Meet Valka! If we could only choose one phrase to describe this goofy girl, “young at heart” would be the one. While Valka is just over a year old, she is still very much a puppy! This active and agile girl loves to play – whether it be fetch, tug-of-war, or wrestling with her, (much larger), foster brothers, Valka has no fear when it comes to fun. She even loves car rides and would make for an excellent hiking buddy! In addition to her good-time mentality, Valka has also proven herself to be incredibly smart, as she has already mastered a few basic commands and has great recall. To top it all off, at the end of an activity-filled day, her favorite spot is right next to her humans, where she can snuggle up, relax, and lean into her affectionate side. (We’ve even been told that she prefers to be the big spoon!)  BONUS: Valka is fully potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night! Great With: Dogs, dog-savvy cats, and kids! Ideal Home: A loving family or individual ready to provide exercise, training, and lots of cuddles to help her continue blossoming into her best self! If you’re looking for a smart, loving, and eager-to-please companion, Valka is your girl!   At Path of Hope Rescue, we understand that “Fur-st Impressions” are very important! Meet June! Unlike most puppies, you will not find June running about, looking for something nefarious to get into, or a shoe to chew. Alternatively, you will most likely find this laid-back lady in a big, cozy chair, curled up for a nap! While she does enjoy some time outside to explore and play, June’s favorite pastimes are stealing squeaky toys from her siblings, cuddling, and conking out on the couch. Ultimately, all this timid girl really wants is a home where she feels safe, a few toys to call her own, and a huggable human to snuggle with. Meet Hufflepuff! Both loving and loyal, Hufflepuff is a true representation of her Hogwarts house. That being said, a more accurate name for this sweet girl would be Snugglebug, as she has become known for her serious love of cuddles and naps. Outside of being a professional snoozer, this petite pup is also playful and spirited. Her ideal day would most likely include a safe space to run for her spontaneous zoomies, gentle play-time in the form of soft toys and silly games, a touch of training that includes lots of treats accompanied by praise, all followed by a sunny afternoon siesta on a soft blanket.  BONUS: Hufflepuff is already fully potty and crate trained, and is sleeping through the night! Great With: Other dogs, dog-savvy cats, and older kids! Ideal Home: Hufflepuff’s ideal home would be a calm, loving environment with people who appreciate her gentle nature and playful spirit. She’s happiest when someone is nearby — whether it’s curling up on the couch, or simply trotting alongside you from room to room. She thrives on predictable routines, cozy corners, and lots of snuggle time, as long as it’s combined with kindness, patience, and affection. Meet Astrid – Your Loyal Viking Companion! Astrid is a goofy girl with boundless energy! She loves to show off her sleek, shiny black coat by zooming around the yard, but is equally as happy when she is chomping away on a toy inside. Despite always being down to romp around and play, Astrid still enjoys a good snuggle-sesh, but also understands that having some alone time is healthy and is content sleeping alone in her kennel. This little dragon-slayer-in-training is still looking for her forever home, where she can continue her journey of bravery and love. Astrid thrives when she’s by your side—whether curled under your feet, napping on your lap, or softly keeping watch over the tiniest humans (she adores babies!). Her Quests So Far: ✔ Crate trained (though she’d much rather share your bed 🛏️💤) ✔ Almost potty trained (a few more battles to win, but she’s so close!) ✔ Gentle with cats (no feline foes here!) ✔ Learning confidence around big dogs (a wise mentor dog would be perfect for her!) The Ideal Home for Astrid: A patient, calm family who’ll gently challenge her to step out of her shell. Bonus if there’s a confident dog to guide her or a cozy baby to snuggle near! A home where she can be your loyal sidekick—whether you’re reading, relaxing, or plotting adventures. Astrid may not ride dragons (yet!), but she’ll fill your days with quiet devotion, warm cuddles, and the occasional shy tail wag. If you’re ready to help this sweet Viking pup conquer her fears and flourish, Astrid is ready to pledge her loyalty to you! Meet Jewel! Though she may only be 35 pounds, this lady’s large personality is truly dazzling! Great with adults and kids of all ages, Jewel is always excited to meet new people when she is out and about, and can’t wait to greet them with kisses. Some of her favorite pastimes are playing chase and getting her zoomies out at the dog park, but is also just as content playing with her toys at home or even snuggling up on the couch to people-watch after a fun, active day. Though she is still learning, Jewel has already mastered a few basic commands, and continues to work on her recall, as she can sometimes get distracted by all of the adorable, small critters that live outside. In addition to getting lots of time to play, Jewel thrives on daily walks and getting the opportunity to put her super-sniffer to work at every nook and cranny, as she is very curious and lives to explore the world around her. So much so, in fact, that she’s even taught herself a few magic tricks, such as squeezing through loose fence boards or slipping out of her collar. While Jewel does love time outside to adventure, she can get a bit loud and sassy when she spots unfamiliar dogs, and isn’t afraid to let them know that she means business, (even though we all know she’s all talk).  BONUS: Jewel is fully potty trained, crate trained, and sleeps through the night! Great With: Other dogs and kids! Ideal Home: Jewel’s ideal home would be with an active family or individual, (potentially with a canine-companion!), eager to provide training, enrichment, and take her on adventures! Jewel does best with some sort of daily movement, such as walks, running, hiking, or even swimming, and would love a buddy she can play with throughout the day, as she prefers not to be left alone for too long.  