Joey thanks you! Hi! I’m Joey. I’m a 6 month old boy GSD mix. I‘ll probably end up sort of big; there is a bit of Great Dane in my DNA. Check out my cool looking curly coat too!  I’m a sweet, friendly boy who will need an adopter who will spend time teaching me things and bringing me out and about to meet new people and experience new things. I can be rather silly and love to play in the water. I also enjoy playing and hanging out with other dogs. I currently live with another dog and we have a good time together. I have medium energy for a pup my age. I love squeaky toys and all kinds of chew toys. I would also be great at scent work and have a nice sized snout for that kind of thing-haha! Dog school would be great for me. I would learn so much in a group with other dogs and people. I am treat motivated! I keep a close eye on my people and I come when I'm called. I'm pretty good on leash too. I am fine in a crate and I also know to go potty outside. I have nice house manners and sleep free in the bedroom with my foster mom. Fun fact: I love a good belly rub and will try to sneak in bed with you for a cozy night’s sleep. I do well in the car too which is lucky since I will benefit from an active adopter who will show me new sights, introduce me to new people, and generally just share with me lots of fun adventures. I also will wait patiently in the car (weather permitting of course) if you have to run into a store. My foster mom thinks I am just amazing! She thinks I'm so special and unique and that someone will be very lucky to make me part of their family.  I hope you’d like to meet me! I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Oakland. Kassie thanks you! Hi! I’m Kassie. I’m a healthy, fit, 6 year old GSD and I‘m a petite 55 pounds. I am a sweet, elegant lady with one cute, floppy tipped ear. As is expected of us GSDs, I am aware of my surroundings and am very bright. I know lots of obedience and tricks. I’m treat motivated and would love to learn even more. I'm friendly, have an easy and generally calm demeanor, and have beautiful house manners too. I stay off the furniture and don’t take things that aren’t mine. Some of my favorite things to play with are balls and squeaky toys. I still get amped up when I see dogs when I’m out and about on leash but lots of leash walks and practice with a committed adopter will help me learn to consistently use good manners on leash. I'll need a new family who has experience with us GSDs and who will work with me on this.  I enjoy going to play groups and do great with other dogs. I haven’t met any cats but do like to chase squirrels. I will alarm bark when someone comes to the house but calm down quickly when I know the visitors are friends. I used to live in a home with toddlers and was gentle and kind. I love structure and like to know how the day is going to go so routine oriented people will be just right for me. I will make a lovely companion. I hope you’d like to meet me! I'll be waiting with my awesome foster fam in Grass Valley.   You like this dog...now what? Adopted on 7/10/2022. Hello! Lassen thanks you! Hello! My name is Lassen.  I have a thick fluffy red and black coat, and I weigh about 75 lbs.  I don’t actually know my exact age, but my vet says she thinks I’m about 5.   Everyone says I’m handsome even though I’m pretty stocky, and I have kind of a short and stubby nose.  I know from my pictures my eyes may look kind of sad to you, but believe me I’m really a very happy guy at heart!  I’m just a lot more low key than most German Shepherds.  So everyone who meets me says I’m just a “chill dude”, which is true! When I first came to my foster home, I was still pretty stressed out from the shelter. I also had some pretty bad seasonal allergies and a few other minor nasty health bugs.  But thanks to my foster family and my vet getting me on the right medications, I’m feeling a lot better now.  While I’m not a super active guy, I do like to play with people and other dogs.  But because I’m used to being the top dog around, I get along much better with female dogs than males.  So if you already have a younger (or older) female dog who needs a packmate, I could be your guy!  But I would also be happy being an only dog for the right person.  I’m not sure if I could live with a cat, but I have gotten along with some of the smaller dogs I’ve met with no problems. I haven’t had a lot of formal training, but I’m really good with basic stuff like come, sit down, and stay.  And I don’t mean to brag, but I’m about as easy a dog as you’ll meet when it comes to walking on a leash.  In fact, I really like getting out for a walk every day.  I mean, I may be low key, but I’m not lazy!  By the way, I’m also mostly housebroken and will let you know when I need to go out for a potty break.  