Have you been thinking about adopting an adventure partner but don’t want all the work of a puppy? Ashton may be just what you are looking for. At 55 pounds and about 1-1/2 years old, Ashton is the perfect size and age to go with you on whatever adventures you have planned. Hiking (check). Leash walks (check). Off-leash and recall (training in progress and doing great!) Chasing chickens/ducks (check)…ummm….well probably best if you don’t plan that activity. He likes this a little bit too much… Ashton’s idea of a good play date is meeting up with a few trusted dog friends. He’s not a social butterfly, and a crowded off-leash dog park isn’t his idea of a good time. He is happier being around his people than staying at home by himself in a crate. If you have a job that would let you bring him along sometimes, that would make his day. Ashton came to Path of Hope last summer, all the way from Amarillo, Texas. Since then, he has been hanging out with his foster family and learning all the important things about being a family dog. He has basic obedience training, leash walking, potty training, and crate training. He is a good guard dog and an amazing construction site supervisor. In his spare time he uses every charming dog tactic to snuggle his way into your bed (hey, it doesn’t hurt to ask, right?). He is a smart boy that just wants to please his people. With this combination, you can teach him anything. He’s enjoyed his time with his foster family, but he is so ready to find his forever family. Is that family you? He is accepting applications for his new family. Apply today to meet him. ***Ashton is located in a foster home in the Spokane, WA area.
