Sweet, Soft, Adorable Abu! Abu is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (see information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Path of Hope Rescue saved Abu and his family from the euthanasia list at a rural county shelter in TX and transported them to the PNW. Are you searching for a companion as mischievous and playful as a monkey? Look no further than Abu, the adorable pup with a heart of gold and a spirit as free as the wind! Born April 15, 2024, young Abu is a sweet and snuggly boy with incredibly soft and fluffy black fur.  This adorable little pup is the smallest in his litter of seven, but he doesn’t let his size stand in his way of being part of the pack. Abu loves romping with his siblings; he holds his own against the bigger pups and does not allow them to pick on him.  Abu loves to snuggle in the crook of your neck, then look at you with the warmest, gentlest eyes and give you the sweetest little kisses. Kind and compassionate, Abu is always willing to lend a paw to those in need. With him as your furry friend, you'll discover a whole new world of love and friendship. We are currently accepting adoption applications for Abu. Abu will be old enough for adoption on or about June 10, 2024, and will be neutered (he is scheduled for this procedure in early June) before going to live with his adopter. Don't miss out on the chance to add a touch of mischief and a whole lot of love to your life. Adopt Abu and let the adventures begin! Want to meet Abu? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Cuddle bug extraordinaire! Meet Salmon! Salmon is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Salmon just arrived at our rescue on May 30, 2024; he traveled to the PNW from Texas, where he and his sister Sienna had been on the euthanasia list in a Texas shelter. With his brindle coloring and sweet face, this little boy turns heads! But Salmon isn’t just beautiful on the outside; this little puppy has a gorgeous heart, too. He is snuggly, sweet, and enjoys cuddling with you (he would never turn down a nap in your lap!).  Mellow and laidback, Salmon enjoys watching the drama going on around him. While he loves to romp with his sister and other dogs, he prefers to relax on the porch when the play gets rambunctious.  Salmon has met many new people on his travels and won them over with his gentle personality. Baldur – Adventure buddy and heart melter   Meet Baldur! Baldur is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.) All you must do is meet adorable and delightful Baldur, and you will fall in love with this affectionate, friendly, and endearing little pup. Baldur prances when he walks, and when he wakes up in the morning, he goes through a series of yoga stretches to start his day. A social butterfly, Baldur is friendly with everyone, whether human or canine. He has done well with children of all ages as well as cats during his time in foster.  If you want a cuddler for cozy evenings on the couch or an outside adventure buddy to go on walks, Baldur is your guy! Confident and curious, Baldur rolls with whatever you throw his way. This young pup has had a lot of adventures, including camping and boating, and he is game for all of it. He enjoys coming along on shopping trips and behaved very well on a restaurant outing. Baldur has excellent leash manners and takes new experiences in stride. He is an easygoing, gentle, and loving pup who is happy to be wherever his people are. An intelligent pup, Baldur is eager to learn; he knows sit and down and is learning come and stay (he loves treats and your praise equally, so obedience training is something he enjoys).  Quite the little gentleman, Baldur sits politely and waits for his meals. He is fully crate trained; he relaxes in his kennel, willingly takes naps, and sleeps through the night. Baldur is potty trained and rings the bell by the door when he needs to go outside.   His ideal home? Baldur’s needs are simple: he seeks people to love and shower with kisses who will love and give him affection, and to ensure he learns the skills that will make him a well-rounded and happy dog. Adventures such as walks and games would be lovely, and he would cherish evenings cuddling with you on the couch. Lots of praise and human companionship. Kids and other dogs to play with would be a bonus. And he’d never turn down a treat … Want to meet Baldur? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! A Pup as Pretty as the Sunset! Meet Mauvelous! Mauvelous is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue” section). Beautiful and affectionate, Mauvelous had been on the euthanasia list in a Texas shelter before traveling to our rescue.  With her elegant looks, she turns heads wherever she goes. A smooth collie and German Shepherd Dog mix, Mauvelous is still a puppy, and she has the charming clumsy, bouncy romping gait of one.  She trips over her feet and scrambles up and down stairs. Playful, smart, and curious, Mauvelous is eager to please and wants to make you happy; cuddling with people and being affectionate comes naturally to this mellow girl. She is also a kind and gentle puppy; though a fast runner, Mauvelous will slow down so the younger puppies can play with her. She plays well with older dogs and respects them when they set boundaries for her. Mauvelous gets along beautifully with children in her foster home, too. She has not been cat tested yet, but we will share the results when she has.  Being a Texas dog, Mauvelous likes stretching out in the warm sun, preferably on a soft cushion! Being an older puppy, Mauvelous has many skills in place. She is fully crate trained, and she sleeps through the night. Mauvelous is potty trained and quickly picked up how to use the dog door.  