Sponsor Rocco by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Rocco's sponsor and your donation will help pay for nutritious food and supplements and medical expenses. Rocco thanks you! Hi there! I'm Rocco, a vibrant and playful German Shepherd pup who's around 10-12 months old, though I might be a bit younger. I absolutely love engaging with other dogs and am known to be a spirited player, always in it for the fun. In playgroups, I shine, and my first pack walk was a breeze—I'm not leash reactive and handle a harness well (although I might pull a bit on a martingale). I'm on a mission to be everyone's friend, and I've been spending a good amount of time in playgroups, making sure to shower my furry pals with kisses. However, I'm learning that not everyone may appreciate my enthusiastic affection, so that's a lesson in progress. Basic training is on my to-do list, but I'm a sweetheart who's eager to please. I walk well on a leash with no reactivity, and car rides are becoming less intimidating for me. I may need a little boost into the car for now, but I'm getting the hang of it. I was found in Stockton and one of the super-duper BAGSR volunteers took me in. Despite the initial touch of nervousness, I've been a good boy—calm in my kennel, no accidents, and enjoying outdoor activities. My social skills are a work in progress, and I might come off a bit forward with other dogs, but I take corrections well. I'm looking for a family or owner who's familiar with the breed and ready to provide an active and playful lifestyle. If you're up for some basic training and setting boundaries, I'm your blank slate pup ready to embark on a new chapter in life. Let's make lasting memories together! 🐾 I’ll be waiting in Santa Rosa. Ariel thanks you! Hi! I'm Ariel, your friendly neighborhood German Shepherd gal. At 55 pounds, I'm a compact, perfect sized adolecent.  Life's a blast, and I'm here to make every moment count! I've got plenty of energy and a heart as sweet as can be. Walking or hiking? Count me in! I walk nicely on a front clip harness put can pull hard without the right equipment-working on it though!  I would love to be your trusty companion on any outdoor adventure. Plus, I've got a nose for sniffing out all the interesting scents along the way. I also love visiting stores....like the pet store-hint, hint! When it comes to other dogs, I'm a social butterfly, but fair warning—I bring the high energy to playtime! I thrive on both physical and mental stimulation, so let's keep the fun and games coming-I think ball chasing is really fun. And speaking of games, I’m a very smart girl and I'm totally treat motivated, which means I'm ready to ace any group training sessions you throw my way. Something you should know about me is that I’m totally in tune with my person and am eager to please. I check in often with my person when I’m out and about. Road trip, anyone? I'm all about hopping in the car and hitting the open road. I ride like a pro and can't wait to see where our next adventure takes us. I settle in nicely to new situations and go with the flow. Oh and I've got a bit of a fascination with squirrels. Those little critters are just so intriguing! So, if you're looking for a fun-loving, sweet-natured social companion who's always up for a good time, look no further than yours truly, Ariel the German Shepherd! Sponsor Missy by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Missy's sponsor and your donation will help pay for nutritious food and supplements and medical expenses. Missy thanks you! Missy is a very sweet gentle 7 year old girl. She is people and dog friendly.....likely cat friendly too. Missy is a medium sized girl weighing about 60 lbs. She has a very soft, pure white coat. Missy's DNA test revealed she is mostly GSD, with a touch of Alaskan Malamute.  Missy's prior life was quite stressful as she was living with an owner that was mostly unhoused. Missy spent the good part of this last year living at a boarding kennel by day and sleeping in a car by night. Missy is now with BAGSR and we are discovering this sweet girl's personality.  Missy can be a little shy meeting someone for the first time but she gets over it quickly and then shows her playful side. She does well with other dogs but has told us she prefers calmer, gentler dogs (large or small). When she would get overwhelmed in play groups you could find her just sitting on the outskirts observiing the chaos.  Missy does well on leash and would greatly benefit from being out and about and getting to see the world. Missy rides well in the car and we believe she is housetrained. She has not been at all destructive and she is not a big barker. She does have a touch of Malamute and will 'talk' a bit when she's happy and excited to see you.  