She was pregnant with me and my siblings and she didn’t know what would happen to us all. Sadly some of my siblings died after they were born because they were sick and malnourished from life on the streets. One day, we were all loaded on a van and driven north to Spokane where unfortunately another one of my siblings passed away. Since then I’ve been with an awesome foster family who have looked after me. They’ve shown me how good life with a family can be so I’m keeping all my paws crossed that I can join my very own furever family soon! Frosty the Snowman is part of the Christmas Carol litter. His mama was found as a stray in Spokane, WA when she was very pregnant. She gave birth to 9 healthy babies (and 4 stillborns) in late December. Mama got very sick from the difficult birth and had to have an emergency spay surgery when her kids were just 4 days old. These little balls of floof are now 5 weeks old and thriving. They are Husky mixes. We are still getting to know their little personalities but here is what we know so far about Frosty the Snowman. He was part of our “Christmas Carol” litter after his mama, a former stray, gave birth to 9 pups in December. Since then, he has been in puppy-mode living in foster care where he has been able to show us his friendly personality and adventurous spirit. Sleigh Ride is outgoing and sweet - he will do his own thing but loves to come over for cuddles. As a little baby, he is still learning about the world around him, but will respond well to continued training in his forever home with praise and treats. Meet Blue Christmas (aka Blue)! You won’t be feeling blue with this little lady around! This sweet and playful husky is the joker of the pack. She was part of our “Christmas Carol” litter after her mama, a former stray, gave birth to 9 pups in December. Since then, she has been in puppy-mode living in foster care where she has been able to show us her friendly and adorable personality. Blue loves belly rubs, snuggles and snacks - and then will have a good nap afterwards. When she gets belly rubs, she will giggle and wiggle, entertaining the humans around her. With this girl, even the most dull household chores will become fun - she especially likes to keep you company and entertained when her humans are doing laundry or making the bed. As a little baby, she is still learning about the world around her, but she will respond well to continued training in her forever home with praise and treats. She is very affectionate and enjoys socializing so would love to join a family home that will let her relax and offers lots of belly rubs! Meet Dreidel! Dreidel is a super sweet and friendly husky pup who likes to spin and play, just like her namesake. She was part of our “Christmas Carol” litter after her mama, a former stray, gave birth to 9 pups in December. Since then, she has been in puppy-mode living in foster care where she has been able to show us her friendly and outgoing nature. She is a curious gal who likes to sit by the window and watch the world go by - but she will immediately turn around for cuddles or to play when her human or other pups are around. As a little baby, she is still learning about the world around her, but she will respond well to continued training in her forever home with praise and treats. She is not a fan of bath time but will take all the snacks and snuggles that are on offer! She is very affectionate and enjoys socializing so would love to join a family home with kids and/or other dogs to play with. Sweet and spunky Kaela defied her tough beginnings to become the snuggliest, most playful friend you could ask for. She was found at 8 weeks old abandoned with her siblings by the side of the road. Fortunately, they were found by a kind gentleman who delivered her to the care of a local rescue. During Kaela’s veterinary exam, they discovered a heart murmur, which led to X-rays revealing pulmonary stenosis. Kaela had successful heart surgery on August 31 and is now fully recovered and looking for her furever family. Kaela is a super cuddler and loves adventures! She gets along great with other dogs and cats and would be happiest in a home that has kids or another dog for her to play with. If you’re a family that likes to go on adventures she’s ready to go with you! Take her swimming because she loves the water…and make sure she has lots and lots of toys! When her foster people let her, she snuggles up in bed for the whole night without moving. She’ll snuggle up to dogs, to cats…whoever’s in her path. But take her outside to run or turn on the hose (she LOVES the water!) and…good luck getting her back in the house! She will try to stay out as long as she can! Perfect for a teenager needing a best friend to get them fresh air and unconditional love. Although she is fully recovered, Kaela wants her furever family to know that she will be required to be on Aetenalol her entire life, which will assist with her blood pressure, and that she also has a secondary defect that shouldn't impact her quality of life. Sweet, fun, and loyal...that's Fezzik! He is one of four giant breed sibling puppies rescued in Spokane. We estimate his birthday is April 20, 2022. When he came to the rescue on September 20, 2022, the puppies were about 4.5 months old and 40 pounds. We expect this good-looking black and tan hound mix to be around 100 pounds as an adult. Fezzik is slow to trust, but once he warms up he is so sweet and snuggly! Wonderful temperament, a great sleeper, but he's just a little skittish on walks. He prefers to eat in his crate, and he's a great sleeper. What this young boy needs is your forever lovin' to boost his confidence. Introducing Mama Baguette, a Path of Hope Rescue celebrity! This sweet, pregnant girl was found wandering the streets in Texas and brought to a shelter where she was facing euthanasia until we committed to save her. With generous donations and the assistance of a volunteer in Seattle, we flew Baguette here where she safely brought her brood of 10 adorable pups into the world. Baguette is a very attentive mom, and as a result, the babies are doing great; even the runt of the litter is gaining weight. She may be getting a bit weary of feeding 10 pups with only 9 nipples, but in spite of the challenges, she is pretty mellow. Baguette just loves ear and belly rubs. She follows her foster mom around and sleeps under her bed when the pups are sleeping. She’s good with the resident dog and cat and is beginning to play a little bit. She seems to like everyone who visits, and it’s very clear that she will continue to flourish in a loving, forever home. Mama Christmas Carol’s tale is indeed a joyful one. This beautiful and pregnant furlady was found in Spokane on December 12 and ended up in the local shelter SCRAPS. She was placed on a 3 day hold for an owner to claim her, and when no one did, SCRAPS contacted us directly. We picked her up on December 16, and since then she’s become a local celebrity, with our followers and their friends rejoicing at the birth of her pups. On December 25, her Christmas pup, Little Drummer Boy, was born. Our remarkable team assisted in her whelping around the clock and Christmas Carol birthed 11 more pups December 26, 3 of which were stillborn. She spent a few days nursing and bonding with her pups. On December 30, she birthed her final pup, the 4th stillborn giving her a total of 13 pups and causing her to be rushed to the ER for an emergency spay. We truly believe the miracle of Mama Christmas Carol is such a happy story due to the many who stepped up to help fund emergency surgery that became necessary after the stillbirths, our whelping team, fosters, and our volunteers that hand-fed the little ones until Mama could return from surgery and start nursing again.. Mama Christmas Carol has now recovered completely from her surgery and she and her puppies are being expertly cared for. As the pups mature, we’ll share more information about this sweet, beautiful resilient dog and her litter of charismatic puppies! Meet Taffy, a lovable and playful 8-month old Pittie. Taffy loves to be with her people, and one of her favorite activities is going for hikes when it’s not below freezing. She’ll get completely absorbed in smelling as many smells as possible, but she doesn’t stray off the path, preferring to keep within eyesight of her humans. Taffy also loves zooming around with other dogs and playing with human kids. She enjoys cats and would love to be friends, but she’s really good at giving a kitty space when needed. Previously adopted, Taffy spent lots of time in an apartment basically abandoned. She is grateful to have room to roam and people to be with. In her former life, she had no choice but to go potty in the house when no one was there to let her out so potty training is back to basics. She is learning how to ask to go out and happily goes outside when given the opportunity, but she still has some pee accidents. Taffy is always ready to play but also snuggles into her kennel quietly when it is time to settle down.