She already has some basic obedience commands learned.  She loves treats and praise, so obedience training is something she enjoys doing.   The ideal home for Mauvelous? Well, yours! This lovely, sweet natured, and kind puppy will thrive in a loving and affectionate home with people who will ensure she learns the skills that will make her a happy and well-rounded dog. Kids would be great, as would other dogs, but your love alone will be enough for this delightful girl. Especially if you have treats and a warm place to nap! Want to meet Mauvelous? Path of Hope Rescue saved Princess Jasmine and her seven puppies from the euthanasia list at a rural county shelter in TX and transported them to the PNW. Are you ready to embark on a magical journey filled with love, loyalty, and endless cuddles? Look no further than Princess Jasmine, the regal pooch with a heart of gold! Despite her royal status, Princess Jasmine is as sweet and loving as can be. This adorable girl is a petite little pup; we think she is a golden retriever/dachshund mix. Princess Jasmine is a loving mama who dotes on her seven puppies and is enjoying teaching them to play. When she has a break from her parenting duties, Princess Jasmine will shower you with affection and cuddles, melting away your worries and making you feel like royalty yourself. She loves snuggles and being loved on and thinks the best day ever is one spent by your side. Princess Jasmine has a friendly personality and gets along with kids, cats, other dogs, and even farm animals. Princess Jasmine is raising her puppies and learning new skills (she is a great multi-tasker). Her house training is going well; she goes outside to potty and has no accidents with a consistent schedule. Princess Jasmine is crate trained and sleeps through the night. She hasn’t started leash training yet, but she will once her puppies get older, and she can be away from them for longer intervals. Like any new mom, Princess Jasmine appreciates her alone time and has no issues being on her own for stretches of time. Princess Jasmine’s ideal home? Why yours, of course! This delightful, affectionate little girl would thrive in a home with a loving and adoring family. Oher dogs would be fun but not necessary. Super easy going, Princess Jasmine is looking for a home with people she can spend time with, with play opportunities, lots of snuggles, and some warm places for sunbathing (she is a Texas dog, after all). Does this sound like your castle? We are currently accepting adoption applications for Princess Jasmine. A funny Valentine to brighten your whole year Meet Valentine! Valentine is in a foster home in Spokane WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.) Valentine is a happy labrador retriever/Catahoula Leopard Dog mix.  Catahoulas are known for their energy and playfulness, and Valentine has both. Silly at heart, she loves to leap from across the room, landing in a “let’s play” position in front of the resident dog. Valentine has a fondness for running around outside (she bunny hops across the yard!) and enjoys walks, too.  She would be a great candidate for agility training. Valentine relishes searching through her pile of toys to find the one with the best squeaker. She plays well with other dogs and has befriended her foster’s cat (she’s not deterred by its grumpy personality). Valentine does have a herding dog personality, so older kids would be better companions for her. Valentine has packed a lot into her short life, and she is enjoying the chance to be the young dog that she is. She and her nine puppies were saved from euthanasia in Texas before journeying to Washington to begin a new life. Valentine feels secure in her crate and can amuse herself quietly for hours (but she won’t turn down an opportunity to nap on the couch). Valentine sleeps through the night and her house training is progressing well. She sits patiently for her snacks and meals and is working on other basic obedience commands. Valentine is working on her greeting manners, so a busy household with lots of new people coming and going might be overwhelming for her at first; consistent expectations and training will set Valentine up for success. Funny Valentine is starting a new phase of her life, and she seeks someone to share in her adventure. Valentine’s ideal home? Lots of love and toys; fun walks or opportunities to run in a yard; dogs and cat siblings would be wonderful but not required; and older kids. She’d never turn down treats, either! Like a butterfly emerging from its cocoon, Valentine is stretching her wings and pivoting from protective, alert-mom mode to trusting pup willing to let someone take care of her. If the thought of sharing that journey with her makes you smile, maybe this Valentine is the one for you! Want to meet Valentine? Fill out an inquiry or visit our website for more information! Possibly the Perfect Pup! Meet Copper! Copper is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.) Stunning Copper might just be the perfect pup. He’s the ideal combination of activity buddy and couch cuddler with the smarts to match his gorgeous coloring. Copper also has a beautiful temperament; he loves all people, relishes the company of other dogs, behaves nicely with cats, and simply delights in the world around him. With his warm and loving personality, Copper steals the hearts of everyone he meets. Copper is the perfect mix of adventure buddy and couch cuddler. Sports?  