Simply meant to be … with you! Meet Jack Skellington! Jack Skellington is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We are currently taking applications for Jack Skellington, and he will be able to go home with an adopter after his neuter surgery in mid-December. “My dearest friend, if you don’t mind, I’d like to join you by your side…” (Jack Skellington) Sweet, funny, and furry, our Jack Skellington would like to join you by your side! Born on October 25, 2024, Jack Skellington is a young tawny colored puppy with a distinctive white blaze on his face. We guess he is a labrador mix who will be in the 40-60 lb. range when grown (mama is quite petite). Part of the Nightmare Before Christmas litter, he traveled with his mom and four siblings from the Del Rio Animal Shelter in Texas to find new homes in the PNW area.  Playful and active, Jack Skellington is quieter and more independent than his siblings. He doesn’t bark or cry, and he is equally content to sleep on his own (dreaming of his meant to be!) or snuggle up as part of the puppy pile. However, Jack Skellington prefers to romp with one of his siblings rather than play with toys on his own; it is much more fun to engage with a friend. When he has had enough of playtime, affectionate, snuggle Jack Skellington is happiest cuddling or curling up along your neck.  Jack Skellington is a very young puppy and is settling into a foster home with his mother and siblings. He has started potty training and will soon begin leash and obedience training. In the meantime, Jack Skellington is spending his days getting lots of cuddles, playtime, love, and new adventures with his foster family and growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for his new home.  Jack Skellington’s ideal home? He seeks someone to love who will love him in return and will ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Jack Skellington would do well in a home with kids, dogs, and cats; lots of cuddles, play, and activity would make him the happiest of pups. Simply meant to be! Meet Sally! Sally is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). “What a joy to think of all we’ll have in common. We’ll have conversations worth having.” (Sally) Delightful Sally yearns to have worthwhile conversations with you! Born October 25, 2024, this sweet girl is a young fawn/brown colored puppy with white blaze markings. We guess she is a labrador mix and will be in the 40-60 lb. range when grown. Part of the Nightmare Before Christmas litter, she traveled with her mom and four siblings from the Del Rio Animal Shelter in Texas to find new homes in the PNW area. Friendly and exuberant, Sally is the first one to greet her foster family, eagerly bouncing up for attention. She has a lot to share with you (Sally wants to share her day and hear about yours) and is one of the most active puppies. Sally encourages the others to wrestle and romp with her, then loves to seek out people for cuddles. Sally is a very young puppy and settling into a foster home with her mother and siblings. Small but Mighty! Meet Clark Griswold! Clark Griswold is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Born on October 14, 2024, handsome Clark Griswold is a young black and tan colored Australian kelpie mix puppy with lighter facial markings and legs. We estimate he will be a medium size dog when grown. Clark Griswold is part of the Christmas Vacation litter, and he traveled with his mom and seven siblings from the Bi-Stone Rescue in Mexia, Texas to find new homes in the PNW area. Friendly, affectionate and gentle, Clark Griswold may be the smallest of the Christmas Vacation pups, but he thinks he is a big as the rest of the pack. A lower energy puppy, he enjoys tug of war, and he will eagerly take on littermates who are 30% larger than he is! However, he isn’t as rambunctious as they are, and if the game gets too rough for his liking, he will go find a lap or a comfy place to sit out the shenanigans.  Clark Griswold enjoys the company of other dogs and children; he especially likes anyone who will cuddle with him. Snuggling with you is Clark Griswold’s absolute favorite thing to do. He will settle in for a cuddle, giving little kisses before he falls asleep, and stay there contentedly until you decide you need to move. This former Texas dog turned WA couch potato misses the warmth, and he values people for their body heat as well as their quality companionship. Clark Griswold is a very young puppy and has started his training. He will spend a few hours at a time in his crate, and he has begun potty training. When he is old enough, he will begin walking on a leash and learning basic obedience.   