Meet Tigger, an adorable beagle-dachshund mix looking for a fun and active family to show him the ropes! Tigger is a sweet and exuberant puppy at about 5 months old. He loves his people, and he loves playing with his canine foster siblings. Tigger is learning to walk on leash, and seems to be getting the hang of it, with a few puppy distraction moments thrown in for fun. Tigger has a lot of energy and his foster family spends a good amount of time making sure he gets the right amount of exercise to meet his needs. The good news is that he loves to play, so romping around with other dogs counts as exercise! He also is good with children and appreciates a lot of human attention, in any form. Tigger is crate trained, and has almost mastered his potty training. He doesn't have much behavior training under his belt, yet! But he loves people and treats, so getting him up to speed on some basic life skills should be easy and fun. He will be a super star at puppy classes! If you are looking for a sweet little canine cuddle-bug, Jana is the one for you! Jana came to us from a local shelter, where she was brought in as a stray. She is now living in a foster home with three other dogs who she gets along well with, although she prefers the attention of her human foster parents. She is a little shy when she meets someone for the first time, but it doesn't take her long to warm up and crawl in your lap, looking for pets and loves. Jana is crate-trained and has almost mastered potty training. She is about a year and a half old and weighs in at around 12 pounds. She is calm and easy-going, and will get along with children as well as other dogs. She would love to be in a home where she can receive lots of affection. Meet sweet Shelby! She is a 32-pound, 4-year-old shepherd-beagle mix and she has been a long time foster with TRD. When Shelby was rescued in the Fall of 2018, she was diagnosed with cancer. After multiple surgeries and lots of love and care, we are happy to report that Shelby is now completely cancer free and ready to embrace the next chapter of her life with her forever family. Shelby will thrive with adopters who are active--she is an excellent running buddy. A home with another dog (of her size and preferably female) will be a good fit for her. She loves to run around in her foster mom's yard and does great in the local dog park. This outdoors-loving dog likes the ocean too (good thing she lives in San Diego!). Shelby is completely house trained and she is very well behaved around the home. She is good with kids, dogs, and even cats! Given her rough beginnings, she may be shy with to new people and experiences but give her some time and she will show her beautiful personality. She is very independent and does well when left on her own (not clingy at all). show less

Welcome back Joey, a 2.5-year-old papillon-spaniel mix, and a professional napper, rescued by TRD in March 2018. This pint sized pupper weighs 7 pounds, which makes him a good fit for families in most living situations (apartments, houses, condos, etc.). Joey was adopted out about a year ago, but due to changes in his family's situation, Joey has returned to TRD, and is looking for a new forever family. Joey can initially shy and timid when meeting new people. But once he decides he likes you, he is very affectionate and cuddly. He is fine around dogs and cats, although he is not interested in playing with them. Joey would rather cuddle and sleep with his foster family all day everyday. Because of this, Joey might appreciate being the only dog in the home. To keep his svelte 7 pound body in shape, Joey likes to go leashed walks every morning. Joey is naturally good on the leash and has been non-reactive to new things he has encountered on walks. Their birthday is January 16, 2019. It's too early to tell if they are all hypoallergenic but it is possible. These puppies are already on their way to being potty trained, as they prefer to go potty outside already and not in their contained play pen. They are all spunky and love playing tug and chasing after toys. JWoww is very outgoing, confident, and has zero fears. She loves a game of chase with her siblings. Meet Pablo! He is an 10-month-old chihuahua-spaniel mix puppy rescued by TRD in September 2018. Pablo currently weighs 5-6 pounds and his full grown weight is expected to be around 15-20 pounds. Pablo is a spunky, lovable goofball. Within a few short weeks, he wooed the adults, kids, and dogs in his foster home. He is extremely social--he enjoys going out (car rides are his favorite) and loves to meet new people. He has been great interacting with other dogs too and would thrive in a busy household with kids and other dogs. Despite his small stature, he is active and loves to run around the yard. He is also an expert cuddler and likes to sit on his foster mom's lap. Pablo's foster family is working on basic puppy training with him. He is picking up crate training and house training. He is also learning new commands like Sit and Stay. Pablo is treat motivated so training him is easy and fun. Like most puppies, Pablo loves to chew on everything in sight--but he responds well when he is redirected to a chew toy. His forever family will need to continue his puppy training. Pablo will be a great addition to any family looking to add a puppy to their household. His sweet personality is sure to dazzle anyone. We are pleased to introduce Betty to the world, and she is very pleased to meet everybody! We first found Betty at a local shelter in December 2018, but sadly she contracted parvovirus and she to be quarantined while she battled her serious illness. We were thrilled to return to the shelter and find her healthy and ready to be rescued this February. At about ten months old, Betty still has plenty of puppy energy. She loves to play with other dogs and people, and she enjoys walks and hikes. She loves to give kisses to her human and dog friends. As a puppy, she is still mouthy with people, and likes to chew on things, but she is happily redirected to her favorite Nylabone or a rawhide. She will do best in a home with older children and no cats. Betty is about 20 pounds at 10 months old, and we believe she is more or less full grown. Zozo is TRD's new dog on the block but this dog has been around the block a few times in his time. Zozo is an 11-year-old Bichon Frise mix and like fine wine, Zozo only gets better with age. Zozo came to us when his family fell on hard times and couldn't provide for Zozo anymore. Zozo is a spunky healthy senior who has many happy and healthy years ahead of him, and he can’t wait to meet the perfect family to enjoy them with. Zozo has a sweet, mellow natured personality. He is also a professional grade snuggler. He is not really interested in toys (that's for silly puppies); Zozo would rather engage in a heart to heart conversation with you. He is great with all adults, kids, dogs, and cats too. He loves going on walks--walk time is pretty much his favorite time of the day. He is steady and relaxed on walks and has excellent leash manners. Zozo loves car rides, and for wanderlust adopters, he is going to be the best travel buddy. Are you looking for a sweet sidekick to keep you company? Meet Buddy! Buddy is an adorable spaniel mix who weighs in at around 25 pounds. He is full grown at 1.5 years old. Buddy had a bit of a rough start, and shows some signs of shyness with new people and new dogs. His foster mom is working diligently to show Buddy the world and socialize him a lot! Buddy lives with two dogs and they are definitely showing him the ropes! Buddy also attended a recent TRD event with dogs and humans and did great. He will continue to overcome his shyness with lots of practice. Buddy has pretty good leash manners, although can get distracted from time to time and pull. He is easily corrected though. He is very connected to his humans, so training Buddy will be easy and fun. Buddy loves a good car ride, and is happy to hit the road. What he loves most, though, is snuggle time with his people. This guy is a sweet and soulful friend who will always be by your side. Because Buddy is shy and could use some extra help, his new family will be highly encouraged to take advantage of the free training session offered as part of a TRD adoption.