This girl rings true to her name, and truly is a gem of only the finest qualities! If you’re looking for a social, curious, and affectionate companion, Jewel is the girl for you!   At Path of Hope Rescue, we understand that “Fur-st Impressions” are very important, and that when a dog, (like Jewel), has been available for awhile, potential adopters start to wonder, "what is wrong with this dog?", and question if they have behavior issues or have been poorly socialized. Meet Poison! Though she may be little, this girl is certainly fierce! What she currently lacks in size, Poison makes up for in her larger-than-life personality, packing a serious punch of pure fun. This tough girl loves a good rough-and-tumble with her, (much larger), foster fur-siblings, and isn’t afraid to tell them who’s boss. Aside from showing off her pro-wrestling moves, Poison also enjoys playing with her toys, car rides, a good snuggle sesh, and protecting her foster family from her arch nemesis: the vacuum.   BONUS: While Poison is still working on potty-training, she is already crate trained and sleeping through the night! Great With: Other dogs, cats, and kids! Ideal Home: Poison’s perfect home would be a loving family or individual, (potentially with other canine-companions!) that is willing and eager to provide plenty of play-time, mental enrichment, and additional training to help her blossom into her best self! While she gets along with kids of all ages, Poison does still have a tendency to nip when she is excited, so a home with older kids would be ideal.  If you’re looking for a sassy, smart, and confident companion, Poison is your girl!   What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Meet Iron Maiden!   While this girl may not have spikes, Iron Maiden does still have her puppy teeth, which if you as us are close enough. Currently, her favorite way to use them is for intense games of tug, usually with people’s socks or the garden hose. That being said, tug isn’t the only thing she likes to use those chompers for! This sassy gal is also highly food motivated, and with some time, (and lots of treats), we think she can be convinced to opt for more appropriate tug-of-war victims. In addition to a good ‘ole game of back-and-forth, Iron Maiden also loves going on play-dates with other pups, and getting the chance to hone her paw-to-paw combat skills. After a long day of “training”, don’t be surprised if she nap-traps you by sneaking in a snuggle-sesh, as cuddles are a requirement for her recovery.    BONUS: Since she is still quite young, Iron Maiden is currently working on being potty trained, but she is already crate trained, and sleeping through the night! Great With: Other dogs, cats, and kids! Ideal Home: Iron Maiden would do well in most homes, as she is very “go-with-the-flow”, but would thrive in a home of a loving family or individual, (potentially with a canine sibling) that is ready to provide training, enrichment, and copious amounts of cuddles to help her continue blossoming into her best self! Meet March! With this incredibly sweet and brave boy, you’ll quickly find that March believes in giving kisses on the first date. Meet Heidi – A Clever Companion Looking for Her Person Born on March 30, 2023, Heidi is a smart, thoughtful girl who’s looking for her person - the one she can bond with deeply and explore the world beside. She may be a little reserved at first, but once she knows she’s safe, her loyal and affectionate side shines through. Heidi is highly intelligent and picks up on routines quickly. She thrives in a home with structure, consistency, and someone who enjoys engaging her mind as much as her heart. She’s playful and funny once she’s comfortable, and she loves having a purpose - whether it’s adventuring outside, learning something new, or just being your steady shadow. Heidi can be a bit cautious with new people or environments, so she’ll need an adopter who can be patient during that initial adjustment period. But for the right person, Heidi is the kind of dog who becomes deeply devoted. Her ideal home includes an active adopter who enjoys walks, hikes, and quality one-on-one time. She may prefer being the only dog or matched with a calm, respectful canine companion. With the right fit, Heidi will absolutely blossom. If you're looking for a loyal, clever, and heart-forward companion who just needs a little time to trust, Heidi might be your perfect match.   At Path of Hope Rescue, we understand that “Fur-st Impressions” are very important! To see if Heidi would be the perfect fit for you and your family, schedule a meet and greet before applying by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com. (A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Heidi’s adoption.)     What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Meet Light Fury! This gentlelady is known for being calm, cuddly, and quietly playful. She’s the kind of gal who enjoys playing with toys on her own as much as she enjoys playing with her siblings. In addition to knowing when to use her inside voice, she’s already on her way to mastering a few basic commands – her food-loving nature making training a breeze! When all is said and done and the day is over, you won’t find this girl putting up a fuss at bedtime. She’ll happily settle into her crate on her own, or better yet, into your lap for a good snuggle-sesh.  BONUS: While she’s still in the process of being potty trained, Light Fury is fully crate trained, and already sleeping through the night! Great With: Dogs, dog-savvy cats, and kids! Ideal Home: A loving family or individual ready to provide exercise, training, mental stimulation, and love to help her continue blossoming into her best self! If you’re looking for a smart, loving, and cuddly companion, Light Fury is your girl!   What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days.
