Calling all rescue dog lovers! Sweet, shy Layla needs you. This adorable girl was rescued from Mexico as a young puppy. Now at 7 months old, Layla is potty trained, crate trained and has learned sit and down. What Layla absolutely needs to be successful is another dog in the household, a yard to run and a loving, patient family (only older kids) to help her flourish. Adopting Layla is what rescue is all about; saving, healing, loving and helping these pups thrive and make remarkable transformations. Layla doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She is a sweet, timid girl that becomes athletic, extra playful, goofy and so much fun after she warms up. She is affectionate and so lovable. If you are a family with a friendly, well mannered dog that wants to meet this beautiful sweetheart and support her on her journey to becoming a more secure, confident dog, please fill out an application and one of our Adoption Coordinators will get in touch with you soon. show less

Hi! I’m Bugsy!!! I heard you coming! Did you know I’m up for adoption?! I love meeting new people! What I would really love: a home that has a ball, a nylabone and stuffed animals! A home where I’m not left alone for long days and can get lots of cuddles. Treats are cool but what really motivates me is positive attention and love. Oh! And a home that has a crate because I’m working on training during the day when left alone and I like sleeping in my crate at nighttime. Here are things I like to do and I hope you do too! I love going on daily walks and PLAYTIME! While walking I need some reminders that not every human or dog wants to pet me or play with me. I’m learning a new word called “boundaries”. My Stats: I’m 5-6 months old and am potty trained. I do get excited when greeting people so much I pee a little but hopefully that wears off with age. Discovering the world is so new and exciting right now! I’m good with other dogs and can also entertain myself. Known commands are sit and name recall. I weigh 22 lbs now but my foster Ma says when I grow up I’ll be 45-55 lbs. Is that big?? If you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption application on our website! Hope to hear from my new family soon! https://therescueddog.org/adopt/adoption-application/ show less

Presenting...Lilly! Lilly is a 11 month old 38 pound lab/shepherd mix rescued from Tijuana (we predict she will be just a bit larger dog when fully grown). Lilly has come a long way and now she is ready to find her forever home! Lilly is loving, snuggly, energetic, and very smart (she was able to pick up potty training within a week!). She is housebroken and knows quite a few commands, but she is still working on walking with a leash. Lilly is an active puppy and absolutely loves to play fetch. She is also very sweet and friendly to all people and children once she gets to know them. However, Lilly can be a bit shy with strangers, at least until she trusts them (then she is very friendly and peppy). Lilly’s ideal home would be a loving family that is patient with her while she adjusts to a new lifestyle. Other dogs would also be a major plus as she developed special bonds with the dogs in her foster home and we believe she would do her best if there were other confident dogs in her adopter’s home also. Lilly is so loving and sweet—and she gets very closely attached to people she trusts. That said, she has some separation anxiety and whines when left alone for about 10 minutes. We don't believe this is a serious issue and will likely decrease over time in the right environment. Lilly is such a sweet and loving dog, and she would compliment many families. If you think Lilly could be a match with you, please fill out an application. show less

What could be more adorable than a litter of American Bully mix puppies? Well, a litter of puppies with Lion King themed names. Sisters Nala and Serabi, along with their brothers Hakuna, Matata, and Scar, came to TRD in August 2017 from an accidental litter. Their mother is a white german shepherd, and the father is an American Bully. At 10 weeks of age as of early August 2107, Nala is already 15 lbs. We expect her to be in the 50-60 pound range full grown. She has a beautiful cream colored coat, which makes her stand out from her siblings. According to her foster mom, Nala is fun and fearless, and loves to explore, and also wrestle with her sister Serabi and her other canine foster siblings. Nala has been working on her house training and her crate training. This little lady is smart, and ready for some basic training with her new forever family.Nala will be a perfect fit for a family that is looking to adopt a young pup and is willing to work on his house/potty training, and leash walking in return for unlimited and unwavering puppy love and loyalty. If you would like to meet Nala, please fill our an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet.http://therescueddog.org/2015/dog-adoption-application/ show less

Hey there potential adopters! My name is Bumi, but my foster family calls me Pistol Pete, just like the Hall of Fame basketball player. I would love for you to consider adopting me into your family. Put me in coach, I’m ready!!! I am full of energy and up for anything. I enjoy going for walks on leash where I can stop and sniff all the exciting smells. I also like to exercise by running around the back yard with my brother and foster siblings. I am almost completely house-trained and sleep in a crate at night. I have learned to come when my name is called but would like to continue with my training. I also would like a home that has a lot of good chew toys because chewing is just so fun! Not only do I have a ton of personality, but I also have a very sweet disposition. My perfect adopter should know that I like to snuggle after I get all of my energy out. show less