Clark Griswold’s ideal home? He seeks someone to love who will love him in return and will ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Clark would do well in a home with kids, dogs, and cats; lots of cuddles, play, and activity would make him the happiest of pups. A warm place to snuggle, a person to cuddle with. A lover, not a fighter Meet Cousin Eddie! Cousin Eddie is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Born on October 14, 2024, handsome Cousin Eddie is a young chocolate brown and tan colored Australian kelpie mix puppy with lighter facial markings. Affectionate and reserved, he doesn’t indulge in the same brawling antics as his siblings, but boy, does he love to snuggle! While Cousin Eddie is an active puppy, he is not a fan of the rough and tumble play his littermates enjoy. He prefers to sit out the rambunctious stuff and helps his foster while she works from home. Inquisitive and attentive, Cousin Eddie is an excellent co-worker who won’t drink the last of the coffee and not make a fresh pot.  Cousin Eddie is a very young puppy and is settling into a foster home with his mother and siblings. A Sweet and Mellow Girl Meet Ellen Griswold! Ellen Griswold is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Born on October 14, 2024, sweet Ellen Griswold is a young black and tan colored Australian kelpie puppy with lighter eyebrow markings. We estimate she will be a medium size dog when grown. Ellen Griswold is part of the Christmas Vacation litter, and she traveled with her mom and seven siblings from the Bi-Stone Rescue in Mexia, Texas to find new homes in the PNW area. We are currently taking applications for Ellen Griswold, and she will be able to go home with an adopter after her spay surgery in mid-December. Curious, active, and funny, Ellen Griswold has recently discovered toys, and she is a huge fan. She enjoys sneaking up on them and pouncing before playing with her victim. When not stalking squeaky toys, Ellen Griswold enjoys gentle play with her siblings (she’s calmer than most of the others). She takes confidence from being amid her littermates, but she doesn’t want to get run over when they start in with the rambunctiousness. Ellen Griswold tends to observe the situation around her, take the temperature of the room, and then leap into the fray. After some play, this sweet, affectionate girl is game for snuggles.  Ellen Griswold is a very young puppy and is settling into a foster home with her mother and siblings. Little pup, Big spirit! Meet Denim! Denim is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We are currently taking applications for Denim, and she will be able to go home with an adopter after her spay surgery on or about November 19, 2024. Denim is a young female, mixed breed puppy with a soft coat in shades of fawn and tan with a darker muzzle and warm, soulful chocolate eyes. One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Denim journeyed from an animal shelter in Del Rio, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. She’s already a seasoned traveler, having flown here courtesy of Dog is My Co-Pilot.  Independent, curious and playful, Denim likes to explore new things and chew on everything. She finds the world so interesting! Denim likes to romp with the other dogs in the home and has done well with the resident cats. Though she is a small, gentle pup, Denim thinks she is a big girl and prefers not to be held like a baby. She has too much investigating to do for that. Denim isn’t too fond of the colder weather she has encountered here (snow will be a big surprise for her). Denim loves her treats, and food is definitely the way to her heart.  Born in mid-August, Denim is learning new skills quickly. She is progressing through her potty training and sleeps through the night. She spends several hours at a time in her crate quietly, and she will begin leash and obedience training soon (which we predict will be a new favorite activity for her when she figures out there are treats involved). Denim’s ideal home? Denim seeks a home where she can love and be loved in return, where she will be treated as the large dog she imagines she is and not the purse pup she might be in reality. Other dogs, cats and kids would be lovely.  If this sounds like your house, Denim might be the one for you! Want to meet Denim? A pup who thinks he is a cat … Meet Azriel! Azriel is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Azriel is a mixed breed puppy with black fur, mottled black and white markings on his chest, and sweet brown eyes. We estimate he will be a medium size dog when full grown. Part of our Court of Dreams litter, Azriel and his eight siblings were discovered in a cardboard box, turned in to a Texas shelter, and scheduled for euthanasia. We were able to save them all (thank you, fosters!) and transport them here to find new homes in the PNW area. While he isn’t the shadowy, enigmatic figure his literary namesake is, our Azriel shares the character’s loyal, protective, and generous nature towards those he considers family. Friendly, affectionate, and gentle, Azriel does a fantastic impression of a cat. This pup loves to be with a person, and he will always try to climb up into your lap. We aren’t sure if he is