Meet Antoinette of the Royals puppies! These puppies were found on the street in El Centro by a rescuer who fostered them until they came to us at the Rescued Dog. Antoinette’s foster mom reports that she is the leader of the group. She has the longest legs of all the dogs in the litter, and she uses them to watch over her siblings. She is somewhat quiet, and enjoys playing, eating and sleeping. At just eight weeks old, she is still working on potty training. Antoinette is a basset hound/cattle dog mix. As such, she is very energetic and vocal and prone to being mouthy, which means she will do best in a home with a yard and a family who will give her plenty of exercise. She will most likely not do well with small children. Adopters with previous experience with herding/working breeds are preferred. If you are interested in meeting Antoinette, please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. show less

Meet Tails, a sweet and playful 3-year-old dachshund/spaniel mix. Tails came to us from a shelter in Imperial County, where he had been picked up as a stray. Tails is currently being fostered in a home with another dog and a young human child, and he loves to play with both of them, as well as play with his rope and stuffed toys. He also does well around cats. He knows several commands, is crate trained, and has almost mastered potty training. He loves going for walks and getting exercise, so he will do well in an active home, or one with another playful dog. He is somewhat shy around new people, but he is sweet and warms up quickly. At 19 pounds, he is a good size for indoor living, or going on outdoor adventures. If you would like to meet Tails, please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. show less

Meet Rogue! This sweet girl is all love with a whole lot of boxer energy. She came from a litter of puppies we were asked to help with from Rosarito Mexico. She is almost 4 months old, great with dogs, fully crate trained, and almost potty trained. She is very curious, loves to snuggle with dogs and her humans, and can be nervous with loud noises. Rogue is very food motivated so training with her will be easy. Given her energy level and excitement around people she will do best around kids who are a little older. Rogue will need a very active family and maybe a doggie playmate to help her burn energy. If you would like to meet Rogue please fill out an application and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

This pint sized cutie is Nala, she is 3 months old and all of 5 pounds! Nala is a sweet girl, energetic, and loves to eat above everything! She also loves to cuddle anytime her foster family slows down in the house! She’ll ask to go on your lap and sleep in a little ball! She is a bit stubborn but she is very smart so with time and maturity she will for sure be able to learn everything that her family wants to teach her! She doesn't love the crate but sleeps through the night on her puppy bed. Nala is still working on potty training and she is a mouthy little puppy but redirects to toys well. Because she likes to nibble on her people we think a home with older kids will be best. She is good with dogs and cats, likes to walk but at some point she will ask to be carried like the princess she is! She knows what she wants and is so cute she can usually get it. She will need a family who is home more than not so they can work on her basic training. If you would like to meet Nala please fill out an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Meet Taquito, an adorable 5-month-old dachshund/chihuahua mix who came to us from Mexicali, where he was rescued off the streets as a puppy. Taquito's interests include playing with a ball or his stuffed toys and going for walks. As a puppy, he still needs a little practice walking on a leash, but he enjoys the exercise. He is crate-trained, and is working on potty training (he is still young and will need a little more training in this regard). He is good around cats, but he has not been around other kids yet, so he would need to be tested to see how he does. If you are interested in meeting Taquito, please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch, show less

X-Puppy Storm came to us from Mexico. Mom was a lab mix rescued from the streets. At 12 weeks old Storm is crate trained, almost potty trained, and working on her leash walking. Her foster family says she is very smart and sweet, playful and energetic. She is good with dog and kids but we don't know how she is with cats yet. Storm would love an active family who is ready to work on her basic training and who can keep her smart mind engaged. She loves to cuddle, is playful with kids and dogs but needs to learn to be gentle, for this reason we think she will do best with older kids in the home. If you would like to meet Storm please fill out an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

The lovely Layla came to us from the streets of Mexicali. This gorgeous girl is a year old, 30 pounds, great with dogs, people and kids but we aren’t sure how she would do around cats. She is potty and crate trained but she is used to having other dogs in the home when the humans are away. Layla loves daily walks and is working to learn the concept of a leash, it’s all new to a street dog! Layla is such a lover, she hops and smiles when you come home and can’t wait to wake you up with kisses in the morning. She’s mellow, follows other dogs cue, and has excellent house manners. Because she was on the streets with a companion dog and her separation anxiety when truly alone, we think Layla needs a home with another pup to help her feel more secure and confident. If you would like to meet sweet Layla please fill out an adoption application and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Meet Patrick, a spunky young terrier mix from Mexicali! Patrick was saved from a life on the streets by one of our rescue partners in Mexico, who made him healthy and happy and ready to come here to us in San Diego. Since then he has been living in a foster home with another dog, with whom he plays and snuggles regularly. He is good with dogs, cats, and kids alike, loves his human companions and would love as much attention and affection as he can get. He also likes treats and playing with toys, especially ones he can chew. At about a year old, he still has quite a bit of puppy energy, and will do best in a home where he can play and get his wiggles out before cuddling up with his humans. He is potty-trained and crate-trained. He needs a little bit of practice walking on a leash, but he loves walking and getting exercise. If you think Patrick might be the dog for you, please fill out an application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch. show less

If you are looking to add a sweet and adorable chihuahua to your family, Raven may just be the girl for you! Hailing from Mexicali, Raven came to us from one of our rescue partners south of the border who saved her from a life on the street. We estimate her to be about ten months old, and she certainly has some of that playful energy typical of a young dog. She enjoys playing with her ball or her stuffed toys, as well as with the other dogs in the house. She also enjoys going for her daily walk. Her foster family reports that she was quick to learn a few commands, and that she has mastered crate and potty training. She is good with kids and other dogs, and she is generally playful and happy at all times. At 13 pounds she is the perfect size to cuddle up next to you on the couch. Raven would love a home where she can get all kinds of affection and play time. If you are interested in meeting Raven, please fill out an application on our website and one our adoption coordinators will be in touch. show less
