Sponsor Tyler by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Tyler’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Tyler thanks you! Hi! I’m Tyler. I’m a 2 year old boy and I weigh about 81 pounds. I’m friendly and playful. In fact I love toys and enjoy engaging my foster dog sibling to play with my toys with me. I think it’s great to have my foster brother around! When my foster dad and mom leave us alone, they spy on us via the security cameras and we just chill or play together. I’m a quick learner and my people are so proud of me for trying hard and understanding quickly. I’ve already learned so many of the things that all good dogs should know; I even wait patiently to eat until I get the OK signal. I’m perfect at using the dog door and know to go outside for potty. I am polite when meeting new dogs and can be a tad shy sometimes meeting new people. I warm up quickly though-especially when there are treats involved. I do great when I’m out and about and love to sniff and explore. I have really good leash manners-no pulling or barking at other dogs. I’ve shown a tad bit of interest in cats and horses and I am interested in squirrels. But don’t seem to have a super high prey drive so I MAY be cat workable with proper introductions. I will be a wonderful companion to take with you on adventures of all kinds. I am a social boy so my friends say that my new home should be with people who like to go places and of course bring me along. If my family has to leave me sometimes, I would prefer that there is another dog to keep me company. But…my adopters should be home most of the time or take me along so I am not left much. I have been around kids 10 and older and do great. I did fantastic at the dog doc and even fell asleep during my pedicure. I actually enjoy all over handling and plenty of love and affection. My fosters say that I am super affectionate and love to cuddle and get pats and belly rubs. They say I am a joy to have around! I hope you’d like to meet me! I’ll be waiting in Mountain View. ADOPTED ON 2/9/23 Rain is an amazing pup! He learned the dog doors within a few hours and was going out to potty by himself within a day. He's super affectionate with people and loves to hug. He is a blank slate with basic obedience so we're working on that. He's a little nervous to play with the resident dogs at first, but after a few days is asking to play. He was cat tested and was afraid of the cat. He's great with other dogs of all sizes. He has absolutely no reactivity. He's very curious on walks and closely watches all people and dogs. He does not bark or lunge, he just looks. He is a medium energy dog. He's been going on 3 mile daily walks with his foster family with playing with the other dogs. He plays with toys on his own and engages in play with his foster siblings. Rain does not like the crate and ate the crate tray. He rides well in the car, but will chew on stuff if available. He's a puppy! Rain would do best in a home with another playful but not overly dominant dog. He also loves people so much that he would do best in a home where his person is home a lot or Rain could go to work with them. Rain went on a trip to Pet Food Express and did great! He came nose to nose with a small breed dog and was a perfect gentleman. He engaged with the staff and leaned in for pets. Rain has shown some resource guarding of his person when other dogs approach. He has not bitten or lunged, just snarled. He stops with a quick "no". He would do best with a confident owner to work on this issue and so that Rain knows this behavior is not allowed. He is VERY sensitive. Anything more than a voice correction would break this pup's heart and spirit. Sponsor Rain by clicking here. Adopted on 2/8/2023. Hi! I’m Shawn. I’m a 4 month old pup. My foster family says I’m a friendly, confident and sweet boy. They say I’m a leader and am immediately comfortable with new people and other dogs. Oh…and I’m smart too. I already know to go potty outside and am learning the basics and how to walk on leash. I am a super listener and will bond quickly with my new family. Everything is a toy right?? I’ll pick up shoes, gloves, etc and even pull thing off the counter 😊. I like my crate and will sleep quietly through the night. I love chew bones and hide them in the backyard - and the living room! Outside I use my nose to cover my bones with dirt and leaves. I get caught a lot because of the dirt on my nose-haha. I have just the right amount of energy for a pup my age. I love to chase or be chased in the yard and I get along just fine with other dogs of all of sizes. I haven’t met any cats yet but my foster family thinks I will do fine with them. I’ll be waiting in Sacramento. Puppies this age cannot be left for more than a couple of hours at a time. I think I’d would love to live with a dog sibling, or a very active family that will make sure I get enough exercise every day. In my foster home I love to play and hang out with my dog siblings. I also enjoy going on walks and running with my person. I will alarm bark when someone comes to the house, but will stop pretty quickly when I’m told. I love to get in the car and go on adventures. ADOPTED 1/15/2023 My name is Zoey. I’m a nine week old girl and everything is pretty much brand new to me. I’m quite gentle and love to chew on things since my big dog teeth are coming in and chewing feels great. My foster family including three big German Shepherds are watching out for me and showing me the ropes, but there is so much to learn! I heard that when I get adopted I’ll have my own private tutor. My favorite things, besides mealtime of course, are chewing my toys in a big soft dog bed, following my foster dad everywhere, and sleeping next to him on the couch. I’m afraid he’ll get lost if I’m not there so I like to keep him close. At night I have my own crate in the bedroom. I try to keep 👀 lookout so the big dogs can get some rest, but I fall asleep a lot. If you are ready for some