seeking quality companionship or body heat, but it is sweet and endearing. With his short fur, Azriel finds our PNW weather to be more than a little on the chilly side, so blankets and warm places to nestle are top of his list. He has a sweater to help with the cold, and this pup will be thrilled when summer rolls around. Once he feels warm, Azriel’s playful nature emerges. He enjoys running about and playing but must stop for some quick love from you before returning to his romping. Azriel likes to explore and engage his brain. A social pup, he quickly made friends when he went to a temporary foster over the holidays and settled into his new pack with aplomb. Azriel is curious about new things and friendly to new people, and he adores chew toys and puzzles to find food. Food might be his third favorite thing, after people and warmth. Azriel is interested in what you are doing and fascinated by the world around him. Having flown to Washington in an airplane, he is comfortable travelling and likes riding shotgun when out for drives. Born in mid-July, Azriel is a young puppy but is learning quickly. He has progressed rapidly through his potty training (getting back in the warm house is a big incentive) and spends several hours at a time in his crate (though he prefers a warm comfy lap). He is starting leash and obedience training and has good recall skills when called. Azriel’s ideal home? He seeks someone to love who will love him in return. If you have warm blankets and like to snuggle, then that checks all the boxes for Azriel. He would do fine in a home with kids, dogs or cats, and he would love treats, toys and food puzzles. Nothing drab about this girl! Meet Olive! Olive is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We are currently taking applications for Olive, and she will be able to go home with an adopter after her spay surgery on or about November 19, 2024. Olive is a young female, boxer mix puppy with a soft coat and warm, friendly eyes. We estimate she will be on the smaller side, between 20-40 lbs. when full grown. One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Olive traveled from an animal shelter in Pearsall, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. The color olive is associated with harmony, wisdom and sophistication. Our Olive? Well, she is really, really cute. Did we mention that Olive is cute? She has cute forehead wrinkles when she is thinking. She has cute puppy dog eyes, and she has cute ears that flap when she moves. Cuddly and energetic, she has the sweetest personality that matches her cute appearance. She loves to play and does well with dogs and children (she hasn’t been cat tested yet, but we will update this when she has). Walks are a favorite thing to do, and after a nice adventure, she enjoys snuggling up with you for some down time. With her friendly, affectionate and playful nature, there is nothing drab about this Olive. Born in late February of 2024, Olive is an older puppy and is learning quickly. She has progressed rapidly through potty training and sleeps through the night. Olive walks well on her leash (though she can get distracted by something interesting), and she knows her basic obedience commands with a reward to get her attention. Olive is crate training as well. Olive’s ideal home? This cute girl with a colorful personality would blend well into any home with people to love who will love her in return. Daily cuddling is a must, and she would adore being your walking buddy. Children and dog siblings would be great, too. If this sounds like your home, Olive might be the pup for you! Meet mama Emery! Emery is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” below). “Fur-st Impressions” are very important! Schedule a meet and greet with Emery before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Emery’s adoption. Friendly, funny, athletic and affectionate, lovely Emery is a smaller dog at about 31 pounds (born in June of 2022, she is at her adult size). We believe she is a Labrador retriever mix, and she has soft black fur and gentle, amber eyes. Emery loves the older children she has met in her foster home and quickly became BFFs with the resident dog (romping together is a favorite pastime for this medium energy girl). She hasn’t been cat tested yet, but we will let you know once she has. Emery is quite possibly the sweetest girl you will ever meet; she is full of spunk, love, joy, and happiness.  Snuggles, giving kisses, and toys top her list of favorite things.  This girl is a survivor and has the most grateful and thankful spirit you will ever meet.  If you follow our social media, you may be familiar with Emery’s story. She was found pregnant and running the streets of New Mexico by a kind couple who took her to a rescue. We committed to taking her and her five babies (the Nail Salon litter). Upon their arrival in Spokane, it was quickly apparent that some of the pups and Emery were unwell. Testing revealed that three of the pups and their mother were infected with the distemper virus, an often-fatal disease. The three ill pups succumbed to distemper; Emery (with the loving care of her foster) was able to prevail against the virus.  