He has attended soccer games and loves playing ball. Shopping? At the local hardware store, Copper quickly had everyone eating out of his paw and scored some treats, too. Hiking? He ventured to Riverside State Park where he saw horses for the first time. Fascinated by them, Copper displayed excellent manners as he watched the large animals. Play dates?  Copper has great social skills, and he plays well with the cats and dogs in his foster home. Downtime?  Copper loves to spend time with his people, and cuddling on the couch is a favorite pastime. He is generous with his affection and loves to make you feel special. Copper is a smart young dog (born July of 2023), who picks up new skills almost daily. He is fully crate trained and progressing well in his potty training; he alerts at the door when he needs to go outside. He walks very well on a leash (including on a tether to another dog). Copper sleeps through the night and has learned basic obedience. He has nice food manners; he sits and waits to be released before eating. Copper’s ideal home? It would include adventures, snuggles, and dinners (he is a growing boy). Other animal companions would suit him as well. And people to love who would love him in return and ensure he learns the skills that make him a well-rounded and happy dog.  Is your home the one for this loving, beautiful, almost perfect boy? An International Dog of Mystery … Meet Easton! Easton is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the "Adoption Donation" section.) Easton, dog of mystery, is a gifted master of disguise. An 80 lb. mix of Labrador Retriever/American Staffordshire Terrier, he can make himself seem half that size when he curls up in a comfy spot. With his amazing skills, he blends into any environment, whether it is a St. Patrick’s Day celebration or your home. He has even used his “Easton powers” to impersonate a certain spring holiday icon. However, Easton’s preferred role is “couch hippo” where he can cuddle up with a special human (a warm blanket would be the perfect finishing touch!).  Easton has had many adventures with his foster family - check out “The Foster Diaries” on Facebook (link below) for tales of his journey and to get a warm and humorous look at this loving dog. Easton patiently endures the wild ideas of his fosters and enjoys hanging out with other humans once he realizes they like him for more than his social media fame. He has an extensive repertoire of tricks and obedience skills, as well. Being an (ahem) larger fellow, Easton does best with bigger dogs and loves chilling with his canine entourage (the resident dogs) when he tires of the antics of his fosters. Easton seeks a family with large dog experience looking for a loyal, loving companion who enjoys walks and snuggles when he isn’t trying to save the world.  And Easton might provide an autograph if you don’t hound him… https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100087937581086 Want to meet Easton? This social butterfly cannot wait to meet you! Meet Beso! Beso is in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.) Are you looking for a new family member who can balance play with downtime, who enjoys exercise and also loves a good cuddle on the couch? If so, then Beso might be your boy! Friendly, affectionate, and confident, Beso is a playful social butterfly; he loves the company of people and other dogs and relishes opportunities to meet new friends or be the center of attention. Beso enjoys his daily walks (he has great leash manners), and a favorite adventure is strolling around Manito Park on a sunny Saturday and getting treats from the Fetch Barkery Food Truck. On a recent outing to Bark at the Park, he was the star of the show, getting pets from everyone in his section. Having been part of a large litter, Beso plays very well with other dogs and really loves kids. Beso is an easy going, chill pup who is equally happy playing fetch with you outside or gnawing on a toy while you work or cook. He’s energetic and goofily romps around before crashing hard for nap time. Beso is not picky about his sleep spot; the couch, a blanket that fell on the floor, in bed with his humans . . . any comfy place suits him. Beso has the cutest puppy snores and often sticks out his tongue when he sleeps. Beso has quickly learned how to be an awesome pup. He does well in his crate for several hours at a time (if you are home, he would rather play quietly near you); Beso is potty trained and rings the bells on the door when he needs to go outside. He LOVES food more than anything, so training for him is a favorite pastime.  Beso knows sit, drop it, and come, and he is working on stay and off. Quiet and mellow, Beso only barks when he's alerted (another dog barks at him, someone knocks at the door) and stops quickly. He loves car rides, and he’s happy to sightsee on a drive or curl up for a nap. Beso’s ideal home?  He would love an active family (combining treats and walks is his idea of perfection) willing to play with him and take him on explores. Lots of food (he is a puppy, after all) and treats would be wonderful, as well as soft places to nap and squeaky toys. And while kids and other dogs aren’t required, Beso would never turn them down! Meet Savvy! Savvy is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.) Born in April 2023, Savvy was in a shelter in Texas before our partner, Austin Pets Alive, transported her to our rescue in Spokane. She arrived on a cold, snowy day and did well with her introduction to the Pacific Northwest. Savvy is a small pup, a glossy black Labrador Retriever/American Pit Bull Terrier mix (best guess). Currently about 20 lbs., we estimate she will be around 40 lbs. when fully grown. Savvy is crate trained, vaccinated, and spayed. Shy, affectionate, gentle, curious, and friendly, Savvy wants nothing more than to please