puppy fun, maybe we can meet. Sponsor Nelson by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Nelson’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Nelson thanks you! I’m friendly and sweet and I’m very relational with people; I like well behaved and savvy kids who are appropriate. appropriate kids too. I sort of prefer people over dogs. I follow my foster mom everywhere! It takes me a few minutes to settle down after she leaves. I will definitely bond strongly with my new human. I allow all over handling, am quite affectionate and have a soft demeanor. I do like slow and gradual introoductions to new people, but once I know you're OK, I relax. Even though it would be great to have a dog sibling, I also won’t mind being an only dog. I get along great with my foster dog sibling and I may be too interested in cats and small dogs. I wake up in the morning raring to go so I love a good game of fetch to burn off some morning energy. Do you like to go for morning walks? I am working on my leash skills and it would be great if my new humans would continue this practice with me so I learn to meet dogs politely on leash when I’m out and about. I have some specific things to work on so I continue my progress toward passing dogs with good manners. My foster mom can share this with you. I really love to go for car rides! I am quiet and sometimes sit to look out the window. I do need appropriate daily exercise so I don’t look for “trouble”. If I’ve got energy to burn I may look for things to chew that are not mine or get into mischief…..like dig in the garden. I would really benefit from dog sports like nose work and obedience training where I can use my skills in a "job". I really must have things to do that are suitable for my energy level and personality. Because of this, I will make a super fun companion for someone who wants to have some fun "working" with me-or even competing in trials! I will alarm bark when dogs pass by my house but I listen when my foster mom redirects my focus. I also do well in a crate. My foster mom says I’m an easy-going happy boy. I hope you’d like to meet me! I’ll be waiting in Newcastle. You like this dog...now what? ADOPTED 01/02/2023 Hi! I’m Shelby! I’m a happy, playful 4-5 year old girl looking for a new family of my very own. Sponsor Shelby by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Shelby’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Shelby thanks you! THANK YOU RYAN I FOR SPONSORING MS. SHELBY. SHE IS TRYING TO LOSE A FEW LBS SO WE WILL GET HER SOME NEW KONGS AND BALLS TO CHASE - HER FAVORITE THING. Shelby is akin to a fine vintage wine – not too young, not too old, with spirited, consistent, and unique flavor. She is one of the nicest dogs you can imagine – mellow, yet full of energy and incredibly eager to please. Loves to fetch the ball for hours and even hands it back to you directly if she senses she has dropped it too far away. She also catches frisbees mid-air – amazing eye-mouth coordination! She has loved hiking the trails of Mt. Tam with her foster family. She sits, shakes, lays down; Great with off leash with other dogs. She comes to you right away when called. She is eager to ride in your car or she can be reliably left at home alone (she is crate trained or happy to sleep in her bed). She doesn’t beg for food, even when you’re fixing a Thanksgiving dinner. What could be better than that?! Shelby’s forever home should know that she really needs her daily exercise. She currently goes to the park every morning to play and usually has a long hike each afternoon. She is good on a leash, and we’re working with her to manage her excitement when she sees other dogs (she’s never aggressive, just wants to play). In summary – Shelby will be a GREAT family dog. She will likely do best with a large-ish yard, kids, and either as the only dog or live with another friendly dog with whom she can play. She will quickly become your best friend and you’ll not believe she hasn’t been a part of your family forever! You like this dog...now what? ADOPTED 01/05/2023 Xander and his litter mates, Buffy and Willow, were rescued after being abandoned in Marin. We think the litter is a German Shepherd/Rottwieler mix and about 11 weeks old. Xander is one big hunk of burning love! He is about 23 pounds of beautiful, solid pup who adores playing but really adores just being a lap dog. He is super smart and already potty trained, and is very photogenic and loves posing for photos. He is a gentle giant and would likely do well with children. Puppies this age can not be left for more than a couple of hours at a time. Please only apply if you can be home and have GSD/working breed puppy experience as an adult. Adopted on 12/21/2023 Hi! I’m Atlas. I’m an 8 month old boy GSD. I’m an extremely people friendly pup; I’m affectionate and really tune in to the humans around me. I’ll affectionately lean on you …. kind of like a dog hug. My foster mom says I’m smart and confident too. Sponsor Atlas by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Atlas' sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Atlas thanks you! I’m good in the house but remember, I am a puppy and will get into stuff if I’m not supervised. Everything is a toy…right? I’m getting quite good at using the dog doors and am almost 100% with going potty outside. I’m a quick learner. I do fine in a crate and sleep free in the bedroom quietly though the night. I have medium energy for a boy my age but I’ll need regular, vigorous exercise, also lots of socialization and training. I enjoy long walks and do well on leash for a pup my age. I will alarm bark when someone comes to the house and sometimes I bark at dogs when I’m on leash. I’ll need an adopter who will work with me on this. I need to learn that it’s not my job to bark at dogs I see out and about. I enjoy toys and really love running around the yard with my foster dog siblings. I think having a playful dog sibling would be super fun…or a regular