But it’s a good idea to let me out frequently after meals and naps so I don’t have an accident.  Speaking of going out, I love being in the house with my people most of the time. But if you like hanging out in your yard sometimes, I’m there!  I also really like riding in the car, even if it’s just going out running errands.  Because I’m such a calm low key guy, you can pretty much take me with you out to any public place.  I am fully crate trained and enjoy having my quiet private time there.  My foster family even feeds me in my crate, which is pretty cool!  I also like hanging out in the evenings on a dog bed if you’re relaxing or watching TV.  And if you work from home, don’t be surprised if you find me snoozing under your desk during the day.  That’s just because I like to be close to my people whenever I can! So if you’re looking for a big hearty guy who is handsome and smart, but also a super laid back dude, check me out.  If you think I could be a good fit for you and your family, let the nice people a BAGSR know and they will set up a meet and greet for you. I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Folsom. You like this dog...now what? Please take 3-4 minutes and complete our application form at https://www.bayareagsr.org/adopt/3-adoption-application. Adopted on 9/16/2022. Luca is a sweetheart!  He's a handsome, (gets compliments from everyone) approx. 3 year old, black and red long coated fellow who loves attention from  people.  He's been good at ignoring the resident inside cat, showing almost no interest in her and hasn't shown any prey drive on the foster’s property.   He also ignores the neighbor's goats when walking past their pasture, even when they run. Luca has also met some pretty mean chihuahuas and has been completely unresponsive to their bad attitudes.  Sponsor Luca by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Luca’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Luca thanks you! Luca listens well and has good manners. He knows to "get back”, “wait”, “sit” and “lay down". He rides quietly in cars too. He takes treats VERY gently and is pretty easy on leash with only an occasional need for a gentle reminder to walk nicely.  Luca needs a calm home and surroundings. He's not a city dog and is uncomfortable around busy traffic noises. Luca will do best in a quieter setting and family home. Shopping and busy places are not his thing. He does love trails walks though.  Luca needs a home with another confident, medium energy dog that will enjoy playing with him (tug and some gentle wrestling for a bit). He absolutely loves the companionship of another dog!  He likes to play a bit with other dogs but he really loves his people. Luca will do best with a Shepherd/dog savvy owner who is gentle and low keyed but will step up and guide him into making good decisions about new people coming into the house and onto the property.    Luca has tons of personality and really wants to please. He's met several people easily and willingly, even giving kisses to new friends. He pays close attention to his people and makes great eye contact. He has beautiful house manners and loves to lay quietly with his family. You like this dog...now what? Though a short drive, he rode easily to his foster's house from the shelter.  And.... he LOVES belly rubs !!  Shelter staff even added that to his kennel evaluation!  Lync is a special fellow and someone will be very fortunate to choose him as their family dog...   Lync will be waiting in Auburn while we get to know him better.   You like this dog...now what? Adopted on 7/25/2022 Meet little Maddy. She just arrived at BAGSR and is settling in here in Santa Rosa. She’s a mal maybe mal mix and Swwwweeeeet as can be. She is desperate for attention but she isn’t clingy. She came from a very small holding facility that has 6 holding kennels and they are not open to the public. They hold dogs until they can be moved to a shelter - ANY shelter. This little one was headed to CCSPCA which is one scary place right now! She is very people and dog friendly. She is a little scared of other dogs but tries really hard. I picked about 2 dozen tiny ticks off her and she has some minor injuries to her face. She’s young, I would say just over a year, and has already had a litter. Her coat is dry and she needs some good nutrition. True to her breed, she is a bit mouthy but it’s gentle and she does jump up a bit but she’s very responsive to people so it spiny take too long to fix most of that. She walks well on a leash. We don’t know too much more at this point as we are just letting her decompress a bit. She will get spayed on the 11th and then to foster to heal and get ready for her new home.  More info as we learn…..oh, she climbs trees!! 7/17/22 - I have been fostering Maddy for almost a week.  