This is a wonderful, swett girl that would greatly benefit from a family that will offer her a brand new beginning. She will thrive in home that shows her consistency, safety and lots of love. Missy is waiting in Santa Rosa. You like this dog...now what? Sponsor Kenzo by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Kenzo's sponsor and your donation will help pay for nutritious food and supplements and medical expenses. Kenzo thanks you! Hi there, I'm Kenzo! I’m about a year old. You see, I'm not really the typical Malinois—I'm more on the relaxed side, especially when it comes to drive. The one thing that gets me super excited, though? Food! I absolutely adore it, and I'm still learning some manners around it. I might even try to snag a snack away from a child, but it's just because I love food so much. I also don’t have much experience with littles ones. I'm a sweet boy who loves being with my human. Car rides are a blast for me, especially if I get the front seat for a cozy nap. When you first get me out of my space, I might jump up a bit out of excitement, and I have this habit of nipping at clothes, but I promise, it's just because I'm bursting with joy! Once I'm out and about, that behavior fades away. I'm fantastic with other dogs and I walk pretty well on a leash. I'm not a big barker, and I don't cause trouble like fence fighting or digging. Meeting new people is fun for me, though sometimes I take a moment to warm up to them. But once I do, I'm all cuddles and wagging tail! I dream of an active home where my humans take me out on adventures. Hiking sounds amazing, and I'd make a great travel buddy. I might benefit from some training to build confidence in this big world, and I've heard agility could be a fun challenge for me. Oh, and I have a tendency to climb things—I just love looking at the world from a higher view! I'm a big fan of cuddles and I don't mind being groomed or taking baths. No need to worry about aggression from me; I'm just a loving goofball. I might need a bit more socialization, but hey, I'm doing pretty great considering where I've been. Overall, I'm just a lovable pup looking for a home with active humans who'll help me grow and explore this big, exciting world. My foster mom thinks I should have a dog sibling that would like to play with me.  I'll be waiting with my foster family in Granite Bay. You like this dog...now what? Millie thanks you! Hi! I'm Millie, a six-month-old petite girl with a big heart. Sometimes I might be a little shy at first, but once you get to know me, you'll discover my soft and gentle temperament. Happiness is my middle name, and I always have a playful spirit ready to brighten up your day. I'm well-behaved and have mastered the art of living in a house. I find comfort in my cozy crate, making it the perfect spot for a good night's sleep. I think kids are awesome companions, and I'm always on my best behavior around them. I'm also a social butterfly with other dogs (small and large), making me a great addition to any furry friend group. I am being fostered with indoor cats, barn cats, chickens, an alpha dog foster sister, horses, cows, goats. She LOVES them all. This wriggly goofball loves to play and is going to be petite.  Walking on a leash is a breeze for me and I enjoy exploring the world one step at a time. Oh, did I mention I'm a quick learner? Training sessions are like playtime for me! Speaking of play, the yard is my kingdom. I absolutely love running around and chasing after toys. Playtime is the best time, and I'm always up for a game or two. So, that's a little glimpse into my puppy life. I can't wait to meet you and create countless happy moments together! Crossed over to RB in March 2024. Adopted 1/14/24 Sponsor Aki by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Aki's sponsor and your donation will help pay for nutritious food and supplements and medical expenses. Aki thanks you! Hello there! I'm Aki, the friendly and easy-going 8+-year-old German Shepherd. I may be a bit older, but I'm still full of life and love to greet people in our home politely - no jumping for me! I’m friendly and warm up quickly to new friends. If you invite me, I will be on your bed or sofa. I have a calm demeanor and am always up for some treats and affection. I love to greet people in my home politely, and I've got great house manners. You won't have to worry about me being destructive with household items. I love toys and love to play tug with you or another dog.  I can't resist a good playtime! I'm housebroken and don't need a crate in my house. I like to sleep on my own bed right next to my owner's bed. It's cozy and comfortable. I will alarm bark, so you can count on me to let you know if something's going on. When it comes to car rides, I do well, but I might need a little assistance getting in due to my arthritis. It can be a bit tough for me to jump up or climb things, but I'm always grateful for the help. I can still jump, but best to have a ramp. I love sticking my head out of a window although Mom only lets me stick out my head a little. This is my report card from my Mom: Mellow, no behavioral issues, loves walking and great with house guests and other dogs. I am a little talkative my Mom just laughs. Very well socialized with other dogs, tries to initiate play with other dogs, but will walk away and not bother a dog if they don't want to play. I get the cues.  On walks, I'm a well-behaved pup. I'm interested in other dogs and cats, but I won't be lunging or barking at them.  