Recently testing free of distemper, she celebrated with a pup cup!  While Emery has a couple of residual effects from her distemper battle, they will not impede her ability to live a rich and full life. She has a slight tremor that comes and goes but does not seem to bother her at all; she will have some issues with the enamel on her teeth for the remainder of her life; and she has a dry nose that can be managed with ointment. Now healthy and bright eyed again, she is an active, confident, loving, and playful girl looking to make up for the time she lost while ill. Emery is a smart girl who has been working on her skills while recovering. She is potty and crate trained and walks well on a leash. She sleeps through the night and is quite content to spend time on her own. She will start learning her basic obedience commands shortly. Emery’s ideal home? This resilient survivor will be the perfect addition to any home. Affectionate, snuggly, and gentle, she seeks a family to love who will love her in return, provide her with walks and play adventures, and perhaps offer playmates in the form of kids or other dogs. Does this sound like your home? Want to meet Emery? Email us to set up a Fur-st Impression meet and greet! What is Path of Hope’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Super snuggler seeks blanket sharer!  Meet Periwinkle! Periwinkle is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Periwinkle is a young male, chihuahua/Italian greyhound puppy, with floppy ears who was born around the end of June 2024.  He has soulful eyes that can communicate so much! One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Periwinkle traveled from an animal shelter in Hondo, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. He’s already a seasoned traveler, having flown here courtesy of Dog is My Co-Pilot. We are currently taking applications for Periwinkle, and he will be able to go home with an adopter after his neuter surgery on or about November 19, 2024. Affectionate and loyal, Periwinkle is a sweet boy looking to find his place in a world that can be overwhelming at times. His default position when scared is to run to his humans for comfort and support, and his foster family will be working on building his confidence, by exposing him to new people, places, and experiences. Though a lower energy pup, Periwinkle is learning how to play with other dogs; the resident dogs in his foster home are great teachers.  This loving little pup enjoys the company of people (Periwinkle is more comfortable with older children); he loves to snuggle and give kisses. Periwinkle is ready to hibernate with you and a warm blanket on the couch this winter.  Periwinkle is quickly picking up his skills. He is crate trained and takes his meals in his crate. Periwinkle does well when left alone for several hours at a time. He is figuring out potty training and sleeps through the night. Periwinkle has started leash and obedience training.  Periwinkle’s ideal home? An affectionate boy, he seeks a family to love who will love him in return. He would thrive in a home that is not super chaotic with people willing to gently push him out of his comfort zone and help him gain more confidence.  And with his short fur, he would appreciate warm blankets and plenty of people snuggles! Fluffy, Funny, and Waiting for You! Meet Inchworm! Inchworm is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). We are currently taking applications for Inchworm, and he will be able to go home with an adopter after his neuter surgery on or about November 19, 2024. Inchworm is a young male, mixed breed puppy with a soft coat in shades of brown and soulful chocolate eyes. He is so endearing with floppy ears that seem too big for his little body. This puppy is a ball of fluff who resembles a Tribble (if they had enormous ears). But don’t let the puffy coat fool you. Inchworm is probably going to be a large dog, in the 60 lb. range when full grown. And shedding? Yep.  He will shed. But he is soooo cute! One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Inchworm traveled from an animal shelter in Del Rio, Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. While the Crayola color inchworm might be hard to describe, our Inchworm puppy can be summed up like this: friendly, affectionate, playful, curious, funny, and fast. He adores people, snuggles, and playing. Inchworm loves playing with toys, running around outside, and running around outside with his toys. He is a fast little puppy who joys in his ability to move. Inchworm is quite fearless and has yet to encounter anything he doesn’t approach with exuberance and curiosity. Inchworm is a happy, loving pup who just finds the world the most interesting