Maddy is super engaging with people, good with all dogs she has met (on and off leash) and is good with kids. She melt right into people. Although she likes other dogs, people are her main focus and wants to be near them always. She learned my dog doors very quickly and goes outside to potty on her own. If she can't get out on her own and has to wait too long, she has pottied in the house, but that was my fault for leaving her too long. She is very quiet about telling you when she has to go out, but holds it as long as she can. She loves to lay on the sofa or a dog bed and is very calm when in the house. I walk her about 3 miles a day, which seems to be enough for her. We also play ball in the backyard a couple of times a day. I live by a lake and took her today with one of my dogs. I have been working on recall with her in my house and yard and she runs to me when I call for her.  I let her off leash at the lake and she did great! I called her back to me frequenly and she came back to me just about immediately. We met at least 20 dogs of all sizes at the lake and she was great with each and every one of them. I have not seen any indication of fence jumping or tree climbing. I have not let her have access to the yard when I'm not home because she wants to be with her person so much, I'm afraid she may try to get to me when I leave. I have crated her upon me leaving and she did try to get out of the crate. I let her loose in the house with my dogs and she did take the dog door flaps off trying to get out. She does seem to have a bit of separate anxiety, but should go away once she feels secure. Until then, I suggest a sturdy crate. She eats really well and sleeps quietly all night in my room on a dog bed next to my bed. She walks well on a leash/harness with a little pulling at first. She has shown no dog or people reactvity. Maddy knows "sit" and we're working on "stay". Her recall is good, especially for being so new to me. She will jump up when she first sees you, but we've been working on that so she is much better. She is not treat motivated, but affection is so I've been using affection as her reward. She is very senstive and would not do well with someone who yells at her. She needs a patient owner that does not yell or uses aversive training methods. They will wreck this sensitive and sweet dog!! Maddy is a fantasic dog! She is adorable, smart, affectionate, good with dogs, people and kids. She needs an owner to build up her confidence and continue with training. She does not like to be away from her person, so it will take time for her to feel confident. She would do fine with another dog, but mainly she wants to be around people. She needs an active person that will make her a big part of their life. I love this little girl. She is a gem!! She is on antibiotics for a tick born infection. She can't get spayed until she is finished with her antibiotics which is 8/1/22. show less

I’m quite the smarty pants. I’m excellent on leash and can walk and walk …..and walk. Not only can I walk for a long time, I am polite and non-reactive to other dogs along the way. I do show prey drive toward squirrels and cats but and am friendly with dogs and humans. I have nice house manners and get along well with my foster dog sibling. I weigh about 75 pounds.   Sponsor Marlo by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Marlo’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Marlo thanks you! I’m a social, friendly youngster. I love attention and pets and happily allow all over handing. I am calm and relaxed when meeting new dogs. I enjoy their company and am playful. I love a good game of chase and can be rambunctious when I have a dog friend with similar energy. My puppy energy may be a bit much for a fearful or shy dog. I currently live joyfully with another GSD and am quite fond of all of the neighbor dogs. Something you should know about me is that I know my basic obedience and am actually currently attending dog school! I’m fine on leash and walk with minimal pulling and I don’t bark or lunge at dogs passing by. I’m treat motivated which is helpful too. I still jump up in excitement sometimes but the humans are working with me on this. I don’t have particular interest in chasing small critters so I may be cat workable with proper introductions and coaching. I enjoy car rides so will happily go along with you wherever you go. I enjoy all kinds of toys too. My new friends say that I am a handsome, good natured young boy who's almost a blank slate. I have youthful energy and desire to learn so will need someone who will be active with me and teach me about the world. It will be important that my new family continues to teach me things and socialize me as I mature so that I keep my good manners and amiable demeanor as I grow up. My