Thank you Roger and Linda Pettey for sponsoring Gemma, with your kind donation. My foster mom said I'm a good girl and easy to have around!! Hi! I'm Gemma-let me tell you a bit about myself. My friends at BAGSR took me in after I had 13 puppies all alone in a field in Stockton. I’m done with the kids and ready to get on with things. I’m a young girl and it’s time to live the good life! I absolutely love going on walks, and I get excited when I see the leash. I get along well with my three foster siblings, especially the younger boy dog. We wrestle and play chase which I love to do! I think playing catch with a ball is really fun and I always bring it back to the thrower. I’m affectionate too. I love to be touched and loved on, but I'm not a pest. I'm okay with getting my fur brushed and you can pet me all over! At first I was nervous around new sounds, but now that I've been in my foster home for awhile, noises do not scare me. In fact, my foster mom thinks I'm quite confident.  I'm very fond of my foster mom and like to follow her everywhere.  I'm not a pest though. I just like to be near her. If everyone is quiet, like when watching TV or napping, I settle down too. I sleep through the night and sometimes jump up on the sofa to relax, but I’ll get off when asked. I have very nice house manners and have never gone potty in my foster mom's house or gotten into anything. My foster mom can leave me free in the house and I never do anything bad such as chewing on stuff I'm not supposed to chew on.  I've been practicing sit and come when my name is called. I’m okay passing a friendly dog on a walk, but I might react if the other dog is barking and growling. Most of the time I just look at them as we walk on by. My BAGSR friends think I lived my earlier life in a field without exposure to common urban sights and sounds. Group training would be great for me, but I really am easy to have around. I do like to chase cats so no cats for me please.  I do great with dogs my size and absolutely love my humans! When I first got to my foster home, I got a little snarky with the girl dog when food was around, but that didn't last long. I think I just needed to know I would get fed since most likely I missed a few meals when I was in the homeless encampment. I don't get snarky anymore at all. In fact, my foster mom feeds us raw bones as a treat and we all eat together in the same room. It's good to take that slow though, so I know I'm safe with dogs new to me.  I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Granite Bay. You like this dog...now what? Hi there! I’m Roman; I'm a healthy, barely nine-year-old German Shepherd gentleman. I'm very friendly with humans both big and small. I get along famously with other dogs. I love getting out and about, and I think I'd make a perfect coffee shop companion. I really enjoy going for car rides with my face in the wind. I enjoy playing with plush toys and hard chew toys too. I have to admit, I'm somewhat of a lap dog and like to cuddle.  I haven’t had a lot of training but I’m a polite boy and will be happy to learn anything you want to teach me and I do ok on leash. I like to explore and love going places for walks. I've got beautiful house manners and can stay home alone, waiting respectfully for my humans to return. Something extra special about me is that I’m past the crazy puppy stage and am happy to take things slow if that’s how you like it. But I’m also up for any adventures we can take together. Also, FYI.... I use good manners around cats! If you’re looking for mature companion like me, I hope we can meet!  I’ll be waiting in Elk Grove for my new family. You like this dog...now what? This just in from Fume's foster!!  Fume is doing great! Sleeps through the night midnight-6:30/7:00am! Very adventurous and will use the couch or any height to dive bomb our dog like a wrestler jumping from the top ropes. Not jumpy or skittish to sounds. Handles the vacuum, boy's band/drum practice!, and video game squealing from teenaged boys with ease. She LOVES our younger son and my husband in particular and runs up to him immediately upon site. She tries to swim in the water bowl and jumped into the pool after us twice. She will make a great outdoorsy persons' companion! Definitely not a lap dog and needs to be told when to nap or she’ll get a little crazy-eye like a too tired toddler. She’s a ton of fun and so dang sweet. So far my foster family have taken me in a lot of car rides and even went on a weekend trip to wine country. See me by the pool? I love water ! I love my foster sibling too.  Puppies this young cannot be left alone more than a couple of hours at a time. Hi! I'm Lucky. I’m a friendly youngster with plenty of potential.  And let me tell you, I'm all about that food life! I'm super treat motivated. I'm also a people watcher, especially in busy areas, but you won't catch me barking at passersby. I've been hanging out with my finder for a few months now, and we've really bonded. But I’m looking for my very own permanent people. In my foster home, I've got some furry friends—a senior shepherd and two corgis. The shepherd's cool with me, but those corgis think they're royalty! I've also met my finder's daughter, and I'll admit, I can get a little too excited and jump up on people. But hey, I'm just overflowing with energy! I'm crate trained, so I sleep soundly through the night. As for toys, well, let's just say I have a talent for destruction. But that's just me being a typical puppy! Car rides are the best—I love peeking out the back window and feeling the wind in my fur. I'm super friendly with other dogs, maybe a little too forward sometimes. But don't worry, there's no aggression here, just lots of kisses and wiggles. I do have a habit of jumping up, though, so I might accidentally knock over small kids or elderly folks. With some training, I'm sure I can learn to control my excitement better. I'm a big, playful puppy who just needs someone with the energy to keep up with me. With a little manners training and leash practice, I'll be the perfect family dog. So if you're up for some fun and lots of potential, I'm your gal! This is a courtesy post and I will be waiting in San Lorenzo. Hope to meet you! You like this dog...now what? ADOPTED 7/29/24 Introducing Zee! …. But we think she should be called “Wheeee” because everything to her is so fun. A total puppy still at 8 or 9 months, she is as big as she is going to get ! Maybe a little fuller as she is thin.  