Are you looking for some sweetness in your life? Meet the Sweet Treats litter! This adorable litter of puppies was was wandering the streets of Mexicali when they were just a few weeks old. Thankfully TRD was able to take in these pups and get them off the streets! We believe these puppies are Australian Shepherd/Spaniel mixes and are 10-11 weeks old as of late June 2021. The puppies currently weigh between 6-8 lbs and will likely be between 30-35 lbs when fully grown. The Sweet Treat puppies will require an adopter with an active life style who understands a herding breed and their need for activity and stimulation. They need an adopter who is committed to providing training, socialization, mental and physical activity. The puppies are all active, energetic, playful, affectionate, and intelligent! They love cuddling, belly rubs, exploring in the backyard, tug of war and all the normal puppy play! The puppies are all working on potty training. They have been very good about learning how to be great pups but will require basic puppy training, an active lifestyle, lots of love and guidance to become the best pups they can be. All training is an ongoing process and they will need encouragement and positive reinforcement for continued success. These puppies and ready to start life with their new forever families. If you would like to meet any of the Sweet Treats, please fill out an application on the TRD website and an adoption coordinator will be in touch to schedule a meet and greet. show less

Meet Ozai of The Last Airbender litter! This adorable schnauzer mix is 12 weeks old and we expect he will be in the 30-40 pound range when full grown. Perfect size for any living situation. Ozai is great with other dogs and people, and we think he would do well with kids but he is a teething puppy so would need to be closely monitored around the young ones. Ozai is working on potty training and leash walking and doing well. His foster family says he is a sweetheart, full of puppy energy, and loves to play with his brother and toys. He is a cuddler and affectionate when he isn’t playing. Ozai and his brother sleep in a crate overnight and they can be left alone for a few hours. This sweet puppy's ideal home would be with an active family who are ready to teach him all his basic training. He is smart and wants to please so he will be fun to train! If you are interested in meeting Ozai please fill out an adoption application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Liberty is a real sweetheart who was rescued from the streets along with her puppies. She was unsure of people at first, understandably, but her fosters say they are impressed with how much she is adapting to her new life. We think Liberty could be about 5-6 years old and had quite a solitary life without a lot of human contact or love. She's a pretty 35lb lab, potty trained and crate trained for up to 8 hours but is also able to stay by herself without being crated for up tp 6 hours, Liberty LOVES the outdoors. She walks great on a leash and just loves to roam the neighborhood. Liberty has enjoyed going on 4 walks a day and will keep walking for as long as her people want. Liberty has done great meeting other dogs and is learning how to play at the dog park but hasn’t had much interest in 2 legged friends (humans). She will sometimes growl if approached too quickly but has also allowed people that she just meets pet her. She is also at times cuddly with people she knows well and has grown leaps and bounds in this area. Because Liberty is still learning trust and security with humans she has shown some possessiveness over her foster mom who has been working with a trainer and she is doing great. She has not been around children or cats but has done great meeting other dogs. She needs a patient adopter who will continue to work with her and help her to gain trust in humans. Her ideal home would have a yard that she can run around in and explore and a mellow, patient family who wants to provide her with a great second half of her life. If you'd like to meet Liberty please fill out an adoption application application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Introducing Blanca! One and half year old, Blanca, is a beautiful 35 lb lab/husky mix. This sweet girl was another one of TRD's saves from the streets of Mexico. Her foster has been working hard with her on basic training, impulse control and confidence in new situations/environments. Inside the home she is the perfect dog! She is goofy and sweet and loves her people. This striking, gorgeous girl knows many basic commands including recall and place training. Blanca recently completed a specialized board and train program to obtain the most comprehensive plan and tools to help her be successful with a new family. She will need strict structure and someone willing to commit to her training in order for her to become the best dog she can be. Different dogs require different training techniques depending on their behaviors and personality and we are committed to finding a family for Blanca that will support these needs. Blanca will go to her forever home with support from her professional trainers that includes a session to learn about the tools needed for Blanca to be successful. This smart girl will flourish with the right people who have dog experience and understand what's best for her. We gave this sweet girl a chance at a new life from her solitary, stressful life on the streets and now we are looking for her perfect family to support the rest of her learning and transition. show less

Oh hi there, my name is Yeti. I am 13 weeks old and looking for my forever home. I'm a lab mix and the people who rescued me think I will be about 50 pounds when I grow up. I have a pen with a crate to sleep in and when I get enough exercise I don't mind being there for a few hours at a time. My foster brother and I play a lot and we go for walks which I love. There is lots of basic training here in my foster home like sit, down, leave it, and touch. My potty training is still ongoing though. My fosters say I am sweet, sassy, smart, and not shy at all. I like to get the ‘zoomies’ and run around the house playing for an hour or so and then fall asleep outside in the sun or under my foster's desk on a bed. I'm a big puppy who just loves to be held and cuddled, but that also means I can get rambunctious. I am teething and can get a little ‘bitey’ during play so I might not be the best with the younger humans. I have never met a cat, but I love meeting other dogs and new people. And water...I like water a lot! Do you have an active home — I think I would love hiking and adventures outdoors; maybe a yard to run around? I don't need another dog in my life but I think I would like it best if it was a boy. Everyone I meet loves me, so if I sound like your cup of tea fill out an adoption application to set up a play date, I think you will love me too!! show less