and exciting thing ever. Born about mid-August, Inchworm is a quick study. He is potty trained and knows his basic commands with a food reward. Inchworm spends several hours at a time in his crate with his toys, and he has started leash training with the same joie de vivre he brings to play time. If we had to name something he doesn’t like, it would probably be bed time. He just knows the really fun stuff happens after he falls asleep. Inchworm’s ideal home? Yours, if you are seeking a loving, active, funny, goofy puppy who is just so thrilled to be part of this world. Having a good dog brush and a tolerance for fur would be useful. Underneath all that fur comes a puppy who will be a dream companion and exercise partner for someone who adopts him. Are you the one for Inchworm? Want to meet Inchworm? A Loyal and Loving Companion! Meet Rhysand! Rhysand is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Rhysand is a mixed breed puppy with black fur, mottled black and white markings on his chest, and adorable spotted toes. We estimate he will be a medium size dog when full grown. Part of our Court of Thorns and Roses litter, Rhysand and his eight siblings were discovered in a cardboard box and turned it to a Texas shelter where they were slated for euthanasia. Thanks to our amazing fosters, we were able to save them all and transport them here to find new homes in the PNW area. Like his literary namesake, our Rhysand is deeply devoted to the people he loves, and he will make a wonderful addition to any home.   Loving, affectionate and playful, Rhysand was born to snuggle. If you are on the couch, snuggled up with you is where he wants to be. And if people aren’t available, he will snuggle with his very patient sister (purple ID tag). This loyal rescued pup loves hard and connects deeply with his people. It is almost as if he knows he received a second chance at life, and he is happy to express his gratitude. When the mood hits him, Rhysand will interrupt his cuddling time to indulge in play. He enjoys running around and playing with other dogs, and he is very fond of chew toys and rope toys. A Texas dog, he finds the cold and our early dark evenings a bit perplexing, and he enjoys sunbathing when he finds a warm beam. Rhysand is learning quickly as he settles into his foster home. He will spend time in his crate, and he sleeps through the night. Rhysand has started potty and leash training and has begun obedience as well (which will be helped by the fact that food and treats might be his most favorite things after people). Rhysand’s ideal home? He seeks an adopter that will love him as much and as loyally as he will love them. Lots of treats and snuggles and play and pets would make him the happiest puppy ever.  Rhysand would thrive with adopters who will ensure he learns the skills that will make him a well-rounded and happy dog. If you are looking for a dedicated companion, Rhysand might be the dog for you! Want to meet Rhysand? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! A puppy with joie de vivre! Meet Thistle! Thistle (an orphan now part of our Crayola litter) is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information in the “Adoption from Path of Hope Rescue” section below). Born on or about May 15, 2024, Thistle is a black, mixed breed puppy with a short coat, floppy ears, the cutest little white toes, and soulful eyes.  A rescue from a Texas shelter, this delightful puppy is brimming with joie de vivre (an exuberant enjoyment of life). We expect Thistle to be a medium size adult dog in the 40-60 lb. range. Sweet, friendly, and affectionate, Thistle loves to snuggle up with you at the end of a busy, active day and shower you with kisses. Thistle is a typical, joyful, active puppy who loves playing with sticks much bigger than he is. He will contentedly drag his sticks around the yard in a game only he understands. A happy-go-lucky puppy with a social personality, Thistle loves everyone he meets (adults, children, and other dogs) and wants nothing more than to play and snuggle with you. In the clumsy puppy stage, Thistle tends to barrel his way through life, all long legs and energy. He overflows with optimism and is convinced that all it takes is one more play bow to get his foster’s older dog to join him in his shenanigans (she may have told him off 50 times, but he knows that 51st try will win her over!). Now that he has gotten over his fear of it, Thistle will chase the foster’s cat, but he is learning to temper his exuberance around it.   