If you are looking for an enthusiastic, affectionate new friend, we would love to introduce you to Opal! Opal is an adorable Scottie/Schnauzer mix who loves to snuggle and be petted when she is not out playing or meeting new friends. She is great with kids and boasts wonderful habits at home. Opal does not chew on things that she is not supposed to, is house-trained, and spends the night in her crate. Also, Opal knows how to sit and come, and has good name recall. For the most part, Opal is great with other dogs. When she is out on walks or at the dog park she loves to make new friends with other dogs and people. While on leash, Opal does generally well; however, when she sees other dogs who she wants to play with she tends to get excited and pull a bit on her leash. Also, she is afraid of skateboards and loud cars and buses, but this type of behavior is common in small and midsize dogs. Opal weighs 21 pounds and will be 2 years old as of September 2015. TRD got Opal from the Devore shelter in April 2014. She was adopted quickly but came back to TRD through no fault of her own, when her family's situation changed and they could no longer care for her. Her former family assures us that Opal is a great dog, and they have provided us with positive reports about her playfulness, cuteness, cuddliness, and overall great behavior. Opal is a sweet, adorable, and playful dog who is ready to grace a household in need of a fun and loving pet. If you would like to meet Opal, please fill out an application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to set up a meet and greet!