Hello everyone. My name is Porsche and I am so excited to find my forever home. I recently had a litter of puppies and now that they have all been adopted it is my turn❤️ I am a very sweet and loving 1 year old and 33 lb dog. I enjoy sitting on laps and soaking up all of the love and attention I am given. I am also always ready to go and enjoy zooming around the backyard. I walk well on a leash and sleep in my crate overnight. I am good with other dogs and people including kids. I do not bark very much and I take treats very gently from my people. If it’s a large treat I like to hide some of it so that I have a treat later also! If you adopt me, I promise we will become best of friends and you will be so happy you picked me.😍 If you would like to meet me please fill out an adoption application on our website. show less

Hi I’m Boxter! I think am the cutest out of all my siblings. Just look at my puppy eyes and white paws. I love playing with my siblings as well as all sorts of toys. They say I am the mischievous one in the group, but I am mellowing out as I get older. As a puppy, currently my favorite activities are playing, sleeping, getting belly rubs, and cuddling with my hooman. I am crate trained, almost house trained, and am working on walking on a leash. I would do well in any type of home as long as I have someone to play with and take me on adventures. I am a expected to weigh over 60-80+lbs (maybe up to 80 lbs!!) when fully grown. show less

Sweet boy Cayman is ready to find his forever home. This guy, unlike his fast, fiery car namesake, is more on the mellow, squishy, lovable side. He's expected to be over 45+ lbs and seems to be a beagle/lab mix. Cayman is your typical puppy- play, snuggle, nap, repeat. He is starting to get the hang of potty training, but will need more practice and patience with that of course. If Cayman's siblings aren't around for a snuggle during down time, he looks for his humans to cuddle up with. He's a lover! If you're looking for a playful, sweet puppy to be your companion (and your snuggle partner) then Cayman is your guy. Please fill out an application on our website if you'd like to meet Cayman. show less

Meet Katara of the Last Airbender Litter! This pretty schnauzer mix is 12 weeks old and ready to get out there and mingle with some potential forever families! We think she will be in the 30-40 pound range when full grown, so the perfect size for any living situation. Katara is currently fostered with other dogs and an elementary school aged foster brother and she is great with everyone! Katara is an independent girl who can entertain herself with toys, but she also enjoys human cuddles and playtime with her siblings. She sleeps with her siblings in a crate overnight, is working on potty training, but because she hasn't had all of her vaccinations yet she hasn't been on any leash walks. Katara's ideal family will be active, ready to show her the world, work on her basic training, and cuddles...they'd be up for the cuddles! If you would like to meet Katara please fill out an adoption application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Zoom, zoom, here comes Carrera. This little cutie pie and her 5 littermates came to TRD along with their mom from Mexico. At two months, this sweet Lab/Beagle mix currently weighs about 12 pounds and is expected to be over 45+ pounds when fully grown. Carrera is a little cautious with new people and situations, but she has plenty of puppy love to give once she warms up. Her hobbies include playing with whatever toy catches her eye and running around in the yard. According to her foster Mom, Carrera hops everywhere and is very playful with her siblings. More of a follower than a leader, she would likely do well with another doggy companion. Carrera is working on perfecting her potty training and is already a good girl while crated overnight. If you’d like to meet this little sweetheart to see if she is one you’ve been searching for, please submit an Adoption Application on our website. Carrera can’t wait to meet you! show less

Introducing cuddly Cayenne. This little Beagle/Lab mix came to us with her mom and five siblings from Mexico. The biggest female in her litter, she weighs about 13 pounds and we expect her to be over 45+ pounds when fully grown. Cayenne is two months old, revved up, and ready to find her forever family. She is very friendly and enjoys attention from admirers of all ages. According to her foster Mom, she makes a little grumbly sound when you pet her, like a cat purring. Cayenne loves to rumble with her siblings and run around in the yard. She is happy to play with toys of all kinds, including her leash at this point. Although she has always been with her littermates, Cayenne is an independent girl who will sleep alone with a stuffed toy for company in her crate overnight. If this happy, playful, cuddle bug sounds like the puppy for you, please submit an Adoption Application. Cayenne would love to meet you! show less