Thistle is working on his skills. He spends several hours at a time in his crate, sleeps through the night, and is almost potty trained, giving cues when he needs to go outside. Thistle has started leash and obedience training. He knows his basic commands with a reward incentive and has good recall skills. Thistle is very food motivated and a good candidate to learn tricks or agility. Thistle’s ideal home? Thistle would thrive in an active home where he would get daily walks and adventures suited to his energy level. While he would thrive as an only dog, another dog who would romp and play with him would make him deliriously happy. Thistle would love people to cherish, to snuggle with, and who will ensure he learns the skills that will make him a happy and well-rounded dog. Want to meet Thistle? The Queen will see you now! Meet Keeva! Keeva is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Because “Fur-st Impressions” are very important, schedule a meet and greet with Keeva before applying to see if she is the perfect fit for your family by emailing us at Fur-stImpressions@pathofhoperescue.com.  A completed Adoption Application will be required after the meet and greet to move forward with Keeva’s adoption. Beautiful Keeva has a personality to match her stunning looks. This friendly, funny, patient girl (her foster loves to dress her up in costumes …) recently was voted PHR’s First Homecoming Queen by our social media followers. Gracious to the core, she accepted her accolade with dignity and praised the losers, er, other contestants. Born in March of 2021, Keeva has floppy ears, warm, chocolate brown eyes, and a soft tawny golden brown coat that turns into spots on her paws. An Australian cattle dog/German Shepherd/Newfoundland mix (according to DNA test results on her sibling), she is a trim, medium size adult dog. Adopted from Path of Hope Rescue as a puppy, Keeva recently returned to us when her adopter found himself unable to provide her with the attention and activity he felt she needed. True to her cattle dog nature, Keeva relishes being active and spending time with people. She was a running companion in her previous home, and she loves outracing the resident border collie and husky (often to claim the comfiest dog bed!) in her foster home. Keeva fetches when she is in the mood, loves playing with her toys, and delights in being around people, including the young children in her previous family. She passed her cat testing (she found it kind of boring), but she probably should not be in a home with chickens.  Sweet and affectionate, Keeva knows how to enjoy her down time as well; a snuggler who loves to give kisses, her favorite thing is to settle in with her foster mom and share a warm blanket. Keeva believes it her duty to lavish you with kisses, and she’s learning about the concept of personal space (I mean, why wouldn’t someone want her right in their face?).  Smart and eager to learn, Keeva is crate and potty trained and has attended basic obedience training.  For more on Keeva’s exploits, check out The Foster Diaries (Spokane) page on Facebook! Keeva’s ideal home? While she is an anointed Queen, she doesn’t require a castle or a ton or courtiers to make her happy. A loving, funny, goofy, friendly girl, she would thrive in an active home and enjoy being your walking or running buddy. A soft blanket or comfy dog bed is a must, and children or dog siblings would be a plus. Her Majesty is looking for someone to be hers; could it be you? Email us to set up your “Fur-st Impression” meet and greet with Keeva! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Our adoption process takes on average 7-10 days. Whoa! You gotta see this pup! Meet Joey Lawrence! Joey Lawrence is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Joey Lawrence is a young terrier mix puppy with warm coffee colored, heart-melting eyes and adorable brown and white markings.  Part of our Lawrence Brothers litter with siblings Matt and Andy, Joey Lawrence traveled from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to find a new home in the PNW area where he will BLOSSOM.  Friendly, affectionate, and curious, Joey Lawrence is social and outgoing. He loves romping with the other dogs and pups in his foster home, and playing ball with the older children in the home is fast becoming a new favorite activity. Joey Lawrence has yet to meet a toy he doesn’t like. A short walk makes him very happy (his little legs are building up to longer ones!). Curious and funny, he eagerly explores the world around him, though he isn’t fond of going outside as the nights get colder and darker earlier (I mean, who would blame him?).  Born in early July of 2024, Joey Lawrence is a young puppy learning new skills daily. He is progressing well through his crate and potty training and wakes once a night to go out. Joey Lawrence loves his walks and is quickly picking up good leash manners. He will begin his basic obedience work shortly. In the meantime, Joey Lawrence is spending his days romping, cuddling, and getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with his foster family. He is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for his new home.  