About Cinco

South Texas is always inundated with homeless animals-particularly the border towns where there is much needed spay and neutering services but not much available to the community. Because of this, there is constantly an overwhelming amount of homeless dogs and puppies roaming the streets. Then you have the kind hearted people who want to help these animals and give them a home; what started as a well-meaning individual taking in a stray has resulted in litter after litter of puppies and an owner feeling completely overwhelmed. We received a call from a shelter dealing with a hoarding case. A house full of over 20 dogs were pulled from the home and we were able to take them in. They were given the medications they needed, a belly full of food, and a “spa day” as soon as they arrived. They are getting the socialization they need and as much food as they can get their paws on! This motley crew are fun-loving, smart, and healthy. Uno, Dos, Tres, Cuatro, and Cinco are just a bunch of cuddle bugs and are just so appreciative of their new lives. They are excited to get the attention and care they needed and can't wait to find their forever homes! Fill out an application today at www.snipsa.org!

Angel was surrendered after her previous owner unfortunately became too ill to care for her. A little shy at first, as her world just turned upside down, it took a minute for Angel to feel comfortable. But with each day of being in foster care, Angel’s personality shines brighter and brighter. She loves ear scratches and belly rubs and the almighty tennis ball is her absolute favorite. Angel will play fetch or tug o’war all day long! Angel is house trained and walks well on a leash. However, she would prefer a home where she is not crated as she does get stressed when feeling confined. We think Angel does have a bit of separation anxiety from being left alone for long periods of time when her owner was at the hospital so a home where you are present with her more often than not is best. She would also make a terrific officemate as she is well-behaved and will chill by your side all day. Angel loves to play with other dogs so as long as she has another furry companion in the home, she will do just fine in the house while you are away. Angel even loves to play with cats too so if you have a dog-friendly kitty, she is one happy girl! Angel just loves anyone who gives her a bit of attention and affection. She is an all-around great girl just waiting on her forever home. Is it with you? Fill out an application for Angel today at www.snipsa.org! show less

If you are HAPPY and you know it clap your hands! Well that about sums up our Elsa. Wagging tail, spring in her step, wiggly bottom, happy dance…she LOVES life. Elsa arrived to SNIPSA with demodex mange and chronic skin allergies. She didn’t smell pretty or look like a princess either. It would take several weeks, medicated baths, and a myriad of medication before she started looking like a healthy dog again. Now she is doing much better!! She may have an occasional itch or two but her shiny blonde coat has started to glow. Elsa is housebroken, LOVES children, sleeps like a champ in her crate, and gets special walks by her neighborhood posse. She would do well in almost any environment but would especially thrive in a family that is adventurous, is home more than they are gone, thinks dogs have a special place in heaven, and appreciates the journey of where dogs have come from and where they end up. Elsa is great off lead and doesn’t tend to run away. She simply wants to meet anyone that walks by. Elsa may require intermittent treatment for her skin so would need someone committed to her veterinary care. We simply don’t know at this point. If you are ready for one of the most joyous souls in the universe- please consider adopting the magnificent Elsa. Fill out an application at snipsa.org! show less