She is a pint sized girl around 35-40 lbs and she is the most perfect sized, not too big and not too small. Just right. She is getting much socialization with Capri, an alum BAGSR dog, Chewy the Shih Tsu, a terror, oh I mean terrier and the very fun and emotional Husky Capri.  Currently, Zee gets play dates with other BAGSR alum and they are days of Fun Fun Fun. Zee was GREAT with a gaggle of 9 week old puppies and enjoyed showing them the ropes. Zee has been introduced to the crate and is learning basic manners. She will go into the crate by herself to sleep and during the night. She’s a chow hound who howls when the ambulance goes by. Zee is learning fast and there's a lot to learn since she is a late bloomer. She will even kiss a stranger. She has puppy energy but she also can chill out like a puppy and be zzzzz'd out really fast. Everything is new to her and she really needs someone at home who keeps showing her the boundaries. She is as smart as a whip, is a good listener and is eager to please. Do you have a pool? She loves water and you also better have a good toy box. Having been at a noisy shelter, she seems to be very balanced and has greeted strangers with curiosity and wheeeee!  Zee loves following her humans around the house. She is very treat motivated and eager to learn. SHe loves to cuddle too.  She is a GO when jumping into the car to go for rides quietly in the back seat. Can I just tell you again how cute she is? Hi there, I'm Daisy! Let me tell you a little about myself. I'm a petite 4-year-old girl with a heart full of love and a zest for life. People are my absolute favorite, and I've always been good at making new friends. Meeting strangers? No problem at all! I just wag my tail and shower them with kisses. Now, let's talk about cats. I'm totally cool with confident cats who are used to hanging out with dogs. But if I come across a scaredy-cat, well, I might give them a little chase. Don't worry, though, I'm just curious, not looking to cause any harm. As for other dogs, I might get along just fine with an easy-going male companion. But another female? Probably not my cup of tea. I like being the queen of the castle! Cuddles are my absolute favorite thing in the world. Seriously, there's nothing better than snuggling up with my favorite human. And when you come home? Oh boy, get ready for the zoomies! I can't contain my excitement. I'm a big fan of walks too, especially when I get to wear my gentle leader. It helps me stay focused and enjoy the sights and smells without pulling too much. Overall, I'm a pretty calm and sweet pup with just the right amount of energy. Kids? Oh, I adore them! I'm great with them. Now, I have to confess something. I can get a little jealous, especially when that cat is hogging all the attention. I might try to nudge her out of the way so I can get some love too. Hey, a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do! All I want is a family to call my own, with or without kids, who will spoil me rotten and take me on adventures. So, what do you say? Ready to bring a bundle of joy like me into your home? I’ll be waiting in Windsor. Hope to meet you! You like this dog...now what? Willow is the very most sweetest girl, super smart and eager to please, and she loves, loves, loves her humans and doggy friends. Her favorite thing to do is sit back into your legs and gaze back at you with eyes of love. She has excellent recall and loves going on off-leash hikes with her foster family. She has been crate trained and will settle down fairly quickly without issue. Willow’s foster family has been working on her on-leash walking and she has been making rapid progress and is doing so well.  They are also getting her out and about into new environments. She can get a little anxious in new surroundings but she is getting better and better with increased exposure to new situations. Willow is about 3 years old and is a petite 65lbs. Like most GSDs, Willow will do best with a home where she can get plenty of exercise and consistent training. She would love to have a doggy sibling to play with-she gains a lot of security from having a buddy. Willow has been to wine tastings with her humans and did great. She’s currently staying with a resident brother GSD and a Labrador. She often makes eye contact with her foster, checking in often and she knows some obedience skills. Through some unfortunate circumstances in her life, she has been bounced around a bit but has been a trooper. This is a courtesy post and Willow will be waiting in Livermore. Thank you to Kathryn Rothberg and Anne Spalasso for sponsoring our Pepper Spice ! We appreciate you all :) Sponsor Pepper by clicking here. Your name will appear on this page as Pepper’s  sponsor and your donation will help pay for nutritious food and supplements and medical expenses. Pepper thanks you! My name is Pepper! A DNA test indicates that I am mostly German shepherd dog with a little bit