Joey Lawrence’s ideal home? This sweet pup seeks people to love who will love him in return and ensure he learns the skills that will make him a well-rounded and happy dog. While he would love a dog sibling or children in the home, he would be equally content to be the center of your attention. Joey Lawrence would love someone to join him for walks and explores, and plenty of toys and bones to chew would be swell. Want to add some BROTHERLY LOVE to your life? This might be the pup for you! Sweet, gentle, and gorgeous! Meet Bronze! Bronze is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Born in January of 2024, gorgeous Bronze is a male, possibly Pharaoh hound mix puppy. One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Bronze traveled from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. The color bronze is associated with strength and comfort, and its warm earthy tones can promote a connection to nature. The color uplifts and soothes, and this pup will do the same for the family who adopts him! Bronze seems to understand that he has been rescued; gentle, sweet, and affectionate, he goes out of his way to shower you with kisses and show his appreciation. His absolute favorite thing is to be with his person, whether it is keeping you company while you work or cuddling on the couch with you (he will burrow under blankets so he can settle in your lap). Bronze is gentle with kids as well and enjoys indulging in his funny, goofy side while playing squeaky toys (with breaks for cuddles and pets) with the children in his foster home.  A mellow, medium energy dog, Bronze enjoys a walk or outside explore or some tussling with his toys in between warm, snuggly naps. Bronze hasn’t met cats yet, but we will update you once he has.  Bronze is learning new skills every day. He has started potty training and is working on spending time in his crate (he enjoys some background noise when he is in his crate). He walks well on his leash but finds traffic a bit intimidating. Bronze is gaining confidence in the world around him and learning that loud noises won’t harm him. He loves food, and he knows his basic commands with a treat reward. Bronze is spending his days romping, cuddling, and getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with his foster family. He is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for his new home.  Bronze’s ideal home? Do you love spending time snuggled up with a loving pup? Small body, Big heart! Meet Shadow! Shadow is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Shadow is male Maltese/standard poodle puppy with dark curly fur and soft, sweet eyes. He is one adorable little fluffball, and we estimate he will be a small dog when full grown. Likely born in January of 2024, he is an older puppy.  One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Shadow traveled from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to find a new home in the PNW area.  Shadow was named for the Crayola color, but he also likes to be your shadow! His top three loves all involve being with you: cuddling, going for walks, and playing. An energetic pup, he plays well with other dogs and would love a dog sibling he could romp with when the people weren’t available. Friendly, sweet, and loyal, Shadow has never met a stranger; guests to the home are simply pals he is encountering for the first time. Shadow hasn’t been cat tested yet, but we will share those results when he has. A petite pup, he might not take up much room in your home, but Shadow will fill your heart.  Shadow is crate trained, progressing through his potty training, and sleeps through the night. He really enjoys his walks and does well on his leash. Shadow will begin obedience training shortly. In the meantime, he is spending his days romping, cuddling, and getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with his foster family. Shadow is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for his new home.  Shadow’s ideal home? This active pup seeks a home where he can love and be loved, have play time, and enjoy walks with his special person. A dog sibling would be a bonus, but cuddle time is a must have. Looking to add a sweet and petite canine friend into your life? Shadow might be the one for you! Want to meet Shadow? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Huey is an easygoing, affectionate, and curious pup who likes to explore the outdoors with you in search of the perfect stick to chew. Finding the right stick is very important to this little guy.  Huey enjoys prowling and rolling in the grass (which is about as tall as he is!). Playing is almost as important to him as snuggling in for pets and belly rubs. Gentle and friendly, Huey romps with other dogs as fast as his little legs will allow, and he has been very mellow with the resident cats. He is a big fan of kids, too, as he has learned they will throw toys, pet him, and shower him with attention. Playing with toys that make noise is a favorite past time, as is chasing after the ball. This loyal and loving little pup cherishes time with his people,  Huey is progressing very well through his potty training and sleeps through the night.  