Born in December of 2020, Manchester (aka Manny) is a male Shepherd mix (best guess). He is a large dog at about 65 lbs, fully grown. He is a medium-high energy dog that will need plenty of activity and enrichment. Good with other dogs, strangers, and teenagers. This pup loves car rides, toys, and playing ball. In fact, if you throw a ball for him, he will be your best friend for life. Ideally, his new home would have another dog or an active person to keep him moving. He bonds fiercely to his human and trusts a strong leader who will take care of anything. His natural protection instinct (without the uncontrollable impulses) makes him an ideal dog for a strong female leader who wants to feel protected in the world. His new owner will be rewarded with one of the most loyal dogs ever. This kid was rescued from an extreme hoarding situation in Houston at 4 weeks of age. Volunteers from Path of Hope Rescue drove from Spokane to Texas and back to get him to safety. His brother, Sheffield, was lost due to the horrific conditions in which they were raised. Manny was adopted as a puppy but developed a bad habit of inappropriately using his growl to communicate his dislikes. It was deemed that he was in the wrong household for him, and joined “boot camp” to learn some better behaviors. He is a smart boy and has quickly learned that it is OK to tell humans when he is uncomfortable and how to do it, so he can thrive as his best, playful self. In his new home, he will need to continue to work on being a good boy and needs a strong leader to show him the way. Neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, fully potty trained, walks perfectly on a leash, sleeps all night, and can be left alone, he is a reformed dog! He can be crated but does not need to be. Not being very food motivated, an alternate training method will be necessary. At Path of Hope Rescue we strive to decrease the euthanasia rate of high-risk dogs in the southern United States by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes. We are 100% foster based and rely on volunteers and fosters to help in our mission. Our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Adoption fee: $450-$550. Path of Hope Rescue is located and based out of Spokane, WA. Adopters may choose to travel to Spokane to pick up their dog or use our monthly transport option to your local area for an additional delivery surcharge of $250. Please visit https://www.pathofhoperescue.com/ for more information about our organization and the adoption process. We will choose the most suitable home for each dog, not the first application received. If the dog you are applying for is adopted, we have hella good matchmakers that will help you find your perfect new four-legged family member. Since the dogs that come up the Path of Hope are rescues, not much is known about them. Therefore breed and adult sizes are our best guesses and we cannot guarantee this information is accurate.
