Meet Peanut! She is 5 months old and came to us from Texas. Here are a few words from her foster: "Peanut is a fantastic dog, she has the sweetest personality! She loves her kisses and cuddles. Naps are her favorite. She likes to think she owns the couch and loves to sprawl out! She loves to talk to other dogs, but does seem a little nervous around bigger dogs at first. She likes to talk when in the kennel for bed time too but it has been getting better every day. She isn't a fan of car rides or really any loud noises like trains or trucks. Peanut would be a perfect fit for a family with small children and other pets or an active couple. She loves the outdoors and running after the squirrels in our yard! She doesn't have much interest in toys but loves a good chew stick or bone! Peanut will make someone very happy 😊” show less

Meet Mr. Parker He is around 2-3 years old and 45lbs! He came to us from a high kill shelter in Texas where he was going to be euthanized due to space he is such a fun boy! Parker really enjoys hanging out with his humans and so far he has been great on the leash. He loves running around the yard and playing with the other dogs, but he would do best with a female or a non-dominant male. He is a very affectionate dog and he is ready to join a family furever! Meet Sonja! She is about 4 years old and is searching for her furever family. She spent 2 years already at her shelter in Texas before coming to us in February and she really wants to find her home ❤️ She is very shy, it will take her awhile to warm up to her new family. She is almost like an old soul in a little body, she would make a great companion for someone that could be patient with her and understand where she came from. She would do best in a home with women. It takes her much longer to warm up to men. She loves to sleep in the bed with you and snuggle on the couch. We know her human is out there! She likes having her own little corner to sit and lay in and observe her surroundings. She gets along with other dogs but tends to not really play with them. He is the most perfect boy ever! 💙 he is a lot smaller than he looks, coming in at about 40lbs, and he is 2-3 years old! Everyone, meet Mary! From her foster: Mary is 2 years old and about 39 pounds. She came to Border Paws after being sheltered in Tennessee for over a year. She is an incredibly sweet and affectionate, outgoing girl who loves to play! She also likes to be the center of attention. Mary would do very good with a family who would keep her busy and give her tons of snuggles. She’ll do anything for treats and forehead kisses and will let you hold her all day long if you want to. Mary is potty and kennel trained. She also does well on a leash, though she loves to stop and smell everything in new areas. Mary always wants to be by your side! She’d do best in a house without cats but is great with other dogs! She does play a little rough with other dogs sometimes, but backs off if you tell her to and settles down to cuddle with them. Dudley is about 6 months old. He's a small breed dog, currently about 20-25 lbs. He's a very sweet, outgoing, and playful boy! Good with other dogs and does very good in his kennel. Dudley is still searching for a furever home! From his fosters: Hi!!!!! My name is Dudley. My foster parents refer to me as Dudley, Mr. Dudley, Dudles, Duds, and Dudler. Here is a bit about me from my foster parents view. He is such a loving and sweet boy. He loves to cuddle! He is a very playful boy with dogs of all sizes but also loves his toys. His favorites include hard chew toys, tug toys and toys made to be ripped apart. He is also a fan of chase! He take turns with his foster sisters chasing each other around the yard. He is kennel trained and potty trained (I know, very impressive for 6 months old). He has a nose that doesn’t quit and we think Dudley would be a great outdoor dog. He is ready to go on all the walks and hikes and runs you could bring me on. He still getting used to structured walks but he knows basic commands and some basic recall. This is Mars. She was a pregnant stray roaming the streets of Texas until someone took her in. Mars's puppies have been weaned and she is ready to find her forever home. This sweet girl is 1-2 years old and she just loved the small dogs and cats in her foster home! Mars is a real sweet heart, still a puppy herself but potty trained, very affectionate and lots of fun to spend time with, any family would be lucky to have her, she needs to learn basic commands and a fenced yard for sure, she doesn't like loud noises like fire crackers!you would be her best bud if you scratched both her sides at the same time! show less

Hershey is 4 months old and came to us from Texas. This is what his foster parents had to say about him 😊. “Hershey is a lover. He warmed up to the big dogs right away and loves to give them kisses! He loves his toys, especially his little lamb chop that will have to go with him to his new home. He barks when he sees our cats so he doesn’t get very close to them. He is very curious about them so I think it will just take time for him to get use to. He is doing great with potty training and will use puppy pads, but will go outside if you catch him needing to go! We put him in the kennel when we leave and he whines for a short amount of time then is fine. He has been spoiled at night sleeping with kids, but I know he would do fine sleeping in a kennel if needed.” show less

He is full of energy so will definitely need to go to someone who is patient with him. It takes him a little bit to warm up to bigger dogs, but once he does it's no issue. He is very interested in cats. Our cats just don't care for him, but I don't think he would hurt them. Twix is doing very good with potty training. He has pads, though once you see him sniffing and take him out, he will go outside! We put him in the kennel when we leave and he whines until we leave then is fine. He has been spoiled at night sleeping with kids, but I know he would do fine sleeping in a kennel if needed!" show less