new friends also say that I will make a great family dog. But, due to my size and the fact that I still have some learning to do, for a family with kids, my adopter should be experienced in training and be committed to making sure I use good manners -ie no jumping! Adopted on 7/25/2022 Milo is a sweet, friendly 5-6 month old GSD puppy. He's a very happy, easy going pup and loves to approach everyone for some attention. He's friendly with all people and all dogs. He's about 45 lbs and appears to be a healthy boy. He was a stray in Fresno and jumped into the finders car in a shopping center parking lot when it was 105 degrees out. Very happy to be in a cool spot. The finder, a friend of mine that does rescue in the area, checked in all the nearby stores and posted at local shelter and social media and pup was not claimed. He was not chipped and no collar. He was held for the appropriate time for strays in that area. I was asked if I would take him shortly after he was found and I agreed and he came in about 3 weeks later. He appears to be a purebred GSD. Coat was soft and full, he was clean and happy. Still had a baby canine next to the adult canine. He is a bit puppy jumpy but very easily corrected. He came on a flight from Fresno and when he got off the plane he just walked out on the wing and looked around, jumped down and came right to me. He was not bothered by all the noisy airplanes coming and going and allowed me to pick him up and put him in my car. He looked out the window the whole drive to the kennel and was not the least be fearful. We took a few drives/walks and he was great. He walked right in to Tractor Supply without a care about the doors, the floor, all the noise and commotion and immediately started saying hello to everyone that walked by. If someone stopped to pet him, he just snuggled into them for pets. Very nice puppy!   show less

Adopter 10/20/2022. Meet Mister Mister is a very affectionate dog who at one time had a very nice owner who trained him well. Unfortunately, he is afraid of abandonment and suffers from separation anxiety. He enjoys playing fetch at least when it's not too hot. He really enjoys being brushed and does not mind having his nails clipped. He loves chasing squirrels and could watch them for hours and sometimes he does. He's great with small and big dogs as long as they're neutered. He does not appreciate unneutered males. He has a very good bark and will let you know if anybody gets near the front door or your fence. Unfortunately, he can also jump your fence. Once he gets used to being somewhere though he doesn't seem to want to jump the fence anymore he just wants to be wanted by someone. He is currently on medication for the separation anxiety but that only cost about $6 per month. He takes it very nicely in a pill pocket that I just toss in his food bowl. He is neutered, house broken, microchipped, heartworm negative, vaccinated and his adoption fee is $300. This is a courtesy post for Little Paws Doggie Rescue in Sacramento. Adopted on 9/4/2022 Hi! I’m Ragnar. I'm a 9 month old boy GSD mix. I have a sweet and affectionate demeanor and am silly and playful. Sponsor Ragnar by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Ragnar’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Ragnar thanks you! I’m a bit on the shy side and can take time to warm up to new people and dogs. And sometimes I’m timid in new situations. All of this is just because I really haven’t had the socialization that a youngster like me needs. I’m pretty good in the house and don’t usually get into trouble. I’m a pup though and may chew on things if left unattended. I do love my own toys though. I’m housebroken and crate trained and sleep quietly in my crate at night. I will alarm bark when someone comes to the house. I’m great in the car and love going for adventures. I would be a super pal around dog. I currenlty live with teenagers and I love playing with them.  I especially love hiking and playing in water. I love to splash around and get wet. Balls, chew toys and stuffies are great too. My jolly ball is my favorite toy.   I’m pretty energetic so I would love an active family that can provide me with the mental and physical exercise that a boy my age needs. I do settle down nicely and love to hang out with my people. Once I get used to a new dog I love to play. I even have some dog friends that I see regularly and play nicely with. When I meet new dogs I still will bark at first; meeting new dogs is still new to me. Right now, a dog park would be way too overwhelming and I wouldn’t like it at all. I haven’t learned many obedience skills yet but I’m really good on leash. I’m very responsive and eager to please so I will be a great student for sure. Something you should know about me though is that I will need an adopter who will be careful and patient with me bringing me into new situations and environments. A controlled environment like group training would be good; but dog parks not so much. My owners must be good at "reading the room" and making sure I feel safe.  