I'm a smart boy, and I know some commands like sit, stay, down, and go to my bed and I’m polite too. I'll even lightly "knock" on the door to the backyard with my paw when I need to go out. If I want some attention, I'll push my head into you. I may not be the biggest kisser, but I'll still give you good morning kisses and I'll even apologize with kisses if I accidentally step on your toe. One thing to note is that my arthritis can make it challenging for me to get onto furniture or into cars, so a little help goes a long way. .If you have hard wood floors, it's OK for me too - I walk very carefully.  Overall, I'm a loving and well-behaved German Shepherd who enjoys the simple pleasures in life and values the company of my humans. I absolutel love to play tug with another dog or ask you to throw the ball for me. I surprised my foster by swimming in her friend's pool and loved it.  I’ll be waiting with my foster mom in Elk Grove. You like this dog...now what? Ike is a Courtesy Post for the Humane Society of the North Bay. Meet Ike! This gorgeous boy is about eight years old, weighs 100 lbs., and is fully house-trained. The volunteers and staff at the Humane Society of the North Bay in Vallejo (where he currently resides) describe Ike as "playful, intelligent, alert, very good-natured," and "a real gentleman." He is people and dog-friendly and has a calm, easy-going demeanor. Ike walks beautifully on leash and is considered a "green dog" by the shelter staff - which means even the newest dog walkers can take him out for walks. He knows a few basic commands and is eager to learn more, especially how to take treats gently from your hand.  Ike enjoys going on walks, playing with his toys, and going on outings. He has good house manners and rides well in the car. A volunteer who recently took him home for an overnight stay-cation reports that he was an "easy companion" and seemed very content just to curl up by her feet while she worked on her computer. Play with him, and he responds like a puppy, showing incredible gratitude! Those who know him feel he will do best with someone who is willing to keep him mentally challenged through play and physically stimulated with daily exercise. He is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccines, and has moderate energy. This lovely dog has no known health issues. If you want to meet Ike or get more information about him, please contact the adoption staff at the Humane Society of the North Bay in Vallejo. CA. They can be reached by emailing adoptions@HSNB.org. Hey there! I'm Stella, a lively pup of about 2 years old, tipping the scales at a solid 57 pounds. Woof, I've got energy for days and a heart full of happiness! Leash walks? Oh, I'm a pro at those! I strut my stuff like a champ, making those walks a breeze. I've been hitting the books, or rather, learning basic commands lately. Sit, stay, paw... you name it, I'm getting the hang of it! My recall game? Pretty good, if I do say so myself. That makes me one super trainable pooch! When it comes to my personality, I'm not the shy type. Hey there! I'm Scout, a lively one-year-old pup, tipping the scales at a healthy 60 pounds. Life is an absolute blast, and I'm loving every minute of it! Leash walking? Nailed it. I glide along like a champ, impressing everyone with my leash etiquette. Basic commands? Yep, working on mastering those. My recall game? I'd say it's pretty strong—I'm quite the trainable pup. I've got a gentle, shy side to me. Meeting new faces can make me a bit reserved, but once I warm up, I'm all about spreading love and joy! Being submissive and friendly is just who I am—I'm a sweetheart through and through. Oh, and those cats? No problemo! I'm doing just fine with them. When it comes to other dogs and people, I'm a social butterfly! No barking here—just good vibes and tail wags all around. I've got my health records all sorted out, and life with my furry friends and humans couldn't be better! I’ll be waiting for my new family going between Carmel and La Quinta. My foster mom says she’s happy to give me a lift to meet a suitable prospective adopter so don’t let the distance scare you. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. BAGSR is assisitng with finding Scout a new home. Christopher thanks you! Hi! I’m Christopher! I’m a 2 year old sweet, friendly boy with a compact physique.  I weigh only about 45 pounds. I’m a healthy boy with a pretty coat and pearly white teeth. I meet new human friends with a friendly demeanor, and I meet new doggos appropriately and with a wagging tail and perfect approach.  I don’t like cats though. I allow all over handling and remain happy and affiliative with all touch. I walk nicely on leash too. I have beautiful house manners and love to go in the car. I would make a perfect traveling buddy especially because of my size. I know basic commands and I come when called. My new friends say I’m adorable and just a gem. This is a courtesy post and I’ll be waiting with my foster mom in Clearlake; but she will travel to bring me to meet you. You like this dog...now what? Hugo wants to thank Jason B and Celestia, who is 10 years old and not feeling well lately, for the kind donation. We hope Celestia starts feeling better ASAP and has many more years with dad.    Sponsor Hugo by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Hugo's sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Hugo thanks you! This beautiful boy is named Hugo. He and his human fellow have lived together for nearly three years enjoying each other's company, playing together, going on long walks in the neighborhood, going to the beach and most significantly, training and learning together.  