If you are searching for a great family dog with a big personality, TRD may have the perfect canine companion for you. Meet Milagro a.k.a. Mila. Mila is a brown-eyed, caramel-colored beauty who came to us from another rescue in Mexico. She is a German Shepherd/Labrador mix and her weight, when full grown, is expected to be about 40 pounds. She is 5 months old, as of late August, is growing quickly and currently weighs about 15 pounds. According to Mila's foster Mom, Mila gets along very well with the other dogs in the house, loves searching for critters in the backyard and playing with a variety of toys. She particularly enjoys Bully Sticks, as a special treat. Mila is just starting to lose her baby teeth, so having something to chew on is a priority. As a young pup, Mila is still working on her house training. She is doing a good job using her puppy pads and if she goes outside straight from her crate, she does her business like a good girl. Currently, she doesn't like being crated at night, but does a lot better during the day. Mila's ideal home would have a good-sized yard to run and play and a doggie companion would be great too. Since she is still very young, Mila is not left alone for more than a few hours. As yet, Mila hasn't completely mastered leash training, although once you get her hooked up and out the door, she does pretty well. Mila's foster family describes her as curious, playful, and energetic. With continued training, as she matures, Mila will be a wonderful addition to any family. If Mila sounds like just the pup you’ve been searching for, please submit an application and one of our adoption coordinators will contact you soon. Our sweet girl Mila would love to meet you.