My foster mom thinks it’s funny when I howl at sirens and she doesn’t mind at all when I patrol and protect the yard from squirrels and birds.  My foster mom says that I’m a sweet boy and with some training and socialization will be an amazing companion for my person! Adopted on 8/10/2022.  Sabrina is a gorgeous German Shepherd gal. She is approximately 4 months old and weighs in at 31 pounds. She has big feet and ears to grow into and Sabrina will likely be a big girl as an adult.  She has a sweet, playful personality, gets on great with other dogs and loves to meet new people.  Sponsor Sabrina by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Sabrina’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Sabrina thanks you! She walks perfectly on leash and loves car rides and even baths!  Her favorite toys are tennis balls and any toy one of her housemates is playing with. She does not mind sharing her toys or food with her housemates either.  She is pretty mellow for a puppy, plenty of energy for play and walks but then settles down while her foster mom works from home. She sleeps quietly in a crate at night and potty training is coming along really well. She has “sit” nailed, and we are working on not barking at the cats and goats.  She also responds well to “leave it”. Sabrina is a fantastic pup. She’s kind of quirky and truly likes the finer things in life. She will totally seek out the softest pillow or the most comfortable bed to sleep in at all times! She truly does love her foster dog sibling and enjoys playing with her. She loves belly rubs and snuggling! Sabrina is waiting with her foster mom in Pismo Beach. You like this dog...now what? Adopted 10/12/2022. Hi! I’m Samson. I’m a 2 and a half year old boy GSD and weigh 85 pounds. My personality is also quite big! Sponsor Samson by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Samson’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Samson thanks you! I’m confident and eager to please. I’ll make a super companion as I completely engage with my people and I’m really fun to take out and about. I love to ride in the car and will secure that front seat next to you and ride shotgun if you let me. I want a spot where I can get the best view out of the front window. I love water and I’ll seek out swimming pools and fountains so I can get wet. I like other dogs but can be a bit forward when meeting them and I’ll need some work in this area so I learn how to meet dogs calmly and respectfully; many dogs will think I’m being rude and may be offended by my greeting style. I don’t have much of a prey drive and may be ok with cats. I’ll require an adopter who will ensure that I get the appropriate amount of exercise for a youngster like me and who can provide leadership and continued training. I can be a bit mouthy when I get overstimulated and need reminders that this behavior is not ok. I am super receptive to guidance and training and am happy to do what you ask. Just need someone who knows us GSDs and who will consistently show me the way. Trust me! It will be worth it and we will be BFFs. I already know lots of the basics: sit, down, paw, come…and I’m sure I would enjoy group training. I do well on leash and pass other dogs politely for the most part. However, if another dog gives me the hairy eyeball, I just may bark at him. I will be a joy to work with. My foster mom says I just “get it.” She also says that I will be an exceptional partner for a GSD enthusiast who will find just as much joy as I do in doing things together. One more thing that she says that I don't like to just come right out with is that I am absolutely stunning and that photos don't do me justice. It's kind of embarrasing but that's what she says! Because I’m a big boy who still needs training, my friends think that a household without small children would be best. Dog savvy respectful teens would be fine though. If you’d like to meet me, I’ll be waiting in Santa Rosa. You like this dog...now what? Adopted 9/26/2022. Sasha is a 10 year old sweetheart with kind, beautiful brown eyes and soft sable coat. Unfortunately she was returned to rescue. She was adopted 3 years ago but her dad has severe medical issues and cannot take care of her anymore. It's sad but it happens.  