Now, life has made a sudden U-turn and Hugo's fellow is no longer able to give Hugo the home he needs.  This is where you come in.  Hugo is a sensitive soul and needs a partner who is equally sensitive to his needs. He is 100% German Shepherd and for those of you with Shepherd love/experience, that means you understand some of his personality qualities that sometimes get tricky: he is protective, loyal and environmentally aware.   Underneath his regal and majestic appearance, there is still a young dog who needs to trust his person and when he does, he is a delightful companion. He loves to play, loves to ride in the car, loves long walks, playing at the beach and digging in the sand. He loves attention and affection (pets, scritches and belly rubs, but no hugs, please). He thrives on training and will bond quickly with his person if consistency and predictability are combined with treats, toys, and play. With the right care and attention, he has the potential to be an amazing partner!  He is a natural protector and guard dog (as noted above) with a keen preference and trust in female humans.  (He sometimes needs to take his time with males.) He is healthy, fit and athletic. He is fully crate-trained and enjoys his crate as his safe space. Hugo would LOVE to find a person who understands his needs, can offer continued training and guidance, has the time and space to play with him and recognizes his iffies as opportunities. In return...he will give you...EVERYTHING. **This is a Courtesy Post for Search Dog Foundation and Hugo is currently in Oxnard California** Contact: Krista Eulberg, Lifetime Care Coordinator, Search Dog Foundation - kristae@searchdogfoundation.org - 805-317-8663 You like this dog...now what? Lorrie Eval Notes: When I initially met Boston, he was in a dog park with at least 40 dogs of all sizes running around. He was following other dogs and sniffing the park. Boston's owner and I took him out of the park so I could evaluate him with less distractions.  There were dozens of dogs on leash coming and going into this very busy dog park. Boston was distracted, but I was able to touch him all over his body, check his teeth, ears and feet. He was not bothered by my touching.  It took him awhile to interact with me, but he was by the end of our visit. He was looking at the other dogs, but did not have any reaction. The only reaction he had was when a lady with three Aussies walked by.  He barked at the dogs, but stopped when his owner said "leave it". Out of at least 60 dogs, those were the only dogs at which he barked. His owner said that once in awhile he does bark at leashed dogs. He has never attacked or been aggressive with another dog. In fact, his owner said there have been times when dogs have gone after him at the dog park and he will hide under a bench or behind his owner. Boston knows sit and stay and will come when called by his owner. He is housebroken and often stays home alone for over 12 hours and never has accidents. He also is not destructive in the house. He lived with another dog and three cats. He and the cats often sleep together and Boston will lick/clean the cats.  He lived with a 13 year old girl. He is good with all people. Boston's owner often had him off leash and he had good recall, even with distractions. Boston did not jump up on me at all. His owner said he rarely barks. I found Boston to be all really nice dog with a solid temperament. He has basics in place and seems to be good with all things, although can have occasional leash reactivity. His owner said even though he can be occasionally leash reactive, he has never been aggressive with a dog and will often lick another dog that he has just barked at. Foster Notes:  Boston is a sweet and friendly dog with a good disposition. He likes people and greets everyone affectionately. He enjoys snuggling on the couch and being close to his foster family, especially the dad. Boston listens well and is eager to please. He is fully housebroken and knows a few commands such as sit, stay and come. Boston is energetic and loves to take walks. He does well on and off leash, once he and his people have bonded which doesn't take long. He loves fast and hard. He plays well with other cats and dogs. He enjoys playing with his squeaky toys. Boston has a deep and loud bark he uses when people approach the front door but is otherwise quiet. He is healthy, strong and will make a wonderful pet for adults or a family. He is very handsome with a beautiful coat.  Boston was very connected with his original owner. The transition to leaving his home was not easy for him. He is a typical GSD and is extremely loyal to his person. He will need and we desire for him to have a person that will be committed to him forever and wants to have him be a huge part of their life. He would do best with someone home a lot. He seems to very drawn to men, but will connect to his person hard and fast.  Boston is an exceptional dog. Whoever is lucky enough to adopt him will have a fantastic best friend. Oh...Boston can open lever door handles so his new owner needs to keep that in mind.      show less