of Siberian husky. I am faster than my two foster GSDs – playing rough with them is lots of fun. I also have better search skills during “Find It” – I absolutely love this game and playing ball. I ride great in trucks, love going everywhere with my foster dad. I'm a great size for a travel companion. Once I know I can trust you and that you are my person (protector/guardian), you’ll be my world, and I your very affectionate constant companion (shadow) and playmate. From Pepper’s foster dad: Pepper is a spayed 10 month old high energy GSD that will need She will need an experienced, patient, gentle resilient handler with knowledge of R+ training methods, and lots of daily exercise to feel fulfilled/calm and bring out the best in her. She was a little fearful coming into foster. She bonds quickly, but the fear fed into separation anxiety relieved by chewing when left at home, and resource-guarding of the foster in proximity to other dogs, and to anyone approaching when in the vehicle with the foster. The resource guarding behavior and need to chew during absences is receding as she feels more and more secure. She is able to meet new dogs (off or loose leash). She is fearless around big dogs, but sometimes has issues with smaller dogs. Cats are prey, plain and simple. She has full run of the house (minus bedrooms and bathrooms). She uses the dog door, knows and uses her elimination spot outside, has good recall, sit and down. Loves the agility course at the park. Plays hard, then cuddles on the couch after meals. Leash walking, counter surfing, and avoiding general mischief are works in progress. She sleeps in the bedroom on beds on the floor with two GSDs and foster parents. Pepper is a great dog with amazing potential to be amazing if matched with the right person for the long haul. (Think Tommy Lee Jones & Will Smith in Men in Black. WS “Is it worth it?”…TLJ: “Oh yeah, its worth it..if your strong enough”) Pepper is waiting in Livermore. Puppies this young cannot be left alone more than a couple of hours at a time. Hi, I'm Cane. I'm a very handsome Belgian Malinois boy and I"m looking for my new forever home. I'm about a year old and about 55 lbs. A little more about me.....  I'm still a pup and I'm still learning but I'm ready to explore the world with my people. I'm an active youngster but not an over the top kind of guy. I do love a good game of tug and will give it my all! Balls are fun, too, but the tug.......definitely my thing. I love to jump in the car and have some fun and go to new places so that's pretty cool and I'm a good passenger. I can't wait for my next journey as I hear we get to go to really neat places like the beach!! My new friend Jackson told me about this really cool place with a pond.....can't wait.  Oh, I got to play on a "see saw" and boy, that was fun. Wow, there is so much to see, smell and explore........ I know some basics and come when I'm called (most of the time). I like to walk and do pretty well. I will pull just a little sometimes when I see something I want to check out but mostly I'll stay close. I like other dogs of all sizes and a good game of chase with some gentle wrestling is loads of fun. The loud, barky, in-your-face rough ones can be a bit much for me right now so if you know of some nice, easy playmates we could have some fun.  I've seen a few meowers and I'm not sure if I like them or not, very interesting. I haven't met many small humans yet, either, but I think I would like to. So much new stuff coming my way. So, if  your're looking for a boy that loves to play, travel, hike, explore, snuggle and even just chill, I would love to meet you to see if we could be besties. I'm playing in Santa Rosa so come say hi.  You like this dog...now what? Please complete an application at https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/42179/generic.  Our adoption team will contact you by phone or email (watch your spam) to see if it's a match! If you have already been approved to adopt from us, please contact your Adoption Counselor and they will will help you set up a meeting.   If you are interested in fostering a dog, please let us know. There is an overwhelming number of dogs who need our help and the more fosters we have, the more dogs we can save. BAGSR covers ALL expenses and we have vacation coverage. All you have to provide is love and a temporary home.  show less

Lolita thanks you! Hi! I’m Lolita. I'm a six-year-old girl with a mix of German Shepherd and Golden Retriever in my blood. People often tell me I'm the perfect blend of beauty and brains! I live in a bustling foster home with lots of other dogs, and while it's a full house, it's always filled with fun and love. One of my favorite things in the world is meeting new people and kids. I have a friendly wag and a big smile for everyone I encounter. There's just something about those little humans that makes me want to snuggle up for pets. Now, if there's one thing that can make me the happiest dog around, it's treats. I'm very treat-motivated; just a whiff of something tasty and I'm all ears and wagging tail. But, I must admit, I do get a little protective of my treats and food. Sharing isn't exactly my strong suit when it comes to yummy snacks. I like to keep my goodies safe, so you'll often see me guarding them until I'm sure no one else is going to swoop in and steal my delicious treasures. Life in my foster home is pretty great, with all the different doggy personalities to keep things interesting. I can't wait to find my forever home where I can share my love. Until then, I'm enjoying every moment and every belly rub that comes my way. . Lolita is waiting with her foster family in Stockton. You like this dog...now what?
