Meet adorable Cinder Ella! This little cutie came to us from Mexicali, where she was taken off the streets as a puppy and is now being cared for in a loving foster home. Like a typical 4-month-old puppy, Cinder loves to run and play in the yard, wrestle with her canine foster sibling, and play with her toys. She is still getting used to walking on a leash (she does much better when she has another dog walking with her to help her feel more confident). Cinder is working on potty training. She has had some difficulty getting used to being in a crate, as she exhibits some separation anxiety, so she will need someone with experience to crate train her and create structure for her so she can be her most secure, confident self. She would do best in a home with another confident male dog, and someone with pit bull or dominant breed experience. At almost four months old she weighs about 15 pounds, and we are expecting her to be on the large side. If you are interested in meeting Cinder, please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. show less

Are you looking for an adorable pocket-sized boxer mix to keep you on your toes? Meet Shuri, a boxer mix who came to TRD from a fellow rescuer in Mexico. Shuri is smart and fun and learning the ways of the world with her foster family. She currently weighs around 20 pounds at about 5 months old as of late September 2020. Shuri is house trained and looking for more fun stuff to learn! Shuri still has some learning to do, especially with typical puppy behaviors like mouthiness. She gets very excited to hang out with her human friends and when it's time for walks. She will need some help with appropriate responses to exciting stuff! She is sweet and smart and so training with her should be a lot of fun. Her foster family reports: "Shuri has the most adorable tail wag, which exemplifies her playfulness. She is extremely warm with her puppy kisses. Her expressive gaze can melt hearts. Her yawn and howls are soft and precious. She has the most charming wrinkles on her head and loves head massages." Shuri gets excited when she sees new dogs, but isn't quite sure what she thinks of them yet. It would definitely benefit her to have a family who focuses on her social life! If you are looking for an adorable diamond in the ruff, Shuri might be your girl! If you would like to meet Shuri, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. show less

Ready to have your heart stolen by a brindle chunk of love? Meet Chandler, who came to TRD from Mexico with 2 litter mates. This adorable little guy loves to play hard. His foster mom describes him as the "sumo wrestler" of the group. He loves romping with other dogs. Once the fun is done, Chandler also enjoys a good snuggle. Chandler and his pals seem to learn quickly, and are picking up potty training. They also automatically sit if they think they are getting food or treats. Bringing these pups up will be fun! Chandler already weighs in at a whooping 5 pounds at 2 months old (as of late August 2020). It's hard to say how big he will be as an adult, but he will be on the larger side. Are you looking for a sweet sidekick to keep you company? Meet Benji, a two-year-old shepherd mix who came to TRD from a rescue partner in Mexico. When Benji first landed in his foster home, he didn't know quite what to think about new people, new dogs, and walks. He has since decided that people are good, dogs are, well, interesting, and walks can be fun! Benji is smart, and lets his foster people know when he'd like to go out for a walk and to do his business. He also lets them know when he's had enough of the great outdoors and it's time to head home. Benji is a gentle soul who appreciates human attention but also is content to entertain himself. Benji is still building up his confidence, and will need a patient new family to keep showing him the ropes and letting him know that the world is a pretty OK place. He doesn't know quite what to think of other dogs, but may benefit from a calm, older dog in his new family to show him how to dog. He seems befuddled by children, and may do better in an all-adult household. At 28 pounds, Benji is a great size for most living situations. If you'd like to meet Benji, please fill out an application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. show less
