Meet sweet Alexa, she and her sisters were abandoned at the shelter in a box but she has already put that behind her. Alexa is a 12 week old pit bull maybe mixed with a little boxer, but she sure is a pretty pup! She is crate trained, working on her potty training, good with other dogs and is living with young kids in her foster home. She is a typical puppy though, so she can be mouthy. Alexa is a silly, independent puppy that loves to play with other dogs. We would love her to have an active family who is ready to dive into puppy socialization and training, and one who has experience with pitties. If you would like to meet Alexa, please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Are you looking for a pocket-sized cutie to keep you company? Meet Elsa, a teeny little lady who loves walks, other dogs, and above all, her people. Elsa came to TRD from a local shelter. She is about 7 pounds full grown, and has adorable freckle-like markings and a sweet chi face. Elsa currently lives in a house with other dogs and cats, and does great with everyone. She's a real lady on leash and enjoys a good walk. She is not reactive to other dogs when she is out and about; she's more interested is smelling the smells and taking in the sights. Elsa is crate trained, and has almost perfected her house training. At just around a year and a half old, Elsa is the perfect age to pick up new skills with her forever family. She is an adorable and affectionate pint-sized sweetie looking for a family who will respect her diminutive size and enjoy walks and snuggles as much as she does. If you would like to meet Elsa, please fill out an adoption application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet. show less

If you’re looking for an adorable little lovebug to be a part of your family, Atticus is your man! At about 13 pounds he is the perfect size for lap snuggling, and at about a year old, he is a good balance between youthful energy and adult maturity. His foster family describes him as playful, adorable, and full of spunk. Atticus loves his people and can get very attached to them; he has exhibited some separation anxiety and has had a hard time adjusting to being in a crate, but he has made a lot of progress with his foster family and our trainer. In his new home, he will need to continue this training and receive guidance and structure from his human pack leader. He is potty trained and gets along well with other dogs and children. If you are interested in meeting Atticus, please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. show less

Get a load of these ears! Maz is a 6 month old cattle dog/lab mix we are guessing, currently 22 pounds, crate and potty trained. She is silly and so smart, she loves toys and is currently loving her daily 2-3 mile walks. She loves to be around her people and is a pesky sister to the older dog in her foster home. Her foster family has worked with a trainer to manage her puppy energy and playful mouthiness. Maz is going to do best with a very active family or with a yard and a canine playmate to help expend some of her energy. Because she is such an exuberant puppy she will do best in a home with older children. If you would like to meet Maz please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Can we interest you in an adorable slice of Pumpkin Cheesecake? This cutie is part of the Ben & Jerry's litter and she is scrumptious! At just over 3 months old she is ready to find her forever home. Pumpkin is the shyest puppy from the litter so she will need a patient family to keep boosting her confidence in new situations. We also want Pumpkin to have another dog in the home to help her learn the ropes. The litter came to us from an independent rescuer in Mexicali, born on Valentine's day, mom is a lab/shepherd mix and it looks like dad could have been a German shepherd, chow or rottweiler. They will be large dogs so we are looking for adopters with large dog and breed experience. If you fit the bill and would like to meet Pumpkin please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Meet Jim from The Office litter. This handsome guy is just under four months old, crate and almost potty trained, and best of all he loves other animals. If the cat in his foster home would give him a chance they would be playmates! Jim came to us from an independent rescuer in Mexicali. His littermates have been adopted but Jim has been working with his foster, who is a trainer, to gain some confidence around new people. He is making great progress! Jim is wonderful on leash, he is learning new things each day so stops to observe often, he is also learning walk time isn't play time. He is a sweet, playful and loving boy. He absolutely LOVES animal friends. He bounces after toys or grass which is so entertaining. After some play time or a good walk he will calm down to take a nice long nap and is snuggly! He is a puppy though, so you will have to watch your shoes. Jim's mom is a cattle dog mix but it looks like dad was a pit bull so we are looking for an active family who can continue all the great socialization he's getting in his foster home. We think he will be happiest in a home with another confident dog, and older respectful kids. Breed knowledge a plus! If you would like to meet Jim please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Meet sweet Darla, who came to us from a local shelter. Before that she spent most of her life, two and a half years, at a rescue in Mexicali. At about four years old Darla is learning about life outside a shelter, everything is new to her. She is a very easy, a sweet, loving dog. Playful with other dogs and runs so fast when she gets the zoomies in the back yard. She is otherwise very calm and relaxed indoors. She was very scared when rescued but has adjusted well in her foster home. Darla is working on basic commands, she is crate and house trained, and doing well on leash. At 32 pounds she is the perfect size for any living situation. She is looking for a family will get her out in the world with lots of experiences. She would love walks and hikes, she’s extremely happy when she’s outdoors and exposure to new environments boosts her confidence! Darla came to us with another dog from the same shelter and hasn't been the same since he was adopted. We think Darla will be happiest with a dog sibling and will need a patient family, with older children, that will help guide her through this transition into being a loving pet. If you would like to meet Darla please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Meet sweet Faith. Are you looking for a mellow couch potato type dog? Faith may be the girl for you! She came to us from a rescuer in Mexicali with a litter of four puppies. The puppies were old enough to be on their own so we moved Faith to a foster where she could get all the attention she deserves. Faith was new to living in a home, and she has decided she likes it! She is crate and house trained, but still learning the ropes at leash walking. Truth be told, she is not a fan, for that reason we think Faith needs a home with a yard and humans who will take the time to teach her how much fun a walk can be! Faith has no tail and the cutest little wiggle butt when she is excited. She does jump on people which her fosters are working on so she will do best in a home without young kids. Due to stay at home orders she isn't left alone much but she does whine a little in the crate when her fosters leave the house. She loves sleeping in her crate though and often times puts herself to bed when she is ready. Faith has an underdeveloped eye which she can't see out of, but she does just fine. At 3 years old and just under 40 pounds Faith will make the perfect companion for just about anyone! If you would like to meet Faith please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less