Hi, My name is Hydra but you can call me Hydi, I am 13 weeks old and ready to find my forever family! The rescue peeps think me and my siblings are lab mixes but I have been blessed with shorter legs than my sisters and brothers so they call me a 'lowrider', cute huh?! They think I will be about 40 pounds when I grow up. I am sweet, great at snuggles, and super chill compared to some of my sisters. I like to climb on the back of the couch to rest like a cat and to be in position for all the kisses. I'm a chewer so watch out for your shoes! Foster mom and dad have started my basic training and I'm pretty much a rockstar! I love to go into my crate, sit like a champ, and I am good at OFF, LEAVE IT, HERE, and name recall. I'm a total package! I have met cats, dogs, and little humans and have been great with all. I am a teething puppy though so sometimes I am a little nippy. I may not be the best with the younger kiddos. If you think you might be my people please fill out an adoption application and a rescue lady will be in contact. show less

Next up for adoption we have Lil Miss “adopt me” Terrier/Chihuahua mix. Weighing in at just 7 pounds at about 1 year old, Lil Miss is on the Tiny and Cute team. She is looking for someone to help her have a winning record by adopting her and loving her forever. Lil Miss is just the sweetest little dog. She loves to snuggle and would be a great lap dog for someone. Sometimes the world can seem like a big scary place to her so she would benefit from an owner who will be patient and introduce her slowly to new dogs and new places. Starting her off on the right foot with some training would be fantastic for Lil Miss. She is mostly house trained as long as she gets to go outside to go potty every 4-6 hours. This little lady loves running around and exploring the foster’s backyard with their dog. When she is excited she hops around because she just can’t contain her happiness. If Lil Miss sounds like the perfect dog for you, please fill out an application. She’ll be waiting patiently for her time in the spotlight🌟 show less

If you're looking for an extra cute Shepherd puppy- we've got one for you! Dahlia was rescued from Mexico at 8 weeks old. Now at 10 weeks, we know she's a healthy puppy ready to find her forever home. Over the last 2 weeks we've learned she's a normal puppy- teething, chewing, potty training, playing and looking all sorts of cute! Dahlia is just getting used to important things like crate training, walks, and potty training. Her foster says she is energetic and loves attention and pets from people. She'll be a large breed dog, likely 50-60 lbs, that will require basic training and a family that is committed to spend the time needed for this training as well as her exercise needs. Shepherds are intelligent and love to learn and have a job, so we'd love Dahlia to have a family that understands her breed characteristics so she becomes the best dog she can be! If you think Dahlia is the pup for you please fill out an adoption application. show less

Hi I’m Lucy! I am a 7 month old lab/shepherd mix. I currently weigh about 23 lbs and am still growing. I was rescued from Mexico with my siblings and have been thriving in my foster home. I am a pretty typical puppy that loves toys, playing, people, and other dogs. I have a lot of puppy energy and am looking for a family that has some experience with dogs since I am high energy and need some guidance (training!). My current foster describes me as playful, affectionate, energetic, and loving. I respond to my name and the command “down” as well. I love to chew on my stuffed toys, ropes, and Nylabones and I'm a typical teething puppy. I currently live with my sister pup and resident dogs, so I am happy to have have new animal siblings or be the star of the show. Since I'm young and learning the ropes of good behavior, I shouldn't be left along for long periods of time. I've started my crate training and am doing great and I am also learning to walk on a leash. I love running around and playing in my yard multiple times a day. I am not completely potty trained, but I am almost there and am learning quickly. My ideal home would be one with a yard and other dogs to show me the ropes of life. Room to roam, play, and run is important since I will be medium-large when fully grown. As a puppy, I currently need a lot of play time and walks due to my high energy. I can’t wait to meet my new family! If you are interested in meeting Lucy, please fill out an adoption application on our website and an adoption coordinator will be in contact. show less

Meet Phoebe! This cutie pie is a very special little girl. We saved Phoebe after learning she was thrown over a fence as a very young puppy. She came to us with some severe medical issues after this trauma. Phoebe spent her first several weeks being continuously medically evaluated after having seizures and we've been assessing some deficits that are still a bit of a mystery to us and our vets. Due to her early trauma we think she may have some decreased hearing and vision but this has not affected this playful, spunky girl! At about 5 months old now, Phoebe will be a small-medium sized pupper; likely 20lbs or less. Phoebe is still working on her crate training and potty training. She is great with dogs and would likely benefit if she had a patient, friendly dog sibling in her new home. She enjoys the company of all adults, but due to her small size only homes with older kids will be a fit. This sweet cuddle-bug really enjoys being on anyone's lap and snuggling when she's not bounding around with puppy energy. Phoebe's attention is short so training will take patience. She's just starting some training of basic commands and doing well learning her leash walking. Her foster mom describes her as sweet, affectionate and energetic. We don't know to what extent the trauma she endured will have. What we do know is that she has recovered amazingly from her initial symptoms and medical concerns thus far. She may end up having some life long vague deficits related to seizures, hearing, vision and learning, but we just don't have those definitive answers. Adopting Phoebe will be the epitome of rescue; taking the abused and abandoned and helping them to heal, transform and know love. If you'd like to meet this sweetness in person please fill out an application on our website. show less