Sponsor Sasha by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Sasha’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Sasha thanks you! Even though Sasha is 10, she's still very active. She trots nicely, loves to chew on bones, and is perfect at leash walking; she is a dream to walk. She loves to follow her people around the house and yard. Talk about a really good girl! She is respected in the pack at her foster home. She gets along with all dogs and has seen a few horses up close with no reaction. She still likes to play. Sasha is healthy but she does need to lose some weight. Nice cool walks will allow her to lose that extra weight and strengthen her legs. After a stroll, she loves laying by her people's side. She will really benefit from a high quality diet. Sasha will be waiting with her fabulous foster family in Newcastle. You like this dog...now what?  Adopted on 10/27/2022. Hi! I’m Sparky. I’m a 1 year old GSD possibly mixed with Belgian Malinois. Sponsor Sparky by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Sparky’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Sparky thanks you! I was found in a park in Sacramento and some good Samaritans took me in and contacted my new friends at BAGSR. I’ve had some time to settle in and was looked over by the dog doc. I’m now ready to find my very own forever family. I’m friendly and have attached myself (like with glue) to my foster dad and will bond hard with my adopter too. I'm an affable boy and have a sweet demeanor. I am an energetic youngster and will love living with active humans. I’ll need someone who can provide me with guidance and training plus physical and mental stimulation. Once I’ve had my fill, I settle down nicely and will snooze next to you on the couch. I’m still getting used to indoor living and really don’t like to be sent outside alone. I know to go out to the yard for potty and have pretty good house manners. I will occasionally swipe unattended food though….I still have some things to learn. Not that it’s OK to steal food but my fosters understand. I was found in the park really thin and have been eating with gusto to make up for lost calories. I sure enjoy my food and my food bowl! I like toys and love my foster brother. I get along famously with other dogs. I meet them appropriately, am playful with them and enjoy their company. Given my easy-going demeanor, as suspected, I met some cats and did GREAT. I would do well as an only dog or with another dog or cat - of course proper introductions are a must. As an only dog, I would need an adopter who will spend extra time with me as I so adore being with my family. I do ok in a crate and will go in willingly but boy do I get excited when I know it’s time to come out. My foster mom and dad have been letting me sleep free in the bedroom and I do great. Not a peep out of me all night.  My foster fam says I’m affectionate and like to cuddle. I allow all over handling and did great with the vet. Something you should know about me is that I am a good listener and am eager to please. I also like treats and take them gently. In true GSD fashion I alarm bark when someone comes to the house or yard. My favorite toys are stuffies. I walk pretty well on leash and am learning my basics quickly. Like most of us youngsters, I will benefit from training and I will be a joy to work with because I will do what you ask as long as I understand. I’m also always willing to get in the car and go. My ideal family will one that can spend lots of time doing fun things with me and my foster fam says I will make a terrific family pet. I’ll be waiting with my super cool foster family in Sacramento. Adopted on 7/26/2022. "Teddy Bear" is a gorgeous cream and black coat male of about 3 years. He’s at a perfect body weight of 74# and is learning that a perfect life includes living in a house.   Sponsor Teddy Bear by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Teddy’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Teddy thanks you! Nothing makes "Teddy Bear" happier than being with his person;  24x7 would suit him just fine. Perhaps that would change somewhat if he gets a doggie best friend. For now, he likes going to the home office with his foster mom to hang out while she works at the computer and on Zoom calls. He does not disrupt work but recognizes her break times when there are often mini training sessions with treats!   Yes, he is very food motivated and takes treats gently which makes training easy. Initially he didn’t recognize any obedience commands but he wants to please. He now has the basics of "come", "sit", "down", "house", "car", and his release word “ok”.  While he knows the concept of "stay" he tries to decide when he's done staying rather than waiting to be released, so we're working on that. He's just been introduced to "take it" and "leave it". He has shown inclination to counter surf and put paws on the table which are corrected at each occurrence. With multiple mini-training sessions each day which he loves, his obedience is rapidly advancing. “Teddy Bear” is house-trained and is learning to potty on command.  