He will spend several hours at a time in his crate, but he’d rather be out with you. He has good recall skills and is learning his basic obedience. Huey has started walking on his leash, and he enjoys being on the go but finds cars to be noisy and a little intimidating! Huey’s ideal home? It could be yours! Huey seeks a home where he can love and be loved, where he will get quality play time and not need to spend the day in a crate. Fun toys, good things to chew, warm laps, lots of cuddles and snuggles, and maybe some children or dog siblings would be just perfect. He may be small, but he has a lot of love to give! WANTED. Our two employees and army of volunteers focus on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. He’s ready to shower you with some BROTHERLY LOVE! Meet Andy Lawrence! Andy Lawrence is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Born July 2024, Andy Lawrence is a terrier mix puppy with golden fawn fur, floppy ears, and a black muzzle that resembles a goatee. Andy Lawrence and his siblings Joey and Matt were dumped in an alley adjacent to a home in Freeport, Texas and taken in to the Brazoria SPCA. They’ve journeyed to find new homes in the PNW area.  Andy Lawrence is the athlete of his brothers. Playful, smart, and curious, he is always on the hunt for a new adventure or a new dandelion to stalk (he enjoys pouncing on the flowers and watching the seeds disperse). Jumping and running around make this little guy so happy. And toys? Yes, please! He is fascinated by the larger resident dogs in his foster home, trailing behind them, and running for the safety of his crate when they try to get him to play. With his growing confidence in the world and his abilities, it won’t be long before he joins in their games. Andy Lawrence’s energy is only matched by his affectionate nature; he loves being close to his humans (adult and children) and snuggling up with you on a warm blanket is the perfect way to rest up after exploring.  Andy Lawrence is a young puppy, but he has progressed well through his potty training and is almost house broken, waking once during the night to go outside. He sees his crate as a place of safety and will begin leash and obedience training shortly. In the meantime, Andy Lawrence is spending his days romping, cuddling, and getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with his foster family. Andy Lawrence is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for his new home.  Andy Lawrence’s ideal home? It might be yours! An active, athletic puppy, he would thrive in a home where he would get walks and adventures and playtime (maybe even agility training). People who love him that he could love in return is a must. And toys, please! Does this sound like your home? Want to meet Andy Lawrence? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! What is Path of Hope Rescue’s Adoption Process? Add some color to your life with Indigo! Meet Indigo! Indigo is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section).  Indigo is a young, mixed breed, female puppy with snowy white fur and a black tipped ear. She has a lighter black circle around one eye, which makes her look so endearing! One of our Crayola crayon orphans, Indigo traveled from the Brazoria SPCA in Texas to find a new home in the PNW area. The color indigo is often associated with calm and wisdom, like the night sky; our Indigo … well, she’s still a puppy, so maybe not calm and wise quite yet.  While Indigo is working on her wisdom, she exudes friendliness and affection. This playful and sweet girl is looking for all the attention she can get, and some warm snuggles with you or game play is right up her alley. She is learning to temper her puppy exuberance (while people may love cuddles, toe nibbling is less appreciated) while settling into the routines of her foster home. Affectionate Indigo enjoys giving gentle kisses to her foster’s young children. Clumsily romping with other dogs is a favorite pastime, and she’d never turn down a walk.  Born in late June of 2024, Indigo is learning new skills every day. She is progressing through her potty training and wakes once during the night. She does well in her crate for several hours at time, and she has just started walking on a leash. She will begin basic obedience shortly. In the meantime, Indigo is spending her days romping, cuddling, and getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with her foster family. Indigo is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for her new home.  Indigo’s ideal home? This adorable girl seeks people to love who will love her in return. A family with children to lavish her with attention would be delightful, but she would also be content to have that one special person in her life. Walks and adventures and games would make her deliriously happy. If this sounds good to you, maybe it is time to add some Indigo to your life! Want to meet Indigo?