and spend time with her special people. She is very pack oriented, and she takes comfort from sleeping in her crate in the same room as her human pack members. Savvy’s foster mom reports that she gets along beautifully with her six grandchildren (ages 3 – 13); she was unfazed by all the holiday company. With her sweet temperament, this little girl would thrive in a home with children. Savvy enjoys the companionship of four legged friends as well. She is respectful and sweet with the other dogs in her foster home. Savvy loves doing zoomies with the younger resident dog, and she instinctively adjusts her energy level when playing with her 14-year-old foster dog brother. Both food and praise motivated, she is a quick study at learning basic commands; additionally, Savvy is potty trained and quickly figured out the dog door. This quiet little girl has yet to bark and reacts quizzically when the resident dogs do so in her presence. Savvy enjoys playing with antlers and safe chew bones; she can easily amuse herself if her canine companions need some down time. She adores comfy dog beds and is content to snuggle in your lap for hours on these chilly days. Savvy is quite curious about her new surroundings and exploring the backyard is a favorite pastime. She also enjoys walking adventures and is very well behaved on her leash. Savvy does get excited and will jump for joy when she greets you; she is learning to restrain her enthusiasm and sit to be adored. Because she has such a strong desire to be part of a pack, Savvy would love a home where she could have company during the day. Savvy spends her days romping and snuggling and getting lots of love and new adventures with her foster family. She is growing into a healthy, active, affectionate pup ready for her perfect forever home. At Path of Hope Rescue we strive to decrease the euthanasia rate of high-risk dogs in the southern United States by transporting pregnant dogs and puppies to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive homes. We are 100% foster based and rely on volunteers and fosters to help in our mission. Our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. Minimum Adoption donation is $550 for dogs under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. A TV critic and dog park aficionado Meet Mummy! Mummy is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area (See information below in the Adoption Donation section.) At about 4.5 years of age, Mummy is a mix of TV watching couch potato and dog park aficionado. She enjoys watching her favorite shows (anything featuring dogs is a big hit with her) but she cannot wait to get to the dog park and run, run, run with the other dogs (maybe because she knows she is the fastest one there!). Mummy came to our rescue after being found in a garage with her newborn puppies. Now that her puppies have gone out on their own, she is ready for her forever home. Mummy has a sweet temperament, a goofy ear, and the most adorable head tilt. As a mother, she has honed her listening skills and is always curious to hear what you have to say. Friendly and affectionate, Mummy loves to be with her favorite people and likes nothing better than cuddling or spending quality time with them. Mummy loves playing with other dogs and would be happy on her own or in a home with other canines. Mummy is house trained and walks well on a leash. She has started crate training and has basic obedience skills. Patient and gentle, she is great with children. Mummy has not been tested with cats yet. Mummy’s ideal home? One with people to love who will love her in return. Maybe a TV to keep up on her favorite shows and trips to the dog park or walks. Kids and other dogs would be fun, too, but if she has a special someone to cuddle with, she’ll be quite content. If this sounds like your home, Mummy would love to meet you! Want to meet Mummy? Fill out an inquiry form or visit our website for more information! Adopting from Path of Hope Rescue At Path of Hope Rescue, our goal is to make EVERY DOG. WANTED. We are primarily a volunteer organization that focuses on transporting pregnant dogs and puppies from Texas, the number one kill state in America. The dogs we rescue are in poor living conditions and on euthanasia lists in shelters that are inundated with unwanted animals. We want to give these dogs a chance and bring them to the Pacific Northwest to find adoptive, loving homes. Our adoption process sets us apart. We specialize in learning about you and your family to find just the right fit for you. Our Matchmakers are not only good at what they do; they will also guide you through the entire process.  Our Minimum Adoption Donation is $550 for puppies under a year and $450 for dogs one year and older. We are a WA state registered non-profit and rely heavily on adoption donations to cover the expenses associated with saving lives. Our dogs are spayed/neutered prior to adoption; microchipped with free lifetime registration; and up to date on DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines (when age appropriate) and heartworm and deworming. Adopters can also earn a $100 training refund if they attend (6) hours of any in person training course. We are 100% foster based; our dogs are fostered in loving homes where they are house and crate trained and learn basic obedience and leash skills. Dogs experience socialization opportunities with people, places, and other animals, and they receive the attention required to become well-rounded, healthy, and affectionate dogs that they would not otherwise receive in a shelter environment. Our commitment does not end when the dog is adopted. Path of Hope offers post adoption owner support including information on making the dog’s transition to your home a smooth one; recommendations for Preferred Trainers; advice on pet behavior and wellness topics; Facebook litter groups to keep in touch with fellow adopters; and invitations to local rescue hosted events. More than just a color! Meet Cerulean! Cerulean is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section).      