He has not marked in the house or in a store. He loves car rides. "Teddy Bear" rides loose in the back seat of a sedan where he quickly settles and doesn't disrupt the driver.  He's been left alone in the car for brief (test) periods with no barking or anxiety noted. He gets anxious going through automatic doors and seeing his reflection in glass. He seems to be crate-trained. He loves to go on long walks but walking on a loose leash needs work. He often breaks "heel" position to check out all the smells or to accelerate the pace. Perhaps he could be a running companion when he masters staying in his lane. He would benefit greatly from structured obedience training classes. Since he wants to please, he will do well. A playful and energetic personality is starting to emerge. Adopted on 6/19/2022. Hi! I’m Willow! I’m a 3 year old female GSD with classic black and tan markings and lithe athletic build. My foster mom says the black coloring around my big beautiful eyes makes it look like I’m wearing mascara.   Sponsor Willow by clicking here, Your name will appear on this page as Willow’s sponsor and your donation will help pay for food and medical expenses. Willow thanks you! My foster mom says the black coloring around my big beautiful eyes makes it look like I’m wearing mascara and I take that as a compliment! I’m ready to find a forever family that will reciprocate all the love I have to give (which is a LOT). Because of my outgoing personality and my naturally high activity level, I like to play and exercise like a much younger dog. So I’m looking for an active family that will get out on walks and play with me a lot. I’ve made dog friends all around the neighborhood and on pack walks. I get along fine with most other dogs that I meet. In fact, I’ve been having play dates every week over at the neighbor’s house with their big male German Shepherd and we always have a blast together! So I’d probably fit right in if you have a slightly older (or younger) male dog in your home already. I can tell you one thing, we would keep each other plenty busy, LOL! Everyone who meets me is surprised at how loving and affectionate I am. I guess that because I seem so active and crazy playful at times! But I really like meeting new people as long as I have a proper introduction to them. I also like most children too as long as they are respectful. I have previously lived with kids around ages 8 – 10. But with my natural exuberance, I may be a little much for kids younger than that. I’ve never lived with a cat before, but I wouldn’t rule it out if I got the right kind of introduction. I can still be a little protective, but I’ve really tried to work on that since living with my current foster family. They say I’m “making good progress” whatever that means. Now, about this whole walking thig. I really do love going for leash walks around the neighborhood. It’s just that I get so excited when we leave the house with all the other dogs that I can get a little yarpy until I calm down after a block or two. But don’t worry, as long as you’re patient I’ll continue to work on being better.I really like going for rides in the car, but I’m not a big window sniffer like the other dogs in my foster pack. I’d much prefer to just lay down in the back of the car and chill until we get where we’re going. Speaking of destinations, I really like going places like Lowes and PetSmart because everyone fawns over me and wants to meet me. I don’t mean to sound like a diva, but it’s kind of nice to be reminded that you’re special by total strangers!I have already learned some basic obedience commands like “sit” and “down”. I just need more one on one work and practice to learn more. Actually I wouldn’t mind being enrolled in an obedience training classes to help me learn more manners. Just think, you and me going to class together, learning everything and bonding, how cool would that be?I definitely like to play with some toys, especially rope tugs and things I can chew on like Nylabones. I think I’ve almost got this housebroken figured out. But I was more of an outside dog in my old home, so don’t get mad at me if I have an accident. Just remember to let me out from time to time and I won’t leave a mess for you! And this will get better with time for sure. While I am a very active and busy girl, I do know how to enjoy a quiet moment and how to chill out at the end of the day. And don’t worry about me fussing at night, or barking to get you up early. I am fully crate trained and go to down easy at bedtime. And honestly, I really don’t mind sleeping in a little some days! So, if you’re looking for a fun, sweet, active girl, I may just be your perfect match. I’ll be waiting with my foster family in Folsom.   You like this dog...now what?