playmate-a dog I can run and have fun with. Until I get more experience, I’ll need proper and supervised introductions to other dogs. I also love to get in the car and go on adventures. I use good manners when I go for a ride. Something you should know about me is that I’ll need an active adopter who knows us GSDs. Sometimes humans don’t realize how smart we are! I’ll be waiting with my super foster fam in Granite Bay. Adopted 12/17/2022 1/18/23 KJ - Iris was with a foster, Debra Waller, as she tested positive for annaplasmosis and was under treatment. She was eating intermittently and had a very low platelet count. While she was healing I reached out to some very good friends of ours that had lost their dog about 2 months ago and were looking again. They have an older dacshund and wanted a dog that they could take on walks again and love on. Iris was a perfect match. They were aware of her positive test and had no issues with seeing her through the healing process. Her last bloodtest all was normal and all she needs going forward is monthly tick meds. They adore her and she is great with all family members, including the older dog and visiting dogs and 5 year old grandkids. Perfect fit. show less

ADOPTED 12/16/2022. Meet Brady! He’s a sweet-tempered beauty with a lush, healthy coat. He’s medium sized at about 67 pounds. Brady is a gentle, smart and affectionate 3 year old red and black long coated fellow. He does well with polite dogs, polite children (hasn't met any really young kids yet) and loves everyone he meets! He's comfortable in stores especially if given attention (and treats) by customers or staff. Sponsor Brady by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Brady's sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Brady thanks you! He's comfortable in stores especially if given attention (and treats) by customers or staff. Just look at the photo of him chilling in Home Depot while foster mom scans the shelves! He's had some training and has a great "sit" and a really fast "down" - he sets speed records when shown something yummy. He's easy on leash and is quickly learning to wait at doors and before coming out of cars. He rides politely in the car too (See photo). He really wants to please his people and tries hard to learn English! Lots of eye contact from this sweet dog! He'll definitely do best in a home where either someone is home or he has a dog companion, he's quite social and would probably fuss if left for hours at a time. Brady is being fostered in Auburn. Adopted on 12/8/2022. Hi! I’m Bo. I’m an 8 week old boy ready for my new home. Hi! I’m Bo. I’m an 8 week old boy ready for my new home. I’m a spunky pup and my new friends say that an adopter experienced with GSDs would be best for me. I am great with the other dogs and kids in my foster home and already know to go potty outside. I do like to chase so will need supervision and training around small critters. I’m pretty much a blank slate and can promise you lots of exciting adventures. I'll be waiting in Albany with my foster fam. Sponsor Bo by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Bo's sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Hi! I’m Dakota. I’m a 4 year old boy and I weigh about 76 pounds. I’m a big, soft teddy bear pup. I seek out attention and love ear scritches. I will do zoomies around the yard and toss toys in the air to entertain myself but for the most part I have moderate energy and am rather mellow. Sponsor Dakota by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Dakota’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Dakota thanks you! I absolutely love to go for walks too! I do need practice on leash as I still pull. But practice makes perfect! I am friendly with new people that come to the house and in true GSD fashion will alarm bark until my humans say the visitors are welcome. I love attention and will show new friends all of my tricks hoping for acknowledgment; in fact, I’ll keep performing until they notice me! I’m pretty good at the groomer and the dog doc. I’m not a fan of nail trims or getting stuck with needles though. I’ve been outdoor dining and do great. I would prefer to visit all of the tables but did mind my manners when asked to do so. I was totally nonreactive to the other dining dogs. And I actually love to go for car rides so Let’s Go! I am polite and playful with other polite dogs and will disagree with pushy, “in your face” dogs that don’t heed my warnings. I’m super interested in wild bunnies and squirrels. So I’m not sure how I would do with cats or little dogs. I love treats and take them gently. Praise works when teaching me stuff too. I know my basics and am happy to continue to learn all of the new stuff you may want to teach me. I’m rather sensitive and don’t like yelling. Simple stern verbal corrections are more than enough for me if I’m doing something that needs correcting. I’m fine in a crate but my foster family lets me sleep free in the house since I have good house manners. My ideal home would be one with lots of activities I could participate in such as friends visiting, going on hikes, getting together for snacks on the patio, and even traveling. I’m quite the social butterfly. Other dogs in my new home must be respectful of my personal space & speak good dog. I’m a clear communicator and I expect other dogs to listen. I don’t need a dog sibling as I truly enjoy being with the humans. I also don’t need someone home 24/7 but I just really enjoy the company of people. Something you should know about me is that I am currently heartworm positive and am going through treatment. My new family must be willing to see me through the treatment, take me to vet appointments etc. I’m doing great and of course my new friends at BAGSR are covering the cost to make me better. They’ll be happy to provide you with the details of my treatment. I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Lodi. Hope to meet you! You like this dog...now what?