Cerulean is a solid black, male Dachshund mix puppy with soft fur and floppy ears who will be a small dog (best guess) when fully grown. Though a little puppy, he has already had some big adventures! An orphan rescued in Texas, he traveled to WA by airplane courtesy of our partner Dog is My Co-pilot. The color cerulean is a shade of blue associated with the sky and ocean; in color theory, it promotes peacefulness, love, and balance. Our happy Cerulean embodies all of these traits.  Sweet, loving, and mellow, he has a calming presence and a maturity beyond his age. Cerulean is very well-behaved; he walks well on a leash, sleeps through the night, and spends hours nicely in his crate. Cerulean has quickly picked up house training and will start obedience shortly. He adores your attention, and with his easy-going personality, Cerulean gets along well with kids and other dogs. His favorite things are (in order): snuggling with his people, chasing his ball, and playing with other dogs. This zen pup will bring love and affection into your life. Cerulean’s ideal home? One with lots of snuggles and attention, where he can love and be loved. Dogs and/or kid companions would be a bonus, and balls to chase would make him the happiest pup ever. If you are looking for a pup to bring some love and peaceful vibes into your home, Cerulean might be the dog for you! Want to meet Cerulean? Looking for someone to complete your band? Meet Janis Joplin! Janis is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.) Janis Joplin is a young female puppy from our Rock N Roll litter. Janis has beautiful eyes – one bright blue and one warm chocolate brown. The Combination of the Two leads us to believe she might have Cattle Dog genes as well. We guess that she will be a smaller dog reaching somewhere between 25-40 pounds; she’s currently about 4 pounds. Janis and her siblings are already seasoned travelers having journeyed cross country from Texas to start new adventures and find forever homes in the PNW. Janis Joplin is highly intelligent and knows what she wants. Friendly, brave, playful, and curious, she was the first pup to explore outside their playpen. Janis is no Cry Baby and has no compunctions about telling her brother to Move Over so she can be the first to some new toy or food or person. Janis loves and lives to eat - this little pup is highly food motivated! She is also very social, getting along with cats, kids, and other dogs. She loves affection and wants to share a Piece of (her) Heart with you. Janis Joplin is gaining new experiences and skills every day. She has started potty training and has crate training down well, spending several hours at a time entertaining herself in her crate. Janis will start leash and obedience training when she is a little older.  Janis is getting lots of playtime, love, and new adventures with her foster family. Janis Joplin’s ideal home?  Maybe it is yours! Janis wants To Love Somebody and be loved in return; adventures and snacks and food and treats would be great, too. Want to meet Janis Joplin? Alanis and her siblings are already seasoned travelers having journeyed cross country from Texas to start new adventures and find forever homes in the PNW. A colorful girl with a personality to match! Meet Magenta! Magenta is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.) An older puppy, Magenta is a female German Shepherd Dog mix with medium, sable colored fur. She and her sister came to us from Texas where they had been strays. Fun, loving, and energetic, Magenta has a sweet, affectionate, and gentle personality as bright and warm as the color she is named for. Magenta is happy to cuddle with you and give you kisses as well as accompany you on walks or hikes. Comfortable in her new Washington surroundings, she lets her active, curious personality shine through. Magenta loves exploring and would be a great exercise buddy. Magenta has several resident dogs in her foster home, and she has been having a blast learning how to be a dog with them. She prefers proper, calm introductions (don’t we all?) to other dogs and is good at making canine friends. Magenta is very gentle with the resident cats in her foster home and enjoys their calm energy.  Recently, Magenta participated in a large Path of Hope Rescue puppy play date at Rex & Relax in Spokane.  She made new friends both canine and human as she romped and played. Magenta was gentle and sweet with the children she met and enjoyed spending time with them. Magenta has many skills to bring to her forever home. She is extremely well crate trained; she has no issues being in her crate for long periods of time and can be left alone for several hours. Magenta goes outside to potty on a consistent schedule with no accidents and sleeps through the night. She has started basic obedience training (treats are a big incentive!); “sit” and “come” are her newest commands. Magenta’s ideal home? She’d love an active family for daily walks and playing (she is a GSD, after all) as well as humans who enjoy cuddles, snuggles, and kisses. Companions, either children or dogs, would be the icing on the cake for this girl. If you are looking for an active, gentle girl who enjoys spending quality time with her people, Magenta might be the pup for you! Want to meet Magenta?
