from a local shelter and we have enjoyed having her as part of our family. Arbie really prefers older kids and adults, as younger kids make her nervous, and bring out some resource-guarding behaviors. She loves my 12 year old grandson and all the adults, and will do great in a home without young children. We have a lot of young children in our family and extended family, and we think Arbie and the little kiddos just aren’t a good mix. This is a requirement for her new home. She also loves to play with most other dogs and has spent a lot of time in a doggie daycare, but she has had occasional spats, so dog introductions with a new family are important to see if they are a good match. I am located in East TN but don’t worry my rescue family uses Rescue Riders, the most per friendly transport on the road. My adoption fee also includes the transport fee and the interstate health certificate fee for transport. Hurry up and get that application in at petpath.org show less

Meet Bella! 4.5 years old 90 pounds Spayed Female, Heartworm Negative St Bernard (possibly mixed) Adult Adoption Fee $400 **NOTE: READ FULL BIO BEFORE APPLYING TO ADOPT ** Bella is a gorgeous 90 pound St. Bernard that was returned to rescue after being adopted three (3) years ago. Her adoptive family is going through some personal medical issues and they decided it would be best for Bella to have another home where she could be the center of attention. Bella’s foster mom loves and adores Bella, and knows that the “perfect” home is out there waiting for her! These are the things potential adopters need to know about Bella and what is needed to make her happy in her new home: -A securely fenced in yard (non-negotiable -- tie outs, radio collars, etc. are not acceptable). -She needs to be the only dog in the household. Or, if there is another resident dog, it needs to be one that can absolutely handle playing roughly, wrestling, play biting, chasing, etc. without getting angry. (Her best dog friend is a neutered male Australian Cattle dog that plays as hard as she does). -Bella tends to "push buttons" on some dogs and it has caused fights. We consider her to be dog-selective. Any dog that growls at her she will react negatively. Absolutely no small dogs, no senior dogs, and no cats. (She is not a dog-park candidate). -Needs daily exercise (long walks and swimming). She is not a couch potato until after she has exercised each day. -Needs her people to be home a lot. (Do not apply if you work 7+ hours or more a day away from home). She wants her people to be around her. Loves all people and kids. -Needs a home where she can sleep with her person and be allowed on the furniture. She is not to be an outside-only dog under any conditions. -Bella loves women more than men, and will bond quickly to the women in the household who care for her. -She is housetrained when given appropriate times to go out to do her business. -St. Bernard breed experience is preferred with potential adopters; large breed dog experience considered. Bella is true to her breed -- guarding, loving, and stubborn. If you feel you are the perfect home for Bella, please email Amanda at pawsofvalor.ar@gmail.com to request an adoption application. Please Note: It is not possible to meet your pet prior to transport, however every effort is made to ensure that pets are matched to the appropriate families prior to adoption. Vet references, personal references, and home visits may be also be required. Our adoption fees include: Spay/neuter, microchip, up-to-date DAPP/C vaccines, bordatella (kennel cough) vaccine, rabies vaccine (12-weeks and older), heartworm test (6 months or older), deworming(s), and up to date flea/tick/heartworm prevention. Adoption fee also includes up-to-date vetting and transport to the adopter’s area (North East/Great Lakes) via USDA certified transport services. show less

BOOMER is so sweet he will make you forget chocolate exists! Age: 9 months young Breed: Border collie/Australian Shepherd mix Size:about 30-35lbs He’s very smart and highly trainable. He is shy at first but warms up quickly. He will sort of sniff you and be weary but then when his curiosity gets the best of him and he stand it anymore he makes friends with you very quickly. A fenced area would be good but if you take the time and walk him and bond with him on a leash and give him time to know you are his family a fence will not be needed but he cannot be off leash until he is comfortable and trust you. If you do have a fence and your fence is a chain link you cannot leave him outside unattended because he knows how to climb a chain fence or kennel. If you have a wooden privacy fence or other type he will likely do pretty good. He wants to be with his people and loves to cuddle on your lap. Boomer is socialized with other dogs and has a moderate to high energy level. He is crate trained and will pick himself up when it’s bedtime or time to eat. He’s a great pup and will make his future family so happy. He is also House trained, potty trained, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and Microchipped. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to this sweeter than chocolate boy write to: petpathorg@yahoo.com with any questions or fill out an application on our site. MYA is so sweet she makes sugar cry. She’s the sweetest girl and loves to play. Age: 3 years young Breed: Labrador retriever mix Size:about 45-55 Mya was a dump off stray that was brought to us in pretty horrible shape. She was starved and skin and bone and she had a large mass on her nose. We fattened her up and got her spayed and vetted. When she was all healed up we went back to get her lump removed. It turned out to likely be a a Mast Cell Tumor which is sadly pretty common in dogs. Our vet believes he removed all of it and it was not embedded in bone so it’s looking very promising for this girls future. She does get along with other dogs. She tends to exhibit a bit of dominance but will stand down when corrected. She tends to play momma hen and correct those that are misbehaving or acting overly excited. We correct this to let her know she doesn’t have to do that and that we will take care of that. She is also House trained, potty trained, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and Microchipped. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to this sugar pie write to: petpathorg@yahoo.com with any questions or fill out an application on our site. MYSTIC is a happy bouncy girl that will fill your heart with joy. Age: 3yrs young Breed: Lab/hound mix Size:about 55 Mystic is a very special girl who came from a horrible situation. She is mostly deaf and blind but can see up close (probably blurry) and she can hear certain pitches. She lived in a tiny pen filled with her own urine and feces and the cause of her hearing and sight loss is unknown yet not reversible. She is so happy and energetic to be out of that life and on her way to her new one! She really does get around good once she is introduced to her new area by leash. Because of her sight and hearing loss. She will require a fenced yard area for her for when she goes outside to potty and play She’s got a mild to moderate energy level and loves to go for walks on leash and loves to sniff and explore her world. Since she can’t see or hear it very well she will need a family that will be able to take the time to let her explore the only way she can and that’s by following her nose. She would do best with older children and that’s only because she cannot see or hear them and may knock little ones over unintentionally. She’s is so sweet she wouldn’t hurt anyone or anything. She’s a little shy til she trusts you and in time will learn how to accept more attention and petting. She is also House trained, potty trained, heartworm negative, fully vaccinated and Microchipped. If you are interested in opening your heart and home to this special sweet girl, write to Petpathorg@yahoo.com with any questions or fill out an application via our site. Hi I’m Paris and they say I’m a deer head chihuahua whatever that means. They also tell Me I’m a rare little princess, because my coloring is so unique. I’m growing my coat back in and it’s lookIng fabulous! My rescue family thinks I have a genetic muted gene that gives me this charcoal gray color with tan marks on my face and legs. When they first met me I laughed at them because they thought I was a Mexican hairless chihuahua. Yeah I laughed but then again o was totally naked so I guess they got the last laugh. I’m doing great now but you see my previous owner couldn’t take care of me any longer. I spent a lot of time locked up in my crate with fleas (which is where my hair loss started). I was always having to lay on. H own urine and near my own feces because my owner could no longer take care of me. My nails were so long it hurt to walk I’m all fixed up now and feeling and look g better than ever! I will take some time to get used to you so be patient with me. I’ve been through a lot and being left alone in a crate for so much time I sort of forgot how good it felt to be held and loved. I am located in east T. But no worries we use rescue riders for our transport and they are amazing and take such great care of us for our transport trip to meet our new families. They are the best.
